NHL Highlights | Rangers vs. Canucks – October 28, 2025

JT Miller returns to Rogers Arena since the start of his first season here in 2019. He and Elias Peterson are one two in scoring in this building and they face off to start this game going head-to-head with the puck shot in the Vancouver zone and Miller sends it to the blue line. Long shot by Adam Fox stopped by Jim Co. Puck cleared by Patterson to Well, when he said one off and looked at me, I looked back at him. We both kind of shook our shoulders. Here’s a chance in front and Reichel is robbed by Quick. Lucas Reichel looking for his first as a Kuck and Jonathan Quick got him with the glove. He’s still acrobatic. This gets popped out front and Riel’s trying to go up over the glove and this is hands one wide to the goal. Down comes Elias Peterson from the left point. Banks one to the blue line. Ratu long shot knocked down rebound. O’ Conor dive. Oh, he hit the outside of the net. What an effort there. Crashing in as O’ Conor to keep it in. But now Paneran break feeds a Zanagad. Sends the puck into Vancouver territory. Sherwood taps it back for Elias Patterson stealing pucks. Savannah Paneran is stopped by Demco. Two other players in this game played in that one. Both are in Kuck uniforms tonight. Brock Besser and Jake de Brusk who was a Bruins teammate that night. Back in belted by Elias Person. Spotlight on him. He’s been great on the weekend and he threw the big butt hit on Venina. Penderson’s pass picked off, but here comes Meyers with the puck. Tyler Myers down the left wing tried to center. Rebound chance. Patterson after the loose puck after Garland was stopped and Miller’s out there on a Rangers power play. Archie Baines is off for tripping and New York with an opportunity here to open the scoring in this one. Our Tenny Paneran long shot. Demco the save. Garland gets the puck ahead and Atu Ratu. Rangers move the puck to center. Here’s Sherry moving it. Taylor Radish couldn’t handle the pass and escapes, but he keeps after the puck and swings around to Will Kulie in front. One-time hit escape. Rebound go with the right pad. Oh, how did he stop that? Comes into action. Watch this stop right there. Moves to the middle. Passes off. Sherry wrist shot. Deco with the save. And then another one off Radish. Ler Demco putting on a clinic here, but no dice. This one’s off the toe of the skate. Radish again. And then Demco tried to poke the puck ahead. Kept in by Bordon, but Tyler Myers keeps after it. Can’t reach it. Sherry tried to center. Broken up by Riel. And the puck now slid wide of the goal. Rangers came back to break things up. Pio Joseph danks it ahead. Here comes Ratchy with a step on the left wing. Over skating the puck. Gets it again. Sharp angle shot is stopped by Quick. Dumps from behind the net. Fessers there. Kicked it to the crease. Reaching out with the goal stick to sweep that one away. Was Jonathan Click. Puck kept in by Kane. Picked off by the Rangers. Fox with the lead pass. Here’s Zabanagette. Dishes off and gets a return pass. He scores. Mika Zabanagette. The pass back to him from Kulie. Initially didn’t get through, but Kulie tried again and the second time it worked. And Zabanagad makes it one- nothing New York. That long reach by Zabanagad. Moves it off. continues to the front of the net and eludes the check to be able to just elevate that past Demco. There’s the miss by Kulie and then he reathers it and Zabanagad knows his way around scoring goals when he’s in that close. Rangers as we mentioned have been coming on to see Patty around. Here’s Jake de Bruss as Garland had a collision with Carrick who’s being challenged to a fight by Marcus Patterson and they’ve dropped the gloves. Carrick hit Garland in the neutral zone and Marcus Patterson went right at him. Oh, the admire Patterson for this. It’s not something he does often. No, but he went right at Carrick. This is Garland trying to move it off to his left and they took the body and then you’ll see a Person come in and challenge and there wasn’t a lot of defense to start. Both players getting some rights in Vancouver penalty. There’s a minute 41 remaining in the Rangers power play. The extra penalty assess to Marcus Person for his set two with Sam Carrick after the hit on Connor Garland. You got to watch the body language. Watch where the eyes are looking and then adjust. Fox with a shot and that was tipped to wide. Radish might have got a piece of it. Now Fox again. Demco the save. Radish after the rebound and Elias Patterson got there to ring it around the boards and out to center. Under 10 seconds to go in the Ranger power play. It’s one- nothing New York early second period. Here comes Brozinski leaves the puck. Sherry Radish stopped by Demco just as Max Sassin stepped out of the penalty box. Now Parsons it in for this face off wins it from Riel. Shot the line by Borggan and Demco saw that all the way. Watched it into the glove. We’ll check in with M. Gets a stick free but instead he’s going to get some repairs. Rangers clear down the ice. Canucks will start the power play from their own zone. Good. Here’s Sherwood. Riel gets a return pass. Oh, Quick with the left pass on the power play. Kane to Riel. Runs out of room. Tries to do the onehander, but Quick stays low to the ice and that close to his first and Kuck colors. Lucas Reichel continues to get opportunities. He’s showing some chemistry, but now Kane’s going to get a hooking penalty. Delayed call. Rangers have the puck. Another penalty to Evander Kane in the offensive zone as the Rangers return to full strength. They’re six on five. There’s a shot. Demco the stop and a weak attempt by Zabanagad on the rebound from Sherwood to tip that one out. Now he’s going to get chased. Kefir Sherwood joining him as Okconor. Pass comes back. Drew O’ Conor cuts wide. Wrist shot. Not a weak one, but it went off the stick of Panera and Quick had to be careful to make that save. JT Miller brings the puck ahead. Savannah Jad takes his pass. Knocked off his stick and now it’s Connor Garland’s turn to wheel out. Crisscrossing with O’ Conor Garland in made a move in the defense following up as Meyers stopped and the rebound cleared by Fox. Gets a little pick from Meyers to buy him some time. Garland up the left wing. Assassin Grist loved by Quick and Jonathan Quick hangs on. He’s a pepper pot. He plays with with exuberance, that’s for sure. Faceoff win for Elias Person. Pio Joseph with a wrist shot. Stick save by Jonathan Quick. Marcus Patterson gathering his stick as the Rangers maintain control of the puck. Fox with a wrist shot. That’s stopped by Demco. And Sherwood has room to skate out and around for Parson and twoon-one Rangers. Lava, he’s got Radish in front. There’s the pass. Oh, went off the defenseman and Demco made a marvelous save. Assassin with a back check. Lavo’s on the back hand. So, you know it’s going to be a pass or at least suspect so. And with Elias Henderson lying down, the puck goes off him, but Demco was able to get Sher in after the puck. taken to the ice by Vander. Now it’s centered. Here’s a chance and that hit the crossbar. Erho Vakan and two nothing but it goes bar and out and it’s still a one-goal game. One- nothing Rangers as we get underway in the third period. One- nothing Rangers. Patterson takes a pass at center. Alias Patterson in has to sidestep part of that cane stick to Bruss. Here’s De Brusk handling that puck and then just it goes underneath. Beautiful feather pass by Patterson. De Brusk wins a battle behind the goal. Shovels the puck back to Pio Joseph. Great point. Coronic with a blast. Stop. Person banging away. But Quick already had that left pad down. And there’s Elias Person banging away. Here’s Zanagad up to Paneran. Rightwing feed. Fox has a teammate in front. There’s the pass. Demco. The save off Culie. Rangers clear to the side. Heronic and Sherwood working to keep the puck in. But Carrick gets it. Turns and he scores. Looked like Person had a play on it, but he couldn’t come up with the puck. And Sam Carrick from just outside his own blue line has made it two nothing New York. Just give it a try. And I think Elias Person thought it was going to go. And just five seconds remaining in this one. Patterson flips the puck in. And that’ll do it. Jonathan Quick.

Mika Zibanejad scored the game-winning goal and Jonathan Quick stopped all 23 shots he faced to lead the New York Rangers to a 2-0 shutout win against the Vancouver Canucks.

  1. Big Bad JT Miller comes to town and the New York Rangers shutout Baby Puttersson ⛳, Bozoer, Dumbko, Queeefer and Conor Gremlin! Way to go NY 🗽

  2. Kane should have been benched or put on the 4th line after NY's first goal – that was his man, and he stopped skating two strides inside his own end.

  3. I can’t defend EP40 on that empty net goal not sure what he was thinking, but I don’t think they were going to tie the game up anyways. I’m more concerned how this Canucks team is legit made out of glass. Chytil, Blueger, Hughes, Mancini, Lekkerimaki, Forbort, Hoglander, and now Garland… it’s only been 11 freaking games.

  4. Always enjoying watching the Shorthouse highlights when the Rangers play the Canucks. The two franchises are always so similar, forever linked by 1994 and the trades between the two teams. Shorthouse reminds me of Jim Nantz, who does The Masters, with such class and an eloquent delivery. Hoping for the best for my guy Filip! Good luck Vancouver! Until next time.

  5. Every team in the NHL is starting the back up goalies when they play the Canucks.
Im trying to remain optimistic but this team is a joke and every team in the NHL knows it. That's just the truth.
Every team in the NHL is treating the Canucks like a non threat. It's embarrassing.
    Patrick Alvin is a joke.
