Waste of salary
Why?? Guy is a bust.
Why? He has shown nothing and is already old.
I know they’re deep end of bench guys but Walsh and Baylor have been just absolute nothings
Seems notable that he looks like he’s forced his way out of Joe’s doghouse with his defensive effort to start the season so far.
congrats Baylor! we need your passing & rebounding!
and not your shot selection, lol !!
In Brad we trust
Third year option are almost never turned down, 2.74 million is barely more than the league min. That said he’s shown flashes.
Jake LaRavia having 28 pts last night didnt hurt. Memphis didnt pick up Jake’s option because he hadn’t shown anything and then it started to click and memphis couldnt retain him…
at $2.75 million, it’s better to retain the option in case Baylor finds his groove, or if you watched LaRavia in the Lakers game last night, maybe youd come to that conclusion at least
Ngl I hope for Scheierman’s and Walsh’s sake seeing Minott come in and presumably take their minutes, motivates them to try and attempt to get back into the rotation I know if it were me it’d light a fire under my ass.
Why
There’s no reason not to pick up the option. He’s cheap and we can aggregate salaries now that we are below the 2nd apron.
His defense and rebounding have looked decent, even if he’s not the offensive prospect we were hoping for. I think he has 2 paths to being an NBA player, the first is shooting. If he can start making his shot he’ll have a place on our roster considering he can rebound and defend well enough. The other is play-making. He’s shown flashes of being a play-maker, if he can be a back-up point guard, then it’s probably ok for him to struggle shooting.
Right now, he’s just not good enough at either to be in the rotation outside of giving him reps to develop new skills.
He likely just is who he is, but we can afford that contract next year.
Idk why so many people hate on the kid so much. I know he hasn’t shown that much as of yet, but I feel like ive seen enough small flashes here and there to sirll have hope he ends up becoming a solid role player. I mean are we really trying to write him off after his rookie season? 🤦♂️
Meh hasn’t really impressed me at all but not a big cost so we’ll see if he can turn it on
It’s crazy how he was such a great shooter in college and now can’t buy a bucket. He does everything else really well, but gotta start knocking down 3s.
