We're going to be having real discussions soon about how we're going to pay/keep all of our defensive difference-makers…

And there's also Puka's contract…

I love this squad and wish we could keep everyone, but I know that's not the reality.

  1. I think Verse will be a market resetting contract. If that’s what BY wants…thanks for the rookie contract and 3rd round comp pick.

Can’t pay everyone and I think BY is the odd man out. Old rookie, huge season only in a contract year. Verse commands a lot of attention which is think he benefits from. I’d let him walk if he’s going to be asking for a large contract

  2. BY better set his sights on the Nik Bonitto contract because Josiah Stewart’s looking like a fine replacement.

  3. Before the year, I’d have said we would let BY walk and just get the comp pick. But I think he’s played himself into a big contract with us. The problem is we have so many guys on the line who are going to command huge deals. Though if they feel Josiah is a hit, I could see them not re signing BY. And hope that Josiah and other guys can be impactful (for a fraction of the cost) due to the gravity of verse

We just have so many young guys who need paid. Kobie, Puka, BY. Next year I believe verse, fiske. Somebody will be left out.

  4. I can’t wait till all these young lions players have to get paid and they have to break up the team with our draft picks so we can stop hearing “WhO WoN tHe TraDe?”
We did. We got a super bowl and had only one down year.

  5. This is the one benefit of having a QB that’s about to retire, we don’t have to tie a significant portion of our cap over the next 4+ years into them. Pay our playmakers, draft a rookie QB and let the defense and offensive skill players elevate them.
