Paul Maurice, Panthers Postgame: Florida Rallies in Third, Lose in SO to Anaheim Ducks
I I think they will feel that they left some stuff around the net. Um we had a similar situation in Detroit. We got down two nothing on a five on three goal and uh could make it 2-1 but couldn’t get past it. So um that was important for us for sure. Is a case like you talked about this morning a team that only needs a couple chances to to to strike. Yeah, I mean if you give a a team with skill five on three, they’re they’re I mean the chances are they’re going to score on those. Um and yeah, they don’t need a whole lot five on five. I’m not sure what they ended up with, but it wouldn’t be but a whole but they had some chances they didn’t get to the net. They didn’t finish on the play. We had some pretty good sticks around the net with that. Do you think this was a positive continuation of the five on five play? I think it’s a necessary pain that we got to go through. It is uh um when you trying when you struggle with your offensive game and you start talking about it, you see offense like tonight. I think there’s a bunch of areas that we can be a little quite a bit better in the offensive game. But that’s the first reaction. We’ll be trying to create more when there’s not a lot to be created uh in some of the turnovers or or just some of the broken plays, plays that didn’t get completed that might have. And then um but it’s something we got to go through here. There were parts of our offensive game that was right. The analytics will be good, but there’s other parts that uh we we got to get better at. Yeah, we coach guys are talking about just a little bit of sloppy play passes. Just I I just thought we’re on our back end and that’s it’s all like we we’re good players and they can make plays, but at speed all those plays that we tried to make had to be at speed. There was more speed than in our offensive game than there was a week and a half ago, but we’ve got another level here that uh that we can get to. obviously gets the goal, but he also gets the big faceoff win on the six on five. Lundy does get the shot. Yeah, he’s been good. Him under pressure. How impressive is that for Well, he’s been good. Um, you know, with with Sasha going down, his faceoff numbers are real good. He’s taken now he’s back first guy out in the penalty kill because we need it. Uh, he’s on the number one power play unit for faceoff wins and um he’s risen to the occasion for sure. And tear us off. Another kind of hard lock. We got to Hey, you know what? That’s that’s the pressure that uh we’ve put a lot on because we haven’t given him any run support. That’s for sure. But a good thing to go through at the start. He has to stay focused on every shot straight through the entire game. Goes stretches where there what Sergey goes through that there’s just not a puck that comes to him. I didn’t think they had one get to him early in that second period for quite some time. We’re on the power play for a bit and then bang, it’s it’s a twoon-one crossing play and that’s that’s the challenge. He’s made some of those saves for us. He was really good in the jersey game. So, we’re all learning together. Looked like another bright spot for Mackey tonight. I mean, sophomore season for him. Just looks like the speed’s a little bit faster, a little quicker, jumps a little bit more there. Just like what have you seen from him this season? That’s it. He’s physically stronger as I would expect. There’s a really big growth with young players in their first five years physically. They’ll just get stronger. They’ll get into holes quicker. They can fight, hang on to pucks more. So, it’s just all part of the natural progression for

Not sure how the Panthers can have so many shots on goal but are not scoring.
Just stay around 0.500 until Chucky comes back in December and we’re chilling
we got a point, just win against dallas in regulation please
Seen this before. Sneak into the playoffs, go on a run, win the cup.
the more paul ages the more purple his lips look
it seems like a nightmare with all the bad things happening to the Panthers; however, we need to realize that the entire league knows who we are… Back-to-Back Champions, and everyone, even the Rangers (LOL) will bring their A-Game.
