The atmosphere and conversation around Mailloux is so weird. Like everyone is walking on eggshells since that Pronger article. He’s got Kyrou-level plot armor already.
If the 25/26 Blues are a developmental team for not-NHLers then I understand the vision. But they should probably commit to the bit and call up the other 1st rounders and play Mailloux 20 minutes a night if that’s the case. If the goal is playoffs they should probably ice dmen who the coach trusts to play more than 6 minutes through the first 2 periods and puts up better numbers than this on a nightly basis against the most sheltered competition an NHL player can get.
On the bright side, we have our first round pick next year.
