PIRATES grab BILL MURPHY from ASTROS to be new pitching coach
You know what? The reaction to this hire I thought was interesting. Usually a lot of stuff that the Pirates do, people are mad about it in some way, shape, or form, and often they have a reason to be mad, but I I feel like it was just kind of, oh, okay, yeah, it’s good hire. I was also impressed by the reaction. I I pretty much everything I’ve seen is that it’s it’s positive. The worst thing I saw is someone is like, why the Astros let this guy go? They must know something. And no, I think that’s just the Astros have two pitching coaches. This guy is it’s a chance for this guy to run his own show with a really good young staff. Exactly. And and when you look at the the Pirates young pitching that we’re about to get into, like there are a lot of pieces there, it it’s it’s something that makes sense for both sides. You’d see why he’d be interested in this challenge. Murphy, at least my initial reaction is one one that’s positive.
In this Pirates podcast, Jason and Colin discuss the recent hire made by the Pittsburgh Pirates. Bill Murphy is a pitching coach coming from the Houston Astros, and they discuss the reaction of fans after the recent news broke of him joining the Pirates coaching staff.
