Uh what’s the challenge and the key to getting off to a good start tonight? Yeah, two division games back to back. It’s important we get uh I mean we had a great start last game, too. It’s kind of important to do the same thing, but this time hold it and continue it for 60 minutes. So, it’s uh good team. They’re coming off, I think, back toback losses here. So, they’ll be they’ll be going. We just got to make sure we match it. In last game, your team got a lot of good chances on the power play. Just couldn’t convert. But, what are some of those tweaks and improvements needed on the main advantage? Just finish really. Um, I mean, when you have nine scoring chances in in a game on a power play, it’s pretty good. Usually, you’re going to get one, if not if not three, to be honest with you when you have that many. So, we just got to bear down, find a way to finish, get one of these rebounds. Maybe maybe an ugly one to kick us off, get us going a little bit. So, I’m confident both groups have been going good. So, we’ll get them going. It looks like Ramanov is back tonight after missing five games with an injury. What does he bring to the lineup? Yeah, he brings a ton. He’s, you know, he’s a great player. He’s a great defender. Skates, he can move the puck out of the zone. He does, uh, everything you want in a defenseman. So when you get a guy like that back in the lineup, it’s huge. And what do you see tonight in the Hurricanes? Of course, a team that’s been struggling on the power play, how can he take advantage? Yeah, I mean, they got enough talent to, you know, kind of maybe in the same boat as us. I’m sure they’re getting chances as well. They got ton of talent on both units, so you got to respect it still and just try to try to keep them keep them struggling for one more heading to power play at least. And for you, of course, your former team, what are, you know, the memories you have in this building and what is it like for you being a visitor? Yeah, it’s a great building. Um, obviously I played here and I left and came back again and left. But, uh, it’s a it’s a great city, great building, great fans. So, it’s nice to see some of the familiar faces and people. Always a good rank to play in. Pretty good. Ready to go. Just no issues. Just uh working your way back tonight. What’s the biggest challenge of missing five games and then just getting back into action? Uh, yeah, just play the same way I played my last game. I against Oilers just uh just want to start filling the game uh with my first shift. Yeah. Do you still have any um soreness? Nope. No, I’m good. Good to go. And what challenges does this Hurricanes team present for you guys? I mean, it’s always challenge for us. Uh uh it’s always tough tough team to play, but uh I mean we got to show our best hockey and uh and win the game. What’s the key to getting a good start tonight to you know get on, you know, back to back on a on a good start? Of course, it’s important to win back-to-back games because and it’s a lot of games like that uh during the season. Uh yeah, but uh we we can’t lose a lose the points because of back-to-back games and it it should be it should we we we don’t need to m it’s not matter for us like it’s if it’s back to back or just regular games. Got to win. What’s the key to getting a good start tonight? Uh yeah, I mean we know how they play in this building. We’re very familiar with them uh over the last couple years. So um know they’re going to come early. We’re just uh got to be ready for it and put on our own push. They have a very distinct style of play, you know, high shot volume. What’s the key to combating their offense? Um I think just taking away their time and space. Um they kind of get buzzing around the around the zone and and throwing pucks at the net. So, uh if we can just control those rebounds and make sure we’re ready to uh support each other on the breakout and um find a way to to be on offense. What do you take from the last game against Boston and what are those tweaks and improvements your team could make heading into tonight? Yeah, it was a good start. I think there was some stuff that uh as the game went on, um we had to find a way to to kind of get the momentum back in our favor. Um weren’t able to do that, but uh like I said, it’s a tough building to play in and these guys are uh ready for us to come in here and and it’s going to be a good battle. And getting Romanov back tonight, what does that do for for the lineup? That’s big. I mean, he he competes hard. uh he eats big minutes for us. So, uh I think a guy that defends that well and and finds a way to get up the ice and and contribute offensively, it’s a it’s a big addition to our lineup. Well, he was he was late that uh he was late this morning here, so that’s the culture of our team and we made the decision to not play him tonight. Um and Barzi is not he’s he doesn’t feel good about it, but he respect the decision. He understands it. He was really good about it. Uh like I said to him, it happened to me when I was in Colorado different ways, but you know, didn’t had a good miss a practice, missed two games. So, I mean, that’s the culture of our team and we believe in it and um but he’s good about it. He’s very good about it. Is this a oneame thing and clean slate starting tomorrow or? Yeah. Play in Washington. Absolutely. No one here is mad at Barzi. Yeah. you know, it’s just the culture that that that we put in place and we’re a team. We we we stick together and and in those compassion is a very important thing and we got to we have a decision to make and we we made that decision today. I just who comes in for him. We’re going to make some roster move this afternoon, but you’ll know more tonight. Okay. All right. Um, also we noticed Marshall Lauren came off before the morning. We’ll make some roster move this afternoon and you’ll know everything. Okay. By game time for sure. I got you. Romanov is coming back in, I’m assuming. Yes, he’s playing tonight. What are you looking for out of him in his return after missing fight? Play the same way he played against Edmonton. He was so good. He was physical. Um, he was defending well. He was moving the puck well. Exactly what we’re looking for. Can I just go back to this? When you say late, late for the team boss, late for a meeting. It was late this morning to the rink. Okay. Um, just what for us it’s not a no, it’s not a big deal here in a way that hey, it happens. We know that, but that’s the culture that we have and we put in place and we make decisions. Is that policy new this year? Has it existed for since you’ve been here? go back to what how things were in the past, but I know how things are today. And I think everybody knows now. I mean, it’s fair to say that’s how you coach, right? That that those are your standards for what you want. No, it’s not my standard is the organization standard, right? Okay. Um, with with Romanov, right, I know Rachel just asked what you’re looking for, but what does he bring back to the group? You know, Marshall played well in his couple of games. Adam was in there for a game, but you get a level of physicality with Romy and a level also of some, you know, puck moving. You’re doing a good job answering the question. I love it. Well, you want to switch flats. Yeah. Yeah, I should. I’m just going to keep my paycheck if you don’t mind. It’s the smartest thing you’ve said. After you. Yeah. Um, so Oh, sorry. Yeah. No, but so what was the question? Uh, can you in your words like what what does Roman’s physicality and style of play? But but on a serious note, it’s it’s important. I mean, he’s he’s an important player on our team. I mean, he’s I think he’s um he’s hard to play against when he’s physical and and and when he’s playing around the net physical with that physicality in front of our net. So, I mean, it’s it’s nice to have him back. There’s no doubt about it. You also talked about before that those hits that he has can bring some energy to the team. How does his style of game really complement D’Angelo’s? They played so well last year together and and when Tony talks to him and and they talk to each other, the communication I feel like they’re playing their best hockey. I mean um they one is a very good puck car carrier and gets exit very well and the other one is defending very well and but but let’s say this Rom is also good moving the puck up when he’s doing that one two three step moving that puck I I think he’s he’s a very good defenseman in this league. Um, if if I could just ask one, the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup was 93. You lift the cup with the Canadians. That was the last time a Canadian baseball team won in 93 with the Blue Jays. just as a Canadian, what what would it mean to see, you know, a title going back to that country if if the Blue Jays I’m not a a huge baseball fan, but I would say this um both teams that are there, you could appreciate them. I mean, after game three, everybody thought the Dodgers were going to win the World Series. So, it’s funny how things shift fast in this game. I mean, they play so well in game four and five, now they’re going in Toronto. And I know there’s a lot of excitement in Toronto about about that that that possibility to see them I mean winning the World Series over there. I’m sure the people are pretty excited about it. So it’s it’s good for it’s good for the game of baseball. It’s good for the sports and it’s nice to see fans excited about the game and and and that’s exactly what we have with hockey. The fans are excited about our game and and that’s what you
