The bad start is really going to help this team out in the long run, I think.
It definitely feels like the offense is more reliable than last year but the next 3 weeks will tell us a lot.
Yesterday’s game felt like a turning point for me in my expectations of this team.
The last couple years, we just couldn’t close games out. We constantly let them squeak back by being too conservative and we held on in a nail biter. I would leave most wins feeling like we lost because of how bad we would play down the stretch. Anytime we got a 2 score lead I was confident the other team would claw back in the end.
This year’s team seems to have the ability to close out games much better.
Pat mentioned in the post game interview that Washington came out with more energy than KC to start the game, and you could sense that just watching the body language between the two teams.
I wonder how hard it is to keep up a high energy level week in and week out when you have had sustained success like this.
I’m not trying to say I did it..
But my wife noticed that we don’t do so good until I put on my Chiefs shirt
Then we immediately kick ass
So now, we don’t wash the shirt and I take it off as soon as we get to a point we can’t lose
I have the magic shirt guys
Pretty sure its unbeatable as long as I don’t wash it
The offense is as good as it was with Tyreek. That’s huge. We were a defensive team for the last couple years and defensive teams don’t win games decisively.
This season has been better on my blood pressure for sure.
Last year was fun, but weird feeling thrilled at the final moments while simultaneously thinking “Wow, what a lucky break!”
Unrelated but, as a Canadian I’m currently contractually obligated to at least pay attention to the Jays in the World Series. So I caught the beginning of game 3, changed channels to watch the Chiefs, went on that whole emotional roller coaster, watched the Chiefs get the W, changed back and the Jays were still playing 😂.
They continue to play for like 5 more hours, I gave up around 12:30. Just went to bed.
We are back in the realm of seeing 2nd and 16 and actually feeling confident they are going to easily pick it up somehow. This is the offense I have missed.
I was annoyed by our mistakes, but I never felt that we would lose to the Redskins.
We’ve looked so good lately, i had to go watch Matt cassel lowlights just to feel something
I see a different pat this year, he didn’t like those previous seasons either
The game thread the first half was hilarious people demanding everyone to be fired or cut
I think this is the first non stressful streak of Mahomes’ career. That I can remember anyway
Also, it sucks playing in like 7 prime time games with all of the focus on the team. Every little play is scrutinized

First half yesterday was a bit of “we should be playing better than this.”
It is so fucking weird rooting for a sports time that you are never stressed about them winning when you watch a game.
