Oct. 27: Postgame Interviews

Uh, so obviously a little bit of a slow start there, but did you like seeing the team’s resiliency to keep fighting and keep trying to come back? It was good to get back in the game after the the slow start like you said. Um, that’s a sign of a group that was going to keep pushing and we know where we’re at. We know we have to push and uh we have to grind to get out of the funk we’re in. Um, but the starts are definitely an issue and we got to clean those up and um, you know, start of the third period was another they got another one on us. So, we got to be able to come out after intermissions or the start of the game and be much more dialed in on uh what we need to do to uh I mean, you just got to create momentum. You can’t be giving up goals. And um it’s uh something we definitely have to keep working to fix. Monty said this morning that he wanted a hard checking game tonight. You guys had a lot of hits, more than Pittsburgh. How do you think you guys followed through on that? Uh definitely could have been better. Um I think we we gave him too much time through the neutral zone and through the in the Dzone there kind of holding on to pucks a lot and and making plays and we we weren’t putting an end to it. Um put an end to it. We can get some more time in the ozone and create our own chances. So um it’s a part of a game or part of the game that we want to be real good at and um there’s always room for improvement and um I would say there’s probably every part of our game right now needs to be another level. And obviously Thomas and uh neighbors are big parts of the offense. How do you guys kind of adjust with them out especially on things like the power play where they’re a big part? It’s tough. Uh two impact players u you know obviously both on the on the power play and drive things um two different two different ways. Jake the way he competes and Tommer he can make plays and and make things happen out of nothing. And um it’s tough to miss those guys but um it happens throughout the year. Every team battles injuries at certain times and someone has to step up and and fill a void. And um a lot of times it takes takes the whole group to be dialed in when you’re missing two impact players. And um that’s what we’re going to need. We’re going to need um all 20 guys in the lineup every night to to be sharp and and be on top of their game to get us going. Uh just a start. Overall thoughts on tonight’s game. Yeah, poor start. Um you know, made a couple of mistakes in the first two minutes and their top two lines made us pay. Do you like seeing that resiliency though from the team to come back and tie it and keep fighting? Yeah, it was great. We know that uh we tie it up 2-2 and then we got a push in the second period. We didn’t push well enough, you know, to be able to take the lead and have them chase the game. Then Joseph obviously got a goal tonight. He’s been pretty noticeable this season. What do you think he’s doing differently this season that seeing that success and being able to move him up the lineup? He’s skating well. He’s checking well. He’s taking pucks to the blue paint. Kyu’s point streak was extended to seven tonight. What have you been seeing from him and how can he step up with these guys out? very talented goal scorer and it doesn’t take many opportunities for him to be able to make a real nice pass or finish in the net. You said you wanted a high energy checking game tonight. Do you think the team did that? No, not even close. Going into the next game kind of what do you want to change? What do you want the mindset tomorrow? Quick turnaround. Well, great thing about sports is, you know, especially in our league, you you get to respond real quick. We didn’t have a good enough effort tonight. We play tomorrow night at home and we got to have a better effort.

  1. It’s officially time to Panic.
Need to figure out a back up goalie scenario fast using personnel and available assets if needed. The team just loses its steam every time a soft one goes in.

  2. Well, we had a great goaltending prospect, then we let him go on waivers….. Might of jumped the gun on that one there blues, a long season though, so here's to hoping for improvements, not holding my breath though..LGB

  3. Honestly never been this infuriated at this team. Zero effort all around. Millionaires playing a game and they can’t even bring forth a decent effort. Pathetic to watch

  4. i just don't understand what's happened to Hof it's got to be mental for him to fall apart so quickly. Tearing him down does no good we have nothing behind him unless we are the luckiest team to find someone from nowhere to sign as your 3rd

  5. What a joke, can't play a full 60, have a coach that can't get it together and we need 2 GM's to run this mess at once.
Gosh that lousy of a season this early.
Get out Douglas and jeez we're paying 2 coaches to not coach.

Have a season in dead last place and then another in last place in the west.

    Franchise is an utter mess.

Every post game is the same script.

Thanks Doug Armstrong. We'll never see you go since this club runs at your beckon and call.
