Legends. But still never a good look to get caught flexing with Caminiti.
Baseball MVP Ken Caminiti was definitively linked to steroids, as he publicly admitted to his use of performance-enhancing drugs. His confession in a 2002 Sports Illustrated article made him the first prominent player to admit to using steroids and sent shockwaves through the sport.
This was the era I became a padres fan. I remember my dad taking me to Jack Murphy and hearing Hell’s Bells has more a forever impression on me.

How were these two not swimming in willing women?
Hoffman was also taking steroids?
Those were the DAYS!! π₯²πβ€οΈ
I can still see Caminiti at third, ready for the play, in those late 90’s uni’s with the pinstripes like I’m sitting in the stands. Sure doesn’t feel like almost thirty years ago.

I had no idea Hoffy was this jacked!

We knew Cami was jacked but Hoff-Damn bro!

I was a roving vendor during these days (sold lemonade, soda, popcorn, etc. from a big basket). Iβd sometimes get to the stadium very early, and go in through the employee tunnel. Cammy had a sick Harley with a baseball-themed scene airbrushed on the side of the gas tank, and heβd ride it to the stadium and park it in the tunnel. Such a badass. And Hoffman would jog around the outfield to warm up, usually without a shirt on. Dude was so ripped. Looked like he had a six pack in his back muscles. Hoff was probably the most in-shape athlete Iβve ever seen.
