Why would the Stars agree to give up their 50% role in operations at the AAC while continuing to provide an equal share of the renovation costs? Why are the Mavericks trying to bully the Dallas Stars into accepting a bad deal for their club?
Mark Cuban originally threatened to relocate the Mavericks ~5 years ago if they were not gifted a new arena bought and paid for by the city of Dallas taxpayers. I haven't heard the relocation threat in a while now, but we all know its on the table if we dont let the Adelsons grift us with their fancy new casino.
I would welcome relocating the Mavericks at this point. Dallas would instantly become the #1 candidate for an expansion team. The Hornets, Pelicans, Grizzlies, and Timberwolves would consider an immediate relocation to Dallas if this happened and I am sure one of them would go through with it because prior to trading Luka, the last season the Mavericks were not top 5 in the NBA in attendance was 2002 (6th), so the idea the NBA would be leaving Dallas forever is just ludicrous.

Edit: removed Clippers as a relocation candidate after finding out they have a new arena being built.

You are vastly misinterpreting what the article is saying.
First off this article does not say a thing about Cuban threatening to relocate the team.
The article talks about how there was an apparent agreement in place last year and it fell through at the end. The Mavericks say the stars backed out, the stars are saying they weren’t aware.
The Mavs have a clause that allows them to take control of the stars share of operations of the arena.
They arent bullying. Disputed between businesses is common and sounds like both sides made mistakes.
Stars should just go ahead and move to Frisco or wherever
We are very much at risk of not having a pro team in Dallas proper anymore
Spiritually Israeli
Clippers would never consider the move when Ballmer just paid 2 billion out of his own pocket for their new arena
After the Luka trade just get this team out of Dallas.
This is not what that article says at all lol. I’m down to hate on management (and Nico, just for the vibes), but cmon now

The Addelsons (family that owns the Mavericks) are some real pieces of shit, I think they are trying very hard tear down the AAC to build a casino complex with at the site of the current city all or some other publicly owned piece of real estate.
After the whole Luka fiasco, the Mavs don’t have the City’s love like they think they do.
I’ve lived in Dallas my whole life. Mavs can fuck off. There is nothing redeeming left in that ownership.

Clickbait title lol
These people suck
The Adelsons are the most beloved and successful owners in pro sports. The Stars should let them run the hockey team too.
The OP is pulling stuff out of thin air.
Let’s get a few things straight here.
1. The Mavs have made their intention to having their own baskeball-only facility since at least 2015. No surprises there whatsoever. If they want to upgrade the current building and the Stars default then why shouldn’t the Mavs proceed with what they have done already. Especially with a second entity (City) confirming the Mavs position.
2. The Stars desperately want an arena partner to share total costs. Look at Phoenix and them having separate arenas for basketball and hockey. The Coyotes made a huge gamble on supporting themselves and lost.
3. The current ownership group isn’t going to move to Vegas. They don’t even have business in Vegas anymore. Additionally if they did want a franchise in Vegas it would have been a hell of alot cheaper to buy an expansion franchise.
4. There seems to be this notion that it’s all casino or nothing. If plans come to fruition the actual casino will just be one part of the new location. If you’ve ever been to Vegas you’d know the casino component is just one part (and no longer the main part) of these entertainment resorts. The real investment comes in having hotel beds for rent, having regular convention and meeting business. One real estate area that fills many needs and provides many revenue streams (not just casinos).
5. The suburbs? While I don’t have hard data it wouldn’t surprise me if >50% of Mavs and Stars traffic comes from the suburbs. For me personally as a STH i’d vote the old Valley View site.
The mavs are owned and ran by a bean counter that doesn’t care about anything outside what he wants.
