Isaiah Likely, Derrick Henry, Ravens Prove to be Back on Track vs. Bears | Ravens Wired

We’ve heard enough. Every game for us is a playoff game cuz everything we want is still in front of us and I think everybody knows that. If we all just paused for a second and just said, “Hey, this is our last game ever playing with each other.” How would you play? For the Ravens, turning around the season starts with returning to winning more battles on both sides of the line. With every adversity comes with it an equal seed to respond from the first half to the last and be on that fires over the middle. Intercepted. Nate Wiggins with a pick. brings it along the sideline inside the 10 and the Ravens with the first turnover of the day. Hley looks the other way wide open. Touchdown. It’s Coler for Baltimore. Get up on that one more time. Get up on that. One more time. One more time. Henry right side hit at the line. Bounces to the outside. Derek Henry to the one. Touchdown Ravens. We’ve waited a month in the barn. How about Captain Kyle Vanoi? It’s okay. This weekend, the main focus on this whole team is one snap. one snap mentality. That means when you get the call, you line up, you get ready, and you get laser focused to do your job. Whatever it is, I’m laser focused on that one snap. One snap, two snap, three snap, all the way for 60 minutes. Laser focus. And think about a little bit of sacrifice. I know every single man, woman in here sacrifices. So, if we all do that one snap, we’re going to be exactly where we want to be, and that’s with the win. Here we go. Win on two. One, two. The last five weeks been a shock. I mean, you didn’t plan a lot of losing games, but Georgia, I mean, you’ve joined a team that everyone thought was going to be a Super Bowl contender. I mean, what just what’s it been like? Yeah, I think um I think it’s been a lesson, you know, it’s a test. I think you you can’t ignore the past, but you know, we’re forward thinking at this point. Kind of have to be and every game forces a playoff game. That’s how it feels and how it’s going to have to be from here on out. Duck ourselves in a deep hole, but in order to get in the dance, we got to really be locked in from here on out. So, we’re trying to do that. This is a test. Like, what do we need to do to get to where we want to be? Like I said earlier, I think that’s the mindset, you know, like nobody’s pointing fingers, nobody’s doing any of this stuff, nobody’s dividing within. So, like it’s really just focusing on where we want to be and like the steps to get there. Uh focusing on the steps that it takes to get to where we want to be cuz everything we want is still in front of us and I think everybody knows that. Just excited to get back out on the football field and see where we can go. We’re not where we want to be and the season’s not over. Bye- reset, good opportunity to get guys healthy and a good opportunity to make a run and go 12 and five. On the road to destiny, there are times of testing used to strengthen us, refine us, and prepare us for the destiny ahead. Adversity is never perfectly timed. It’s intrusive, disruptive, and like a bad house guest, doesn’t know when it has overstayed its welcome. Though unwanted, and unwelcomed, it is one of life’s essential necessities. And I declare to each of you today that there is always purpose wrapped within the pain. The valley of the shadow of death is our reality. But you got to walk through the valley. You got to do it. It’s just how it goes. And you come out the other end. For us is continue to fight. Everybody here in this organization is we’re all fighters, you know. Uh we’ve been through adversity. uh we know what that looks like and there’s no quit in this group and I’m excit excited to show the world that this game teaches you how to respond to that, how to be resilient, how to persevere and that’s what we do. If you keep moving forward, you keep grinding, you keep chopping, you keep pounding, keep working, you keep training, and you trust and you believe in yourself and you believe in uh the man next to you, we’ll get through it. I think the veterans, we’re doing a good job of of just keeping everything level and and just letting people know, you know, this is a long season. The leaders are are the guys that do set the tone because the leaders are the core of the of the team, you know, that’s that’s our personality. That’s they set the tone for what we’re going to do and where we’re going to go. And I think uh those guys do a great job of that. If we all just paused for a second and just said, “Hey, this is our last game ever playing with each other, how would you play?” You going to do everything you can in your power to make sure every single play is to the best of your ability. And guess what the reality is? That’s the reality of this situation. And that’s the reality of football. And we need to act like that, bro. Play in and play out. Any play can be our last play. So, let’s dial in, lock in, focus on the details, focus on every little thing, man. Know your job inside and out, including myself. Being able to have guys not just lean on the same leaders over and over and have somebody that doesn’t speak out, speak is like, oh, like should listen. And been impressive to hear. But like initially, like since we’re down, we like, hey, we’re going to bump it and we’ll just take it. Take your foot down. We’ll just run with it. That’s what we talked about training camp. We’re not. You got it. I don’t believe leadership is motivation. Personally, I think leadership is way bigger than that. It is action le. It is saying the right things at the right times. It’s uh critical thinking. It’s problem solving. It’s all those things. And I believe we have the right leaders. We just need to continue to work at it. We going to go through tough times in life and anything that we doing. And the thing that’s like natural with human beings is we want to get through the tough times fast. Like we want to get through it and rush through the the hard times because nobody likes being uncomfortable. What God is going to do, he’s going to sit us down. He’s going to make us go through all the tough times that we need to so that when ease comes, we learn from everything that we face through our tough times. And that makes everything at ease. Mountain strong. That’s real. We don’t really got to do nothing special. Like all we got to do is be the Ravens. Go out there and play Raven football. Play winning football the we the way we know how to play it and everything. Take care of itself, man. That’s all I got. We all know what’s at stake. It’s a great opportunity for us this weekend, man. I don’t care what anybody says on the outside, man. Keep it in this group. Stay together. I love y’all boys. It’s like a reset. We’ve got an 11 game season in front of us to win as many games as we possibly can and make our run. But it really starts with one game. We’ve heard enough. Let’s get to the action. Let’s put the product that we all want, that we all know we’re capable of. Like, let’s talk more action. For me, that’s how I want to be is I don’t want to talk about anymore. I want to line up and control what I can control. That’s how hard I play. That’s knowing my assignments, and that’s making the plays when my number is called to get it done. 1 2 3 It’s week eight of the NFL season and the Ravens come out of the by-week looking to begin putting the season back in the right direction. It’s the Ravens and the Chicago Bears. It feel good out here. Little Sunday fun day. Today would seem to be the day that the Ravens get the chance to turn things around. They have an almost fully healthy roster except for no Lamar Jackson. So that means Tyler Hunley gets to start. They know your name if they do. And you get so many players back today like Cheeto Wooier, Rocoan Smith, Pat Ricard. Yeah, Pat. But the return of Roco Quan and Pat Ricard tells me at least right on the surface, this should be a much more physical Ravens team today. Hey man, this game simple, bro. This game about winning your one-on- ones, bro. Every time somebody lines up in front of you, I need you to think. I need you to believe he can knock with you, bro. Have that confidence. I promise you. And the Ravens, they they have a good team. They know they have a good team, but you got to go out and prove it every single week, every single down, every single snap. But it all starts today. You have to play good football. You have to play your best football today. We’ve been through this before. We prepared for this one. We prepared for this one. We’re going to do what we got to do. Like KV said, we going to play violent, baby. Yeah, Nate. Here’s what I know to be true. With every adversity in life, in football, comes with it an equal seed to respond. And when handled properly, you get exactly what you needed from the adversity, but you got to handle it right. Bears have been winning here on the opening drive at the point of attack. And now the Ravens are going to have to find a way to try to limit the Bears on this drive to a field goal try at best. Second down and goal. Give it to Manung guy. Hit in the back field. bounces off a one tackle, but he won’t get far as he is swallowed up by Teddy Buchanan for a loss of one. It’ll be third and goal. Come on, D. Third down. Third down, defense. Come on, D. Come on. Come on. Come on. 12th play of the drive. Caleb Williams to throw under pressure. Sack back at the 14 yd line. brought down from behind by Mike Green with his first NFL sack. And it could not have come at a better time. Oh, great rush by Mike Green. Just great job of slapping the hands of the offensive tackle off of him, dipping that inside shoulder, and getting to the backside feet. I was going to get it. It was going to be a game. It was going to be this one. I told you. I told y too. Could have been more clutch when I third down. Get up. Get set. Attack play. Ready to roll. It’s been all Bears in this quarter. The Ravens have only had the ball for three plays. And for a second consecutive drive, the Bears, after a long drive, will have to settle for a field goal. Holding him to a field goal here is a success for this defense. Great job, man. Great way to bow up down there. Way to bow up. Don’t worry. Don’t worry about getting push. What? I told you. What he want you to You playing He going to run by you. No. Right now, you got to be a better athlete right now. Nobody going to have to run it because you ain’t going to be able to. You feel me? That’s all he want to do. He want to slow down. He trying to control cuz he know you better than him. You know what I’m saying? That just coming from a receiver. You know what I’m saying? Now it is up to the Ravens offense, which will be led by Tyler Huntley today. Tyler Huntley making his first start of the season for the Ravens. Has a healthy backfield behind him. Pat Ricard, Derek Henry. See if they can get that running game rolling. Fakes the snap. Inside hand off to Henry. He’s got a hole. The King slams his way out near midfield. Hey, good run though. Good run. Here we go. Ever since Likely has come back into the lineup. Dev ran 12 personnel, the second most out of any team in the National Football League over 50% of the time. sets his feet, fires, and it’s caught at the 30 yd line. Terrific grab pass. Take it, Huntley. Flip it. Likely loops to the outside. It is first and 10 for the Ravens from the Chicago 12. Triangle formation to give it to Henry. Left side, the Kings down to the five. turning forward to the two and he’s all the way to the oneyd line. A gain of nine by Derek Henry as the Ravens confuse the Bears up front. And now they’ll go no huddle. Give it to Henry running left. The King is in. Touchdown Ravens. Let’s go. That felt more like Ravens football. It sure did. Derek Henry 111 career rushing touchdowns. He just passed sweetness Walter P. Outstanding blocking by Baitman and Mark Andrews on the corner and the safety to the left side of the field to get Derrick Henry into the end zone. Good block, mate. Where it at? Where it sit? That’s where we supposed to go. Car. That’s where we supposed to go want right here. I ain’t line up. You You had Where we going outside? Hey, we walked in either way. And what a difference a quarter makes. Defense has to come out there, find a way to stop the run on first down, get them off schedule. Best case scenario, three and out. Caleb Williams swing pass. Oh, good job. DeAndre Swift taken off his feet by Roan Smith after a gain of only a yard. And you think they’re happy to have him back. He’s got six tackles already. Third down and nine. Caleb Williams under pressure. Hit. The ball’s thrown out of bounds and he’s going to be dropped to the turf. This is going to be an intentional grounding. It has to be intentional grounding. Get the guys. Grounding. Grounding. Grounding. Grounding. Great job there by Zack O. The defense. You see Kyle Hamilton picking Joe Tuni on third down. It’s one of the single most like athletic plays I see on on the field on a Sunday is like this guy coming from depth picking a guard, which is usually the the the job of a linebacker in a pressure like that. and then beating everybody else to Caleb Williams. He speeds up off of Joe Tuni. It’s crazy. Told you. I told you. They have struggled all year to get pressure, so they have to find ways to manufacture it. Great job there by Zack War on the defense. Let’s go. First down. Let’s go. And now you’re good. Hey, both y’all came free. That was beautiful, bro. To the quarterback. That’s good. Hey, good tackle, bro. That was a hell of a tackle. Good tackle, bro. Ravens have scored on their last two possessions after going three and out on their first possession. Oh, he got leveled. That was too much, Harley. Oh my god. Yeah. Hammerhead. Clock at 30 seconds. Caleb Williams in the shotgun. Blitz pressure coming off the edge. Williams throws. Incomplete. Oh, that’s illegal grounding. And they’re throwing a late flag. That is a gigantic play and one that Rod called. So, the Bears will rush the kick team on with 12 seconds left in the half. It is short. No good. And the Ravens will go to the locker room at halftime leading the Bears. 106 start of the second half in Baltimore on an absolutely glorious fall day. Now, can the Ravens make the outcome look and feel as good as the weather? He’s got his man Baitman at the 35 yd line. Spins out of a tackle and the Ravens with a big play to open the second half. I’m okay. Yeah, I’m okay. Just what you’re about to know. I cannot wait till I can show you what is real. I’m on my way. I’m on my way. This is where the Rama’s running game can become so effective here in the second half. Not just gain a yardage, but wearing physically wearing down that Bears defense. Running. He’s running. Yeah, Pat woke back. Yeah, Pat woke up. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Part two. The Ravens defense has done a good job of stopping the run, putting them in pass situations and not allowing any deep balls to go over their heads. Arm down, making the tackle, baby, baby, good look. Big time tackle, Nate. So, just keep playing well. First down matters a whole lot, guys. Running to the left, turns a corner. He’s at 20, 30. Mitchell all the way out there the 40 yd line as he turns on the speed and Kate Mitchell showing that explosiveness we first saw when he flashed on the scene two years ago. Oh, we’ve been waiting for that. And that was a toss to the short side of the field. And he still blew up the sideline. Pressure coming. Huntley escapes a pocket. He’s going to run. He’s at the 40. He’s at the 30. Yes. 20. Still on his feet and finally spun down at the 17 yd line. goes Luke. Come on. That boy as Tyler Huntley for the second time on this drive saw the middle of the defense disappear and he just ripped right up the middle. That boy started teasing too hard. Look, he start cheating. Look, that boy Snoop was cheating so hard. He can’t see. Luke’s kick on the way. It is up and it is good. I ain’t going to lie. I a know he was going to push it like that. Go. On what? When I was running. Oh yeah. He push cuz I’m running like this. Yeah, I know. All his momentum hit me. Hey, I was so ready to hit bait. I said, “Oh, they open up this hole, bro.” Hey, I just didn’t know he was going to push Z like that. I was just trying to keep Sydney from the man on the right when I was running through there. Hold that damn ball. He know what you That’s what I’m saying. Like I wish they would have just picked away so then I could have said uh I thought you and then get to the open field. Yeah. Right side. Swift to the one pushes forward. Touchdown Bears. DeAndre Swift put his helmet down and just wheeled his way into the end zone and it is game on with 1222 left to play. Ravens 16, Bears 13. Ravens are going to need points from the offense. Mitchell will return this from the five cross the 15 20 outside the numbers 25 30 side steps a man 40 Keith Mitchell all the way out to the 43 yd line and Keith Mitchell continues to come up with a couple of big plays and there’s another one of them a se a Baltimore came in fewest offensive plays per game 54.2 2. They’re now at 45 offensive plays. It is fourth down and five from the Bears 39 for the Ravens. It’s probably too close to punt and too too far to kick. Going to take the snap. He was trying to draw the Bears offside. It didn’t work. And that’ll be a delay of game penalty. Now you’ve given your punter Jordan Stout more room to work with to try to pin the Bears deep in their own territory. Jordan Stout will punt. Devin Duivere awaits. High end over end punt. Duet is going to let that one bounce and it will come down and is caught inside the five yd line by Tylen Wallace who will down it at the four yd line. A perfectly executed special teams play. Come on baby. Good work. Tyler all day. Practices always pay off, buddy. Great job. Great job. It’s awesome, dude. Tyler likes it in the middle so he can look back at it. No, man. That’s all him game turning play. Nice shot. Good job. You know, that was the first pooch of the year. That was the first pooch of the year. The Ravens have struggled with blown leads in the fourth quarter. They need their playmakers, their leaders to make plays in the fourth quarter so they can close out these games. So now it’s up to the defense to get a huge stop with 948 left to play in the game and they’ve got to shut the door on the Bears. Go. Ravens have only one interception this season. There have been no turnovers in this game yet. Drops the throw from the end zone. Fires over the middle. Intercepted. Nate Wiggins with a pick. brings it along the sideline inside the 10 and the Ravens with the first turnover of the day. And finally, this house is on fire. Intercepted. Wiggins steps in front and the Ravens come up with the big play defensively. Just an incredible job of undercutting this route. The biggest defensive play of the season. And it could not have come at a more important time. Let’s go. That’s what I’m talking about. We need to know what I tell you. What I tell you? Hey, we got to do it again now. Let’s go. Catch your breath. Get ready to do it again. That’s what I’m talking about. Breath. I love you so much. Let’s go. Hey Fox. Hey Fox. Yeah. That’s how you feel. Okay then. Make sure I got the ball. Hey Fox. You going crazy. You going crazy. He a want to score though. He ain’t want to go. Now the offense has to take advantage of it and score a touchdown. Off the play fake. Hundley with time. Throws. Touchdown. Charlie Kohler. Charlie slipped open on the left flat and he waltzes in for the touchdown. And Tyler Huntley’s first touchdown of the day is huge. You can’t script it any better than this for the Ravens. Defense to offense. The Ravens make it a two-score game. Ravens 23, Bears 13. 813 left in week eight. Nice job. Nice job. Get that ball back one more time. Get that ball back one more time. One more time, bro. Hey, bro. One more time, Carl. Get that ball back one more time, bro. Hey, let go. One more time, Kyle. One more time. One more time. One more time. One more time, one more time, God. Get one more time, bro. One more. One more, boy. One more, boy. Keep talking that ball. What’s up, baby? Come on. Let’s finish. Come on. Let’s finish, baby. Let’s finish. Let’s finish, man. Let’s finish. Let’s finish. Get ready to go. We need We’ll have to have two more big stops. Everybody good? We need two more big stops. Hey, let’s get it, man. Right. Keep digging that grade, man. I feel like starting those You know what we came to do. You know what we came to do. 47 yd try for Cyro Santos. Kick on the way. It is long enough and it is good. And we are back to a one-score game. And that means you need points from the Ravens on this drive. Absolutely. If you want to breathe and feel your heart at a regular pulse level. Massive implications for the entire season here in these last 5 minutes. First downs now give you the complete balance of power as you can accumulate them. Come on. Oh, this play is critical. Third and seven. DeAndre Hopkins to the left. Huntley to throw. Looks to the near side. Back shoulder fade. It’s Hopkins. He’s got it at the Bears 35 yd line. First down Ravens. David Mitchell sprinting to the right side, turns a corner and the Speedster picks up 14 yds and another Ravens first down. It’s still some breath, fell heartbeat. Now the Ravens are getting awfully close to putting the choke hold on the Bears. This is where execution becomes paramount. Huntley keeps it sprinting to the left. He’s inside the 10 to the five and he’s pushes his way over the defensive back. Ravens have it first and goal. Given to Henry right side hit at the line, bounces to the outside. Derek Henry to the one. Touchdown Ravens. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Henry’s got his second touchdown of the day. And it was the Hunley pass to DeAndre Hopkins with three and 1/2 minutes left that makes the difference. Great run. Great run. Nice job. O line so easy. I was about to score, but I just knew I need to get first down. So crazy. Fourth down. Williams takes the snap. Wants to throw. Fires in the back of the end zone. Incomplete. We’ve waited a month for the Haze Lamar way to cut that up, man. And the Ravens losing streak is over and hope has returned for the season. Our final score this afternoon. Ravens 30, Bears 16. These guys kept so much faith in each other and the process and being a team and sticking together, handling all the arrows and slings that get tossed your way when you’re struggling. What matters is a team that sticks together and fights. Even when the outside tries to divide you, that’s okay. You got to stick together and you got to be a family. Yes, sir, man. You got it, baby. Outanding. Outstanding. We kept digging. Hey, let’s get close. Let’s get close. Come on. Let’s go. Come on, baby. How about Toky? How about Tunk? Huh? Monkey the offensive coach is a who? Wah. How about Zach or We said we were going to get that pressure. We said we were going to get that pressure and get after it. Zo and the defensive coach. Great job. How about who off the All right. How about Mike Green? First career set. Mike Green Henry 111 TD. He passed Walter Payton to win a fifth place. Who off for Derrick Henry? Downs a punt at the four yd line. Who off for Tyler Wallace? How about Jordan Stealth? How about Nate Wiggins? Two plays later gets an interception, returns it down to the line for Nate Wiggins. Yeah. How about a huge third down conversion on the final drive by DeAndre Hopkins for DHA? Charlie Kohler. How about our pass rush all day long? Who offer the pass rush? How about the old line? Run the football pass protection for the who for the line. All right. How about one more? How about how about little Katon Mitchell? Who Mitchell? Last two. Come on Snoop. Yeah. Come on Snoop. 17 of 22 186 yds one TD seven attempted run 53 yds 116.9 quarterback rating really the team bro you know we we treated this D to get us rolling let’s do it y’all boys who for Hey, let’s do it.
