JERRY EXPOSED: #DallasCowboys Fish Report LIVE – Inside Jones’ $100 Billion Blunder

Years and years and years ago, I asked Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones about how he balances how he balances the responsibilities of being the guy who runs the Dallas Cowboys football franchise with also being the guy who clearly has a knack for and places an emphasis on not only marketing the team but also on his involve involvement in oil and gas, real estate, entertainment industry, hospitality industry, and on and on and on and on. And Jerry’s answer, “Mr. Mac,” he drawled at me. I couldn’t look at myself in the mirror in the morning as a sportsman, if I wasn’t as succeeding as a businessman. And I about closed up my notepad. That’s a good quote. satisfied with the answer and then he keeps going. But couldn’t look myself in the mirror as a businessman if I wasn’t as succeeding as a sportsman. And I wrote the heck out of it in my newspaper article. And he’s said similar things. It’s been a while, but he said similar things to me over the years. That that was his view. It’s a balancing act. I could do it all. Very clever response really. Jerry’s both. Jerry’s all Jerry’s everything. I’m Mike Fischer. Breakfast at fish and this is the fishbowl. That is the star. We’ll be inside the star today at practice with Shottenheimimer and then in the locker room as well. Uh looking forward to visiting with Dak Prescott today and going to try to catch up with George Pickkins today. Clever response from Jerry, but the numbers demonstrate that the all and the everything and the both is too much. And the numbers I’m talking about aren’t 100 billion. By now, you may be aware of this. If you’re not, you will be. And if you give me 10 minutes, I’ll give you the Cowboys world on this subject. Jerry recently told the Wall Street Journal about uh an investment in Comtock Resources. It’s an energy company involved in natural gas and oil. He pitched uh $1 billion into this publicly traded company. And the plan is to find some of the quote uh hottest and deepest wells in the US. Here’s the fireball quote. Here’s the bothersome quote. Here’s the quote that threatens to expose Jerry Jones as somebody who’s decided to look in the mirror and just see what he wants to see. quote, “There’s a hundred billion present value with gas out there.” Talking about Commtock real estate. That’s why I’m talking to you on the telephone. He’s talking about the newspaper. That’s why I’m doing an interview with you about the hundred billion rather than trying to fix the Dallas Cowboys defense. Yes, he said that. Uh, I’ve cautioned you in this Facebook age where Facebook is ruined itself, be careful with these crazy quotes. If it doesn’t make any sense, it’s probably not true. That doesn’t make any sense that Jerry said it, but he said it and he kind of means it. Jerry will very soon address this incendiary remark and after knowing him for 36 years, I can promise you he will either a dismiss it as an attempt at humor, which it may have been, or b forcefully declare that he’s fully capable at age 83 of focusing on both, which his football team’s 30-year championship drought record says he is not. I can drill down, pun intended, it’s an oil and gas joke, kind of like glory hole. I can drill down, and we do very specifically on the poorest 2025 Dallas defense and this team’s 34-1 record and the help it needs. Hey, let’s trade that guy. Let’s look at that guy. What about Rex Ryan? We we spend a lot of time on that. I’m a football guy. It’s a football show. I’m not an oil and gas guy, but I and Cowboys Media, which is going to be on fire with this today, and the fan base, you 76,000 fish heads in Cowboy Nation, will be mistaken in thinking that this is singularly about how fixing the Cowboys isn’t his priority. because it’s bigger than that. The fact is for Jerry when he was 53 or now that he just turned 83, there simply isn’t enough time. Scott K, have we made any trades yet? You have come to the right place. If you if the Cowboys have, and I think Scott’s being sarcastic. I if the Cowboys do something, if a one of my famous sayings, if a blade of grass moves at Cowboys headquarters, we will be on it. I promise you at cowboyscountry.com, fishportscowboys.substack.com, and here there isn’t enough time to do all these jobs. I wrote long time ago that Jerry sleeps four hours a night. Now again, that that was decades ago. Maybe maybe he sleeps a little more now, but he’s got a full day and he spends it doing stuff, lots of stuff, like a hundred billion dollars worth of stuff over there. I’ve also detailed often here that Jerry is an untraditional general manager in that he lets his top lieutenants Stephen, Will Mcclelay, Brian Shottnimer roll their sleeves up in day-to-day decision-m. Jerry goes on the radio and pretends that he’s involved in the Jack Sandborn decision. He’s not. He barely knows who Jack Sandborn is. That’s the truth about Jerry system. But how’s that working for you, Jerry? This quote basically, I don’t have time to fix the Cowboys defense. That’s why I’m on the phone with you talking about what really matters to me, hundred billion dollar oil and gas deal. That quote creates the impression that Jerry, who I don’t have much defense for him today, but it creates the impression that Jerry, who remains extremely passionate about his Cowboys, that’s true, views the team as if it’s a favorite hobby, a hobby for which he harbors an almost religious fervor. And that counts for something. Kenneth Easley Fish. Jerry Jones is the Vince McMahon of the NFL. The NFL and everyone else here in my opinion because of Jerry regardless of bad publicity. But with #53 brands, Jerry needs to delegate. Now, we’ll get into the titles in a minute. Doing it the way Jerry does it now, Kenneth puts him in the way. He’s in the way. This gets in the way. It counts as something that this is a passionate hobby for him ext with religious fervor is how I’m saying it. That counts. Not all owners can match that. But in announcing, joke or not, that his oil and gas business isn’t leaving him time to fix the Cowboys, there’s no NFL general managers who can match that either. No other NFL general manager gets to do that. What are you doing today, Chief’s general manager? What are you doing today, Buccaneers general manager? What are you doing today, Eagles general manager? You’re working on your oil and gas deal. This isn’t about titles on the door. I don’t care who has GM painted on their door. And all y’all should learn that’s not what this is about. It’s not about titles. Do you really think that if Jones retained his power, which he will until he dies, as once as Steven once told me, till they put a tag on his toe, which is what they do down at the funeral home or whatever, do you really think as long as Jerry retains his power while naming Mlelay or Troy Aman or Billich the GM that anything would change? This is about being able to keep up with the other NFL organizations led by people who don’t have a series of part-time jobs. And it’s about Jerry being able to look himself in the mirror and know that his football people have quote emptied the bucket, another one of his pet phrases, trying to fix the Cowboys. Jerry is emptying his bucket by filling his wallet with income from other jobs. Years ago, sitting right here with you, I coined the phrase, “Sometimes Jerry Jones’s Cowboys seem like a marketing team that plays football on the side.” A marketing company that plays football on the side. That thing resonates. That quote now is everywhere. Very proud of it. Sometimes Jerry’s Cowboys seem like a marketing company that plays football on the side. Jerry’s comeback to my assertion there usually goes something like this. Uh, Mr. Mike or Mr. Shawn or Mr. Arger, you wouldn’t believe the size of check I’d write if it’ give the Cowboys a Super Bowl. The size of the check. The size of the check. Jerry Jones’s critics, you, are now armed with more evidence that Jerry’s focus isn’t on writing big checks for the football team based on this quote exposed. It’s on cashing big checks for his hot and deep oil wells. Fish out.

  1. Jerry delegates those decisions to Will and Steven anyway, so he doesn't necessarily have to be worried about the defense (after all you say he doesn't know who the players are anyway) Media folks should just be happy he gives you guys click bait material to misconstrue in your favor for talk topics.

  2. When Jerry says you wouldn't believe the size of check id write someone needs to ask him yeah but how much effort are you willing to put in? The Cowboys dont need another million dollars they need people to start rolling up their sleeves. But Jerry belittles football by pretending someone can multitask and give this team the attention it deserves

  3. So the Cowboys owner can’t have other business interests because his team hasn’t won a Super Bowl in 30 years? Well…I guess the same standard should be applied to the owners of the: 49ers, Panthers, Jaguars, Commanders, Bears, Dolphins, Jets, Bengals, Chargers, Bills, Falcons, Vikings, Titans, Lions, Browns, Cardinals & Texans. Those are the 17 teams who haven’t won in Super Bowl for a longer span or not at all. But Jerry is the GM and no other Cowboys people in the building are exploring what trades can or should be made?

  4. If Jerry has not fired Eberflus, Mazi, Mingo, Diggs, Elam and Steel, he is absolutely the one responsible for the Cowboys ddemisse as the worst team in the NFL for the last two years. Who was responsible for the Trey Lance fiasco? There you go! Jerry is the comon denominador in this gigantic failure.

  5. Jerry actually and accidentally told the truth for once. Plus, if he would write a big check for a SB why does he always go cheap in hiring a head coach, or actually paying a GM? When your franchise is just another money making business, this is the sad result.

  6. This isn't news. This is gossip girl talk. All this talk goes out the window with a trade at the deadline. We're tired of hearing doom and gloom . Jery didn't get rich by being stupid. His personal only means something to casual fans.

  7. Jerry Stephen Will all trash Dei hire Cowboys fans should put bags on there head The media let jerry play over fans Dak should request a trade follow diggs parsons and lawerance get gone the fans and the media should push that

  8. I read on PFT yesterday and felt annoyed. Hard to tell if he was trolling the reporter or us fans. But Florio said it best, JJ can afford to hire a real GM, he is too egotistical to do it.

  9. Its curse and belssing that JJ runs the boys. On one hand he does it better than the entire league, in terms of marketing, making his players stars, and pampering the team in general. On the other hand he is the absoulte worst in ' running a football team' and making winning job number 1. Marketing first, football second and thats pathetic from a fans perspective. How does one break away from being a fan when you have had enough of the bullllshhhh from your teams front office. Thats the million dollar beard scratcher.

And yet even with these dumb ass comments from Jones, the staduim will be packed Sunday, and thats even sadder .

  10. I can only dream of a day where the stands will be at only 40% capacity, and the tv ratings will be dead last for the days games on national tv, then maybe THEN something may change in Dallas. However Americans are IDIOTS and will continue to drink the puch that the Jones circus distributes, and will get drunk off the hype and media attention and believe they have a chance to be winners.

  11. So what is different with the cowboys that will give fans confidence that this will work, so far nothing same old same old, blond faith in a team who entertains and puts on a good show sometimes, but cannot produce the winning
    Kirk out

  12. So whos going to press him with the so called "incendiary comment " the Dallas Media is soft. He wouldn't get away with his nonsense in Philly or New York, they would roast him RELENTLESSLY.

  13. its time for us fans to srop supporting this franchise. Sto0 attending games stop buying merchandise but i know it will not happen because uts just so many darn Cowboy fans. We at least need to try

  14. i been a dallas fan since 1985 jerry jones does not give to fcks about winning a superbowl he won 3 he already won at the highest in the nfl this is a hobby for him he doesnt care about the fans like at all he doesnt fcking care n niether does steven jones if he cared he would fight with his dad to do better like howy roseman even the fcking giants owner makes moves n washington jerry jones is the only owner in the nfl that doesnt let ppl help or build a team he builds the team he says whats goes he picks the coaches this is all jerry jones n the only way we can fight jerry is we stop going to the games stop buying cowboys merch n stop watching thats what we have to do GO ON STRIKE

  15. I just don't believe his lack of attention on the Cowboys is the reason for 30 years of losing. The reason for losing is his hyper attention on "Jerry".

  16. 49yoa. Been a Cowboys fan all my life. They could lose every game left in my life and I wouldnt be going anywhere. I have, however, boycotted buying any merch until we return to division championships. I remember the doomsday defense (I was very little), I remember Tony Dorsett electrifying the crowd with sideline runs. I remember wondering if Danny White was actually playing for the opponents. I remember Herschel Walker running the length of the field with a guy on his back for a touchdown. I remember Jerry buying the team and firing Tom Landry (the Man in the Hat). I remember Jimmy Johnson (big deal because he is from the same little part of the world that Im from), stepping in and taking a losing team and making them back to back Superbowl Champions in a very short lived tenure. I remember the Cowboys fall from grace with drug and gun charges for coaches and players (disgraceful). I watched a team that should have dominated more than a decade of Superbowls fall apart at the seams. The biggest problem that I have noticed over the years, is that players produce long enough to get paid, then they stop producing. I understand that its a profession, but there can be no team with a me mentality. Maybe its time to start putting a performance clause in these record contracts. There is too much talent on this team for the record they have. In business, I have learned to lower my costs and increase my profits for a sustainable bottom line. The last thing you do is repeatedly invest in losing investments. If you keep paying guys that dont really want to play the game, but rather only have an interest in getting paid, that is a losing investment. These guys are not the types of players that we should invest in. Rather, invest in the guys that actually want to win the game. Bottom line, if you play football in the NFL, your ultimate goal should be to win Superbowls. You will make more on endorsements than you could possibly imagine. Not to mention you have a chance to be enshrined in Canton, as one of the greatest. If you are not interested in winning the Superbowl, you have no business playing in the NFL (in my opinion).
