Atlanta Falcons Fan Reaction to Rich McKay DIABOLICAL interview

What is going on NFL fans? What’s up Atlanta Falcon fans? Man, y’all know who it is. Your boy Antoine Smith. Um, Falcon CEO Rich McCay was on 680 the fan uh radio station in Atlanta, man. And he talked about, you know, what’s been going on, how Arthur Blank’s feeling. But, uh, we ain’t going to go through that whole 15 minute interview. We can knock it out in probably a couple minutes cuz I just want to give y’all one damn quote to let y’all know he on that [ __ ] But if this is your first time checking in, man, please go ahead and hit that subscribe button, hit that notification bell, or if you just sliding through, man, hit the hype button or hit the, you know, still hit the like button, but hit the hype button as well cuz the hype button, uh, as they say, hype me up. Cuz like I said, he on that [ __ ] This is this is the uh thumbnail for 680 defend on what he said in a pretty much context of you know what he does with the Falcons. But I want y’all to hear that very first line that um comes out of his mouth. And this tells you right here, and you can tell right here in the background, he hold his hands out. He look like he lying right there. But uh just listen to this, man. Just listen to this right quick. I just want y’all to listen to this. And y’all give me y’all thoughts in the comment box. But let’s get this thing going. All right. I guess he’s sitting down right now. Mr. Rich McKay. And boy, are you walking into something right now, Mr. McKay. Thank you for coming by and appreciate you do uh spending some time with us. But we’ve been critical of this organization. We’ve been critical of you. I’m going to ask you a question because a lot of people are asking it, myself included. How involved are you in the day-to-day operations of what’s going on? So, I that’s a good Okay, that’s a good question. I I’m the CEO, so that’s that’s my responsibility. Greg is the president and runs the day-to-day. Um I’m probably there one day a week, I would say. I go up. Um, I’d say that the operation is listen, you know, we lost a football game this week and uh and a home game and it’s a really tough one um for everybody, especially for our fan base. Um, but the season is still got a long ways to go and we’ve got a lot of a lot of games to play and that’s one thing I I think Raheem I didn’t hear all of his press conference yesterday, but I heard some of it. Um, and I thought he did a good job of of reframing and refocusing, which is an important thing for him to do. Um, but listen, we anybody that’s involved in the organization, we none of us are um happy with what transpired on Sunday. We didn’t win a game. We didn’t and it wasn’t a good game. Uh, but I think you get in Raheem and the way he led us, you got to refocus and you got to get ready because you you’re gonna have to go to New England and play next week and then we’re gonna Okay. So, y’all hear that? The refocus and all that. Yeah, I get that. But did y’all hear that opening damn statement when he said, “I’m the president, the CEO. I see the day-to-day operations.” Pause. If you see the day-to-day operations, how are you not involved in the football role? See, this is what I tell y’all, man. They can sell y’all anything on TV just to sell tickets. But when you just use common sense and go tell you what his position is, CEO and president, that tells you he still has his hand in this [ __ ] some kind of way. Because guess what? When Arthur Smith got fired, who was in the press conference next to Arthur Blank? Rich McCay. Ter no way around. But he’s the damn GM. He’s supposed to be handling whatever they got to handle with finding a new coach. See, this is how I know, and I tell y’all this all the time. They’ll pull the wool over y’all eyes just to sell tickets, man. And if you think about it, every coach that they’ve hired, if it wasn’t Tommy Demitro, it was Rich McCay. Ever since Terau has been here, I don’t think he only only thing that he had his hand in was probably draft process. Why? Because he’s very good at scouting talent. He’ll go north of the border. Yeah, he’ll go all the way to damn Mexico or damn Cuba to find talent. But Rich Mccay, he’s always been somewhere behind the scenes somewhere. And I guarantee you he was the one hiring Raheem Morris, not Tero. Yeah, Tero and Raheem Morris work well together except for these damn coaches. But as far as talent, they brought in hell of talent. But when it comes to these coaches, I guarantee you 200%, Rich McKay, Arthur Blank had to sign off on it. And you got to remember, he work in the NFL office, too. He says he goes there one day a week to make sure everything is running smooth. the day-to-day operations. Ain’t the day day-to-day operation making sure your coach doing their damn job, your GM doing their damn job. Think about this, man. Look, I’m telling y’all, this has to be the the worst crap that I’ve ever heard, man. And I hate to say that because I’m a dieh hard Falcon fan, but you’re not gonna sit up here and feed me this [ __ ] about That’s not your role. The role you supposed to play, if you’re the president and CEO, the role you’re supposed to play is like he said, keep an eye on day-to-day operations. If they fire Raheem Mars tomorrow, who would be the guy firing him? I bet it would be Rich McKay. Not Tero, not Offer Blank, but Rich McKay. And I’ve been telling y’all this for years, man. And I hate I had to delete that other video off YouTube, but um I said this five years ago, five, six years ago, that he was the problem. And if y’all follow me, y’all know exactly what I’m talking about. He was always the damn problem. See, the thing with this thing in Atlanta, it’s just like life. Have y’all ever heard the old saying, too many cheese, not enough engines? That’s exactly what’s going on with the Falcons right now. Everybody wants to stick their hand in what’s going on day-to-day operation. You want to know why the Philadelphia Eagles turned it around and why they’re such a um team that’s on top right now? In fact, they have just as much talent they have. Only Richard Lori lets the GM do his damn job. Yeah, Ter no GM, but I guarantee his hand tied to a certain extent because I don’t think he would have hired Arthur Smith or Raheem Morris. Arthur Smith father and Arthur Blank and rest in peace to his father. Um they were good friends, business partners. Raheem Morris was on his staff five years, part of that Super Bowl staff. So y’all just tell me, man. And and I’m going just say this one more time, and I might have to keep saying it for it to register, but the Falcons front office have to learn to be uncomfortable before they can win football games. Prime example. What I mean like letting your GM do your job and you stay out the way. Mike Rabel successful at Tennessee to a certain extent until the GM start stepping in gets in New England very first year. They already six and two. Why? Because they listen to what he had to say. He told him he wanted to break down the team and build it his way. Guess exactly what he’s damn doing. him and the GM on the same page. They letting him break it down and bring in the talent that he wants. He has a future quarterback. And again, New England doesn’t really have weapons. Um well, they have Stefan D, but he’s over the heels. They have Keon Boute, but they were labeled him a bus after two years. But um Hunter Henry, another veteran, they’re building that team from the ground up with young talent and a bunch of no names. And here we are, Atlanta Falcon fans. And we have, how do I say it? Um, Buku is a talent with no leadership. Leadership is everything. And if this front office don’t get together with the leadership, this damn organization will go down a damn rabbit hole that we can’t get out of. And I’ve been telling y’all years also, and this is my last point. The faculty organization needs structure. I’ve been saying that for God knows how long. If you ain’t got no structure in your organization, that [ __ ] going to fall all apart. Crack in the half. Do what you need to do. And I, you know, I give him grace because Arthur Smith, you know, he had trash quarterbacks in the last two years of his time in Atlanta. And you need a franchise quarterback to win football games. Falcons done that. But guess what? Nobody to damn coach them and nobody to lead. Too many Chiefs, not a damn enough Indians. But y’all let me know what y’all think on that comment, man. I just cut it off at the beginning cuz that’s all I need to hear from the interview. Like I said, if y’all see the picture in the background, he holding his hands up.
