Ramsey is allowing a perfect passer rating in man coverage. Only JPJ has respectable stats in man.

  1. Why would a QB throw in Porter’s direction when he knows there is easy picking elsewhere?

  2. Perhaps getting sloppy seconds to button up the defensive backfield was a poorly thought out plan. Can’t wait to draft Artie Burns Jr. in the 2nd round of the 2026 draft lol.

  3. Not a surprise. Generally guys on the other side of 30 don’t get faster, stronger and more agile which are needed attributes to play man coverage. Both Slay and Ramsey are over 30.

The scheme is dumb for the personnel they have. Everyone knows it except for the HC

  4. Ramsey is definitely recovering from something. Can’t remember which game it was but he was lights out until that hamstring.

  5. Don’t let these stats fool you. Joey Porter is not a starting DB in the NFL. He’s slow, is not willing to tackle, and hasn’t found a way to play physical without getting penalized. There are way better options. Time to move on and stop investing in a past players son.

  6. Joey is a great Cornor , casual fans who don’t understand the sport always are bashing his flags. Of course he takes bad penalties sometimes but a lot of the time he gets called for being lanky and to much hand battling

  7. He made literally two plays in the opener and everyone fell all over themselves screaming “BEST SIGNING EVER.”

  8. Time is a flat circle.

Also our 2026 draft better look something like this: CB, WR, LT, CB, S, CB, TE, LB, DE (Assuming picks are something like 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5, 6 after Pickens trade and comp picks).

  9. Ramsey in his peak years was a very good man corner but even back then where he truly dominated was playing zone. He’s still a damn good zone corner and we shouldn’t be asking a 31 year old big ass corner like him to be chasing #1 WRs all over the field. At this stage he’s really just a very smart, big physical DB.

  10. Ramsey and Slay is our newest Joe Haden and P2 experience. What else did we expect tbh.

Top 5 at their position in their prime but we were too chickensht or cheap to go and get them when they could have been most useful. So now we gather them off the scrap heap and hope that either position change or some other wishful thinking will allow their talents to take over in the face of their inevitable decline. It’ll make for some moments of quality, but over the course of a season it exposes more weakness than strength.

Add the constant of an awful, predictable, vanilla defensive scheme all helmed by a guy who got fired after coordinating the allowance of what like 4 straight 500 yard games or whatever and an unparalleled man manager but woefully antiquated head coach and voila, we’re saying “Jalen Ramsey? Perfect passer rating in man? HOW??” We know how because we’ve seen all of this before.

Can’t wait till we sign Surtain or Sauce or whoever in 3-4 years. Wash rinse repeat. 9-8, 10-7, WC flogging on national TV. The Standard is The Standard…which is just standard.

Fire Tomlin and his whole staff.

  11. I’ve always despised how inconsistent the man to man coverage schemes have been over the past five or so years. Sometimes they lockdown highly targeted receivers and sometimes they just flat out miss their assignments. Still have nightmares of Tom Brady picking apart the zone defense like it was nothing.

  12. This sun misses the biggest issue with this team. Poor drafting decisions. We are constantly filling key positions with other teams throw always. Why aren’t we drafting safeties, corners, and qb replacements when we know we have age and performance issues manifesting on the roster? It’s inexcusable to still be patching the QB position, and dealing with piss poor DB play year after year. JPJ was our only move in the past three drafts and he’s kind of mid but we treat him like Sauce Gardner because everyone around him is even worse somehow. How long are we going to blindly believe that Kahn is doing a great job? Is he?

  13. There was a post yesterday asking should we extend JPJ and there’s a bunch of jabroni yinzers saying JPJ isn’t good (even some in this thread). People really do have no clue what they’re talking about sometimes…

  14. They need to just put Ramsey in the slot where he can be a menace, our defense has been missing that since Mike Hilton left. Slay just can’t run with dudes anymore, give Echols a shot on the outside

  15. It’s weird isn’t it? It’s almost like a team isn’t going to give up a high-quality cornerback for a safety. And in addition throw in a tight end who does have some skill.

It’s almost as if the story that  was told here that no one believed was true – that teammates were mad that Fitzpatrick was very obviously quitting last year, was true and had something to do with such a lopsided trade. And I say that even knowing how overrated he was. It was still a lopsided trade.

I’ve said it 1 million times. The most down voted comments  and posts in this subs history are usually the most accurate.
