Reviewing All of Devin Lloyd’s Interceptions in 2025 | Jacksonville Jaguars
[Music] Welcome into the film room. The Jaguars defense has done a great job this year of getting takeaways, but haven’t seen a lot lately. And the Jaguars need linebacker Devin Lloyd in the lineup. Four interceptions amongst the league’s best. Let’s take a look at those four interceptions in the film room. Devin Lloyd’s first interception against the Cincinnati Bengals, the quarterback, Jake Browning. And Devin is a zone player. And Devin Lloyd is able to keep his eyes to the quarterback. Now, once he drops into the zone, you can see here’s the quarterback, eyes towards the quarterback. He reads the quarterback’s eyes and knows that he is looking to his left. And great anticipation, great read because he literally slides over in the zone and cuts in front of the wide receiver making the interception. That’s not an easy interception. Now, look at how Devin is extended. That’s actually a great catch for even a wide receiver at San Francisco. And it’s play action. And once again, it’s a zone coverage by the Jaguars. Devin Lloyd gets pulled up because of the run fake. But then once he starts to bail, it becomes kind of what they call scramble rule situation, which means the play is kind of out of balance and you want to glue to the closest guy. And that’s what Devin Lloyd is doing. But defensive coordinator Anthony Campanille has always said, “God rewards those who run to the football.” Well, who’s running to the football? Devin Lloyd. Because the ball goes to Christian McCaffrey. And because Devin Lloyd is running, McCaffrey can’t handle it. And then the ball is staying alive and Devin Lloyd comes away with it. And Devin Lloyd’s second interception against the San Francisco 49ers. I love how the two linebackers play off of each other. And I’m going to show you why here in just a second. Because once the Jaguars drop in a zone coverage, there’s Devin. There’s Foyer. Foyer actually comes up to the short wide receiver. Devin feels that he’s gaining depth trying to climb more into the middle because you’ve got a wide receiver coming from the opposite direction. I don’t know if this is by design or just instinct, but it’s a great play by Devin Lloyd trying to run off some coverage here with a vertical route by one wide receiver. Guju Smith Schustster coming underneath. That’s the intended target. Travis Kelce, the tight end, delays going to the outside and then trails coming inside. Devin is right here. He’s showing a zero blitz coming after the quarterback. He’s going to fake up into the line of scrimmage and then pull back. And he reads the eyes perfectly of Patrick Mahomes falling right underneath of Ju Guu Smith Schustster. You can see Devin right here. Here’s Juju Smith Schustster. Perfect timing, great read, great interception, and a great return.
Jeff Lageman rolls the tape on LB Devin Lloyd’s 4 interceptions so far this year. Lloyd is amongst the league leaders in takeaways this year and has been a key piece of the Jaguars defense in 2025. Check it out on Film Room, presented by Microsoft Copilot + PC.
