NHL Highlights | Devils vs. Avalanche | October 28, 2025

They’ve been getting points but not
as many as they think they should be getting or as many obviously as they want.
And we are underway here at Ball Arena as Valentin turns and fires. That puck is
deflected up into the netting finds his defenseman. Here’s McKinnon near circle
dancing. Nowhere to go. Finds Marty Nes. They’ll trade that centering pass back to
Nius. Fires up top. The car looks natur. An absolute bomb inside the post and the have
taken a one- nothing lead for Nas’s seventh goal of the season. And the power play strikes early.
He needed that. This is great puck movement, but it all starts with Kale Mar selling the shot.
He shot it earlier in the power play. He sells it again. Markstrom because it’s sold so well,
he’s not able to get over and seal the post. And Marty Nes that whip on the stick up to the
point. Nebs finds Seganthaler. That’s off the inboards. Nation at the post. Loose puck saved by
Wedgewood. It’s in the slot. The AS will bang it out. Bridley trying to use his legs to get out.
Twoon one. Now it’s fired ahead. Shortov. He scores. Shakar Bikov. His first career National
Hockey League goal. And the AS have taken a two nothing lead. What a play by Kelly and Bartikov
was all by his lows are on a break. Threeon two. Fantastic puck movement and going seven hole on
Jacob Arstrom. Bartacov looking like a 30goal scorer. Not to mention not being on the ice for
a good portion of that. Here’s Nushka. Pulls up looking for a trailer. Shoots. Stopped by
Colton. Another opportunity. What a save by Mark. And that puck is between his pads.
It got knocked loose behind the net but the Right into Nuskin who picks his pocket. Here
come the abs. What a hit by Nushkin. Kicks it over. Wrist shot off the iron from Coleman. Oh,
he got that one off in a hurry but he found the iron. Goes to the point with it. Taves now to
Mar trying to get around Connor. He does. Macar guarding in Dave in front. Saved by Marstrom.
Oh no. Lechan in. And as those plays start to come more for Gabe Lanniskog, the comfortability
factor is only going to increase. You see Lannisk and Olison at the front of the net both trying
to get tips on it and that just barely clears the cross. Here comes Oliv Victor Olison Tom Shel
his first goal in a Colorado Avalanche sweater and the ABS have taken a three nothing lead. It’s
a thing of beauty. All started by Gar in the far corner gets it up and Olson gets run out of
three on two. He just takes it and 27 shots later, the man who’s just been snake bit all season long
who they call Goliffson buries his first in an Avalanche uniform. What a beauty, Johnny. Marstrom
comes up big with the glove. Here’s Mar. McKinnon fake the one-time. Maret one-time over the top of
the net. Just under a minute to go in the five on three. McKinnon tries again. Nathan Kenned too
hard for Marstrom to handle. Absolutely rips it through the five hole and the ABS have taken
a four nothing lead. Two for three on the power play goal of the season. The five on three can
be such a momentum swing if the penalty killers can kill it off. It can turn the tide and if the
power play can get one, especially this early in the five on three. Now a minute three left. Very
well could be Riker and again Joe Sacking in his brilliant Hall of Fame career. Uh-oh. Watch out.
Here comes Kelly in a deep move. He scores. Parker Kelly. Hands of an angel. A little backhand flip
inside the post. But by Kobe a biscuit. What a play by Parker Kelly. It’s a five nothing lead.
That’s my favorite goal call of the year by UMO. But what a pass by Brent Burns all the way to
the far blue line. And Ross Colton, man, is he playing well. Spins up and feeds Parker Kelly.
A little fake shot. Jacob Barkstrip going, “What else can I do?” Landisk was cutting hard to the
front of the net and had a teammate try to find near side. play this shot that tipped away. Turns
jam it off the leg. Watch out. Nason shoots and he scores. Stephan Mason rips it inside the far post
to make it a 51 game. These are the ones you just can’t give being up five nothing in the second
period. It’s a deflection off a stick and all of a sudden just a walking down Main Street. Stefon
Nason. It’s a beautiful shot, but out of seemingly nothing, all of a sudden, Devils have a little bit
of life. Only Austin and New Jersey as Jack Hughes gives it off. His brother look for a shot. That
twigs is dust. Hamilton shoots. Saved by Winwood. This punch score out of midair. Douggee Hamilton
makes it a 52 game as he followed up his own shot down deep and out of midair able to poke it home.
Big six with six. It’s Doug Hamilton. There’s the pass right across. Here comes the quick shot and
then as you mentioned, picks up the rebound from the glove. Oh, you got to have length to be able
to pull that off. That’s quite remarkable, guys. It’s up. Here comes the right glove and he’s going
to reach out the stick with one hand. My goodness, that was impressive. Sometimes you just got to
tip your cap cuz this is a headsy play. Team Omire made a really nice play there when the car starts
to drag like that and then tries to get that one through. Watch out. Push down. Keep score. Oh no.
The New Jersey Devils with three unanswered have made it a five to3 game as Dawson Mercer was
all by his lonesome in the low slot. Fellas, I didn’t see this coming. Three goals and I’m not
sure how much time. Everybody’s in good position here. And then just that little deflection across.
There’s the play right there. And that one kind of gets Mar. And then Mercer gets a wide open net on
the back pass. And what was the walk in the park now as everybody five nothing lead is evaporated.
Watch out. Here comes Hughes in. He’ll drop it off for Brad to Hughes. He scores and everything
has fallen apart in the second period. It’s now a five-to game as Jack Hughes scores his third goal
in two games against the ABS. That was absolutely clinical. A little drop far side one time on the
back door. Was got zero chance. You see the tu. This is shocking all. But now why you see why New
Jerseyy’s one of the top teams in the East had everything going their way. Five straight tallies.
Back to the point. It goes to Mar. Olivesson. Back to Mar. McKinnon. One-time. He scores. Nathan
Bon an absolute rocket. Pass. Marshmall for his second goal of the game. McKinnon wasted no
time rocking it for his night. We’re saying how exhausted we were after the Nordique Hartford
game the other night with eight goals. Well, now we got 10. What better way to answer after New
Jersey gets four and 404 and he’ll deliver back off the boards. Brimley makes the steal. Brinley
is in. Gavin Brinley trying to wrap around quick shot save by Marstrom. Oh, he Baconov point blame
with a blocker. Boricov would have had his second of the game, second of his career. Let’s take
a look. Barov’s right there. Nobody’s on him and he just can’t get it up over the blocker
or under you pick. This is a tremendous save. I mean you talk of a wide open play mark. That
puck movement alleviated off the iron from the bumper. Sorry there Johnny. Oh good Mo. That puck
movement alleviated the pressure. All of a sudden they couldn’t force quite as hard. and scores.
A wrist shot from the far circle and the MS have taken a seven-4 lead for Victor Olson. The
post and Victor Olivesson, you said it, Mo, but this guy gets going. Two goals, two assists on the
night. Nine points on the season in 11 games. What a signing. He’s starting to feel it. He’s starting
to get comfortable. And this top unit is clicking. Brock Nelson, his forcheing is underrated. I
didn’t realize what a good forch checker he is. And he creates so many turnovers. Stolen away
by Dr. gives it up. Shot score. Victor Olson. The hattick. He gets it. His first career National
Hockey League hatrick department. And boy, did he do it tonight. Everybody’s thinking
it. And what a play by Jack Drury. He’s got Gabe Lanniskoff driving the net, but he finds
Victor Olivesson trailing the play right on his tape. And look at that crowd here in
Ball Arena on their feet. Those that are left as the ABS come home from the oneame home
stand. Get revenge on the New Jersey Devils.

  1. Statement game for the Avs, this is what they’re capable of. Rough night for NJ but they are so fun to watch, and their fans are reasonable for the most part!

  2. Not a good night by Markstrom, also doesnt help our D-Core got all messed up.

8 game heater lost, but at least we almost came roaring back in the 2nd. Markstrom just didnt have it on today.
