They said hey I need Rhett to answer this. Rat I I would just got some got some splaining to do. Like well we can’t really waited for me. Yeah. Couldn’t do it. Couldn’t wait for you. We said no, we can’t do that. Rat cannot answer that question, but do ring tomorrow. Give us a call back tomorrow. Welcome to the Mloud Law LLP studios. Uh you were you were Is it chilly in here just outside? Is the fall is in the air? Just crisp enough where you’re like, “Boys, we’re almost into November. Want to sweat, you know?” Yeah. How many Halloweens have you remember where you put your kids in like jackets with costumes underneath? Oh, it’s like we’ve There’s been a very nice jacket thing is is almost appealing. It’s when there’s actual rain and slush and then it really becomes an issue. Yeah. Yeah. But there’s one thing you could do instead of doing that. Let’s get your ass to Nashville. Nashville is that good. Or that. Is there going to be sleet in Nashville, sir? 16 degrees. It’s going to be gorgeous. You bring your minions get up. No. Oh, do you know that’d be so such a hit on would it be? Oh, yes. Uh, no. No, no. No, no, not doing that. Holer. Uh, but I will be her I will be uh bringing myself and a fistful of US 20s. Yeah. Going to need some US money. Not cheap to buy right now if you’re a Canadian. Oh yeah. It’s just better to use a card. Yeah. You don’t have to You don’t really because when you go to the bank and say, “Could I get I’m going to get uh 500 American.” Okay, that’ll be 90 billion Canadian. Oh no. Ouch. [ __ ] If I only get 250. Yeah. Still the same. 11 billion. Jeez. So when you just put your card down, you know it’s probably going to be a little pricey, but you’re not doing the conversion at that point. No. Typically, you’re at the point of I don’t give a damn. Yeah. You’re Let’s go. I’m a happy fun guy. You’re in like one lap on Earth mode, which is recognizing that this is your one life. Go have fun. Yeah. That’s why you go when they go to the World Series. Not worried about it now. And chances are I’ll probably never look at a credit card statement anyway. It’ll just be here’s a here’s a question. So we get there Friday, right? Yeah. When and the Jays play Friday. Game six. Play game six. So if there’s a game seven, by what time do we begin the discussion of we’re flying to Toronto tomorrow, right? Cuz we’ll be well into it. Well, we It will be brilliant. There’s no threat of Dean flying to Toronto, but you and I will be having that conversation. Oh, he’ll be in on the We should go. I’ll be in on the conversation. Really? All I got to do, he’s all damned up. I don’t know. I I have a weird thing with you and the Jays. Like, do you hate them different? Is it just because you love the Yankees? I don’t really get But the whole group will be, you know, Nashville versus Flames. That’s great. Yeah. This is game seven and we’re drunk and there’s flights. When is a game seven? If uh they’re all at 608 local, which would be 708 national time day. Saturday day. Oh, I’m sorry. Yeah, it’s Friday, Saturday, you’re 6 and 7. Yeah. Okay. Right. Because that’s happening. They win Friday night. Soon as that game’s over, you’re Well, it depends what happens tonight. If they win Friday night, it could be over, too. We’ll see what happens tonight. Yeah. I’ve You know, your point is I will not be leaving Nashville to fly to Toronto for a No. And I get it. Like, it’s the World Series. It’s cool, but like I would never want to fly to Yankee Stadium to watch the team. I hate the most play in a World Series. That’s kind of where I think you’re at with Yeah. I don’t hate the Blue Jays. I’m a Yankee fan. That’s not the conversation that I was trying to have. This was about us. We’re going to be smashed at tootsies. The Jays are going to win. They’re going to game seven. Let’s go. Cuz I did. There’s a buddy Sean is coming on the trip. Yeah. He sends uh that by around Sean, you cheap prick. He’s like, “Game six Friday in Nashville, boys.” He’s there’s a couple. God, I guess I never thought of that. He did say, “I just peed a little.” I don’t know if I should have said that part. Uh the other I think it’s his brother said, “So awesome.” And I said, “I won’t lie to you, boys. I’ll probably have other plans.” And I put a little uh honky tonk emoji. So good at that. Meaning I’ll, you know, I’m probably going to be uh You busted his cover there with the pee a little. Can we call him the tinkler for the trip? Is that tinkler? Sure. Yeah. Yeah. Tinkler. So, I don’t I don’t uh uh can you get us reszos at that place with the the recession buster sandwich? He brought this up. Jesus, you’re not following along. You’re really not. You’re out to lunch. Yeah. The TV is where the game Yes. Yeah. That’s not the recession buster. That’s not your own. Figure out your own baloney sandwich. If you can’t control It’s like people asking, “What do you do in Vegas?” Well, you sit on your ass on the street. It’s great. You know, they got they got Super Channel. really settle into your room. Cheap movie rentals. Um, follow along, Pinder. I’m worried about you. Ryan brought this up the other day and I just felt like going to Nashville on what this trip is going to be, making reservations feels like the only It’s a bad idea. It is a bad idea unless there’s something specific you really want to hit. Correct. And how do you include all the Shawn Dusters, the Tinklers undertaking? You kind of can’t. It’s kind of one of those, “Hey fellas, have fun. I’m going to head over here to the cool spot.” What typically happens because we’ll be around 30, I think, is that everyone will start and then you’ll just see pockets and factions and Yeah, there will be some dispersion. Yeah, for sure. And that’s just the booze and Broadway. That’s what it does. Some guys won’t care, right? Some some guys won’t care about the ball game. It’ll just be what it is. Some guys love country music. They’re not moving at all. I love this band. Yeah, that’s kind of where I think I probably fall in. I’ll be I’ll find a stool somewhere and a and a beverage and probably be like, you like stools. You want a real chair? Let me know who wins. You’re one of those stools on it. Just don’t bring us down. Okay, I’m not going to. And don’t be smug about it. I’m not going to be I’ll try not to be smug. You are very smug when it comes How are you guys? Hey, how’s the ball game? I’ll try to keep that to a uh Thanks. I’ll try that. I was just thinking as well. Is it going to be a big watch? Nashville, Tennessee. There’s not a lot of Toronto. The Dodgers Dodgers are a big long way from the Here’s the thing about Broadway. It’s not filled with people that live in Nashville, right? It’s a lot of tourists, right? And that’s the same as the strip in Vegas, yada yada yada. There will be a lot of Dodgers fans and Jay’s fans that just happen to be in Nashville because they booked the trip to Nashville like us. It’s also It is being overlooked by us. It’s Halloween. It is Halloween. I can’t decide if that adds to the the appeal or if I’m kind of almost It’s overwhelming. Like this is it’s already the Bachelorette Capital live. Cheap booze c like there’s really piling on. We’re stacking here. This is the perfect Jack is dying. Yeah, this is too much. Controlled emotions, Jack. You have a living will, Jack. Going into game seven, you got to have controlled emotions. And I’m not talking baseball game. This is your game seven. You’re going to nashville. You’re fresh off the bench. Controlled emotions. I’ll give him He was looking. So we get to take one bag. Okay. So there’s a bag like have How prepared? I’m not waiting for idiots to get their bags from bag check. The people that have not been on these trips before realize that Red has his own program and that sometimes that’ll overlap with other people’s programs, but if he is asked to wait 5 minutes, he’s already gone. Yeah. that that will disappoint the people that were, “Hey, we’re going with the barber.” I didn’t see Rhett all weekend. But the thing is, you’ll know where to find him. He’ll be posted up at Tootsies 5 minutes after the hard to find. No, he’s not hiding. Not going to Yeah, he’s just being efficient. There’s a lot of people down in that little area. I know. Gosh. And it’s Halloween. Street me will be roaring at night. Nick Alber is going to be yelling Italian at some chick trying to speak Spanish at the hot dog stand. Not sure he’ll be there. That has happened in Nashville. But anyway, um sports Mloud Law LLP studios. Mloud Law, we’re going to need you on speed dial this weekend. Just keep your ringer on. Yeah, there’s definitely a few things we need to have you at the satellite office in the great state of Tennessee. The Calgary Flames snapped their eightgame losing streak the other night against the New York Rangers Sunday. Ron So you win one game, score five, that’s one. And then you you score two, that’s two in a row, and then three. Well, that is a streak. It has been known to happen. Win trend streak. So looking to build on that oneame win streak event last night against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Toronto. Uh they came close but fell by a score of four to three. Max Doy with a pair of goals. Couple good shots. Matthew Ny, he’s a big He’s a big person. He’s a large fellow. Yeah, he’s a big strong You had leads at one nothing and 2-1. It was a weird game in the because watching us, I feel like and maybe it’s because we’re a little down on the Flames and it’s been a tough start to the season. Oh, we’re high in the Flames. We just But watching is feel like the Flames are doing all right here. And then you look at the shot clock 374 or whatever it was. Kind of getting away on them here a little bit. Am I Am I paying close enough attention? What am what am I seeing here? Um, but I still feel like having watched the game and shot clock be damned that were it not for some really bad mistakes, yeah, some uncharacteristic turnovers and sloppy play in their own zone that the Flames probably could have gotten a win here. A lot of kids in the lineup, Dean, and those things will happen with kids like kids like Michael kids along with their kids. That’s right. Yeah, kids like back then. Did you want to I feel like we can look at the Flames. That was smug and cheap. That was smug. Very smug. Uh we talked about just going to be, you know, moving. You got Morgan Frost who’s a centerman. He’s good in the dot. You’re moving him to the wing. Really? Are you? Well, it seemed to work against the Rangers. Look good with Jonathan Hubedo and Nasam Codri. Look at weaving, diving. Is it slow? Is the internet working? Does that seem slow or is that the It looks a little It does feel a little slow, choppy, but I that’s not McDavid zip through. No, that’s uh Ter Living’s gargantuan blue line. That is a weird angle cuz it looks like Frost is going to miss the the net by about a foot. It’s like he he whiffs and then doesn’t get a good shot off and it goes slowly reach out and bank it in some off the skate zip right flutter puck posting in. It’s a bounced. You’re going to take it. Yeah. Welcome to the top line. We said yesterday there’s one of those Toronto guys. is going to want to play well in Toronto. Back gets a goal. Revenge game we said. That’s right. Should have bet it. Yeah. I don’t know if revenge or how that works, but uh it’s old man. And then uh Leafs are tie it as you said. Doy uh can shoot the puck. Zip. He was a he was a first round pick coming out of the London Knights. Like this guy’s this guy can really score. He’s got some jam. We know who his old man is. And here again, this Wolf is way too deep. There’s a pinch there and then there’s a It’s a twoon one. Yeah. I mean, it’s What’s What’s Hanley doing there, Red? What’s the terminology? It’s Is he testing cakes? Although, it was kind of a twoon-one. It was kind of a twoon one. Almost a threeon two. Now, and I don’t know if it goes off of Hanley’s stick or not. It was the old Don Cherry. He’s like, “If you’re a defended, get the stick out of the way cuz even if you don’t tip it, he can’t goalie can’t see it.” That that fraction of a second anyway. Of course, he’s going to put a stick out there. He’s trying to block the shot. It’s a It’s a hell of a shot. So, that ties it to one. Ties it to one. Yeah, hell of a shot. You probably weren’t going to shut out the We’re going to go with it. Hell, you’re going to shut him out. You’re in this thing. All right. All right. Get back on it. Get after it. And get after it. They do. Some line juggling. Moving on. Coronado started on the fourth line. He scored five last game. Where are they? Farabby cuts to the net. He’s on the fourth line. He’s been demoted. Hey, take this. Go get him, Chuck. Chuck Farby. Yeah. Didn’t know that. Well, Chuck Farabby CF. Well, there’s there’s do now. Doy’s testing cakes there. If you see, he’s he’s doing a little stick work there. It doesn’t work. That’s not going to work on Chuck. Can we Yeah. pause for just a moment. Joel Farby, God bless you. You’ve been playing your tail off. Finally got one. Feel good. Sleep well. Yeah, good for you. I don’t sleep too good. You lost. Wow. Spoiler. How many games? Still waiting for the outcome. Did he go without? Uh, this was game 11. Chuck couldn’t chuck it in the net. A few. I mean, it was 29. He’s been good. I’ve liked Fary’s game. Yeah, he’s been really good. Well, at least no longer. He should sleep good at night if you’re on his side. That’s right. I’ve liked his game. That’s important. Be be well, Chuck. So, there you go. Bet. Got that lead back. got the lead back. Stellar is tired of guys crashing the crease. He’s like, would you guys get these the hell bastards? Um, and then you don’t want to give up a goal. I mean, well, we’ll take a look here and see. So, there’s 40 seconds left, Brett. 40 seconds left. Oh no. Where are you going with that puck? I’m going to go to the safe place behind my Oh no, I lost the puck. Backland is calm and cool with the puck. He knows what he’s doing until. So, the puck comes here. He’s going to grab it. Okay, I’m going to turn. No. Away from you. I’ve got it. No, I don’t have it. And Okay. So, sorry, Dustin Wolf. That’s on me. See, this is the problem with the game of hockey. These guys don’t know how to play hockey. Fat Cats, do you want to whiteboard? Hang on to the puck. Do you want to whiteboard this or is there any need? There’s so many pylons and apparatuses on the ice all the time that they just Yeah. I’m going to just make a move cuz we’ll see later on in the off the glass would have worked there. Yeah, just straight out the way. I feel like we saw that play in the playoffs and it really cost one team. So anyway, tied at two. So anyway, after 40 minutes. Pause. Back it up. Uh oh, we’re going to need a white. I need a volume. I want some volume on it too if you don’t mind. really crank it. You can really crank the volume. Is that your lab code? I’m just want to Yeah. Okay. He’s in the corner. It’s his whiteboard. There may not be. You got any volume up and we’re probably not allowed to have volume. I think you can have Who the f is talking to these? Like how about some communication? We sit in here for hours in chat. You guys can’t spend two seconds letting a guy know by it up. Let’s see if we can hear you. I don’t Hanzik open your yap. I feel like backs should know that there’s it still needs to be talked. You see, this is the thing with you. You always are willing to It’s just one thing. They’re wearing blue shirts. Lauren Mullikin told me back in junior. Okay. Sass blades early 90s, mid 90s. Yeah. It’s usually not the first mistake. It’s second and third. Like it’s combination. Man, I do feel like I heard the odd hey, there was a bit of a Oh, [ __ ] There’s a bit of that. You know what kills you is that it’s on his forehand and he has faced the exact spot you’d want to shoot it off the glass and out. It is the simplest of plays. It’s like if you’re on your backhand, okay, maybe I get it, but like look at there it is. That’s your chip right there off the glass and out. Chippy chippy chip chip chip. I made millions of dollars making this the opposite play of what he did. Just the exact opposite. To the point people made fun of me, my abilities, Dean, they were celebrating. You know what wouldn’t have happened if I was having that puck on my stick. You weren’t cutting back to Dangle. We’re 21 going into the third. Okay. But yeah, instead it’s 2-2. All right. Just All right. Just dig in here. Dig in. Dig in. This is fine. And you get to the third. Just don’t make any more mistakes. All right. Clean it up. Just don’t make any more mistakes. It’s going to be fine. It’s going to be just fine. All right. Time check inside the first four minutes of the third. Dean. Yeah. You want to have a good start. It’s a power play. Oh, no. That would have And then don’t you fall on your goalie and you turn over the puck and then it’s Yeah, this is the fourth or fifth mistake there that cost the good. See, it’s not the first one. Dean, do we want the Do you need the whiteboard? I feel like I feel like this is We’ve got Noodles is watching. So, this is good. So, let’s do the whiteboard. We can show uh slowly now. Who? There it is. Red’s white board. That’s important. Here we go. It’s really important. You’re killing the penalty, Dino. You got to win the face off, right? Yeah. All right. Let’s see here. Yeah, it’s a bit of a muck draw. Could have got a shot there, but you’re already down. On your stick. Oh, no. See, back in the day, Dino, I’m going to go right back to it. I made a career out of this. Use a glass. Awesome. I I understand you’re more skilled than I am, but use a glass. That’s awesome. You couldn’t have hit him. That’s Austin Matthews there. Do you know squarely in the chest? Back it up, Jack. How what happened with the puck? Was it spinning? Well, and look at look at ball. He’s He’s doing a a steamroller on the goalie. I don’t know what ball’s supposed to do, though. He kind of got wiped out. Yeah. And that wipes out your goalie and then Coleman bobble behind the net and a fair failed clearance by Rasmus. It’s the fifth or sixth mistake there. Now, I had to do this with my kids last night watching this game. What’ you have to do? Whiteboard. Yeah. Okay. Okay. So, it’s three to two. You’re still in this thing. It’s fine. It’s early. Lots of time. Next goal is a big one. That’s five last game, Dino. Next goal is a big one. Just get the next one. They’re only getting what we give them. That’s right. Oh, it’s the right end here, too. That’s good. Oh, I’ve seen that pass. Probably Rangers made one of those. Paul Ranger. So, there you go. Hey, get the next one. You’re good. And they got it. First goal for Hanzik. Again, a bit of a turnover. I think you would call that. Not sure where that pass is going. Yeah, I don’t know. Not sure. Can you back that up, Jack? Is this the white board? Do we need the whiteboard? Is this a I have no reason to piss myself, but I did, so I’m going to get rid of it. Like, are you scared of getting hit? Is there And there’s glass on that side of the rink, too. Also, glass. Also, this fella here barely can skate. Oh, but we’re going to go blind across. Zinc, good for Hanzo. He’s played well. That is good for him. You know what, Dino? Yeah. Jay’s are playing. They won’t talk about this. Is that what it is? The Jays are playing later. Well, we’ll find out what’s on the number one rated radio show coming up. All right. So, you’ve tied it up. You’ve made some mistakes, but you’ve capitalized. They’ve only gotten what you’ve given them, Dino. This is a game that you can control. That’s right. You got a point. Put it to bed. You’ve got the outcome in your hand. Okay. You’re too far ahead already. There we are. No, your clip is too You start too soon. Yeah, it’s cuz that’s kind of the second Mackenzie Wager. So, what did I say about, you know, you make one mistake? It’s okay. Okay, so McGuer throws it away for no apparent reason right up the gut again. I don’t know why two minutes left. Now it’s stuck. Now, let’s just slow this down here. Are we in tough shape? You’re okay there. You got You’ve got four guys inside your zone and they’ve got what? I think they do have four. Let’s go real slow here, Jack. There you go. Okay. So, what is it? Do you know? Oh, you’re It’s four on four is what it is. Clearly, you don’t know. You don’t pay attention and squ It’s four on four. Look at that. One saw, two. Yeah. Four white and four blue. It’s just on the edge there. You can see him. Yeah. So, if you just kind of take a guy. Has anyone got the puck in a scoring position at this point? Right. Feels like it’s up for grabs, right? Like a 50-50 puck. So, we should be in fine shape even after effing it up. All right, Jackie. Let’s So, this is called Stop. This is called staring at the puck. Mr. Wager here has got his eyes really locked in. Where are you headed, son? And oddly enough, it ends up as stick. Okay. Well, perfect. Go ahead. Stop. Oh, forehead. You got two idiots in Toronto running into each other. They don’t even know what the hell they’re doing, but we can we combat this with more stupidity. Now, what did Stop. What did Bland do when he turned it over and caused the goal against? It’s called trying to do too much, kids. Puck handling. There’s a time and a place and there’s two minutes left in the game and you’re in a slot under pressure after a bobble and a screw up. Ah, get it the f out. Nope. There’s holding. Wait, where is everyone going? They’re going to get the game winner. Oh, the Leafs were poor Huska. You know who I feel bad for? Look at this [ __ ] That is garbage. Sloppish. You know who I feel bad for? Trent Cull. Because he’s a good man with a great mustache. He’s got What about Wolfie? Do you feel for him at all? I feel for him, too. Yeah. God. Can you imagine trying to keep your cool with that kind of [ __ ] I had a tough time. Tough time. There might be some. Our next guest has just been given a clinic on how to analyze a game. He might be able to use that later this afternoon. I think he could probably use it. Yeah, you might be able to use him as a reference, too. Well, I was watching it. Believe me, I was calling a game and I had it on the screen right next to me and I I texted a buddy and said Anderson and we should have taken their gear off long before that because like that’s the type of stuff like it it’s all right for rookies to make mistakes, but like I come back to it. There’s no urgency in and and this isn’t just restricted to the Calgary Flames. No, I watched it last night in Chicago, Ottawa. I see it throughout the league. There’s just there’s no spidey sense as to danger zones anymore. It’s just go play and god forbid you knock somebody on their rear end in an area like you were you guys had slowed down the weaguer situation there where he muffed it up the middle and then decided to take it from forehand to backhand. Is anybody knocking anybody down? No, no, no. And and the thing is is nobody reads the clock and goes, we’re in the twominute zone. We got you we got a point in our pocket and we can go get it in overtime. And you know, these are self-inflicted gunshot wounds. That’s what they are. These aren’t Yeah. And and credit to the Leafs for forchecking. Credit to them for for stripping pucks. And but that’s the thing like they there’s there’s no danger. Yeah. I saw you know you pointed out backs like backs got to make it just a simple safe play. Safe isn’t death sometimes. Safe is just let’s let’s kick the can down the road and go get that puck in the neutral zone. And there there again these aren’t that’s not uh Pereck doing that. No, that’s Weager. That’s Anderson like penalty kill. I get you want to go through the middle, fire it. If Austin Matthews is gonna knock that puck down, you should hit him in the head with it with a slap. Like, he’s got to pay a price for that, not just grab his grab it out of the air. Well, and if he does, accept it and don’t go crazy running around with your head chopped off. That’s the other thing. So, Anderson fires it up the middle, goes for a two pad stack, then ball runs over the goalender. The goalender ends up face down in the corner because I don’t, you know, he’s he’s made two huge saves already. forced it outside. Coleman loses a battle behind the net and then Anderson actually has it in this in he’s now playing goal and the puck is he’s swatting at it and and him and N just N is like okay you’re going to give me an open net I’ll just shoot it in like it it’s it’s dog park defense what’s going on park is it uh is it you know what dog park defense is tell me more you ever seen you ever seen I don’t animals don’t like me so I don’t have a But if you ever go to you ever go to a dog park or walk by one, there’s just dogs running everywhere. It’s it’s there’s no semblance. There’s one ball that everyone’s chasing chaos. That’s dog park defense right there. There’s no semblance of structure. There’s no, hey, I just handed my partner a pile of scheming crap, but I’m going to get back into position and support him and let him battle out of it. It’s like, I’m going to chase it down. I’m going to make up for my mistake and then everyone else is going to watch. We’re going to blow the zone with two minutes left. Trust that we is going to get that puck to Coleman over there. He doesn’t. Dvaris strips it. Now it’s like, you know, Domi’s like, “Okay, twoon-one close in. I’ll I’ll pick my corner.” You’re right. The goalie should be going crazy going what is going on in like when you have the puck on your own stick in your own zone you control your own destiny twice and on your forehand too fellas this isn’t a tough play it’s disappointing because you played I I I thought they played solid. I thought they played well. I thought they at least deserved a point and then you can have a coin flip in in overtime to see if skill will take over. But at the end of the day, these are these are mistakes that are not that’s not Toronto going, you know, we’ve been all over you and forcing you to make mistakes. These are mental errors. These are lack of dedic not lack of lack lack of lack of game awareness, lack of awareness of and reading the clock, desperation. I know it’s October. I know it’s a what was it? A Tuesday night in October. I get it. but like have some semblance of bearing down. Like I I don’t if Daryl Sutter was coaching the team, I don’t know if those guys would have been able to walk back in the dressing room. They would had to dress out in the parking lot. I don’t know. Rightfully so. That’s part of the problem is that it’s it it it was disappointing to watch. Obviously, I was watching it live and you know there’s there’s a two beside the wins category and one was a gift noodles. One was a gift in Edmonton and that the gift was given last night. I don’t know if Stuart Skinner was handing goals out again last night. He was doing his Mike Smith impression. He’s getting ready for Halloween. Edmonton just decided that you we’re going to put up six and and not deal with that. But but at the end of the day, like it was disappointing if you’re a Flames fan because you’re sitting there going you you you know, listen, you you played at home, you’ve gone out to out east. It is, you know, a little bit of a tough transition. No, usually going Sorry, I got to interrupt say I disagree. I know that going out east can be, but not to Toronto. Toronto still for for love it or hate it, Toronto is a major center where typically when you only play there once in a blue moon, you’re excited. Well, I I I agree. I would be excited. I would be excited to take my passport and go down to Buffalo the night before the game. I would be excited to do that type of stuff that we did. But the point being is the night before. Well, don’t worry about it. Okay. Yeah, there was not an off day. There’s not an extra day. What you don’t do, you don’t go out with Douggee G. Yes. The night before a game in in Toronto. So, anyways, the point being is playing the Leafs and you go to Buffalo the night before a game against the I keep there’s a guy that we know that that used to play there and has friends there. So, anyway, I’m sorry, Jamie. Back to you. I just I I look at it. You’re right. It’s not a tough transition, but the time zone, the game started early. You there’s lots of built-in excuses to go, okay, like, hey, we we can get our minds wrapped around this. But as the game went on, you settled in, these are just these are poor errors by veteran players that should know better. Put it that way. That’s what I’ll end on. That does not look like a cohesive unit. Well, and and to Jaime’s point, like mistakes happen that you were not under siege for five minutes. like this is a team that has one regulation win in 10 games. Did you sense the desperation of getting another win when it mattered? How much of it is though because the guys that we’ve brought up, those are the veterans and their best players and a lot is expected of those guys. It’s not a young team by any means, but certainly on the back end and we’ve defended I’ve defended weaguer a little bit. Who’s he playing with? It’s Bean or it’s Mir Manov. It’s just it’s a it’s a revolving door of guys who maybe should or shouldn’t be in the National Hockey League. I just feel like those are the guys success failure is going to be on their stick on their back trying to do too much trying to make the smart play 20 22 25 minutes a night. I just wonder it it all kind of came home to roost on the same night but those are the guys that have to feel like if this if we’re going to pull out of this we’re the guys that are going to be doing it. Well, you you have to have some semblance of like I guarantee you they woke up today, they they see the same things we see and you know the coaches have clipped that and say what are we doing here the other day like Weaguer’s had some real you could speak to it because you know the position better than anybody. Weaguer’s had some real gap some He’s going north when they’re going south. He’s too hard. He’s pushing too hard. Which I I I as a player I respect that somebody pushing hard because they care and they want they’re almost it’s counterproductive. You want to you want it so bad you’re trying so hard you actually you know pull yourself out of out of um position. I the guy up north Darnell Nurse does it all the time. Barnell nurse, less is more with him, but he you make a mistake and then he chases it because a mistake I got to go make up for it. And and I get that and the only thing I can say as a goalender. The harder you try, the counterproductive it is. You can’t you you can’t stop the puck harder because what happens? You stiffen up. You you open holes chasing it because you care. You want to show that you’re I I’m not questioning his desire. I’m not questioning his effort. I’m just questioning that, you know, sometimes less is more. Like R, you were laying it out and I was sitting there watching, taking notes. Yeah. Simple play is sometimes the best play. That’s and that’s what we see now. It’s ingrained in these players minds to make a defenseman. Make a play. Get the forwards. Sometimes it’s just fine to have a 5050 battle. Fight live to fight another day. Let the fight another day, kick the can down the road and go, “Hey, I’m going to chip it to a safe space and we’re going to go get that puck back.” Maybe the forwards come to the bench and go, “Hey, I was a I was available. I would like a direct pass there.” Yes. Okay. We’ll come back and support the play next time and we’ll get you that puck. That’s you know, we the banter between forwards and D are always I’ve heard it from Iggy a lot about that. Yes. Iggy Iggy and Robin would yell at each other. R you would join in too because Iggy would say, “Did you not see me there?” and Robin say there were six people in between you because you were at the far blue line and this is when the red line was still in play. So, um you know the the point being is I I I don’t know if you’re Huska, you show these mistakes. These guys are veterans. They know what they’re doing, but there has to be some semblance of urgency. This isn’t a team like Utah that’s won seven in a row and they’re going to have an off night and you go, “Okay, like we we got ahead of ourselves here.” or Ottawa last night. They put up a touchdown two nights in a row and they they’re gonna show up in Chicago and go, “Yeah, we’re just going to beat this team.” And they give up seven. Like Calgary’s in a unique position because when they look at the standings, San Jose is ahead of them. They’re last in the league, I believe. Correct me if I’m wrong. Yeah, that’s correct. Right. So, when you’re last in the league, and it’s posted on the white board that Rhett uses and it’s whites, it’s everywhere. You’re How are you getting out? Well, we need points like that. that the desperation wasn’t there. I’m worried that that that the balloon is very deflated already and there’s a lot of holes in it and I I don’t disagree with you and it should be that way. Right. A couple of years ago there was a whole whack of guys in Calgary said basically admitting, “Get me the f out of here.” Yeah. I think there’s a lot of guys sitting in that room already and I’m reading tea leaves. I see a lot of guys sitting in that room going, “This is going to be a long year and maybe a long couple years and we can play real good and still end up.” No, yeah, they’re they’re calling the agents saying I think at this point if you told the veteran leadership group that this team would not be in a position to be close to the playoffs in December, they’d believe it. Now we’re out of camp. They were talking about 97 points. We lost the tie break mission 97. Like I think now the seed of doubt has been planted and that’s sort of what you’re talking about. You start looking around be like well who actually is in this for the long haul. Yeah. Who am I running with? You’re right. It it might shave a layer off of it. Even if it’s subliminal, you’re looking at it going, I’m still trying hard. I’m still going to commit. still but in the end you know if I’m here and pot committed it is going to be a long couple years now I the counterbalance of that is Rasmus Anderson there’s teams that would cover him you’re watching that going am I going to give up a king’s ransom for that he’s not helping the cause he has not been great you know and they put him in the ball the whole season like at least with weaguer you’re saying he’s playing with waiver claim caliber guys like Anderson doesn’t have an excuse you’re with a steady big stay-at- home guy that defends one. The only c and it’s not a catch. What what Anderson needs to realize cuz he pouted about everyone told me I sucked all year last. No one said that. We’ve never said that. Were you as good as normal last year? Were you hurt? And we said you were hurt. No one has ever really criticized. We’ve actually really enjoyed you as a Calgary flame. Blah blah blah. He’s taking money out of his pocket. You said it the other day. He’s driving down the QE2 throwing hundos out like this. This guy is costing himself a lot of dough with his play. Whether you want out or not, I don’t give a [ __ ] That’s your prerogative. But be smart enough to realize you need to play better if you want that big money. If the Kings actually put seven time or eight time on the table, which was the rumored ask, which was, I believe, the Cherin deal, which the Flames weren’t willing to do. Like, I don’t know that he’s a maximum player if he’s gonna play like this. Like, it really feels like it’s dropped off a bit. the the only you’re right. The only caveat I I think there are teams that might be desperate enough to go, okay, we want a right shot defenseman that can play that and and you know how the arrogance of organizations are. We’ll make that’s in Calgary. But with us, we will get the most out of this player, you know. Uh um and we’ve seen it. Seth Jones last year, like you go to a different environment, a winning team, the sun’s out. Yeah. But it took Pierre Luke Dubois two stops. Right. LA it didn’t work. But then Pierre Luke Dwa is 25 or 26 as well. Right. Right. Not not 29. What is Anderson? 29. Rasmus just turned 29 two days ago. Okay. So So year one of his new deal he’ll be 30. He ain’t old. But so are you really going to go to 38 or 37 or 36 with him? That’s the question. If you’ve already seen what I think is a significant drop from 27 to 29. I I I think teams will, but I I guess my my point is if you’re Connie and you’re trying to maximize the return for that, is the return going to be as high if he continues to not we’ll just call it inconsistent because I I believe he’s a good player. I believe he has tremendous upside, but the inconsistencies. So, you know, you’re on a big stage regardless of want people want to admit it or not. Last night is a big stage. you’re in Toronto, it’s there’s a lot of media coverage, all of that. People wake up today going and believe me, I would I would without knowing I would argue that Toronto would be a team that would covet Rasmus Anderson. They need they need a puck moving defenseman, right? I don’t know if he’d want to go. He controls. Does he have a full new full new six teams? I think that’s it. Yeah. So maybe maybe Canadian teams are on it. Who knows? I I don’t know who’s on his list. But I would argue if I’m the Toronto Maple Leafs, there’s a couple players I’d be looking at in in Calgary. One has played there before. It’s Nazam. And the other one is is a guy like Anderson or Weaguer, one of the two that can move the puck. And because they don’t, if you look at that Leaf team, they don’t have puck movers. Morgan Riley’s their be best puck mover who which he can, but he’s limited in certain areas. They need more guys. Love Chris Tannon, but he’s not a puck mover. Jake McCabe’s not a puck mover. Brandon Carlos not a puck mover. Simone Ben Wisa is not a puck mover. Philip Meyer’s not a puck mover. That’s their deal. Oh, and all for Ecman Larson used to be a puck mover, but he’s now 34 years old and falls into that, you know, hey, we want him to play on the third pairing, second pairing if we have an injury. So th those two D would be coveted like and and I’m not just talking Toronto. I’m throughout the league. Is Weaguer available? And do you think that he’s one I’m not I think Calgary keeps weaguer I mean I I I don’t think he’s I don’t I’ve met him several times. I think he’s a wonderful person. I think he’s a good player. I I don’t know if he wants to be there for the long haul. This is the question I’m starting to have. Sorry I’m cutting you off because I’m leading the witness. I said it last year when we were talking about trading Anderson. I actually said well I said well if we’re going down another’s path why is we not he’s locked up. Is he not more attractive for I don’t know what his no trade clause is. I have no none of that. But the point was if I’m a te trading for one of the Flames defenseman, I’m interested in weaguer as much as Anderson and Wager’s got the full move this year and next and then it drops to a list and it’s but at some point if you are weaguer and you were like I’m trying to get in his head and I’m like well I played in Florida and that was fun and then they won some cups and now I’m in Calgary. I don’t. The problem is when you’re not winning, it’s not that people, the players dislike your city or your organization. They’re just looking at their careers going, “Where can I win? Where can I win? And am I going to ride it out here?” We said it earlier over the next couple years. Am I riding this out? Well, you just talked about a deflated balloon. Maybe that’s a scenario where we looks at it and goes, “Am I do I want this for the long haul for my career?” Yeah. Again, that’s he controls that and I’m not starting a rumor. I’m not putting words in his mouth. You know, this is a guy that that has been a good soldier, committed to the Calgary Flames, for the most part’s been a good player. Didn’t have a great night last night. We all have them. Um, but at the end of the day, there has to be from Conniey’s perspective probably a couple nofly zones as far as, you know, Wol’s not available. you know, name me a couple players that you feel might correct, not might, you know, not available. I don’t know. Is Coronado, guys like that? I hope so. Yeah. Yeah. But but at the end of the day, everybody else I’m listening. Well, and I just think like they have so few NHL top four defensemen. You already I think we’re all in the camp that it’s 95% Rasmus is gone at some point, right? like it would be stunning for him to be on this roster beyond the trade deadline extension or not. What are you left with? Like because I don’t know that this management group nor this owner want to strip it back at that far. You need to keep an actual top pair guy. Well, you don’t have to trade weaguer now. No. And you can’t for two years anyway because he controls all process. But my point is that I think the owner wants to it’s more the retool than the like strip it to the studs. trade anyone that’s this it whether he wants it or not he doesn’t have to do anything and they might still win the mission McKenna like the way they’re going it is a it’s a deflated balloon like they’re going to have a very hard time what are they climbing up to yeah if they get on a really good run where are they 25th in the league like what are we talking about that the other thing too is it comes back you’re right you you still need players around you know veteran players on term around these young guys to help them grow, you know, like that’s that’s part of the process if it’s a retool and not a scorched earth. The other thing is though is at some point what does the it comes back to Rhett’s point at some point or at what point does we go I’m looking at myself in and go I I’m not sure I can endure this or I want this. Yeah. You know, there there might be I think Coleman is a guy that people would would covet too. He’s a winner, you know, two cups, third liner, checker, good good par, all of that type of stuff. He checks a lot of boxes for teams that would want, you know, depth to go for on a deep th deep run. So, you have to look at players that make sense, but then it comes back to the conversation, is is there somebody there that we expect to be there that all of a sudden might not want to be? and and you know now Conniey’s got to make a decision because if you’re making a decision going Rasmus is out and then we puts his hand up and goes well hold on a second I’m thinking of you know of thinking of my career to try and win now you know do you look at Anderson to keep like do you you keep one or the other like that’s the that’s I say no but I I don’t think we type of guy to just put his hand up and say I I I want I don’t either I think you’re a couple years away from that and I But again, it’s like you’re already married to Hubo. You gave back on an extension. He’s going to be one of your veterans that’s going to surround all these young kids that are going to join this team between, you know, Christmas and the next three years and whoever you draft, wherever you draft. Balls locked in long term. It’s really what we’re talking about is Nasam and Coleman. The guys that are close to the end of a contract that all of a sudden have some options in terms of saying, “Okay, I’m I’m on the back nine. This I might be on my last contract. Am I better suited elsewhere? Let me ask you this. I I wanted to ask Jamie about this one because you’re in Toronto and Nauseam and that whole thing and he has three years left at 7 million. That doesn’t feel like the end of the contract to me, right? Like that’s three more years for a guy who’s 35 and who right now is playing well, but it’s a $7 million hit for a 35 year old guy with three left. I just wonder he will be a major asset to a team. he’s going to step on the ice, be very good for them. I just wonder what’s the what’s a fair asking price. Depends on if you make him a $5 million player or $4 million player for teams that are pressed up against it. You can get more. They’re less worried about that term. If it’s four or five, I’d agree. You got to get a lot more. Like that’s the thing you That’s something you have to do, right? Sure. So do it. might have under the cap if you’re asking you know if it’s not a lot of teams have seven million and they might have depth down the middle of the ice he’s your number three right that’s the biggest thing and and you know Nas has had a decent start I do father time is chasing him there has been some nights where he doesn’t have that pop he doesn’t have that speed he’s he’s he’s not a he’s not a burner he’s a darter like he darts He reminds me of Ray Whitney speed. Ray Whitney was a darter, but he wasn’t blast out speed guy, but he’s skilled and he’s got bite and he would have value. But is it at 7 million value for the next three years or is it really attractive? He’s if he’s a four million or $5 million player. Yeah. And then you got to retain for three years, which is something that owners and GMs are leer to do. That’s one of your three retention slots. They had lots of money and space last year to use and what did they do with it? Nothing. Yeah, they didn’t they didn’t move at what clearly feels like the peak of his I asked just before this is the Russian in play the uh where’s the sharing? I just don’t know that like who wants that guy at that money sell immediately if you could get him to a spot where he is a commodity. I think they’d happily I think Joel Ferby’s a guy that with two years left at five or whatever it is like could ye some get him like they got too many bottom nine wingers. They’re they’re putting guys that should be playing in the press box. Not because this team is so good but because most of this roster is second, third, and fourth line wingers. They don’t have topline wingers. Right. But I, you know, you look at it if you can get out from out and underneath it and it’s almost like trade for somebody else’s bad you know new fresh start you know give me a give me a look at at somebody else that makes a defenseman maybe if you if you feel like you’re losing Anderson who will be moving on is there a defenseman out there that would that mid late 20s potentially bad contract somebody else and they clear out enough space here’s the best case scenario I see for this team if they want to do a quick retool is to clear out as much space as they can, get the best draft pick they can, and hopefully the number one, and do you think with the Caps, can you offer a top end guy enough in free agency? And does it make sense? Well, if you get you can sell hope if you get a Golden Goose. Yeah. If you get McKenna, it’s like, hey, we got now I was in Chicago last night. It’s taken a bit a bit for this Bard to arrive. obviously hattrick last night, but he’s a he’s a hell of a player early on. I didn’t like his his last year. He had a [ __ ] attitude. Well, I just didn’t like I I thought he got pushed off pucks. I didn’t love his pace and he wasn’t good away from the puck. But I forget that at 18 years old, not everybody just hits the ground running. You have to learn how to play in the league. Yeah. The lights’s gone on. So, I I talked to a few people that like this guy is a really dedicated professional. He’s in great shape. Like really good shape. Works hard at his craft. Um yeah, looks like you minus the Zmpic. And uh Pinder told me that to say I didn’t say anything, Noodles. I didn’t say I was talking to him. I did not say Noodles. The point. But this kid works hard and and the light has gone on and he’s starting to realize, okay, what’s my spacing look like on the ice? Where do I need to go to get that shot away? Because to me, last the last couple years, he’s been too stagnant. Just standing there waiting for the puck and then to shoot it away and good de are closing on him and he wasn’t getting that shot away. Now he’s putting himself in positions. He’s creating some space for himself. He’s he’s pushing back. Uh he’s absorbing hits. I I outside of a hat-tick yesterday, I really liked his game, just the way he went about his process. So, my point being is Chicago, you can see the growth there. They’ve got a couple other good young players that that that Nazar is a nice player. Uh they’ve got some young D there. They got Spencer Knight, who’s I think is a fantastic goalender. Um you know, well documented his struggles off the ice with OCD, all of that type of stuff. He’s gotten help with it. He’s he’s a he’s a really talented goalender. They got him I think at 5.8 for the next five years. He’s 24 years old. So they got a goalie. They got some young D there and they’ve got Bedard. They’ve got Nazar. They’ve got some players and and now you’re starting to add. They picked up Burkosski. You know these mid-level players that are helping kind of shape around. So coming back how I would apply it to the flames if if the year continues in this pace and you end up getting McKenna and then you’ve created cap space by trading Anderson for picks or prospects maybe it’s Coleman maybe it’s Cry and you’re retooling but you’ve got a golden goose all of a sudden somebody who’s available in the off season and you’re going to overpay you just it’s the market it’s all of that but you go hey we might have some flexibility ility to to land a top tier unrestricted free agent or you can acquire somebody with that term that is willing to go there uh with the currency that you’ve gotten Conniey’s gotten with Anderson trade or cadry trade or you know all of that. So I I think there’s flexibility but with that flexibility the the pain to get there is going to be it’s going to be a long year. Can I give another example? be any more painful than it already is. This is epic failure. It’s It’ll speed it up in a way, wouldn’t it? Like just so I think it has just to be the acceptance. I look at San Jose CBrini, I don’t think we thought was going to be the player he is. We thought he was going to be real good. He’s already astounding. Like he’s got 15 points or something insane. He’s right there amongst the league leaders. They weren’t able to go get top top top UFAs with cap space despite having this guy and Will Smith. And then they had Misa this year. But they did go get Tyler Tofoley on a deal that’s probably too rich for a contender because they had cap space. They did get Dmitri Orlov who’s a big stabilizing left shot D. They did get John Clinberg who built some value back up with Edmonton last year. They can move the puck. That’s kind of the aisle you’re shopping in. It’s not going to be Eel. It’s not going to be Mner like the theoretical free agents of this summer or next summer, but you can probably find those second tier guys and overpay a bit. Look what Anaheim did. Chris Crider Trouba. Yeah, sure. You start to add these around these young players and go, “Yeah, I’ll go there and play with those young guys and and you know, make some good money and like I I agree what you but you need that piece to go, we see we’ve got a a golden goose. We’ve got a special player here that now we need to build out.” And Chicago did it. It took them in phases. They gave Nick Felino too much money. They gave Cory Perry too much money. didn’t work out there for Perry, but you know, they went, that was phase one to help Adard. Now it’s phase two with them and they’re getting some better players and you could see it. Calgary already has the incumbent. They’ve got the goalender. They got him on term, right? Y so you got some players that you think are going to be good if you can add in now a star around him and then shape the you got back who’s going to be a great leader and we all love backs and you know that type of stuff but there is going to be some moving of the deck chairs around Conniey’s got some work to do he probably thought he was done after two years ago when he comes in takes the job I got Lindholm and Zidorov and Tanv and Hannif Hannifan I got all this okay well I got that taken care of and all right we’ll move on. It’s Yeah, I they’re not all UFAS. It’s the same but different, I guess. But but I you know what like now the cycle is it’s it’s turned downturned, right? So when is the somebody asked me this yesterday, I didn’t have the answer. When is the rank going to be available? Fall 27. Two years. So two years, right? They’ll open two seasons from now. Not next season. The following season they’re supposed to start there. That’s where I’d be really shooting for to be a good team is go new building, generating revenue, excitement, all of that type of stuff. Meaning exciting not ranked top two in the league with odds to win the cup, right? Like two an upand cominging team with brand new building. Like there’s nothing wrong with that. Like I just I look at it and you get this you all the excitement would be around the team. Hey, we got this great shiny toy and we got these we got this would you know like there can’t be anything worse I than if you still catch and co and like Anderson go like there would be I can’t even man like trying to sell a seat there like you’re going to ask more for the same beer and more for the same seat. You’d better have a marquee young player to sell tickets to if you’re not a contender. Lord knows you’re not going to be a contender. And you we’re so far into the like it’s it’s feels early but this years we’re we’re deep enough into it. This is what you are. Well, is it are we 11 games in? Yeah. Okay. It’s 11 games. Like I always say give 20. The problem is it’s been a painful 11. Yeah. Yeah. But you’re Yeah. You’re not even middle of the pack at 11. So even if you go if you rattled off nine more wins, what? Okay. So now you’re kind of okay. Those are the eight teams that are below 500 in the NHL. Who are you reeling in? Maybe San Jose. I I would say and you’ve got a steady diet of Colorado, Vegas, Dallas, Winnipeg. If we are Let me ask you guys this objectively. Keep that list up there. What of those teams is the Calgary? If we do the whiteboard and put the Flames roster on the left and you put any one of those teams on the right, what what team is the Flames better on paper than any of those teams we’re looking at on I just say San Jose. That’s it because they’re just young. They’ll be better in next year, but I don’t think they’re better than San Jose. I don’t know. They just can’t defend. That’s all. Like San Jose cannot keep the puck out of their net. So yeah, but but like you like you’d rather switch rosters in San Jose because you’re going to be good for the next decade. But that’s what I what I’m saying is like I always say do the whiteboard, do the math, you know, do the comparison, lay the rosters on top of each other. There are certain components I like about the Flames because I think that I like the goalie and I would take I would take the goalie over a lot of, you know, half of those teams. Half because I I like Shurken, I like Demco, I like Sorrowos. Um, you know, but outside of that, like I I but I I’m thinking like lay those rosters side by side, pretty much every team on that list that’s above them is either farther ahead or probably better than them. It’s got more talent. Yeah, you are where you belong. I think got your answer right there. I see it from like I we’re all unfortunately we all kind of see it the same way. So there’s not a whole lot of I I see from the other side when you talk about and we got to let you go. Gosh, you got a show to get ready for. Um gota bill extra for this one. You you could do what what they’re doing and you may or may not make the playoffs and that if once you strip it down, you know that you’re going to be losing a lot of hockey games. That’s you’re you’re accepting that. You’re buying in for that. And when you talk about I mean in Anaheim well okay it’s it’s been a long slog in Anaheim it’s been a long it was a long they had a great time but in Chicago it’s it’s been a long time there of watching some uninspired hockey. I I get why there would be some trepidation to say yeah we we may win the draft lottery and we may draft high and let’s hope the kid turns out but how far is that kid from being really helping us? Do is it celebrard looks like he’s helping Chicago right now. This is year three. Correct. Oh, listen. If you get McKenna then then sure. But not often does the last place team win the draft lottery. Yeah. The problem with I I understand what you’re saying, but the other side of it is there’s no argument. You are what you are. You’re in last place. You have two wins. What are you trying to sell me? There’s no other path. What are you trying to sell me? Well, we’re going to be good when. Why are we better next year with the same plan? No. Like, are they are they a threat to real off seven in a row? Sorry. I I the disappointing part is we could be talking about a a nice win last night. And that was that’s that’s the disappointing part. And in watching some of these games, you’re like, okay, they were close there, close there. Like, you know, been uninspired though, Noodles. like the games haven’t been fast and full of passion and it is what it is. But the there has not been aside from the gift in Edmonton flat in Vancouver. They had a period or two here some stretches of decent hockey. Have they been bad? No. But have they been really good and invested? Absolutely not. The teams that they’ve beat it was the Rangers. They looked like dog [ __ ] Were the Leafs good last night? Like I don’t think the Leafs were good last night. They don’t look like they’re firing on all and it’s it’s a it’s 82 games and everyone’s going to play them and there’s peaks and values for everyone. This team is flat. Yeah, this team is flat. Who is it that drags you? I would ask you this. Who’s the the player that drags this team into the war into the fight? Yeah, it’s a great question. You know, like it’s the goalie, but it’s hard to see that, right? He’s the guy that would have the literally have that and it’s the other guy is Nasm because you can see it. He wears it. When he’s mad, you see it. Some guys will kind of steam and boil under, you know, undercover. Not not Nas. Naz looks like he’s got a bit of a lip on though. Like that’s that’s what I think. I think he’s looking at going, “Who am I playing with?” All of that type of stuff, which I get it. Guy’s competitor a couple years ago wins a cup. Like, you know, he’s been in different environments now. Um, but I do respect him. He loves, you know, seems to love Calgary. seems to embrace, you know, what’s going on here. But, you know, it’s business now. Yes, it’s a transaction. Hubardo coming back, I think, helped Naz because there was a little creativity there. Veteran guy to play with. I think now that Naz is a veteran guy. Probably some of the younger guys probably frustrate him a little bit here or there with the lack of experience or, you know, and it’s probably like looking in the mirror because that’s what he was like in in Toronto. He was a young, you know, upand cominging kid and but that’s that’s where like is there a guy I know Ottawa’s found a formula without Brady Kachchuck but Brady Kachchuck is their is the guy that puts beer in teams like he’s their emotional and physical leader. I I look at the Flames. You’re right. It’s the goalie. Like it’s the goalie who’s their leader. He’s their best player. And if he’s average on a night it doesn’t look good. That’s the thing. He’s uh he’s that good. You guys have both been in because we’ll we’ll get you out of here, but just just a couple things. You guys have both been in team meetings that like today or before the next game against the Senators. Are they watching that tape together? I wonder if I’m coaching. I would say this if I’m going to show it at all because I don’t know if I It’s embarrassing. Yeah, because it’s And you don’t need to embarrass veteran guys, but if I was to show it, I would. This would be my message. See these plays? These are not Toronto Maple Leafs plays. These are our mistakes. We had I’m not criticizing. We played well enough to win that game. Let’s not make these mistakes. This is our undoing, not their doing. We’re good enough to beat the Leafs. We didn’t only because again, and the message isn’t a you suck. How could you do that? It’s a look at this. because there’s some learning to be done from it, but it’s hard not to make it look like you’re showing up your veteran guys, which is fair. And I think there also is these conversations that, you know, you get the assistant coach on the plane that walks over with an iPad, these clip two or three things and said, “Here, here’s your spacing here. You thought you had more time. They closed on you quick. You know, make your play decision. Make your decision quicker. Here you’re on your forehand. Why are you taking to your backhand again?” That type of stuff. I I I will say this, Rhett. You I don’t know how you were. I I was my own worst critic. I I knew the minute I allowed a goal or made a mistake what the mistake was. These guys will see it on the news. They they you know, it was on Sports Center. I just worked out and I was watching I watched the highlights, you know, they they pointed it out and Mackenzie Waguer with it on his stick and it’s off his stick and Max Doy scores, you know. So, he’s watched the replay. he’s already assessed it of what he could do better. Um, sometimes guys are self motivating, but you do need the coach to point things out and just go, “Hey, we we need a little bit better more determination in tough areas.” That’s that’s the way I would frame it and and we could leave it at that. But that that was not good enough last night from veteran players. Put it that way. You said it out of the gate like shooting yourself in the leg. It’s they’ve gone plaical burus. They’ve gone to the bar and shot themselves in their own leg. They did not get beat by the Leafs. They did it to themselves last night. Yeah, they did. They they went to Buffalo and they uh Yeah, went to Buffalo the night before. Good dog park defense. That was good, too. I like that. How have you never Your kids don’t want a dog. You’re a great dad. Your kids have never said, “Dad, we should get a dog.” They They ask me every day. My daughter askked for a dog every day. And I said, “You’ve got a little brother.” And I told them, I said, “When I retire, I’ll look at a dog.” But I Dogs have dirty faces. They always look dirty face. a bit of a germaphobe like rats. Similarities here. Dogs are like kids. They’re And you know what the problem in in my household is? Who’s going to walk the thing? You. Exactly. What’s happening in my house? I’m getting the same thing. Kids and Peg Bundy who sleeps on the couch eating. Jeez. Peg. Take it straight. What a deep pull. Holy. That’s a moldy reference there. Noodles. All right. Set though. My wife works it more than I do. So, put it that way. We just We don’t have time. And the dog, I’m too big of a neat freak. Can you imagine hair everywhere and just a slobbering dog? It’s just Yeah, I can’t do it. I’m sorry. And and animals don’t like me. That’s the thing. They don’t like my face. So, well, they’re the only ones. Humans love you. They’re the only ones. Get out of here. See you. All right. Have a good day. Sands and Sands and Flames tomorrow. Yeah. There you go. Can’t wait. Yeah, we didn’t talk. No, we can’t. We’ll talk to him tomorrow. Yeah, we’ll bring him back tomorrow. Talk him twice. Bring him back. We didn’t talk baseball yet. He’s a fake baseball guy. There you go. That is uh the insider hotline for crystal waters, plumbing and heating, anything that’s going on, your furnace, your air conditioner, whatever it is. Turn of the seasons. Something goes sideways. Oh, what is that? It’s your first and only call. It’s the only thing that should pop into your head. Crystal Waters Plumbing and Heating. Crystalclearc calgary.com. Uh because I did I know we went late there but I was thinking you probably want to you want to look at some of those mis you made glaring mistakes that cost you the hockey game but if you do it in front of the team I don’t think those are the guys you but you know because like you say it’s glassing out it’s okay there we if we ice it we’ll win the face off just those guys are so veteran they know you could show it but what are you showing guys have already know like you don’t think McKenzie is like man if I just got it on my backhand suit like no he’s like I got to get that out. But the shit’s happening on a near nightly basis. It is. And I think it’s if you don’t But if you don’t address it and you Well, he knows. No, it’s been addressed. Can you just But that’s what I’m say. If you were going to address last night, how do you go about doing it? You don’t. I told you. So that’s you don’t. That’s why I asked you don’t or you sell it as f you guys. We had a win. This is on us. Here’s how we lost. It’s not a crit. Like again, you have this presented in a non-critical. We lost to Vancouver in g game one of the year we went to the finals here. Yeah. And we’re like Jesus. We’re sitting around having uh soda pop after the game in Vancouver having a meal and it’s like you felt shitty cuz you lost. You’re like yeah but you beat yourself. Yeah. It took a penalty. We didn’t do that. They didn’t really beat us. We beat ourselves. That’s the message. We beat ourselves. And it is, it does look like a bunch of veterans that still want to believe that do want to pull this thing out of the gutter, but they’re making they’re trying to do too much. They’re trying group of guys, dude. All those highlights are guys trying to do too much. What do you What do you think? Yeah, it’s it’s trying to do too much, but it’s also there’s not enough intensity, but it’s trying to do too much. I think it’s both those things. Yeah, I think they’re flat. What? I agree. I I just if you had watched that game and come out of a coma from a month and said one of these teams had lost you know has one regulation win in 10 games. I don’t know which one it is. There was no desperation there. The reference is right and they have only had but the the problem is once 13 in a row we lost in Florida. Were we wound up for game 14? No. Your emot it’s I said it’s a balloon. It’s deflating. There’s too many puncture wounds right now. It’s easy to say we got to be you are kicked in the nads already. It’s let’s just try to be this is January 15th minus 40 game. Yeah. It’s tiring. This is the dog days. Whatever you want to call it. They are not emotionally high right now. And you can try and yell and kick and scream and where. So what about Ottawa on a Thursday? Yeah, that’s going to be another mukfest. After Ottawa got pumped by Chicago last night, which Noodles referenced, they’ve been rolling good Chicago lately. This is not an easy game. We’ll take a train and have a You guys need a They need a week off and they need a reset. They really need a different cast of characters. Yeah, though. It was something that popped up there that I wanted to bring up because probably a little too abstract for Noodles, but like when he asked about who’s dragging guys into the fight. Now, I’m not going to call him a leader and I’m not going to say that this guy is one of their best players, but they’re missing some of that piss and vinegar that Martin Posel brings. If he brings it, right, 100%. What he’s supposed to be? Yes. Totally. So, when Martin Posell is at his best, he turns random shifts into street fights. They miss that. And they also have too many bloody wingers. And you’re gonna have to like Coronado’s on the skating is an extra today. Prex skating is an extra today. Like that’s a guy that could help this team emotionally. I’m not saying that here swing here swings the season, but it’s like it just reminded me like they do have some guys like that, but Clapka was out last night. He’ll bring Coronado skating is the extra. Yeah, we’ll get to that right now. Wilie had skate this morning. So Perk’s an extra. He’s out. It looks like Coronado an extra now. Again, it’s day before the game. Goic at center. Yiggor on the second line. The coach is not under coaching this team. They’re pissing around with this. This is just This is the day after a loss lineup. This is a message to the players that you’re all idiots and and that they finally got, you know what they did? They had it delivered to the wrong place. The bingo machine. The bingo machine. It’s in Ottawa. I thought you meant the pizza like Jack. Add it to his old his old address. Well, we’re beating a dead horse here, but just look at the wingers. Oh, I I mean, look at look at that lineup on it. Looks like you happen to have three third lines and a fourth line. Yes, those are lines. Every rink you go into before the game, the other team will have the lines. And what what other team is looking at this lineup going? The name they’re circling isn’t on the screen. It’s Wolfe. If that guy’s not the first star, we win regardless. There’s nothing intimidating about this. And trying to beat a goalie is not uh is Yeah. He’s your their best player. But I’m just saying this lineup goes up on the wall in other teams ranks or dressing rooms. You’re not walking by it and it’s a split second. Who’s Okay, whatever. This is You’re not going Okay, I got to play. Who was that? The He was It started in Atlanta, the Russian Kovalechuk. Kovalevchuk, right? You’re actually You see that guy’s name on there, you’re going, “Okay, I got to remind myself how to play against Kovaltchuck.” There’s no Valerie Bal. There’s nothing on this lineup where you’re going, “Okay, what’s this?” Oh, yeah. This is a unique challenge. Yeah. It’s not It’s not physical. We’re not scrapping. We’re not getting banged overly hard. We’re not going at an incredible pace, Harry. and we’re not getting lit up on the scoreboard. If we can get two or three, we’re probably going to be in a good shape and we’re probably going to get two or three. So, make sure you get traffic to the net, take the goalie’s eyes away, and we’ll be fine. Work hard. So, anyway, other than that, our eager from the press box, the second line, I was kind of looking around there. Where’s the center? Is there somebody not? I still and I I don’t think there’s any Why aren’t you playing Perk? Look, he’s making mistakes just like he’s made the first 10 games, maybe it’s a breather or again, maybe this is the day before the game and we’ll get to the or do you want to play pahal at some point this season? And if that’s the only thing if that’s the only way is if he’s got to be on the right side then some way shooting right that’s his problem. Sharon go did spend some time at center his first season on the fourth line and it was no good. Yeah, he came in and they they were kind of banging him around everywhere trying to find he threw it back up. He played on all four lines that first year here, including all three positions, right, left, and center. Center, he played on the fourth line at the beginning. It was no good. They got him out of the fourth line, and he actually had that 30 goal. Here’s I would put Frost where Kirkland is and Coronado in with someone and just go four lines and say you guys figure it out. Yeah, you’re all third lines. You’re all third lines. What the hell am I trying to adjust lines to help? No, you figure it out. Yeah. And if we’re being, you know, a little kinder. Okay, sure. You have one line and you know what? And I might go three centerman. I might I might dress 7D to get perk and alarm. I don’t need Kirkland in Frost can go to center. I go Kadri Frost and Back Zary can move to the middle if you need Cornado. You’re in for Clapka or Lombberg. I don’t care. Sharon Govich, right? Like, okay, how would that work? Frost goes to Sharon Govich. Sharon Govich goes to Lombberg or Kapka and Coronado moves up. Lombberg, Clapka out, 7D, three center. What? Uh, like Pos’s not even back. Like I just they got too many bloody mediocre wingers. So many of them. Like put Posel below Clapka or switch sides with Coronado, whatever. It’s like what are we doing here? Well, I was going to say it’s back to that if you’re Huska, you slide the roster over and be what would you do? You get the Bengal machine. What can you do with this with this roster? Gave him the idea. But you know what I’m saying? Yeah, you can you can do a lot of things. I don’t know that it makes you any better. No, I mean you can put Shergovic at center and you can put Lombberg in the in the rafters and what I don’t know if they’re any better off against Ottawa tomorrow night. No. And and look, there’s just limited talent there. We talked about the coach being visibly frustrated in that opening nine games where they had one gifted win. Um it does like he is absolutely shaking shaking shaking shaking to see if he can find something. But like it’s not like there’s great pieces and they’re not clicking there what they are. That’s what it is. Yeah. And you can move guys all over the map. You’ve got, you know, six different guys here that have played center. Cool. Are any of them number one centers? No. Okay. Well, you’ve got, you know, 11, 12, 13 wingers, 14 when possible. Like, I guess not wingers, but you get my point. Put them wherever you want. Like it it does not matter. You’ve got one guy that can get on a second line on a contender in Cadrey. Maybe Hubido if you’re squinting. Beyond that, these are fourth, third, and fourth liners. A whole roster of them. Hey, congrats to Hansick on getting that goal last night. First NHL goal. You’d like a You probably wish you could feel good about it, right? It’s got to be a bit of a muted celebration after the game. Well, during it was muted. It was a big goal. Good job. I just, you know what I mean? After game. So, you get your first goal. Well, it would have been nice to get a win. It’s what you got to say to the media. It’s old Brennan Parker when he comes staggering in there. Big paging. pot this time. I don’t think he knows what pot is. What for? Boiling water. Dean. Tomorrow though, senators. I’d look out. Can’t wait. They’re better than the least. No, we’re fine cuz we don’t do a show Friday. So, we’ll be at the Belgian Beer Cafe watching highlights. Yeah. Look at these dummies. Investment med. Invested. Look now. Did you like go in? You went in and did the whole I’ve done it all, man. How did that start? Give us the the intel. Cuz I’m uh cuz you care. Bit of a worry wart, but also I’ve you guys always make fun of my quirkiness, my uh the things that I’m interested in. But I do believe that if you are in front of these things, you have a nice run ahead of you. So you get like one lap. sit around and stare at the window or out the window and don’t concern yourself. Like there are stages in your life where you’re going to change. So when you’re 40, guess what? You’re not 20. Mhm. And the body’s going to react differently. And you can see it through the course of history. And if you’d like to combat that or stay ahead of it, invest me. Yeah. There’s the I think that you can put your head in the sand. We can we or we can wait until something goes sideways. Yes. I’ve been having severe chest pain, so I went to the doctor. Well, good for you. That’s that would be the thing to do. Or you can try and be smart about it and get in in get in front of it. Invest-med.ca is the website. You get a 1-hour consultation with a physician. They kind of go through give us your history. You’re going to fill out some paperwork. So, I mean, obviously for me, I think you guys uh were aware my parents died. Your parents when I was young. Anyway, uh I thought they abandoned you. It was I was sure you were left on. That was one of the things. It’s like, okay, so there is some uh there’s some history here. Well, let’s get it kind of walk walk through that this sort of thing. And that 199 bucks, 1 hour consultation, and then you get you let the work begin. And I know that, not to get overly serious, but I mean, you’re you’re going to hit a number soon. I hit a number recently. And guys like Jack, they got nothing to worry about, but it does happen. You get to a point in your life where things just don’t work the way they used to. And it makes you think about those sorts of things. And it’s nice to know that there’s something like InvestMed that is there to either give you some reassurance or guidance. Yeah. Some guidance or to recognize some certain things and then try and combat that. Yeah. I got this little lump here. Yeah, probably just leave it. No, you don’t have to accept me. Did you hit yourself with a hammer? I don’t think so. Did I uh go to investment med? Figure it out. You one lap on earth. Be healthy for And it’s here in our city. So, we’re very lucky to have that kind of thing because a lot of people, they travel the globe to get this kind of stuff. Cutting edged. Don’t have to invest-med.ca. Tough to pivot from that into our Nashville trip, but um I do see that. The docs have already read me the riot act. So that’s good. Trying to Can we bring Temple on the plane? I feel like that might be a move. I don’t I know with alcoholic beverages over the borders a thing, but with like a the non-alcoholic spacer. I’m not sure. I don’t know. I’m not going to recommend that. Got to reel in with Jack immigration. So that would be a move, I think. Anything there, Jack? Anything on that? Do you got any uh do some research? Probably not. Eh, no, I have no idea. Temple, while we’re here, I mean, non-alcoholic beer. Well, Spacer that tastes like beer. Is there a ball game? Who would have thought there is a ball game? So, we’re going to have a ball game last night. Wake up feeling good. Yeah. Here’s the thing. It’s stressful. the high anxiety, high tension. This playoff baseball if you if doing this makes you like tip the can makes you feel better. There’s a lot of moments you’re going to be tipping the can. So maybe mix in a few temples along the way and you won’t be a train wreck the next day. Is that how that works? It’s an idea. You may need to tip the can. It’s like, oh my god, this Why is he boach for? Is he Is he stealing those? That really threw me off yesterday. Golden Logger will be an everyday favorite. It’s made. It’s Canadian made. It’s soon to it’s a spacer like like Ryan says or maybe you just uh you’re off alcohol altogether, but you do like to be sociable and have a drink and yeah, can in your hand enjoy it. Available online or at liquor stores in Calgary. You could Google and find out all the details. T M P L Temple is how you spell that. No E on the end. No, no uh no booze in it and no E in the end. It’s not a university, Dean. That’s right. Tasty, too. Nor chairlifted like Louis. There you go. Let’s do the pin report. Time of the pin report for Village Honda. Our good friends in the Northwest Auto Mall and online at village Honda.com. They’re your dealership for life and they’re blowing out the 2025 demos right now. Low kilometers, supply is limited, but big savings to be had. We’re talking the Pilot Touring Edition, the Accord Hybrid Touring Sedan, the Ridgeline Trail Sport, not to mention the CRV hybrid, Civic Sport, Civic Hybrid, all available. Great deals on the demos. Get them out of there. They got the 26es. They got to make room for uh your opportunity to get a great deal from Village Honda. We start with Flames Nation. A game in the center of the universe last night. The devil was in the details and the Flames lost to the Maple Leafs. And isn’t that true? There’s Ryan Pike saying what we said. A lot of self-inflicted wounds there. If you take care of the puck a little better, that’s a likely two points. Team Tanker’s not too worried about it. But if you’re in that room preaching 97 points, feels like a missed opportunity. What kind of no one’s at what point? Yeah. Do you say no one’s talking in that language anymore? Let’s uh take it one game at a time and uh we’re going to go out there. Give it our best best shot. Here’s the SCD. That was the opener of a four game roadie. Schneides. They uh they’re heading to Ottawa. Do you take a train to Ottawa? Do you fly? What do you I don’t remember. Well, it’s Canada on a Thursday. I’d be getting in late last night. Get it to Fairfax. Get the damn right. Wing Wednesday at Fairfax. Can’t be beat. Was that Gatau or Ottawa? What’s the That’s downtown and the river runs through. One of the cities. We’ll be there. It is a 1:30 start Calgary time. 2:30 in Nashville. We might even be at the game. It’s the Flames and the, you know, given we have tickets. Yeah, we have tickets to the game. Could even be there potentially depending uh what time we bail out Jack that morning from Halloween night. How does bail work in Nashville? I don’t know if you need a lawyer or just a stack of money. We’ll figure it out, Jack. Don’t worry. Never understood Bale Bondsman and how that works. Is that like a career? How do you get into that? Probably Google it, Jack. Story there. Uh, it is a backto-back that starts in Nashville and closes in Philly. Get your gritty on Sunday evening against the Flyers. You got a Garnet Haway, you got a Dan Var, you got a Morgan Frost and a Joel Fairby. A little bit of a rivalry game of sorts. All right, that’ll close the road trip. Then they come back for Columbus and Chicago at the dome. Elsewhere, Nasum Cadri is a massive topic of conversation. I don’t know if it’s rightfully so because we like talking about trades and I don’t think any conversations have happened between Nasum and the Flames at this point, but we know that it’s very likely those conversations will happen at some point this season if the Flames continue to struggle. Here are the insiders on TSN. We’re well underway already with Nazum Cadri and and the Calgary Flames. Lots of talk. Is there anything to it, Drake? No, not really. I mean, there is a lot of talk. There’s a lot of speculation driven by the media and the reality is it comes from a place where the Calgary Flames are playing well below expectation. And there are other Canadian markets, namely the Montreal Canadians, the Vancouver Conucks, maybe the Toronto Maple Leafs, that could absolutely envision a number two experience center like Nazim Cadri in their lineup. But the reality is that Nazim Cadri loves Calgary. And unless the Flames decide that their roster needs reconstruction, that could happen through the remainder of the regular season leading up to the trade deadline, then at least for the moment, it is premature. So, there’s tons of interest, don’t get me wrong, but the timing isn’t right yet. Reasonable uh measured, not hottakey at all, and probably 100% accurate. It’s going to have to get a little darker a little later before we’re into the awkward conversation phase. time change this weekend. Yeah. When does that maybe if we didn’t have the time change it would be would that work as far as darker back. It’s not going away. I guess would be it’s not. And it’s funny because we talked about Rasmus being the distraction. There’s no distractions. That’s the nice thing about this stuff. They’re not distraction. Tight room. No distractions. Come on now. Ryan, back to you. All right. Let’s keep moving. Um, all right. The bottom of the standings. Flames are not just in them, but they are them. They are the bottom. Uh, thank you, Steuart Skinner. That’s one of your wins. Rangers, you looked awful. That’s two. And then there’s eight regulation losses to go with an extra time set. We need more stew in our life. Yeah, it’s stew season already. Delicious. Damn it. I mean, they are very similar in the standings, but I can’t imagine the vibes being more different between where if you were a Sharks fan and a Flames fan. Like, god, that team’s fun. They score a ton. All these young stars. The vibes are not good in St. Louis that is probably a more similar Montgomery is there’s some puckering going on in St. Louis. Well, and they were great when he took over last year. Remember he came in in what like November for that Drew Banister or whatever. Dylan Holloway was a point per game guy since he arrived. Minnesota thought they’d be better. These are the key issues for the Flames. Like we’re talking about other things that we’ve we’ve gotten distracted. Focus on this. We can’t have St. Louis or San Jose falling apart. No. Right. We want Stanford. Can you imagine being if St. Louis came in and scooped up our pick? Can’t have it. Scooped up our pick. Scoop. Scoop. They scooped all four points there last year, right? Like we can’t allow like focus on the important things, please. Eyes on the prize, fella. Uh Wranglers had a good night. They blanked the defending Calder Cup champions in the American League from last season in Abbottzford. And it’s a first AHL career goal. Let’s have a look. See them. Now Kite steals in the attacking zone. Karen’s able to get it back. Wrangler’s taken in transition. Karens to FK in the Abbottzford zone. He’ll stop and set it up. Under a minute go on the power play. Bruce Stevich to the left wing. Strong working in back door feed shot and they score. What a setup. And on the business end is Sunni. He’s got his first sunnv first pro goal. Congrats. Did you want to whiteboard that D coverage? There was a few AHL plays there. probably reasons they’re not in the NHL. But congrats to God, kids love to just stare at the puck. It is just the most be a lot like phones and the forward winger on the top of your uh just out at the blue line here. Are you killing a You’re just Oh, you’re out there. Oh dear. You did not take the pass line away, did you? Hey, I I I tried to get my stick. Did you? Nope. You’re in. Oh yeah, stupid. Is that my guy who took the penalty? Is that my guy? God bless. I got to get in the penalty. I can’t get blamed as much. Zing, congrats on your first make it many more Sunni. He of course played at UMass last year. First prose go. Let’s keep moving. Uh it was a great night for Connor Bard as you heard from Noodles. Noodles had a great uh seat for an entertaining game last night and from arguably one of the best performances from Conor Bard in the NHL. Let’s watch. Oski switches with Carolina on this top unit. So he’s up there now with control across here. Zing Rick Ball. Good old friend Rick Ball. Love to see it. This is wobbling a bit. Don’t matter. Shelf. That’s where you put it. Bring the sound back. Only one spot you can shoot. There’s only one place to put it. Rates the buttard. [Applause] Who’s the D that gets posterized? Watch this tow drag. That’s not posterized when you just shoot it. Well, how about when the goal the defender stick, you just take him right though in fairness. Just walk around and this is a shot as well. You get another angle on this one. Can’t let you go till you buy a shot. Poe. The uh the noodler was talking about his commitment to being in great shape. He worked on his skating all summer. One of the things that popped up, he he did not have elite speed already. The number is showing the foot speed is better than last year. The shot was always there. I’ll tell you what, I’m not sure Lenus ever saw it. Zing, that’s three. Lenus, and it’s raining hats as you noted. That’s in the right spot. He was good. Uh, also good thing they didn’t trade him, I guess, right? I would have tra I don’t know what Colin Roy was thinking. Who else we have? We got next another highlight from last night. Oh, it’s a deal. Thomas Harley, the team Canada defenseman. How do you like 10.587 million a year max term? Eight years. Jim Nil gets business done. I like it, but I hate Dallas. That is big money for a very I like Dallas. This is what Thomas is saying. I’ll stay. Boom. You got to pay me 10. How much? 84.7 million. I guess so. Tax. Tax. No. All right, fine. Wow. A lot of money. You think that’s a lot of money? Well, he’s not the only guy that got paid in the last 24 hours. How about eight years for Logan Culie, right? You want to guess? Eight. 10 even. Boom. Sticker shock is real, fellas. The cap is skyrocketing. If you’re going to buy eight years, you might be leaving a guy in $150 million cap land at the end. 10 for [ __ ] who’s off to a great start for the Mammoot. Not to say he isn’t worth it, but a great deal. As you were kind of talking about with Sanderson’s kid, Logan Culie has played 168 NHL games and has signed a 10 million times eight deal per Yeah, exactly. 80 million. That’ll be all right. Third overall in 2022 was Logan Culie. Looks good. Thomas Harley 18th overall in 2019. So good players can be found in that mushy middle of the draft. As for tonight, just one game. That is it. I liked last night with all the games. That was good. We get a bubble rematch. Remember when Columbus had Corposal and uh where’s Lickens upside down? Unreal. 950 or something. I’m sure that’ll be vivid and front and center in the memories of the players taking part tonight. There’s Winsky and Matthews. Second half of a back-to-back for the Leafs and Columbus, of course, because all the teams played last night. This is your only game tonight. Once a month, they should do that frozen frenzy. They could also put it on TV in Canada. I think that’d be a really good idea. I think there’s some hockey fans in this country. Yeah. Or is that too my I don’t want to offend any. It’s weird because when they do it, you give them [ __ ] for doing it and say it doesn’t work and it only works in football and then when they don’t do it, you give them [ __ ] You don’t have to be as good as Red Zone. If you’re going to try it, at least put it in front of the eyeballs of fans. Not sure how many would have been watching last night given the circumstances. That’s fair. But again, that’s not other circumstances. Yeah, exactly. You’ve got a lot of dates in the calendar. You can do this. I believe they’ll be Maybe Gary knew. Gary knew. He knew the least. Blue Jays are going to be Gary could have actually looked at it. Well, I guess it’s got to be in October. Yeah. Anyway, it’s probably the Mets and the Dodgers, so we’ll just do this anyway. Nope. Uh, okay. Hey, let’s get to it. You mentioned the baseball game. There was a big swing last night. Superstar against Superstar. Otani was looking filthy early. Literally a big swing, eh? Mhm. Big swing. Uh, this sweeper was devastating for everyone else. Vlatty said, “I fouled off his fast ball. I knew I wasn’t getting another fast ball, so I sat on the sweeper and watched this thing fly.” This is on France. Good. Because we’re multicultural. Yeah, that’s He’s born in Montreal and we missed the Expos. So that’s just for all the Expos fans. Is that what it is? Still haven’t watched that. Feel like you just realized it’s No, I forgot to tease it as French. I like the French call. Vlad’s a stud, man. And Otani was great. That was Shler was worried about Vlatty’s gate. Had an awkward gate. Yeah, on the home run or else did he have a a hitch in his giddy up? Yes. Whatever he’s doing, he’s doing it right. He now leads the franchise in postseason home runs with seven. breaking, not breaking, stating facts about a game last night. That’s his seventh franchise record. I think it was Bautista and Carter had six. What was crazy about watching that? It looks like it’s such a quick and and like hard swing. Yes, it was on an 85 mph sweeper. Like it was still God, Dino used to do it back in the old uh Yeah, Brandon Men’s league. Yeah, I had a hitch in my giddy up. cost me the big league career. There is your Fox graphic. I don’t know why the bird is taking down a palm tree, but okay. We’ll have a game five tonight and the Jays continue to hit monster home runs. It was Vlatty last night. What is a dodger? A doer from Brooklyn. I don’t know. Like is that what were you dodging in Brooklyn? Dodging like the draft not the draft dodgers are in Nelson, not in Brooklyn. Interesting. They tended to have a kind of a bad rap. The old draft Dodgers and they sort of or they were ahead of their time. Maybe they didn’t like the government. Should have known back then. Where’s Springer on there? Is he on there? Springer was not in the lineup last night. An hour. Do you know? And he strained oblique MRI after game three. I doubt we’ll see him tonight for game five. Shoot that [ __ ] up. He’d be fine. He’s got some soreness. It allows Bo to D is a better spot. I don’t know if he’s got a tender if he’s Maybe he’s got a tickle. He is the backland oblique strain. They used to start playing. Uh they continue to hit clutch home runs. If it feels like there’s been a lot of them, well, yeah, it’s the most in major league history. Four go ahead home runs while trailing in the same postseason. Four for the Jays. Yankees had it three times last year. Astros in 22. I think they beat the Dodgers in that year. Pretty fun run for Blue Jays fans. Again, nobody thought they’d win the division, never mind get to the World Series. Most had them in third, fourth, or fifth in the at least. Fun run. Thank you, Jack. The Dodgers, Jack, from the early days in Brooklyn where they were called the Trolley Dodgers. They had to dodge the street cars that criss-crossed the city in the early 1900s. The name stuck and they just shortened it to the Dodgers. It’s like what we have to do in Martaloo. All the trolleys. Yeah. Front end. Yeah. The back busy down here. Yeah. Great job, Jack. There used to be trolley coming, buddy. My loop. That’s a great question. If you could do that that quickly, why does everything else That’s a great uh That’s a great question. You do a family question every night. Now, you used to collect uh CDs and cassettes. That’s right, Ryan. Now, Dean, you used to collect uh Yeah, I sure. Cuz Jack’s too young. I don’t ever seen a cassette. This was one of the memorabilia items from the Jay’s in the mid 90s when they went back to back. Let’s have a listen. Jack fear of the Ravens is growing. It is growing. It is growing. It is growing. I don’t think it you should be worried about the Ravens. You should just be recognizing. I am worried about my own team. Well, they’re going to be nine and eight. I don’t see the problem. See how he jumped in? He knew exactly where I stopped you right in your tracks. Yeah, we’ve got uh semifinal Saturday in the CFL this weekend. Early game, Winnipeg in the crossover out to face. He loves the French. Yeah, he does. We may we uh then the afternooner/eing game. Are you going to adjust the winning game plan? No. They think they got the stance figuring it out. And are they adjusting? Yeah, they are. Well, we went on a bit of a buy and then we won some games. So, we feel like we’re feeling good. We’re getting healthy. We’re feeling good. So, go ahead. Take us lightly, you Lions. You turkey Lions. Yeah. Finally got a Calgary FC is going to be in action as well. Playoffs. They will head out to Forge Stinking Hamilton. It’s okay, Ryan. Winner goes to the final, which will be hosted in Ottawa. Biggest win in CPL playoff history. Three-goal margin. Got a set of wheels for you. Looks good, sounds good, feels good, plays good. Let’s go. [Music] Oh yeah. Yes. Well done. Yes. I’ve seen him a lot these days places. Huh? The the Red Bull soapbox races on YouTube are wonderful. See then this is Well done. Well done. It’s a paper mm mâe. How do you get that going? That’s a lot of work. hours that kind of time or talent. Yeah, at least he’s wearing a helmet. Oh yeah. Safety first. Finally, I’ve got a new culinary treat for you, fellas. It is pickle dog. It is not a pukey one. It’s a yummy one. We start with a pickle. There’s a hot dog in the middle. It’s hollowed out. Let’s go. Here we go. We drop it in the batter. We roll it in panko. We deep fry it. And peanut butter for the sauce. Awesome. Stupidest question in the world. That looks amazing. I would have seven of these. That looks amazing. He’s Jack would quit at half cuz he’d be full. Yeah, I met one of Jack’s buddies on the weekend. He said Jack’s a real I don’t know. Is he a wuss? Real wussy. Is he a softy? Really? Which one did you meet? Don’t worry about it, Jack. We were [ __ ] talking you for like 20 minutes. We’re at the ring. Uh, not important. Jack battered. Jack, let it go. All right, fine. This is Champions. I and taking a lot of heat while building that roster. You did. There wasn’t a whole bunch of belief in the Silky Paws. Mand deep was there. Now, did you rest on your laurels going into last year? No, we were good last year. We lost to a great team from Vernon Stinking Aaron Shepard, the former Pentic Fort St. John Flyer. Yeah. Yeah, they were they were good. They were good. Fort Mloud or Fort St. John. It really is one of those things where it’s like winning the tournament and the trophy is great, but you just have to beat Oilers Nation and it’s a great tournament. That’s a prize. It’s like the season for the Flames. They beat the Oilers. Beat the Oilers three times, lose the rest. I’m okay with that. Gravy. Gravy on the pickle. Yeah. Oh, wow. Gravy. Yes. Mhm. Come join us. Don’t you worry about what I do for Flames Nation. You know what I do? I score a [ __ ] ton of goals. You know what? I get sore arms because we’ve been doing this all weekend. Scoring goals on your sory asses. Yeah. Okay. Um, we love Bet365. Of course we do. It’s the best. They’ve been our gaming partner for a long time now. They’re a tremendous partner. They are the very best. They have the best app. They have everything about Bet 365 is the very best. Whatever your bet is, it’s never ordinary at Bet 365. Never. Download the app, get in the game. I love it. Sundays when you’re live betting, you’re watching the games, you’re getting on top of it, you’re watching. It’s like, “Oh, so what’s your what’s your team? Who you got?” You know what I got? My team is Bet 365. That’s That’s who I got today. That’s what’s got my juices flowing. Red zone 365. You got playoff baseball. We have found I guess what I’m saying is we have found a way somehow to make it seem like it’s a very difficult exercise to go on bet 365 and enjoy winning. We are in a real slump, fellas. Are we? Last year, Jack had a great year. You’ve been I’m always good. Well, you’re very confident. You had the bounceback week last week. Yeah. Two weeks. Yeah. Two. Two week. Yeah. Cuz I just went and I picked every game. I was what, 500 or a game over. You’re eight and six. Showed itself to you. The clarity. So, you know what I did? I thought, “Okay, I’ve got my groove back.” You did. I I’m ready to settle back in and just be smart and be real real good at it. Uh, week eight, right? Is that what we were last week? already. It’s a lot of red. Oo, Dino. Rat’s above 500. I’m above 500. I’m proud of you, guys. Let’s go. Three games under is uh above 500 for the week. For the week. I see. More green than red. That’s all you want. Week to week. I don’t have a time machine. I can’t go back to week two and change my picks. Let’s go. How many games this week? Are there 30 games this week? Who’s on behind? And you guys aren’t allowed to pick the Bills cuz that’s my team. So, that should be obsolete. That was our when you go on 365. When you go on 365, you can pick any game you want. There’s no rules where Rhett can’t stop you from picking the Bills. I got scataboo in the Giants game. Yeah, me too. Nice pick with the Titans. I thought that coach in Miami was trying to get himself fired. What the hell are you doing me? I’m just Daniel. It’s So, it’s a low overunder and they’re getting two plus touchdowns. I’m just going to take the points. You know what it was? What was the favorites were 11 and two last week. Chalky week. 11 and two. That’s the most success that favorites have had in 40 years. Whoa. So, keep that in mind this week because I know what that’s I’m going to school. Great. All right. All right. But 11 and that’s See, we’re taking points. Didn’t work out. A lot of times that you’re sharp taking points. Everyone wants the favorites. Ah, you silly public. I was a little worried about my Ravens pick. I heard old laugh. Yeah, especially when old uh Snoop Pley. Don’t worry, Lamar. Lamar back this week. Packers, the Falcons was that was had that was tough for you guys to watch. Now, in the middle of all this doom and gloom, we have a three-way tie for first amongst the in the Idiot bowl here on Barurn. Three of us tied at three games under 500. Jack, Rhett, myself. Oh, no. No. It’s winning percentage. Jack, just uh calculate that in your brain. Dean, what do you 10 under? You’re right. You suck. I thought I was being I I was taking points. Give me the points and I felt good about it. Bears had won four in a row. I got scatabooed. And the Titans, it’s it’s a no-fly zone. We’re going there. I can’t I can’t I can’t touch it this We can take the Chargers if you want, but I can’t talk to you about the Chargers because every time you talk say, “Oh, this is what the Chargers are.” Then then it goes the wrong way. Uh, Jack. Mhm. Steelers. No bueno. No bueno. Aaron Rogers back to Green Bay. Didn’t happen. Bills look good, though. Same with the Chiefs. I might ride those wagons for a while. And the freaking Ner. I thought that was a lock for them to win that game. CJ Strad played pretty well. I watched a bit of it. Houston’s tough to figure out. They are a good defense. What a great rookie year. Make the playoffs last year and then it’s just like what? You’re not good at anything. See, it’s like and and how are you not good at anything? And this week it’s like how do how bet 365? How do you know? What do you know? Those Texans, okay, they’re a little bit better. Yeah. At home to the Denver Broncos. Broncos have been kind of a slobber knocker here. They’re coming from behind. They’re putting up points. RJ Harvey had a week last week. Yeah, the rook. The Texans are one and a half point favorites at home against the Broncos. So, you’re thinking, I’m going to be sharp. I’m going to take the Bronco and take that defense. Strad has been okay with that defense. The Indianapolis Colts have been a wagon. Yes. in Pittsburgh to play the Steelers who look a little Oh, Jack. Jackie B. How are the nerves? How are the nerves? I’m not going to watch a single second. What? I’ll be at the game with you guys. Oh, jeez. You’ll be on your phones. It’s 2025 here. Colts are three-point favorites on the road in Pittsburgh. I might take them, too. Right. They’ve been great. But what do they what do they Can Pittsburgh stop the run, Jack? That’s what I They can’t stop anything. Perfect. It’s all Colts. Yeah. Jonathan Taylor’s having an MVP caliber season. If you want big a big number, you want to find those points that like how hasn’t been working for me. The Carolina Panthers are in Green Bay Packers 13point home favorites. A lot of points, Dino. Feels like too many, doesn’t it? Feels like a lot. Feels like a lot. The Saints with shook at quarterback or whatever it is. Rams. They got Schumer. They’re in LA to play the Rams. The Rams 14 point home favorites. That Rams D was a hot pickup in fantasy this week cuz it’s a rookie quarterback I believe making his first NFL start. I should do that. Are they gone? They’re gone. You do waiverss yesterday. Cincinnati’s D cost me last week. Minus four. Tyler Shaw Jets. Shog Shaw. Shaw. Look at that. Swami Samson way off. Okay. But I have a uh I guess we’ll have to do it tomorrow because there we don’t know what we’re doing for a show on Friday because we have a plane to catch. Let’s get up early and come in. Start want to come come in early and Yeah. Let’s get it going. That’d be fine. Yeah, I’d be fine doing that. Got to leave the house anyway. Got to be up. Yeah. Can sleep on the plane. Yep. Sleep when we’re dead. Uh so I but I have my strategy figured out for picks. Opposite George, have you got to resort? I did. I did something. It kind of worked. I was over 500. Went back to Oh, you’re doing the full slate again, aren’t you? Can’t talk about it. Oh my god. In due time, Ryan, tomorrow, Ryan, in due time or on Friday morning, however we feel about it. Yeah. Okay. So, those are our picks. Again, I feel Do you have the line for the Thursday nighter? Sorry. Because you went through a bunch of I feel badly about it because if for bet 365, they must be thinking you guys are making this look like it’s rocket scre. It should be a coin toss. You can. Yeah. If you just pick the right side. There’s two sides. Yeah. How do you keep ending on the the wrong Why you keep flipping tails and calling heads? Life choices. De the Ravens with Lamar, we believe. Yeah. In Miami to play the Dolphins. The Ravens on the road. Seven and a half point favorites. That all day. Yep. Yep. Buy a couple weeks ago. Ravens healthier and they got their MOP candidate. I’d bet it right now if I see Dino. So are you so you’re not buying into anything that’s happening in N Miami? Nope. Utah. Well, again, they looked they looked like they were going to be against relegated two weeks ago. Yeah, Atlanta’s the most unserious team in the I agree. Atlanta’s a bunch of frauds. Phonies. They beat your Bills rep, but they were frauds that day, too. They were frauds that day. You just gave to Bejon a thousand times. Yeah, the bills aren’t going to stop. Frauds and phonies. I got I don’t have time for either of those. No. You’re a straight shooter, do you know? That’s what I am. Not in your uh line of work. Did you ever get shown up in like a video the next day, Suts or one of your coaches? Yeah, I threw my Gatorade bottle at the garbage as a sign of go your hands. Yeah. Next clip. Let’s move on. Wow. What are we doing here? Not a boy. Oh, message sent. Message received. Yeah. Made a bit of a scowl at each other. Yeah. Or as as Noodle said, you had a lip going. Like Nasam’s got a bit of a lip going. A lip is more downhearted. I was more Yeah. I didn’t watch the this game with full intensity given we had Jay’s and all that, but like I thought Nasm had some jump early like that. He’s a darter. He’s a darter. Yeah. He’s not a burner. Okay. He’s a darter. No, Nasm was good. I He was You can tell when he’s invested, and I still think that he is. Oh, yeah. But also, reality is setting in. As you said, for all these guys, when it sets in, regardless of what the calendar is, it sucks. It is worse when it is October. Just like when we said this team wouldn’t be good last year and the standings said they were, we just kind of had to say, “Look, maybe we’re wrong on this group.” The opposite’s happening now. They think they’re good, but every time they look at the standings, they’re reminded they’re in last place. So, we were we were wrong, but at the same time, looking back now, we were right. We were just ahead of our time together. We said they weren’t going to be good. Time heals all. We just You just said just be patient. Ahead of our time. We’ll be right eventually. Yeah. And now here we are. Geniuses. Feels good to be right. I can’t believe the show’s free. All this wisdom we spew every day. It’s unbelievable. Wow. Time for the super chat. You, as you watch, you comment, you put money into the YouTube chat. We take the money, get it to the you centers of Calgary, and then at this point of the show, we show your comments and we react to them. It’s like we’re having a uh relationship by way of the uh it’s a back and forth. That’s an extra marital careful. What was that? I don’t know. Jack, go to the cleaning ladies. The working man on so much working man. Rat, did you get your kid that dog yet? I I have not when you promises hourly. It’s a thing, eh? Hourly. Yeah. Maybe the biggest takeaway from the teachers. I’m talking the bastards back in school. Yeah, that’s right. just stops the moaning about the dog for six hours. How close have you gotten? Uh I would there’s two species or two uh well the dog would be the breed breeds. That’s the word. Thank you guys. The dog lovers. Back to you. Big breed. Two breeds that I would consider. So I’ve got it narrowed down to that. Well, that’s You’re almost there. Wow. Pull the trigger. You’re talking to breeders. No, he has two breeds. Oh, he’s not. Okay, so that’s real act. That’s good. You got kids or boys? How close are you to the nearest dog park defense? This what they run my kids as a dog. This is a shoveler and I run a dog park defense. Yeah, it’s a dog park defense. I mean, puppies are active. It’s It’s gonna be fun. All right. Next. Yeah. All right. Next. R&B is $6.99. This is how just how it’s going to be, right? So, um, Boomer, who turned the puck over for the Leaf’s fourth goal. Top Dman, don’t make those mistakes. Uh, minus 10 this year. Trade Weaguer, Mission McKenna, go Jays. Look, I’m saying he’s not playing well. Has been great. I still think he’s their best defenseman. That is my point. Not that he’s not making mistakes. Dena’s not coming out saying, “Look how good he’s playing.” This guy should be on the Olympic team. It’s not what I’m telling you. I’m just I’m taking him over every other defenseman they have. That’s fine. It’s dragging a waiver claim around with him every shift. I feel for the guy. It’s seven bucks every time. I’ll take seven bucks for the kids. Mission McKenna. Go Jay’s. You dropped one in there. The mission McKenna. Yeah. In the noodles conversation. Listen, stay there. Don’t feel bad about wanting good things. It’s the thing like there’s no guilt around this. Do you want superstars? Everyone wants superstars. You have to be in a certain spot to get them. Southern Albertans and Canad Calgarians are deserving of a first overall pick. Thank you very much, Gary. It’s true. New building coming, Gary. Like, that’s the typical Canadian approach. Oh, we apologize. I’m so sorry. No, we want a star and we’re not sorry. Good. What are you laughing at, Jack? Handsome Dan. Oh, three gold 30 vacation rentals $30. He’s doing 10 bucks a goal all the year. The boys look like they’re having more fun. Scoring goals is fun. Rhett, can you tell us about the most fun goalie you scored? Oh, we know this one. We’re heading to the scene of the crime this week. No. What? That was easy. Top shelf on Brisgall, please. That was fun. Coming out of the penalty box. New Year’s Eve, Dino. New Year’s Eve. Big party planned after we’re going to steer baby. Where’s this? Meals lined up. Things are just looking tight. Effing ref gives me hooking this guy. Huh? I don’t hook. I don’t hold. It’s not a cheater. You’re a liar. You son of a You’re not a fraud or a phony. No. God damn it. I’m honest player. You are lady. Anyway, boys do a hell of a job killing off that penalty for the rest. just kicking out left pad stacks left and it’s real good. And the boys are also smart enough to realize the retro is about to step out of the box. It’s New Year’s Eve. The crowd is going freaking wild. Wild. I don’t care who you are. Arthur Serb, you ain’t stopping this. Forehead back in the back of the net. Bam. Baby first rounds on retro. And then we had a uh king of the hill on the snow pile outside steer. It was really nice. Wow. I was so [ __ ] scared that I was going to have to do a penalty shot cuz someone was on my back. I’m like I have to score. When I went down and I wasn’t sure if it was in, I’m like, do I fake an injury now or do I How long did it take before you knew it was in? No way. I was It was the cheer. The cheer of the crowd got you. I don’t know what go limping off the ice. Artist taking off his players helmet. You knew something. It went right. Had a good lid. Game winner. Dino. Wow. Never a doubt. Brett’s not ruining party nights. Just won a 24. Yeah. And the fans would have felt the same way. You know how we feel. Oh, this it’s in. It’s in. Inevitability. Where did this guy go? Yeah. They’re getting up from their seats. Wonder if I could find that on YouTube. That’s Jan 3rd. That’s not going in. But it is party night and that’s retro. This is going in. Yeah. Screw this. We’re not messing this up. Everyone needs their own incentive and their own carrot. Yeah. To really dig in and get it done. And for you, it was the steer stakes and booze and the boys. Yeah. It was I I scored on a breakaway and was king of the hill. You won both. Jeez. Wow. Game winner and king of the hill. Some big hills. Could be. What a way to fellas. You’re looking at a winner here. It’s awesome. I love it. Thank you, Handsome Dan. Thank you. Handsome Dan R&B Pinder. Why a couple years away from trading Wager? If this is a rebuild, it should be moving assets, not just guys in the back nine. Trade him with Nas and Raz. He’s got a full no move R&B. So, if you go try to trade him, the NHL central registry is going to say, “Actually, sir, this player has a no move clause. You are not allowed to trade him without his permission.” And then they’d have to fire Conroy for being in Yeah. Find him draft picks like your senators did. Yeah. Pure Dorian. You could ask though, RB. You could definitely run it by the agent. Don’t go right to the player run by. I’m not saying don’t do it. I’m not saying it can’t happen. What I’m saying is you got a front burner issue with Rasmus. I would deal with that first. I don’t think that’s unreason. Not at all. Thank you R&B. Thanks R&B. What do you think it stands for? So good that blues. It’s so good that tree gave a little ribs and beers these stupid notes. As requested more stew. You said y good looking hat stew season. That’ be like Stew. Stew name is spelled the wrong way. Yeah. S T U S ZN. Like Stew season. Hashtag. Yeah. Yeah. Be a good great license plate. Good. Stew season. Yeah. Yeah. Maybe get a summer car and a winter car. Just keep that one on the winter car. Yeah. Mhm. Two bucks. Hey, Stew. All right. A lot of stew. All about stew. All right. Yeah. Well, that’s a show, I guess. Jack, great show. It was Wow, he’s ready. You’re just excited to be going tonight. I’m so excited. Just excited to go. What do you want us to say at your celebration of life? Let’s get this out of the way and on the record because we’re going to go a lot. Yeah. Just tell the people had a good time. How do you want to be remembered? Because we can frame this up wherever you like it. But I went out the right way. Okay. Well, you don’t know that. There’s there’s different ways of just because you’re in a fun city. We could go really. We’ll tell them you went out the right way. Yeah, we can. That’s the pact we can make here. We’re full of [ __ ] We’re a bunch of frauds and phonies. See you, buddies.

  1. Flames are on track for a 38 point season and Steinberg and company are on 960 telling us we don't know what the Flames are yet. Thanks! What else do we need to see?!!

  2. Noodles is right about Kadri. Flames need to retain to get full value out of a Kadri trade. Further complicated by the fact that the legitimate contenders have a number 2 center and would be looking at Kadri as a number 3 center. Unfortunately, a number 3 center needs to be good in the face off dot and Kadri struggles on face offs.

  3. I'm looking forward to you guys talking about the Oilers each day in the playoffs on their way to the cup. The playoffs last season was awesome. Pretty sure McDavid will lift the cup this time. Management has an ultimatum from McDavid this year.

  4. Looking at the standings, here's another thing. St. Louis is only 2 points ahead. They robbed the Flames of playoffs last year, don't pass them this year and let them rob you of Mckenna (or whoever) this year.
