[Strang] According to the criminal complaint, both counts allege that Ryan Kesler engaged in sexual contact with a 16-year-old child “through force or coercion and/or (had) reason to know the victim was physically helpless.”

  1. Even if he is not criminally guilty, it sounds like something pretty messed up happened.

  2. Turning on Crowd Control for this one, comments will trickle in as they are reviewed and manually approved. Don’t post again if you dont see it yet, its in the que.

  3. I knew a nanny of his through family a time ago and the vibe he gave her makes this only surprising to me, not shocking. A minor is a bit beyond any of that though…

  4. This is disgusting, if it’s true, I lost all my respect I have ever have for him.

  5. Where are all of the “i don’t believe any accusations against athletes anymore” dipshits on this one?

    This is truly fucking disgusting!!

  6. Ah, God damnit. He was a big part of the best hockey team I watched, always was a dick but now he’s even worse than I ever could imagine.

  7. So this lines up with the age of his son’s hockey team he was coach on. Knowing how hockey culture is with hazing and how Kesler was always a dick, I wonder if he encouraged or got in on player hazing. Sick stuff nonetheless

  8. JFC.

Just my opinion, they would not have brought up charges if the state didn’t think they couldn’t prove something happened.
His daughter is 17, I have 2 daughters, I have his jersey and I am sick to my stomach.
Fuck this guy if this is true

  9. I’m just going to ask because I know there are likely quite a few men here.

Can any of you tell me what it is that makes some men (usually ones with wealth and power and status) go after teenaged to very very young adult women when they are older?

Like are they weak? Guys like Paul Walker, his gf was 23 when he died. They’d been together 7 years.

Are these men not capable of dealing with women they can’t “mold”? Are they terrified of women with life experience who might know they suck?

  10. I once had a girlfriend from New Zealand who worked at the fernwood Inn. She came home one night and asked me if I knew who Ryan Kessler was? I was like yeah why? She said I just met him and he is a real dickhead. I guess he hit on her while she was serving his table. Keep in mind she has no idea about the NHL and famous hockey players. So when she flatly rejected him he gave her the “Do you know who I am” line. To which she. Promptly gave him a “Cool story bro” rebuttal. Apparently he kept pressing and hitting on her all night to the point she wasn’t sure she wanted to go back to work there again. So this seems on brand from what I’ve heard / experienced.

  11. I used to be a huge fan of Kesler but after hearing things + his open MAGA support I stopped being a fan of his a long time ago. I didn’t think he could get worse but clearly I was wrong. I hope the victim has a strong support system.

  12. A lot of parents these days get criticised for many of the things they do when they raise their children. Smartphone usage, internet usage, social skills, etc. But for me, the one thing I’m hoping for out of this new generation is that we can raise a generation of men that stop raping people.

It’s pretty difficult to have open conversations with little kids about sexual things, but I think it’s absolutely necessary so they can be educated out of these behaviors as soon as possible.

  13. This is why I only ever buy blank jerseys these days. We really have no idea who these people actually are.

  14. I used to work at Rogers Arena and I will never forget how much of a dick he could be to fans and staff. With that being said, I hope this is not what happened. However, if he did do this, he should pay the price.

  15. Wait. Why is 99% of the people on here already acting like he’s been convicted. I don’t know him, I don’t know the alleged victim. But it seems everyone’s ready to burn Keslar to the stake without any details organ than the allegations itself.

You can hate him, how he left the team, who he supports but until someone is charged and proven guilty, I don’t see why we now “presume guilt until proven innocent”. What are we Russia and China?
