Patriots and QB Drake Maye have fully BOUGHT IN to the Mike Vrabel way | NFL Week 8 Recap

Short, sweet to the point. Once the gimmick plays ran out for Cleveland, the Patriots were able to stand strong. I’ll give you first word here, Damen. What impressed you most about this win for your team? Drake May. Drake May. Drake May. Drake May. Not just this game, but during the Patriots 5game winning streak. Drake May is 93 for 120, 1241 passing yards, 10 touchdowns, one interception, 134.1 passer rating. Ladies and gentlemen, we are looking at somebody else that is trying to emerge as the front runner in the MVP conversation because he’s been playing lights out all season long. And guess what? Stefon Diggs isn’t even his number one receiver. It’s Kahan Booty. Kan Booty now. Kahan Booty, first and foremost, respect your story, the struggles that you’ve been through to where you are now, developing one of the best connections in the NFL with Drake May. Come on. And then you’ve got Stefon Diggs who has just been the the Energizer bunny for this team. The leader in the locker room that they needed, the veteran presence, the security, the boost that he gives this team. That was the best offseason free agency signing in the NFL last year. Hands down. I don’t care what nobody says. And we finally got the young buck Tayvon Henderson some carries. 10 for about 75 yards. Now I do have a problem. He coughed the football up. As much as I love me some New England Patriots, as much as I love me some Trayvon Henderson, some Arandre Stevenson, ball security has got to be an overstatement at this point in the running back room for the New England Patriots because they’re too good. The team is too talented in the trajectory that they’re on to the playoffs, maybe to an AFC Championship, maybe even making it to the Super Bowl. They cannot do it without taking care of the football. Wow. You So, you think this team could be a Super Bowl team? Is that what you’re saying? I’m saying if they want to get to where they want to go. If they want to get there, I just want to make sure that we all heard that correctly. It’s a family. That RK tie is working. No kidding. Like a pom pom. Okay. Wait. Who what teams in the AFC? Now, I know there you’ll have an argument for some. How many teams in the AFC are playing better than the Patriots right now? It’s a good question, but I mean it’s a tough question. Are they better than the Chiefs? Yes. Right now? Yes. Oh, they are. Yes. I don’t think so. Then why didn’t you say the Chiefs when I asked the question? Okay. Well, are they better than the Bills? They beat them a couple weeks ago. Okay. Um, we’re just talking AFC here. Are they Indie? Are they better than the Steelers? I think they beat Indie right now. They’re not playing better than Indie, though. That’s not what you asked. You asked, are they bet Okay. Do you think they beat the Chiefs? Yes. Yeah. I don’t. Okay. And they beat Buffalo. And if a healthy Buffalo beats them. Okay. We will leave it there. Um, Ran, any thoughts you have on the Patriots today and what they were able to do against this Browns team? Well, first of all, um, in the, uh, in the video you showed, Braves had his vest on and, um, one of the things on there was T Strong, right? So, u, that was in, um, in honor of the defensive coordinator, uh, Terrell Williams. So, shout out to you, T. Praying for you. Hope you get well. I know you’ll get well. Um, this is a very well- coached football team and it shows. And these guys, you could tell by the way they play football that they believe and they have bought into Mike Vrabel’s brand of football and how they’re going to go about their business. This, you can see in situations, this team is prepared. They understand situational football in all three phases and they play what we always talk about. You you talk about combined complimentary football and they lift each other. If the defense needs to make a play, the defense makes a play. If the offense needs to stay out there on the field a little bit longer to give the defense some rest, they play complimentary football. And I think you saw today Dre May continues to play well. And the part of his game that doesn’t get enough credit, enough people we don’t talk about enough is his ability to run the football, right? when everything and he’s not doing design runs, but when things break down and it’s those manageable situations, he can pull the ball down and run. Had 50 yards rushing today. Leading rush. Oh, no, excuse me. Trayvon was but they ran for 177 yards today. Now, granted, you had a lead, so you’re going to run the ball a little bit more later, but this young man is playing lights out right now. And again, you have to give the credit to this coaching staff. He has a coaching staff that is so knowledgeable in terms of having a head coach uh in Mike Vrabel that understands offense, understands defense, and then you have Josh McDaniels who’s one of the greatest offensive coordinators uh to uh ever call plays in this game. And so I I just think where this organization is right now, you could not have asked for better out of a first year head coach. And isn’t it crazy that Rabbel was fired and then the following year like he couldn’t buy a job at that point in the rotation? You know what I mean? It’s just wild to think about how well coaching quarterback, man. You get a coaching quarterback in this league, you got to be. But one quick thing before we get put them in the Super Bowl and everything. They lost to the Raiders who aren’t very good. They beat Miami. They lost to Pittsburgh. They beat Carolina, Buffalo, New Orleans, Tennessee, and Cleveland. So, it ain’t exactly a murderer row aside from winning at Buffalo, which was a good win that they’ve played over the course of their season. You said that about the Colts. How many weeks? Well, I Yeah. Put some hot sauce on. No, you know, you look good to me. Who? Stanley. We’ll learn more about him soon. In a couple weeks. Yeah, we will.

  2. I think they'll make the playoffs this year, and then head for the Super Bowl next year. They have a very late bye, and I suspect they'll lose a couple of games before then, simply because everyone is so tired. But they have definitely made it clear that, unlike the last two years, teams cannot assume they can beat the Patriots.

  7. They beat teams on their schedule no ? Who Buffalo beat ? Other than the Ravens. So yall ask the NFL for scheduling changes. Whoever that big man is. The Pats are a better team top to bottom than the Bills. Bill putting too much on Josh plate . Pats have better coaching, better defence , their offence looking better.

    Yes we lost to the Raiders and Steelers but we were in both games and could've won both those games and be 8-0.
    We definitely should've won against the Steelers if our running back doesn't fumble at the goal line.

  24. The patriots are way better right now than they were 4 weeks ago when they beat buffalo! This whole narrative that buffalo will win the division is getting annoying! Buffalo might lose 3 more games before facing the pats again and I only see the patriots MAYBE losing 2 before then
