NBA Mini: Washington Wizards vs. Philadelphia 76ers | Extended Highlights
an excellent shooter. He puts the ball on the floor and gets to the basket, showing you that he’s a well-rounded offensive threat. Speaking of well-rounded offensive threats on Q Tyres Maxi for three above Carrington, another 20-year-old and MB the Swansar initially, but good concentration by Sar to stay with it and dunks it down. Edge going the drive and dish. Nice ball movement. Kelly a little bit short on that three, but I like the pass from Justin Edwards. Get back. Middleton leaked out and lays it up and in. Embiid back to Maxi. Good cut. Great pass. Toner Reese Maxi with a 10finger flush. He’s not shying away from the contact or the challenge. Huh. And it goes and the foul. Half court set. Twoman game. He and Jojo coming off to the left wing. The knockdown three. He’s just letting everyone know it’s three. Both ends of the floor playing really good defense. Getting it from Sar and then knocking down a big three. Sixers five of eight from outside. McCullum answering right back to the home team. He’s got Tyrese Maxi down in the Dallas area. Maxis fade away around and outs. Stop ball first. Dub Carrington rising and connecting thought about that three instead puts it on the deck. gets into the paint. Shot clock at five. Trendan Watford making his Sixers debut and unfortunately that’s not going to be the debut he wants. Intercepted by the Villainova product Cam Whitmore. Watch this action. There’s the steel. He’s off and running. Nice soft touch. And talking to Nickur before the game and and he said as Cory Kisford drives baseline and gets the hoop and the foul. So Kiss won’t head in line, but cuz I’m jealous of people with a full head of hair that you know that Tyrese had the chair taken out from under him. Here comes George up top to Cam Whitmore. And a bad bounce pass from Whitmore. Maxi ahead to the big fella. He lays it up and in. That should have lobbed back that second chance opportunity. That was obviously a pass from Maxi to Walker. That one just a little bit behind Whitmore. Good look. Good look indeed. Back-to- back buckets for Jabari Walker and Brian Keefe calls time after the Sixers have pulled even. We’re officially tracked back in 7071. Nancy was asked about it last night after the game and Whitmore with another back door cut and finish for the Wizards. Guys open and giving up a three instead of the two from Joel. I was just thinking were they even alive then? Yeah. Exactly with the jam. We will find that and get back to you Sixers fans. So that’s three on Embiid. Alex Sar back in the game for the Wizards who’s wondering where this guy was after he had 13 in the first quarter. Great compliment to the rest of his game where he can put the ball on the floor and attack the rim. Second three for Kelly this tonight. Too heavily pressurized but just trying to chip away at that 24se second shot clock. Maxi weaving his way through the Wizards defense leading the Sixers. The Rav 4 minutes to play brought to you by Toyota. Visit toyota.com to find your 2025 RA 4 Toyota today. Toyota, let’s go places. Expended a lot of energy and emotion and then getting on the plane and coming down here. Good fake VJ. Count it and the foul for VJ Edgecom. Watch the action again. Good pump fake. Side step the other defender tries to close out in time. Play 16 for Maxi, 18 for Joel Embiid. He’s played 12 minutes so far tonight. McCullum, what a pass behind the back to a spinning Alex Sar and those have been the two stars for the Wizards. He gets emboldened cuz he knows he’s got one guy to take. The nice behind the back pass. Tyrese Maxi from about a yard and a half outside. That one around and out. Saw over to George. Well, we know the third quarter of the first two games was not kind to the Sixers. And now anal opportunity coming for Keshan George catching it as well. And then this is Maxi to UB in the corner and Kelly has another. What a start to this season. So good work Kareem George another three. Well, this guy had a career-high 34 points just like he’s doing here tonight. Yeah, and again we talked about they played a lot of minutes the first three games. This guy leading the way. Whips it across court to Justin Edwards. All right, J connecting from the corner. Wizards making some shots, too, though. Yep. Middleton saw shot clock winding down and Middleton tough shot again. Everything falling right down. Do kids even have computers or they just use their phones? I think Yeah, we’re more mobile. Just me and you carrying around laptops. Kiss rattling in the three. Nothing falling for the Sixers in this quarter. Yeah, those are shots we’ve seen him make countless times. Yeah, just another little hand off to Bagley. Just feels like the Wizards can’t be stopped right now. Grimes squares the shoulders and hits a three and the Wizards call time. Well, nice little action here in the corner. VJ keeps it asking for Edgecom gets it to him. Kelly downhill and dunks it. More zone from the Sixers. Johnson the rookie straight on three. Shots continuing to fall. Still plenty of time though. BJ Edgecomb answering right back. Second four-point opportunity tonight. Watch the action here. Just elevates. Kiss trying to close out. Just shooting jump shots now. Haven’t been in the lane for a while. George has his shot blocked. And then Bagley dispatches Drummond and dunks it. Well, Chamberlain. See that just that should be like everyone’s like reset. Go. Yeah, go. Grimes gets the roll for the Sixers. Washington has gotten really whatever they’ve wanted on this end tonight. Baggley turning the corner, hits it and he’s found by MB. I feel like there’s a few NBA players who can help you out. I’m sure there is. Give and go. Perfection from MB to Tyrese Maxi. Nice pass from Joel. There’s our independence blue cross play the game. It was so nice again with the overplay. Use that aggression against FEA rules or AA rules. You’re taking it out on the side and we’re going. You don’t need an official there. Another great look from MB this time to Grimes. Scoop. There it is. First on Q. Great block by Adm Bona after there was initially good defense from Quinton. And another block from Bona. Welcome to the fourth quarter. A dam. It’s going to get returned and your feelings are going to get hurt. You want to be when you’re covering the out of bounds, guys. Take that away. Force it into the corner. Nothing. Middle. Grimes through the slots and a swat on this end by Sar. We don’t get to see him often because we’re usually working, but enjoy enjoy when we can put our friends in here. They’re awesome. Sar blocked by Bonus. Speaking of sweets, George launching that is short. Incrementally stops and then the other end of the floor. You take a look at it then with the denial on Saw. Got the stop he wanted. Ubé fakes it from outside, draws the contact, hits the mid-range. A three-point opportunity coming from Kelly Ubé Jr. On the other end, Kelly contact finish. The Wizards, if they’re smart, will take as much of the 24 as they can. And they do. They take 23. And they do. And there’s the the veteran, the champion Chris Middleton. had in a tight ball game down the stretch when you need to make plays, have him out on court for you is huge. Maxi, a beautiful scoop shot. Working hard for that bucket is Tyrese. This is Tyrese on the move. Crosses him over and brings it back. Good job by Quinton to not foul CJ. Quinton Grimes for three. Sixers not going away. And then here’s where the defense gets it out of Maxis hands. 120 to play tonight here in Washington DC. Maxi with five. Long mid lane and it goes for Tyrese Maxi. We got a three-point game. Ready to shoot. Sixers on a 144. McCullum got it back again. Content to take their time with this lead. Time on their side. McCullum driving. Maxi ties him up. Carrington blocked by Grimes. Maxi takes it ahead to Quinton. Grimes rises and hits. We’re tied at 126 because it’s under a minute. Watch this shot goes up. It’s a big time shot. So important to move your feet and don’t reach and don’t grab. McCullum downhill scooped blocked by Bona, but it’s going to be a goalending. Going to be a goend. We’re going to review it though. Yeah. I mean, I understand it was really Yeah, I think he gets it too, but I understand the call initially. It was so close. They’re going to let this one take all the way down. So, the Sixers don’t have a chance if they miss to Chris Middleton, the NBA champion with Milwaukee. Middleton to win the game. And we are heading to overtime here in the DM. That minutes restriction up a bit. Sixers got to dig deep now when your legs are tired and your lungs are burning. Find a way to play an extra five minutes of effective basketball as George comes out. Eight Wizards in double figures. It has been a total team effort for them tonight. One and two on the season. This guy has led the way. 31 for Alex. Two minutes to play in overtime. Just three and0 to start the season. Wizards one and two. Matching somehow sneaks it up and in on the reverse with three red shirts around him. This is Tyrese with a very difficult finish. Over a minute to play. And in it comes to Tyrese Maxi downhill. Maxi with the rim rocker. Sixers within one. Good shots here in the last 90 seconds or so and I’m okay with it. Maxi off the bonus screen. Maxi short. The Sixers lead and then this is the last shot off by Maxi and perfectly timed by Adona giving Joy. They kind of had some defensive breakdowns and they just seem to be a little out of sorts. Maxi hits the first, pushing the lead to two. Besides just filling up the score sheet, huge impact, four blocks, five rebounds, three of them offensive. Maxi, two massive free throws, the lead three. 18 seconds to play. No fouls. They call him blocked by aa. What a night and what an exclamation point. mentioned a couple games ago how you just stay in the ball game, stay within striking distance. As good as the Wizards played tonight and had a lead, it was never insurmounted. Thing I love about him is he blocks shots with the inside hand. In other words, concealed his victory. No fouls. No fouls. George hits the three. Then it comes to Tyrese Matthews. Immediately fouls. Back to two. Legs are starting to quiver a little bit. And this gets over the front of the rim. It has to get over the front of the rim. And it does. Nine points in overtime for Tyrese Max. 6.5 to go. No timeouts for Washington. No foul. Intercepted by Quinton Grimes and he’s fouled by Keshan George. The Sixers 4.4 Four away now. Stay with us. Amy the coach postgame live presented by Curado Insurance. Mr. Make here. You’re just backing off, guys. No timeouts for Washington. Just get away. And Q clinches it.
