Lot of PP haters lately saying he should not start and that he has been dissappointing, and while its evident he is not looking as good as he did when last season ended it’s just not as simple.

6th man of the year last season with great streaks coming off the bench, this year with the new roster Joe has to start him, however this is not the role he is used to playing and has been putting everything to adapt as quick as possible to the new role.

21 pts + 10 rebounds against the Pistons and 10 points + 10 assists tonight, his numbers are going to improve with each game and he really has a chance to average a double double by the end of the season and cement himself as part of the best PGs in the league, while also being highly skilled for his height.

Anyways, its just the 2nd week of regular season, give the guy a break while he adapts and can really put starting role numbers and stats each game.

  1. Because he’s the point guard Boston deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we’ll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he’s not our hero. He’s a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A Fast PP.

  2. He’s adapting and playing better. Even though I still think he should be the 6th man there is no way to not credit him with helping us get these wins in a big way.

  3. He is a career 40% shooter from 3. People crying over a 20% start to the season are idiots who don’t understand anything about variance. He will catch fire. Is too good of a shooter not to.

  4. For what it’s worth D White is also shooting horribly. But aside from shooting both him and PP do everything else well. It’s the Tatum effect shots are a lot more contested than they were before.

  5. Both him and DWhite is not playing off Tatum anymore, it is only expected that their shots go down. Not this down, yes, but they will adjust. The more important thing is that, what we should expect from Pritchard is playmaking, opening the court for others more than his heaters. And he is just doing that by driving to the rim to score more, sharing the ball more, even taking more middies to keep the defense honest. That is a win in my book. Our starting five of Pritchard, DWhite, JB, Minott and Queta are mostly doing what can be expected from them rn after a rusty start. Give some time to fix some issues they still have and accept that they won’t be the starting five next season and they don’t need to fix it all. DWhite, for example, clearly struggles to run the offense and lean into hard shots (some of the reason why his shot went down) whenever PP and JB sit together, it is ok. He won’t be the sole playmaker and ballhandler for bench players without a Jay on the court or won’t be the second option next year.

  6. Nobody works harder than him. I’ve seen him play live a few times. Showed up really early one night he’s out there warming up all on his own. He’s just shooting and shooting over and over again without stopping the whole time. I really watched him and you could tell he was so focused. Then after bring out there by himself for 30 minutes other players start to come out and kinda dink around, chatting with each other and kinda lobbing up random shots here and there. But PP just kept shooting and kept focused. It was really impressive honestly. I have a lot of respect for him and his work ethic.

  7. I’ve always viewed him as a starting PG…. If FVV can carve a starting job in this league, why can’t PP do the same
