NBA LIVE! Los Angeles Lakers vs Milwaukee Bucks | October 28, 2025 | Bucks vs Lakers 2K26 Live

Grant Hill and Brent Barry and our sideline reporter Ally Leforce. This is Brian Anderson. Ally, take it away. Well, guys, LeBron James arguably the most versatile player in league history. He said, quote, “I don’t have a position. I’m not a point guard, a shooting guard, a small forward, a power forward, or a center. I’m just a ball player. I do a little bit of everything and whatever it takes to win. That’s my job description.” This guy’s one of one, Ally. Thank you. Well, Grant, we’ve got two savvy veteran teams on the court, so you don’t expect a lot of mistakes or sloppy play tonight. Yeah, definitely a lot of experience on the floor, so teams will play the right way. These guys know exactly what they’re doing. If both squads can keep things tight, we could be in for a very competitive game. So, let’s take a look at the Los Angeles Lakers starting lineup. We’ve got LeBron James. He’s out there with DeAndre Aton, Ruy Hachimura is out there with Luca Donuch. And it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. And from Milwaukee, they’ve got Gary Trent, Miles Turner out there with Giannis Anakumbo. Then there’s Kyle Kosma. And it’s Anthony in at the point guard position. Now here’s Ana Kmpo. Back to Kosma. Just five to shoot. Pulls up. Donic grabs the miss. Down low and slam dunk by James. Just effortless as LeBron racks up another easy dunk. Pass to Anthony. Now here’s Trent. Tight defense on him and he can’t get that one. Now to Aimura to the middle. Donic just doubled. Aiden with it. the shot off that time. Oo, excellent D there from Turner. Here’s Trent. Rebound by the Lakers. A rare miss for him at point blank range. That’s one he’d like to have back. And the officials call goalending. So, they’ll award the basket. He almost blocked that shot in time. Just a man a second late. And LeBron, even at this age, still with his size, such a force. trying to find a spark here. Yes, indeed. A rough stretch offensively. They could really use a basket. Anthony misses. Yeah, better than giving up the layup. You want to go in there and use the hard foul. They did it there. That’s aggressive attitude defensively. And the shot goes. When you watch Luca play, you can’t forget he’s 6’7. He can more than hold his own inside. And that was the mobile one drive. Little resistance to the finish line. Yeah, staying with it and looking to expand this margin. Hardos takes like that will certainly help. Now here’s Trent. Koozma up top. Knocked away. Oh, it’s stolen by Donic. Aimura against Koosma. Aimura up top. Kicks it to Donic. The Lakers with the rebound. Here’s Aiden. He’s now one for two with that bucket. Aiden so big inside. He turns a miss into an opportunity. Timeout called Milwaukee. Well, Brent, for this Milwaukee organization, how big was keeping Giannis? Well, BA, could you just give me another synonym for massive? Like, I’ll take all of them because obviously it is all about Giannis. And the title in 2021 helped big time to keep him in Milwaukee, but imagine if they lost him and went back to square one. You just don’t replace guys who are this special. Go. And just under 2 and 1/2 minutes elaps here in the first. Half to the outside. Pass to Koozma. Trent up top. Now Kosma. Good chance here for Anakmpo. Off the mark and the drought continues. Yeah, that miss might stick with him for a little while. That’s kind of a shootound jumper if I’ve ever seen one. Donic with the bucket. They played with fantastic energy from the opening tip. Yeah, you wondered if they would take some time to find their agame. They did it at jump ball. They’ve been awesome to me. Now here’s Koozma and a great assist by Ana Kmpo and that one goes in. I think the defense was trying to outthink Kyle. Koozma thought he would be inside. Instead, he hits him with the floater. Here’s Donic. Eight-point game. Pass to Reeves. Shot clock at five. And the call will be against Kyle Koosma. That’s his first foul. Just under three and a half minutes elapsed here in the first quarter. for three. James, how about the reach from Giannis that time? He does not make any shot easy. Here’s Koozma. Good work defensively by James. Hard to convert against that kind of defensive pressure. Those are all the little things about effort there. He just gets out there and contests and that’s just enough. They’ve controlled the paint so far. That’s been the difference. Yeah, the bully ball tonight has paid dividends. Highly effective down there with the physical play. Now here’s Koozma. Pass to Kmpo and he comes up for the bucket. Well, he can go either through or around the defense. That’s what you love about Giannis and his agility and his strength. Here’s Donic. Here’s Reeves. Three-pointer. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Boy, I like their energy coming in. Terrific execution so far. Well, if there were four or five boxes to check in terms of the game plan tonight, they might have checked six. I mean, they’re doing everything out there. Three-pointer Anthony. And the jam by an Koopo. And Giannis just playing right now with a very highly revved motor. Over to the wing. Pass to Aimura to the paint. Here’s Reeves. And he caught that pass in full stride on his way to the big slam. So far, they’re owning both ends of the floor. We’ll see if they can keep this going. Like tonight, that all all the hustle plays have meant so much to this team. Now, just sustain some of that energy and keep comfortable. Timeout called the Bucks. And you look at the career that LeBron has put together. One of the all-time greats. Amazingly, lived up to the hype he had coming out of high school. Heat. Heat. Excuse me. Well, the Bucks shooting an unremarkable 30% on the first and the immense pressure LeBron has had since day one of the NBA. Many others would have folded. Grant, they’re very true, BA. The expectations he had were just insane. Anything less than a top five player all time would be a disappointment. That’s not fair to ask of any player coming into league, much less a high schooler. Tucson. And that one misses. And just one of the most impressive titles in league history, guys. The 2020 Lakers winning it all in the Orlando bubble. A testament to LeBron James and that team. He hits the second from the line. You know that 2020 bubble title for the Lakers, what made it so difficult? You know, BA, the mental grind of all that time in the bubble, three months in the same place. NBA players are used to being in four cities in a week. So, it really was a different kind of challenge for them. Now, here’s Donic. And he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So, he’ll take two free throws. And this team’s offensive catalyst. Donuch puts pressure on the defense every possession. And you look at the intangibles of Luca Donuch. He has some of the best court awareness in the league. And that shows up most with his passing and body control. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. And he makes a first. And the way Donic can feel the defenders around him speaks to his great court sense, Grant. No question. And the elite footwork he has makes the most of it. I mean, one of the best at shielding defenders with his body. It’s really how he can navigate through a defense with ease. Donic hits them both. And when we talk about franchise players, guys who can carry a team, Luca Donuch is one of the few guys in that category. Now here’s an Kmpo. Pass to Kosma Kmpo inside. Check by James for Los Angeles. They’ve got eight of 13 attempts to go and stolen by Anthony. Here’s Koosma. Gets it to drop now. Two of four. Koozma rise and fire. Aimura outside. Donic against Anthony. The three from Aiden. He can’t hit that time. Milwaukee goes the other way with it. Here’s Trent. The offensive rebound. Here’s Turner and he’s going to the line for two. The officials saw contact while he was going up. That one on Donic. Hey, every team wants a guy who can block shots and they certainly want a guy who can hit threes. Miles Turner does both. Gray. Yes, he does. Ba. Miles has led the league in blocks multiple times. He also shot it well from the three-point range. He’s just a unique skill set. It’s really hard to find guys like Turner. And the first one at the line is good. You know, and where the Bucks seem to dominate every year is on the glass, particularly at the defensive end. Number one in the league the last four seasons. And so Turner nails them both. A grant, I guess, for the Bucks. Hey, you can’t teach size and they’re good fundamentally as well, BA. I mean, they block out. They fight to maintain position. If you’re going to beat them, they probably won’t be with second chance points. The shot by James. No good. Well, they shouldn’t be giving that shot to anyone, but they certainly shouldn’t be giving it to him. That’s a big break for the defense. Back to Porter. Puts up a three. No good that time. The Lakers in the lead. It’s James on the wing. The rebound by Turner. Turner’s got four rebounds now. to the inside. Portoris and then Portis with the dunk. More and more signs of the skill set of Torian Prince as he finds an open teammate and Kevin Porter picks up the foul. That’s his first foul of the game. And some changes here for the Lakers. Vanderbilt comes in for LeBron and Smart subbed in for Donic. Hey yo, right here. Here’s ABC. Pass to Reeves. Here’s ABC. Fires from deep. Fires in the triple. You don’t want to let him get into a rhythm from out there. The Bucks trail right wing. Here’s Prince. Well, quiet so far offensively searching for his first points of the game and his first shot of the game. No good. That’s a shocker there. Did not expect him to miss from that range. He’s got to be shooting close to 60% from there. Here’s Coffee. The shot that time not on target. Some solid defense from Hayes. Pass to ABC. Back to Smart. Up and over Porter and is good off the back rim and in. And it’s an 11-point Los Angeles lead. Defensively, you can’t afford to get stuck on the pick. That’s one that the coaches will watch tomorrow with that player. You hate to see him give up in that situation. Now here’s Porter. Shot clock at six. Some solid defense from Hayes. The Lakers shooting 53% setting the tone right from the opening tip. Pass to Reeves. lays it up and banks it in. He has seven. They’re punishing those late defensive rotations, getting good looks inside throughout the half. Things just don’t seem to be clicking for them offensively. Yeah, they really need to find a way to get back on track. Now here’s Portoris back to Porter. Nails it from three. And Portoris knows this system well. Try to make the good to great pass. Porter’s gone one for two from the three-point line. Vanderbilt against Portis. Pass to Reeves. And here’s Vanderbilt. And we’ve heard LeBron James say he’s obsessed with win or bust. And this Lakers franchise certainly has that same approach. But aside from their 2020 title, there’s been a lot of frustration. Now, can he and the Lakers get back where they expect to be? Take a break. Take a break. First one falls for him. Heat. Heat. and he makes both free throws. You know, for this Bucks team, they seem to play together as well as any team we’ve seen recently. Yeah, this team has a bunch of players who complement each other very well, and they’ve got so many different ways that they can play on the floor. That’s what makes them so successful. Well, that and Giannis, man, he made sure to get his money’s worth on that foul. Heat. Heat. Extension two. The first free throw is good. Porter hits them both. Los Angeles shooting 55%. An ideal start so far. Smart for three. Prince grabs the miss. And the Bucks shooting around 32% to be again this game. And a miss there with a chance to cut the lead to single digits. 111 left in the opening quarter and we’re going to have a jump. Jump off. You two and so it’s Milwaukee with it. Poris outside. pass to Coffee. Five to shoot. They get it back. Portoris gets the bucket. A big board and a bigger put back from Bobby Portoris. The Lakers in the lead. Smart outside. Outside Vanderbilt. It’s Smart on the wing. Pass to Vanderbilt. Here’s Reeves. Takes the three. Can’t get it to fall. Now three for five in this one. And the basket by Coffee. That was execution to perfection. Textbook transition offense. Yeah, once you burst through a seam like that, you got to look right towards the rim. Sweet play. And so he draws the foul headed to the line to shoot a pair. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. The first one falls. Both shots good from the strike. Making shots at the line. You need a good routine and he certainly has one. Here’s Prince. And that does it for the first quarter. The Lakers on top. They’re up by eight. Let’s take a quick break and then it’s on to the second quarter after this. If you’re just joining us, we played through one quarter in this one and from what we’ve seen from the Lakers, what’s your take so far? Well, you have to credit their effort effort on the defensive end. It set the tone for this contest. That defense has been infectious here as everybody stepping up aggressively on that end. All right, Brad, you’re part of the front office. Take back the curtain a little here. What do you guys do that the average fan doesn’t know about? Well, the draft process is a lot more in depth than people would ever realize. And one of the biggest things BA that you have to take into account is what it is, not just talentwise you’re inviting into the building, but the character and how it fits around what you’ve already established. So taking one guy that might be a player that you think is a great player might not be great for the current team that you have. And so the layers, they run pretty deep. So on the floor for the Lakers to kick off the second quarter. Luca Donic is out there with Marcus Martin. Then it’s Ruachimura. Then it’s DeAndre Aton. And it’s James in at the four. Two stops. Nice. He misses the free throw. And he might not be the biggest guy on on the court, but Cole Anthony is explosive, Gray. He is. I mean, he surprises you with how much lift he gets. Fearless when he’s going at the rim. He’s caught a number of defenders offguard with that burst. Good on the second one. Well, Los Angeles shooting has been good around 52% from the field. Donic passes to Aiden. shoots over Portoris and the sweet roll that time on the rim. That one falls. Eightton’s got six points. Eightton showing it could be a problem on other spots on the floor, not just the post. Smart against Trent over Smart. Trent shot is off. I don’t know if you can credit the defense for that. It was just a missed opportunity. Aimura outside. Six to shoot. Pass to James over Trent. That one’s good from James on the assist from Hachimura. Give him eight. Well, Hachimura not known as a playmaker, but unselfish play that is part of his game. Cortis the pass to Anthony. Fires from the line. Oh, and he got fouled on his way up. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. And let’s take a moment here to get your take, guys, on the scoring so far for the Lakers. Well, great play down low. I mean, you expect the defense to adjust, collapse maybe, but that should open up things on the perimeter later in the game. Well, we should also mention how hard they’ve been working on the offensive glass, just coming up with second chance scoring opportunities. Those can be deflating. The free throw drops for Anthony. And Anthony drops them both. Here’s Donic. Six points for him. Smart outside. Donic against Anthony. Pass to James. Fool LeBron with the slam. Ah, sometimes LeBron just likes to take it all out on the rim that time on display. And another look at the mobile one drive as he put it into overdrive. And he’s been incredible this game. And plays like that one show you how locked in he is. Here’s Trent and Aiden pulls it down. The Lakers have gotten off to a perfect four for four start of the second. Let’s check in with our reporter Ally Leforce. Thanks a lot. Well, Jiannis Bo has won MVPs, defensive player of the year, and a championship. But he says, quote, I am not satisfied as the leader of this team. That’s the tone I set. I don’t care about trophies. I care about getting better, and that’s what I’ve done my entire career. Brian, he stays focused. Nose to the grindstone, Ally. Thanks for that. Now here’s Anthony inside. Portoris. Oh, a clear foul there on the missed shot. So he’ll get a pair at the line. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. If there’s one drawback to Bobby Portoris in his game is that emotionally you just want him to box that in at times. But that passion, man, sometimes it’ll really get your teammates going. Two, two. He’s off on the first. So he comes up empty at the line and for him that is an ugly trip to the line. Rarely do you see him do that. Hachimura right side. Donic outside. Steps back and shoots. Milwaukee with the rebound. Here’s Anthony. And so the ball out of bounds. Smart tucks it last. And now about 3 minutes gone in the second quarter here. Come on. Anthony the pass to Anna Kmpo. Clock at six and Jiannis Anampo picks up that foul. That’s his first foul of the game. And great job to establish position and square up. Anthony against Donic. Right here. Right here. Watch the James outside and a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. Just shake your head at the size of LeBron James and once he gets into the paint and gets pinalled around, he gets that contact and finds free throws. shooting two. First free throw is good. And the thing you marvel about with LeBron James is just the consistency of his excellence. He’s been a top five player in the league now for two decades. Both free throws good from James. The Bucks really having a tough go here now. A timeout called by Milwaukee. They’re giving up a lot of points in the paint. That’s something they have to address here. Yeah, coach knows that. They know that in the timeout they’re going to hear about it. Make the adjustment. Heat. Heat. Just under three and a half minutes played here in the second quarter. Koozma down low working on Aimura. Koosma the pass to Anthony. Down to five on the shot clock. Lets it go from deep and the Bucks miss again for Los Angeles. They’ve gone four for six here on the second. James can’t get it to go. Perfect timing to rise up and challenge the shot inside. Yeah, not easy to do there. And and that’s a guy that you can tell takes every possession defensively very seriously. Oh, I would love to see Giannis in the dunk contest. Wouldn’t that be sweet? Smart outside. Aiden passes to Donic on a Koopo with the block and he’s able to get it back for Milwaukee. They’ve gotten only one of four shots to go in. Pass to Portoris over Ashimura. Goes back up. Blocked. Nice timing on that contested shot. Just reading it well was Ruie trying to go for a lob there. Excellent defense and anticipation to stop it. Anthony in the post guarded by Donic and another shot. Rebound by the Lakers. Donic has got six rebounds here tonight. James finds Donic to the paint. Rejected by Ana Kmpo. Get down on the block. Giannis is going to use that length defensively and get his hands all over any shot attempt. Trent on the wing. Check by James from 11 ft away and the Bucks miss again for Los Angeles. They’ve gone five of 10 in the second quarter and they doubled up Donic from behind the ark. James can’t get it to go as a big once you get position inside it allows you to fight and come away with a lot of tough boards. two and he knocks down the first one. Miles Turner, he’s checked in for the Bucks. The Lakers also with a sub. Reeves is checked in. And Anthony drops both. The Lakers shooting 45% here. the second. Aimura outside. Here’s Reeves. He’s got nine. Bails the wideopen jumper. He’s got 11. And just executing at a high level. I mean, taking what the defense allows and putting in the work. Basketball IQ is something that gets talked about, but it’s importance to a team. showing up here running plays that turn into scores. Here’s Trent. The Lakers getting their last shot to go. 4-3. Rebounded by the Lakers. Donic has got seven rebounds in the game. Unloads from 13. Eighton. The shot no good. Good D by Anakmpo. Uh DeAndre Aiden was so valuable in that 2021 playoff run for the Suns. Shot over 65% the entire postseason on their way to that NBA Finals appearance. And an emphatic jam on the lob. Yeah, you could throw that pass just about anywhere, even the top of the square for Giannis to go and get. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. And the former 1-1, the first overall draft pick, Aiden. He He’s just a different matchup. that size BA and that great touch around the rim. He runs the floor. He’s a big presence down there. You just don’t see a ton of centers like him around this league like you once did in the 80s and early 90s. Aiden’s game presents a pretty hefty matchup issue. Heat. Heat. And the Bucks with some changes. Prince has checked in for Koosma. Coffee comes in for Trent. And it’s Porter Jr. in for Anthony to the middle. Hayes the pass to Vanderbilt and Vanderbilt slams it in. He’s undersized 44, but his hops level the playing field. Pass to Prince. Here’s Anna Kmpo. And already Giannis has a regular season MVP, a finals MVP, plus a defensive player of the year award, winning all three trophies by the age of 26. Excellent. Two seconds. No good on the free throw. The team just cannot get into a groove from the free throw line. It’s a common problem for them. And the second free throw is good. Well, there’s so much dominance in Giannis’s game and what he can do, especially inside the three-point arc. It’s the free throw line that he’s still working to perfect. Pass to Vanderbilt. Here’s ABC. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. Take break. Take break. That one’s off. And he’s good on the second. The Bucks shooting a rough 29% from the field here. Quarter the pass to Turner. Here’s Coffee. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got four rebounds now. Here’s Donic and he banks in the layup. Donic has got 10 points. And trust me, when the D’s slow to react, he’ll be the first guy to make them pay. Well, I know they don’t have mobile devices out there for texting, so they might as well talk to one another. So, it’s Milwaukee now. The Lakers getting their last shot to go. Here’s Prince and the layup is good off the glass. Prince is such a tough player out there. Does not mind the bump. Pass to Vanderbilt. Rejected by Ko. Here’s Coffee and he gets it to go. Now two of six in the game. And this is a sign of Giannis and his growth. The floor awareness now looking outstanding. Here’s ABC. The shot by Reeves. No good. The Bucks shooting around 29%. Quarter number two. Prince with the bucket. Wow. Prince has a little daylight and that shot looked true. Now here’s Donic. He’s got 10. Pass to ABC. Takes a three. Offensive board and they’ll get another chance. Back to Donic from deep. Sinks it. What range from downtown. Donic has got seven points for the quarter. We’ve seen why Donic is a perennial MVP candidate. He’s taken over completely at the offensive end. Here’s Reeves. He’s got 11. An impressive shot blocker. Turner’s combination of size and timing on defense is so valuable. Here’s Coffee. That is ABC with a rebound. Well, Los Angeles doing it. A 48% clip from the floor. Here’s Donic. And that one’s long. That’s a shot they want just about on every possession if they can get it. He doesn’t make them all, but still very much a high percentage look. And the foul on the shot. So, he’ll take two from the free throw line. Two shots. Last and he drops a first. And that one goes in. Two from the line that time. 127 left in the half. The Lakers shooting at a 43% clip during the second. Now here’s Dantic. He’s got 13. The three ball. Good. That’s his fifth bucket in nine attempts. Such a critical part of how their offense is going to flow. Things are only working when he seems to be on the floor. Pass to Porter. Here’s Prince. Five points in the game. It’s Hayes with the rebound. Hayes has got his fifth rebound in this one. Vanderbilt. The pass to Hayes. Here’s Reeves. And he’s going for the lob. Oh, what a nice defensive play to disrupt the lob. left side. Porter over Donic and misses it off the right side of the rim. Kick it out. Kick it out. The turnaround. It’s not going to go for him. And so it’s Los Angeles up 14 as we wrap up the quarter. They’ve done well to disrupt the opposition playing inspired defense. And don’t go far. We’ll be right back. And now, the 2K Sports Halftime Show. Greetings to each and every one of you watching at this very moment. Uh, I’m Ernie Johnson. Kenny the Jetmith is here. Shaq is here. One half is behind us. Welcome to the 2K Sports halftime show. It’s the Lakers out on top at halftime. They lead by 14. Kenny, how’d you feel about it? What a true demonstration of dominance. They made a commitment to owning the glass and they made good on it. Blocking out, competing hard in traffic. That’s the way you should play on both ends of the court. And now Shaq, let’s get your opinion on Milwaukee. They really need to focus on finding quality shots. They can’t create for themselves in the second half. Things will only get worse. And I’m talking about the high percentage looks, not contested threes. And that’ll do it for our halftime report. Stay tuned for the second half about to get underway. And after a very lopsided first half, we’ll see if things play out a little more evenly in the second. Here’s Donic. We’ve got Cole Anthony. Jiannis Ana Kmpo is out there with Kyle Kosma. Then there’s Gary Trent. And it’s Turner in at the center position. That’s the group for Milwaukee right now. Now pass to Reeves. Six on the shot clock. Now here’s Aiden. shoots over Turner. Aiden, no good. Here’s Anna Kmpo. Good work defensively by James. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting the ball at 46% from the floor. Out left to the wing. Aimura outside pass to Reeves. fires the three. That shot off. Milwaukee goes the other way with And last season, Giannis passing Kareem Aldra as the Bucks all-time leading scorer. He wants to finish his career in Milwaukee. So that total bound to grow. And how about that replay, man? You got to appreciate the hustle on defense. Let’s see if that block can amp up this team. I mean, they’re looking for anything to get themselves going. And if you’re just joining us, we play just over a minute here in the third. Donic against Anthony. Back to Turner. And he got the whistle on the way up. So he’ll be headed to the line for a pair. It’s going to be on DeAndre Aton. Nice physical play by Turner getting to the strike and grab both Giannis and Kareem dominated the paint, but they get it done differently. Yeah, that they do. Kareem possibly the best ever in the post, whereas Giannis might be the most dominant slasher and driver in league history. Two shots. And that one falls for Turner. When you think about Turner, one of the best shot blockers in the league who can also score at all three levels. Hayes has checked in for Los Angeles. He does not get the second one. Boy, we’re seeing inspired play out of them and that’s certainly reflected in the score down low. Pass to James over Koozma. Five on the clock. Hayes finds Aimura over Turner and there’s the shot clock violation. Couldn’t get the shot off in time. Well, Milwaukee shooting a low 30% on the floor. Pass to Koozma. The three is up. Donic grabs the miss. Donic has got nine rebounds now. It’s stolen by Koosma. Strength for three and Giannis with the dunk. Great game for him. Double double. Now, this is what makes Giannis such an elite player. his ability to score in those difficult situations down low with lots of bodies around. Let it fly and again no good by the Lakers. A little over two and a half minutes off the clock in this final half of play. So it’ll be two free throws. He was fouled in the act of shooting. Well, Giannis is one of those guys. You look at the end of the season, he’s going to be up there in free throw attempts per game. Shooting two. And the first one at the line is good. He’s Perfect from the line this time. A touch over 2 and 1/2 minutes of basketball played here in the third quarter. Time called here. Lost decides to talk it over. And now that they have some time to get a little bit of rest, it’s time for these players to regroup while hydrating themselves with some Gatorade, looking to gain a boost of energy as they continue to play in this game. And staying hydrated is the only surefire way to do it. An athletes body doesn’t have the same power and stamina without proper hydration. These guys will be sure to use this timeout wisely. Heat up Heat. Heat. Aimura finds Hayes. Donic outside beyond the arc. Rebounded by the Bucks and Koozma the bucket on the assist from Anakmpo. Anakmpo has got three assists now in this one. Outstanding triple drive. And that replay was brought to you by Mobile One. Yeah, he made that drive look easy, but that had a high degree of difficulty. Pass to Aimura. And here’s Hayes. Back to Aimura. And it’s slammed in by Aimura. And Hachimura at 68. No problem for him to get up. Anthony the pass to Koosma. Out to Anthony. Can’t hit that one. Some solid defense from Hayes. The Lakers in the lead. Watching Murl from long range. The Bucks have got just two of six in the second half. Pass to Kmpo. laid it in with a nice touch off the window. Honor Koopo’s got six points in the quarter. Sometimes as an analyst, you love to talk about strategies to slow down a guy who’s got it going. With Giannis, I don’t I don’t really have anything. Here’s Reeves. He’s got 14. Clock at six. Oh, and Turner with a block. Here’s Koozma. It’s Hayes with the rebound. This is why you want ball movement and player movement. And that’s made it hard for the defense to key in on any one individual. And there’s the basket. And the whistle blows. Chance at a three-point play here. Going to the line for one. Bobby Portoris has checked in for Turner. Smarts checked in for the Lakers. Free throw good. Hachimura Rui Hachimura is one of those guys who you’re assured of as putting in the work in the offseason. His shot has gotten a little bit more accurate and the confidence that he plays with continues to grow. Koosma finds Poris over Hayes. It’s deflected. Here’s James. Great D that time from Anakmpo. The Bucks have gone cold here in this third quarter. Just three of nine. Up again. Controls the rebound and the put back. He really gets in perfect position for the follow. Just a terrific read out to the wing. Pass to Reeves. Got a hand on it. How about the reach from Cordis there out of bounds as Los Angeles keeps possession work. Portis with the steal and here’s the fast break and Yiannis with the dunk. This is anyone’s game now and they have the momentum. Yeah, this is not the team that we saw in the first quarter right now. Way more confident out there and the cohesion of the team is impressive. Here’s Reeves. 14 points for him. And it’s Smart missing. Anthony against Smart on the wing. Kosma to the inside. Here’s an Ampo. Count it. Good. And now just a four-point Laker lead. They’re making smart adjustments, setting guys up for success. a possession just way more efficient I think here tonight taking smarter better shots moving the ball around that’s helped them to get back in the ball game the screener was leaning a bit right there his feet may not have been planted pretty obvious call by the officials got to hold firm or or you’re going to get a call and the Bucks making a change here Prince has checked in no question this offense has some firepower and they’re looking very confident in all that they’re doing right now. It’s Koozma with the miss. He’s been tremendous at corelling misses all night long. Yeah, it’s almost like he’s got a magnet on that ball here tonight. He’s in the right spot all the time. And James gets it to go. And another huge night from LeBron James. He’s been doing it since 2003. Trent on the wing. Pass to Portoris. Soft touch off the glass. Portoris has got eight. Some toughness that Portoris brings to the court. He’s willing to finish through contact. Now Aimura, five points in the game. Milwaukee with the rebound. Portis has got six rebounds in the game. Oh, and there’s the whistle on the shot. So, two free throws for him coming up. It’s on LeBron James. Torian Prince has such a great motor and the physical nature of his play. You got to appreciate that aggressiveness. And a chance for a moment to check out the scoring breakdown for the Lakers. Well, you love their unselfish play, keeping that ball moving. Good shot, too. Great. That’s winning basketball. Well, they’ve also put an emphasis on driving inside in this game. The defense hasn’t been able to stop them from finding those gaps. The first free throw is good. And some changes here for the Bucks. Coffee comes in for Koosma and it’s Porter Jr. in for Trent. DeAndre Eaton, he’s checked in for Los Angeles. Vanderbilt comes in for LeBron. That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. A tight game here in Milwaukee. Aimura outside. Smart finds Aiden and it’s in there. Aiden’s got eight points. Yeah, Aidton just swallowing up the defender there and then completes the play pass to Porter. Coffee on the wing. Here he goes. Ooh, excellent D there from Aiden. Well, Los Angeles shooting around 41%. Aimura outside now. Vanderbilt. Plenty of space and he hits the jumper for two. Vanderbilt’s gotten his second bucket of the game. Easy look when the defender isn’t fighting over the screen. The coach over there just asking for one simple thing and that’s some effort. Got burned on that one. That one goes in. Well, the defender didn’t move him off one bit and Tory Prince collects two more. Pass to ABC. Outside Vanderbilt. Here’s ABC. He’s guarded by Porter. Here’s ABC. That one is off. Milwaukee goes the other way with it. Here’s Prince. Off target from three-point range. The Lakers in the lead. And the call will be against Bobby Portoris. That’s foul number two for him. And the Bucks making a change here. Turner’s checked in. Time called here. Los Angeles decides to talk it over. Well, they’ve been turning that ball over way too much and they really need to address this if they want to win this game. Huddle up, boys. down. Heat. Heat. Keep going. And so it’s the Lakers with it. 17 points was their biggest margin. Just five on the clock. Smart for three. The rebound by the Bucks. Anthony left side. And yeah, he he still was moving at the point of contact. Shoot two. First free throw is good. and Anthony drops them both. And for the Lakers, they’re shooting just 26% in the third. Pass to Aiden. Shot clock at five. Here’s Aimura and they get it back. Second chance effort and there’s a whistle. He’ll head to the line to shoot two. Well, the defense respects Aton’s ability to score, especially from that area on the floor. He becomes dangerous. The first one falls. And when Aiden isn’t playing basketball, either the live or video game version, he’s often drawing. Yeah. I mean, he grew up wanting to be an architect. I actually hear that he loves blueprints, but probably his most famous sketch himself dunking on Joel Embiid his rookie year. Both good from the line that time. Well, Aiden and efficiency go hand in hand. I mean, this guy’s field goal percentage is on cloud9. Here’s Portoris. Oh, rejected by Eightton. Aimura outside. Hits the fadeaway. Aimura’s got seven points for the quarter. Just sticking with that play. Smart not to back off because the defense puts a little elbow into him. Shooting two. That’s good from Porter. Luca Donic has checked in for Aimura. Porter hits them both. Now here’s Donic. 13 points in the game. Pass to Vanderbilt. Fade away. Rebound. Milwaukee Mortis has got his seventh rebound here tonight. The Bucks trail. Oh, got that one up quick. Anony’s got nine. To leave a guy like that wide open from range. Big mixup. Donic outside out to the right wing. Here’s ABC. Pass to Smart. Hey, from beyond the ark. Here’s Aidan. And that one goes. He’s shooting five of nine in this one. Well, you bump me and I’m going to bump you back as not afraid to get physical with the defender. Anthony against Donic. Anthony in the post. Can’t connect from short range. And we’ve watched three so far in this one. The Lakers on top. Up by four. And we’re coming right back. Be sure to stay with us as we get set for quarter number four. And while we have a chance, let’s go to our State Farm assist of the game. Yeah, just shredding the defense with that feed. Zero chance to stop that. That’s what great passing will do for you right there. Dissecting the defense with that play. Man, I know I speak for all of us when I say I can’t wait to see what kind of finish awaits us here in the fourth quarter. And so in the game for Los Angeles, they’ve got DeAndre Aiden, LeBron James out there with Luca Donuch. And it’s ABC in at the small forward position. Trent shot is off. Well, if you believe in the numbers, that mid-range shot is not a high value shot even with little or no defense on you. Yep, that one goes. And the Lakers lead by six. And Milwaukee shooting at about 34% here in this game. Here’s Anna Kmpo. Oh, nice fake, but the layup’s off the mark. And for Los Angeles, they’re shooting around 41%. Donic outside. It’s good. He’s six for 12 from the floor. Looks like they’re gaining some confidence here in crunch time. And right now is when you have to lay it on the line between the two teams. They’ve clearly been the aggressor. And no lack of aggression on that move. Good for the 2K drive. The energy and focus on display. Saw an opportunity to get inside and they continue to build at this lead. Now here’s Trent. Pass to Turner. Shoots over Aton. Turner. No good. The Lakers in the lead. Donic up top. He’s guarded by Anthony. And Donic with the jam. They’re locked in and focus on making each possession a success. That’s exactly how they got the lead. They ended up having multiple possessions in a row with good quality shots. Knocked them down and game is fully in their control. James passes to Donic. Another miss by Donic. And you never want to give a shooter like him a clean look. And the Bucks miss again. The Lakers have gone three of four in the fourth. looking confident on offense. Pass to Aiden. He shoots. That one falls. Great setup by Donic. Donic has got seven assists in the game. DeAndre happy to shoot at that range. Nice stroke. Timeout called Milwaukee. You know, one guy who’s been getting it done is Luca Donuch. Yeah, the defense has not provided any threat to stop him out there. So, it should come to no surprise that he continues to attack the basket. Yeah. Heat. Heat. Heat. The Lakers making a switch here. Aimura’s checked in. And let’s send it over to Alli Leforce. Hey guys, during that last break, I heard Doc Rivers as he talked with the team. Point blank, he wants better shot selection. He told them, “We’re settling, guys. Come on. We’re not being patient out there. We’re not working the ball around. That has to change right now. And Ally, thanks. Now, here’s Trent. Shot clock at six. Misses off the right iron. Now Los Angeles with it. It’s been made unanswered for them. Here’s Aimura. Oh, and he took a hard foul on the shot. So, he’ll head to the line to shoot a pair. It goes on Cole Anthony. Oh, man. Putting points on the board. The defense being tough on Aimura. two. And he makes a first And both free throws good for Aimura. The Bucks have gotten nothing to go so far in the fourth. They’re 0 for six. Here’s Trent. Ooh, plenty of contact on that shot. Officials call the foul and he’ll take two free throws now. Come on. Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. and he knocks down the first one. Shred hits them both now. Los Angeles with it. They’ve gone on a 10-2 run. Not allowing much. Hi Merurl from long range. The Bucks shooting a low 31%. Their offense is lacking. Here’s Koosma and the foul is called. He missed it. So, he’s got a couple of free throws coming his way. It’s on Ruie Aimura. Good at getting defenders to compromise on the inside. Koozma drawing a foul that time. Well, the 27th pick in 2017, Kyle Kosma made first team all rookie. He was displaying just sort of significantly better shooting in the pros than he did in college at Utah. Shooting two. That’s good from Koozma. Well, you look at Koozma shooting percentages. His rookie season still his most efficient. Grant. Yeah, BA. I mean, he stayed at about that same level, but as an offensiveminded player, if he can progress a little, that would certainly help his value. Hits one, then misses the second attempt from the line. There’s all these little attributes to Kyle Kosma’s game that you start to see show themselves. He’s developing as a passer and as a rebounder. I think his best pass still ahead of him. Now here’s Aiden Aimura outside. And again, the Lakers no good. The Bucks have gotten nothing to go so far in the fourth. They’re 0 for six. Stolen by Aton. Donic outside. Pass to Aimura. Now James kicks it to Donic. Five to shoot. And the step back jumper is good. Donic has got 19 points. And just such an accurate shooter. I mean, give Luca any room to get a shot off and he’ll take it. Anthony, the pass to Anakmpo. Back to Anthony. lets the three fly and the Bucks miss again. That’s another just bad decision on a night full of those. His shot selection tonight has been questionable at best. Aim in the postma on him. He’s trying to force his way into a rhythm, but that’s not helping the team. Trent uses the glass to finish the layup. Trent’s got four points now in the quarter. All the way to the bucket. No resistance. Just swipe the candy from him. Here’s Donic and he’ll draw the foul. He’ll head to the line for two. And you can’t let Donic get this type of positioning because then you’re pretty much forced to foul him. That’s good from Donic. Donic hits them both and Milwaukee shooting at 32% from the floor. Not good. Pass to Koosma. Out to the right wing. Here’s Anthony. That one no good. Good D by Dantic. Hard to convert against that kind of defensive pressure. Those are all the little things about effort there. He just gets out there and contests and that’s just enough. Trust Donic to make smart moves with the ball. He puts it in the hands of a guy with a wideopen shot. Here’s an Akmpo. The Lakers getting their last shot to go. He’s got it. His ninth make out of 15 tries. And he’s leading the charge for them, but let’s be honest, he needs more help if they’re going to get out in front. Yeah. Doing anything he can right now to get his team to cut into this lead and give them a chance. Now, here is James. Here’s Aiden. Welltimed pass and he goes straight to the bucket for the layup. Payton rolls to the hoop for two at 71. Very fluid to the right side. Here’s an Ampo back to Anthony. Tries to break his ice and it’s Turner that time on the assist by Anthony. The agility of Turner is huge in these pick and rolls. He’s hard to prevent from scoring in these situations. And yep, it’s good. Aimura’s got 13 in the second half. Two teammates connecting right there. Slick feed. Trent on the wing. Three-pointer. Unable to get that one. So the Lakers will take it the other way to the middle and it’s slammed in by AI Mura. Just love it that LeBron can scan the floor and pick the best open option available. Trent outside pass to Kmpo and the Bucks getting another bucket right there. That’s a move you won’t see many guys make. Impressive stuff. Oh, there’s the alley. Stolen away. Nice job to interrupt the alioop attempt inside. Banked it in off the glass. Antoopo’s got six in the quarter. Well, you have to do way more than that to stop the MVP. Giannis just determined. Anthony against Donic. Pass to Aimura. Six to shoot. Oh, and Turner with a block and he recovers it. And there’s the shot clock violation. Couldn’t get the shot off in time. The Bucks shooting 35% so far. in this one. Koopo against James from 12 ft. LeBron with the rebound. James has got his seventh rebound of the game with that last one. And a foul called on the way up. So he’ll take two from the free throw line. First one falls for him. So he gets them both. Milwaukee with the ball. Down by 15. Pass to Kosma. Now here’s Trent. Tightly guarded. Here’s Turner. And the bucket is good. Turner’s gotten four this quarter. Yeah, so reliable. He clearly needs to be more involved in the offense as they try to shrink this lead. Here’s Reeves. Back to Donic from deep three-point range from beyond the arc and then some. Donic has got 11 points here in the second half. Pass to Kmpo. Koozma right side. Trent on the wing. Three on the clock. No good off the back of the rim. Hard to turn down a look that good. Still long twos are losing favor and misses like that are the reason why. Pass to James. Aimura in the post. Guarded by Trent. And it’s Aimura missing. They’ve been having major problems offensively. Definitely in a bit of a dry spell. And count that. Two points and a chance for one more at the line. So we’ll see Giannis Ana Koopmpo go to the line here. It’s on LeBron James. One shot. And that one falls for Anna Kmpo. Grant wouldn’t be a bad idea here to slow it down. Yeah, the coach is definitely looking for patience and execution. Here’s Donic. Oh, and Turner with a block in transition. Here’s Koosma. Tries again and it goes as the official calls the foul. Count it and he’ll shoot one more at the line. Find the lanes. Find the lanes. Man, they’ve been careless with the ball tonight. Yeah, it’s a lack of focus and a lack of discipline. They’re better than this. Now, here’s Donic down low. Clock at six. Koozma against Tachimura. The Lakers with another miss. Would you say testing the limits of his range there? Well, I thought they played smart and then all of a sudden it was maybe a little too flashy there and that uh that’s unfortunate. Well, now it’s just a matter of watching the sand fall through the hourglass. This game is wrapped up in a strong showing for the Lakers. You could say the difference tonight was their shooting at the charity strike. Great focus allowed them to win the free throw battle and that battle won them the war and one of the league sup for stars producing as he always does. What a terrific game for Luca Donuch. Serving up feeds all night long. He was the best teammate that they had on the floor. And the Lakers with possession here following the score by Milwaukee. Aiden with it. And it’s Koozma picking him up and he was fouled while in the act of shooting. So he’ll take two free throws. Assertive from Aton wanting to score often and then forcing the D right there at his size. Foul him. Two. two and no good as the first free throw misses. We’ll see if he can hit the second. and he can’t make the second free throw either. He missed them both. At this point, it just feels like it’s over. You want to keep expending energy or do you want to start thinking about the next one for three? Here’s Harris. Benson grabs a miss. Donic outside. And so it’s the Lakers easily grabbing this one. It ends up being a fairly easy road win. Those are so hard to come by. It’s never easy to take a game in someone else’s building. Well, now a minute to check in with Ally Leforce. She’s courtside. Hey, Ally. All right, guys. LeBron, a superstar matchup tonight. What goes through your mind when you’re facing that kind of a challenge? You know, for me, it’s never about an individual challenge um or individual game. It’s about the team. Now, you do take the challenge anytime you’re going against anybody, but you also got to have your mind in the game, too, and not make it personal. So, taking the challenge, making sure your mind is in the right frame, and uh just trying to make plays for your teammates to be successful. Thanks, LeBron. Back to you, Ally. Thank you as always. And that’ll wrap it up, folks. For Alli Leforce, Grant Hill, and Brent Barry, this is Brian Anderson thanking you for watching tonight’s game.
