In all seriousness, New York’s second loss in four games wasn’t just another roller-coaster ride. It was also the first time the Knicks faced off against Giannis Antetokounmpo-led Milwaukee since the two-time MVP, reportedly, told the Bucks that, if he were to be traded, he’d prefer it be to New York.

Milwaukee fans, surely, felt uneasy sitting there watching their savior, champion and homegrown superstar even sharing the floor with the blue-and-orange brigade. I’m sure some even envisioned, if only briefly, what Antetokounmpo would look like in the other uniform. Many probably considered the trickle-down effect of what a loss to the Knicks could lead to down the road.

Antetokounmpo, though, as he’s done throughout his transition to superstardom in Milwaukee when the conversation about his future comes up, allowed his people to relax, if only for one more night. After a punishing stretch in the third quarter that forced New York to call a timeout, the “Greek Freak” demanded the crowd get louder while uttering “This is my city!”. In the aftermath, after hammering home 37 points, eight rebounds and seven assists while handing the Knicks their second straight loss, Antetokounmpo reassured Bucks supporters that he’s more interested in beating New York than joining it.

“Who said that?” Antetokounmpo said when asked about ESPN’s report regarding his potential trade preference.

  2. Considering their strengths and weaknesses, I think Giannis compliments Brunson better than KAT.

    At this point they’re gonna roll with what they have, but if there ever is or was a chance to swap KAT and Giannis, I would do it.

  4. I mean….id take giannis. At this point if we can send kat and some bench and picks, we do it.

  5. KAT is a problem without Mitch. He plays absolutely zero defense and commits a ridiculous amount of stupid  offensive fouls. Yeah, he occasionally goes off but it’s not on a nightly basis. He doesn’t contest any shots. It’s not great. 

  7. I don’t think Kat is the guy to take us all the way with brunson. But with that said, I hope im wrong and we start getting better.

  8. Everyone said this last year… it’s now the yearly excuse. People were saying nonsense like this group needs to gel longer it takes multiple seasons.

    So now the coach changed and bench players are actually getting time…so now we’re back to square one?

  9. This debate cracks me up. Its quite simple…

    If the knicks dont win a chip this year they will offer a package for giannis that will include every tradeable pick we have, kat, and likely some other combo of players. The bucks will either accept said all in offer or, imo more likely, decline. Its really that simple.

    Bucks in this years eastern conference are not trading giannis this season, full stop.

  14. Wtf, every team needs a Giannis. It’s just that most of them can’t afford what it costs in a trade.
