HEARTBREAK: St. Louis Cardinals’ Offense FALTERS in EPIC 13-Inning Battle

If this had been a playoff game, it would be labeled as an instant classic. But in the end, the Cardinals get swept in Seattle. Hey, it’s JD from Locked on Cardinals. And Michael McGrevy was excellent. Great bounceback performance from his last outing where he got knocked around a bit. He goes six innings in this one, allows just one run, but the Cardinals offense failed repeatedly in big situations, letting the Mariners starter Logan Gilbert off the hook multiple times. And it became a battle of bullpens. and it went all the way to the 13th inning before Seattle would finally hit the walk-off two-run blast against Ryan Fernandez to win the game four to2. Thomas and JC had four hits and an RBI. Ivon Herrera hit another solo blast in that first inning. But this Cardinal offense just could never get that one big hit that they needed going a miserable two for 22 with runners in scoring position and they struck out 14 times.
