DJ Turner is having an all pro season. He showed flashes his rookie year (think back to the MNF game against the Jags in 2023). He balled out last year until he got hurt. He is now arguably the best Corner in the entire NFL at this moment or is at the very worst top 5. He plays with heart, and dear god is this kid fast. Oh, and a name like JuanDrago Turner II is just badass.

If he keeps up the production, a competent team like the Eagles would sign him THIS offseason or even earlier. Pay the man and reap the rewards as he continuously outplays his contract (see PS2 with Denver).

Snap back to reality. It’s the end of 2026. Turner has played at a pro-bowl, if not all-pro, level the last 2 years and knows how much he’s gonna command. The Bengals will nickel and dime him, whether it’s because we can’t afford the guarantees, don’t know how to manipulate the cap, are just incompetent, or all of the above. He walks in free agency and balls out with another team that knows you pay you’re freaking guys. A stellar defensive player we could’ve had cheaper a year ago walks and we lose a bright spot on an otherwise abysmal defense.

Please. I beg you. Duke Tobin, Zac Taylor, Katie Blackburn, and Mike Brown…be competent. Do your jobs. Pay the guys that WORK and don’t let DJ Turner II become the next Jessie Bates…

  3. They’re stupid. The worst part about them being stupid is they don’t know they’re stupid. There is no hope, because they can’t even understand why they’re so stupid….because they’re stupid to begin with.

    It’s a perfect circular path of their stupidity impacting all decisions and leading to a lack of awareness and understanding of the issues at hand

  5. We will wait until the last possible second and either let him walk for nothing or pay 2x more than we needed to. Bengals are stupid

    You do realize that drafted rookies cannot be extended until after the final game of their 3rd year, right? It would be impossible to extend him earlier than this offseason.

    Contract negotiations are a two way street. Real life isn’t Madden. Turner could do what Chase did and refuse to sign after his 3rd season, instead banking on himself and playing at a higher level his 4th season and commanding more money.

    Or he could pull a Trey and sign an extension early and bitch about being underpaid on the extension that he signed later on.

  9. DJ Turner is so talented. I love the Bengals so much but currently his talent is being wasted. Same with so many others on the team. Don’t get me wrong I’m so happy to have Burrow, Chase, Higgins, Turner, Hendrickson, Gesicki etc on the team but it feels so selfish to expect them to stay when they could easily be key players in leading so many other teams to a Suber Bowl, let alone winning seasons.
