The poster should be for a new GM, or well our first ever GM. Or better yet it should have Duke and Zac on it, but man Duke is the biggest problem. The majority of his success team builds, have been built around a top draft pick. Palmer and Ocho. Dalton and Green. Burrow and Chase. He’s failed to keep it going after those players need paid. When it gets difficult is when he fails. He can’t draft when we pick in the late teens to late 20s.
I don’t think Zac is the main problem. That is the front office, or really the lack of a front office and quantity of scouts.
With that said, we are getting what we pay for with Zac. $4.5M is nothing for a head coach these days. The top NFL head coach makes $20M. Zac’s salary is just below the median salary and he is producing median results with the back to back 9-8 seasons.
Just for a data point Zac’s $4.5M salary would be tied for 52nd in college football.
