I live in Cleveland but Go Birds! This has crept into the CLE rumor mill in today. Thoughts?

As someone who lives in Cleveland, I say hell no! Great player… seems like a cancer and not a leader. And if the Birds shell out $40+M/year for a player, personally I feel like they should also be a leader.

  1. he turns 30 in 2 months. hes the best defensive player in the league. but 3 first round picks, even if they are late first round picks, is a lot to give up. also, eagles dont have to worry about his signing bonus, but hes still got huge AAVs, and they have a bunch of guys who they will have to pay in the next 2 years.

if there were no salary cap in the NFL, sure, yea, but kind of cant think like that or build a team like that.

  2. Source: Trust me, dog.

    Absolutely not…

And there’s zero chance Howie would even entertain this.

  3. Between this shit and the AJ Brown shit, I cannot wait for the trade deadline to pass and put all these asinine conversations to bed.

  4. Eagles can’t afford to pick up Garrett’s contract and pay Jalen Carter. Not to mention a few years down the road, pay Quinyon Mitchell and Cooper DeJean. I also can’t remember how long Jalen Hurts’ contract is, so they might have to redo that as well.

  5. I feel no one looks at the cap or the money that will be involved when they talk about these trades. Trading for him before he signed the contract was going to be difficult, it’s not happening now. Same thing with trading AJ Brown, the money we would lose would be massive.

  6. Unless the goal is win now at the total expense of the future a la Saints in last years of Brees I wouldn’t take that – and I really hope its not. Howie with 3 first round picks over 3 years for players on rookie deals plus the FA/extensions we can get with the 40m we are not paying Garrett will make for a better team.

  7. This is such nonsense. Theres no way and Myles is amazing but you can’t give that plus his contract is huge. I’ll come back here and admit I’m a clown if this happens. Go Birds!

  8. If that happens then I will buy front row tickets to the next eagles game at the linc and I will run onto the field butt ass naked with a “howie is the goat” painted on my booty cheeks.

  9. Two firsts and a three and I’d say sure. We’d have to make sacrifices (going to have to make some even without the trade) but this season and next we would still have our core together.

  10. Our last 3 first round picks have been Jihad Campbell, Quinyon Mitchell and Nolan Smith/Jalen Carter.

Would you trade that for Garret?

  11. Not worth it. Our Defense isn’t horrible. They just play so many minutes due to our offense not being able to consistently move the chains. Our D is definitely a bend but don’t break D. We give up alot of yards but we are pretty damn good at preventing TDs. Kickers eat well tho.

  12. If you’re the browns, the eagles are the perfect team to pretend is going to give you three 1sts because in addition to setting the asking price it also makes teams want to trade out of fear of the eagles getting ANOTHER weapon.

  13. I mean. Are three first round picks for a Superbowl a good trade? … I’d say so.

Completely ignoring all the contractual reasons this might not be possible/advisable of course.

  14. You have Myles Jalen Carter and smith on that line, you can have the two adoree Jacksons in coverage it wouldn’t matter lol

  15. Would we trade our last 3 first round picks for Garret: J Campbell, Q Mitchell and J Carter? Hell no. We draft too well in round 1 to give up 3 1st rounders for anyone.

Now if I were the Jets? Hell yes.

  16. Um, he just signed a huge contract. Unless Howie has a plan around this massive contract and he does not give up 3 first rounders, Miles can be great in Cleveland.

  17. I believe this as much as I believe the New England media saying AJ Brown is going to them.

    It’s a non-zero chance, but I’d still say almost 0.
