MAJOR New Orleans Saints Trade Rumors Per Adam Schefter & ESPN

[Music] We got some new trade rumors coming in from Adam Shfter and the trades are heating up in New Orleans. You’re watching Saints Now by chat sports. My name is Trizy Trace Gerard. The latest reports around the trade front are that teams continue to call the New Orleans Saints regarding the availability of their wide receivers. We are about a week and some change away from the NFL trade deadline. New Orleans has five picks in the upcoming draft. Hard to see a world where they don’t make some trades. Now, reported teams that are aggressively pursuing wide receivers. It’s these three right here, Pittsburgh, Buffalo, and Denver. For what it’s worth, I wouldn’t mind making a trade to any of those teams because they’re all AFC. You don’t have to really deal with them all that often. Something to monitor. The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting Marquez Valdez scantling Saints legend on a visit. And if it goes well and passes his physicals and stuff, it’s safe to assume they will sign him. So, I wonder if that will be considered their wide receiver move. Jack Sperry, our host of Steelers Talk, thinks so, but I do think that there’s a handful of teams out there that are in the wide receiver market. All I do know is that the New Orleans Saints kind of need to make a trade. you’re sort of in a spot where you can’t afford to not trade somebody. You need draft capital. You need to get younger. You need to get cheaper. You need to free yourself some from some of these contracts. The Saints are in a position where your back is a little bit against the wall and you have to make a trade. So, I will tell you whenever a trade inevitably does go down because they will be sellers, right? In my personal opinion, I I think it would be silly to not be sellers. We’re going to break it down. We’re going to go live. We’re going to make sure you are informed and you are notified. That is my promise to you. Subscribe to Saints Now by Chat Sports right here, right now because there will be things that come out of the blue just like that. And I am going to make sure that you are in the know. Three receivers, not two, three receivers have been getting some interest. Here’s what Sheff had to say. New Orleans has said they’re not interested in trading away one of their wide receivers, but league sources believe Rasheed Shahed can be had for the right price. I’m my I I’m just so sad. It’s heartbreaking to read that out loud. my Pooky Bear may get traded. That would be heartbreaking, but it’s something I would understand, unfortunately. And I will say proceed with caution when it comes to trading a wide receiver. Obviously, you need to think about the future, but you don’t want to jeopardize the development of your quarterback and the evolution of the new offense because you wanted to just trade away a player and try to potentially replace him in the draft. Proceed with caution. Not saying don’t do it, but if you do, you need to be surgical with how you go about the next few months and then in the off season, how you address the position. Now, let’s get into the latest reports around Olive Shahed and one other wide receiver. Uh, the Saints are working on extending Chris Olive, not trading him. This is stuff that we have heard before, but Olive did say that it feels like they are on the same page between him and the team about him sticking around for the long term. So, I do expect an extension to happen, not soon, but I think one will happen for Chris Olive, which means that Rasheed Shahed is expendable. And sources say that New Orleans would like to receive a third round pick for Rasheed Shahed. Um, obviously it’s tough to say what comp pick we could potentially get if we allow Rashid Shahit to walk in free agency. But if players or if teams want this player, be greedy, make them pay up and make them pay a premium price because if you can turn a UDFA that’s 27 years old into a quality or into a a high level pick, like not bad on paper when you think about it. Now, other reports, we talked about two receivers, but what was the third one? Brandon Cooks. Um, I believe it’s a record, fifth time that he would be traded. Uh, Brandon Cooks is a candidate that’s worth monitoring according to Adam Shfter, Annie and Rapaort. A lot of reports out there right now. This would be the fifth time in his 12-year career that he would be moved, which would be insane. Second time by the Saints, he got traded. Uh, he signed a two-year contract in New Orleans. I’m not saying that they should trade him. I would rather trade him over Shahed in a lav. Maybe I’m crazy for that, but that’s just me. What would you do? Trade one of them. You had three receivers that are getting interest. Which one are you moving? A Shahed Cooks. For what it’s worth, if you do trade one of these players, it opens up more opportunities for Devon Vele. And feels like you’re not going to get much more until you have a wide receiver position open up. whether that’s trade, injury, whatever. Like again, feels like you kind of have to make a trade. And let’s talk about some other candidates that are on the trade market because it’s not just New Orleans that’s getting calls. There’s a lot of teams out there that are getting calls. The phones are ringing for Jawan Jennings. Jacobe Myers, he’s a red-hot name in trade rumors. Jaylen Wadd has been a hot name. DeAndre Hopkins, Calvin Ridley, there’s been a lot of names out there that have been si teams to monitor and teams to take a look at and players that could be moved ahead of the deadline. Um, we’re going to talk more about this. We’re going to talk about where I think some of these guys end up. And, you know, I I will say that this is kind of an interesting time of the year because the NFL tread deadline, it’s a lot of fun, but it doesn’t always end up having all the fireworks. Now, if you’ve been watching this video, I know you’ve been sitting here thinking, “Oh, damn. That that jacket’s fresh.” I know. Isn’t it? Ain’t it nice? So comfy. I really like it. And I love it because I get to rep the troops. I get to support the troops and I get to rep the best country in the whole wide world. And guess what? The salute to service collection is on sale. And we have a link for you. chatsports.com salute. New Orleans salute. That’s what we’re going for. So, no salute, no salute, whatever you want to say. Click the link in the comments or description of this video. This is the hoodie that I’m wearing. They have jerseys, they have t-shirts, they have hats, they have all sorts of cool memorabilia for salute to service to recognize the troops and to uh show some love to the men and women who defend and protect this amazing country that we get to call home. Support the troops. Salute to service chatports.com salute if you want to get geared up and you want to rep the troops all month long. Now, let’s talk about trading these receivers. Like, if you do want to make a trade and teams want your players, the cards are in your hands. You control it. You get to call the shots. You get to set the prize. Mickey Lumis, do not get fleece. This is a concept that I know is hard for you to understand. Don’t do it. Get a lot in return. Credit where it’s due. You nailed the Marshon Latimore trade. Do that again if you have to. Just please don’t get pleased. Get good value back for these players. Get something in return that’s worthy or overpaying because if teams are desperate, take advantage of their desperation and exploit it and make them pay the f up. Now, like I mentioned, I’m not going to sit here and say a ton of trades are going to happen. Like we saw today uh the Rams make a trade. um that’s just like in my opinion there’s always a lot of hype. There’s always a lot of chatter. There’s always a lot of conversation. There’s a ton of buzz. It’s usually pretty underwhelming. There’s all this smoke. And I’m a believer there. When there’s smoke, there’s fire, but you don’t really get all the fireworks as you think you would in the NFL tread deadline. So, I’m not going to sit here and say that the Saints are going to be super duper active and make a ton of trades. I do think at least one will happen. you have a lot of different options whether you want to stick on the receiver front or if you want to trade a defensive player. Like there’s a lot of ways that you can go about it. I will say don’t be surprised if not a ton happens though. Now regardless of what happens, trade, keep, extend, whatever, the New Orleans Saints need to prioritize adding wide receivers this off season. And I’m not saying sign wide receivers unless something crazy becomes available. Um, draft wide receivers, draft high level wide receivers, draft quality wide receivers, draft players that are complimentary to the guys that are on your roster. Draft players that can be an excellent weapon for the quarterback that you see for the future. Give your team a chance to succeed. Give your quarterback an opportunity to develop and let’s see what happens here. Put the pieces around them and add wide receivers in an emphasis, not wide receiver, wide receivers plural. 1. Mickey Loomis already got fleeced on the Vele deal. It seems like a 4th round pick would be valuable for a 1-7 team that's trying to rebuild. Maxx Crosby was drafted in the 4th round.

  2. I don’t even need to listen to this. The Saints don’t have any players good enough to trade- let’s be honest. First move for anybody who really cares about this team?…….Good bye Loomis!

  3. the rumor that i want to come true is that Mrs. Benson is demoting Mickey Loomis and Jeff Ireland to jobs in stadium parking or janitorial services . . . . . . .

  4. I doubt that they’re gonna trade anyone at this point, it would’ve been smarter to trade them earlier in the season like just after the pats game since now most of the league sees how horrid our recievers are at catching the ball and holding on to it, plenty of players to get rid of but dumbass loomis won’t do anything to help the teams future

  5. Shaheed is clocked as the fastest receiver in the nfl at mph. That being saidbif he was in this years draft what round would he go? He is worth a 2nd rounder to a superbowl contender like the Bills or Broncos. I strongly believe that. He would go 2nd round because of his age. But hes inbhis prime right now.
