I have a super soft spot for Hops he’s just an overall great guy, I grew up an Angels fan from LI NY and this hurts me man, I really hope he finds his footing in 2026!!❤️🫶

  1. Sounds like a lot of his struggles came from the mental side. Hopefully the new coaching staff can be a better guiding voice than the last one.

  2. Well that’s pretty standard, if you don’t play well you get sent down. Most younger guys have to deal with that pressure. Hopefully he can manage it better next season.

  3. I have already heard he was one of the first calls Suzuki made when hired.

Kurt’s going to be great for O’Hoppe’s comeback. Just imagine his bat along with Neto, Ward, Adell, Trout, Nolan and the new addition.

2026 is going to be so fun.

  4. I mean that’s how it should be, no? The Mets optioned Alvarez to AAA after a massive sophomore slump. He came back way more confident and looked like he was back to his old self.

  5. We need Logan to take the next step up. His mental struggles will be his greatest threat though.

  6. This is not a good look at all he seems like he really needs to improve his overall mentality and not make it so where he just implodes whenever something doesn’t go his way. Also not the best look that he has a big enough ego to think he’s above getting sent down if he’s not performing and how it would be the end of the world if he did. Truth is if he was on 27 other teams he most likely would have.

Ron was right about how just cause you’re on the team doesn’t really mean a whole lot when you’re in your first couple years and haven’t proven anything yet. With Neto being an exception none of the young guys have proven they should be given a guaranteed spot to be a big part of this team. Besidess one good half of a season what has O’Hoppe really done to prove he should be a core part of this team? Having that mentality is a shitty thing to have and is one of the many downsides of Perry rushing up our prospects. I unfortunately see CMo also going down this route too.

  7. That’s the only leverage the team has to motivate the player. Once they sign that big guaranteed contract, you’re at their mercy if they wanna play balls out or phone it in

  8. Not sure why. If you don’t perform you get sent down. It’s pretty standard. To me it’s concerning that he lacks the self confidence to succeed like he should. It’s not like you’re playing with pressure in Anaheim
