  1. Possibly the loudest giants stadium ever got. Vs pats in 2009 is a strong contender too

  2. This was maybe the best two week stretch I’ve ever had being a jets fan. This win to make the playoffs, then drubbing the Colts first round.

  3. Sam Garnes. The epic Pennington year. This was my first full year as a Jets fan after I started following them in October or so of 2001. Lamont Jordan. Vinny getting some time after being benched.

  4. Ugh …. what a fun roster this was.

    Loved those old uniforms too.

We didn’t know how good we actually had it back then ….

    Take me back, please.

  5. I was there. Last season me and my dad had season tickets. 97-02 was such an incredible run as a season ticket holder. Even 99 they were 8-8. Never had a losing record the entire time we went.

  6. I was at this game. Patriots knocked off the Dolphins in OT as this game was underway and the crowd was crazy. All three teams finished 9-7 and the Jets won the division on the tiebreaker.

Jets beat Peyton Manning and the Colts 41-0 the following week in the wildcard game.

  7. I was at that game. So much fun. I think like the last 10 games I’ve been to have been losses. Sell the team Woody. You have no clue how to run an nfl franchise. Hopefully he hires a Parcells instead of another inexperienced d coordinator. Stop making the same mistakes.

  8. Still remember watching this game. I remember watching Miami vs NE that day so close, and being so panicked when the Pats were down, Vinatieri hit that game winner, that I’m still not completely convinced was good, and everything got so much better.

Still hard to believe that was the last time we won the division.

  9. I was there. The wildest game I’ve ever been to. When it came across that NE had beaten Miami (which the Jets needed to win the division). It seemed like the energy in the building just coasted the jets to a win it was pretty incredible.

  10. This was the game that made me a jets fan! I was there with my best friend who was a huge fan, i didn’t know much about football, but I knew who Brett Favre was. The way they dominated him and had a million interceptions was enough to sell me and it’s been a nightmare ever since! Another fuck you to Brett Favre for being so ass that day

  11. I was at that game. Yes I am a Packers fan. It was a meaningless game for the Packers… Jets needed to win and have help to reach the playoffs. When the help (Pats loss?) was put up on the jumbotron, the stadium went nuts. Early in the game, the Packers took a **14-7 lead**, with Brett Favre connecting for touchdowns. Favre was taken out after a bad INT… then we benched the rest of our stars.

I also took the crowded bus back to Manhattan from the stadium where an orthodox jewish guy with puke on his Rangers jersey chanted J-E-T-S in my face over and over. He then hopped off the slowly-moving bus to pee and the driver would not let him on as he ran alongside the bus pounding on the door.

  12. Great day at Giants Stadium. I’ll cherish the memory. The Packers, who were a good team then, knew their asses were whooped as soon as the game began. I’m beginning to wonder if the Jets will ever again have that home “party victory celebration” atmosphere ever again? I went to every game for 34 years and only got to enjoy that a few times. This was one, followed soon after by the Colts 41-0 blowout. Think about that young fans: We celebrated and crushed Favre and Manning practically, if not actually in, back to back weeks.

  13. The roar that went up from the crowd when we saw on Jumbotron that the phins had lost … whole place was on fire
