Jordan Greenway Expected To Play Against Boston | Buffalo Sabres Coach Lindy Ruff Pregame Media
Lindy, you’ll need a roster spot. And I didn’t see Noah Oslin out there. You’re going to have to send him down to put Greenway on the roster. Yeah, we have to make a move with the roster. So, he’ll he’ll go down here. What when when you talk to a player like him, which you told us you liked him and the way he’s played, what do you tell him to work on now that now he’s gone down and got another good taste of the NHL? You know, I think uh probably the one thing he’d he’d like to make sure he finishes the opportunities. Um, you know, I think for number one, playing well defensively was good. um a lot more comfortable than probably last year when he stepped in. So I I think the progression for a player like that is good. Um the ability to get on the score sheet uh is probably his next step. Lindy, when you look at the faceoff situation, how much of that is just you need more mentality from your guys as opposed to just technique? Uh I think it plays a big part. I think uh sometimes the face off is more than about one guy, too. Um, you know, it’s that secondary, those 50/50s that you can get to. Uh, you know, I think I look at the other night, uh, we made a step in the right direction. Like even, uh, Kulie was he was winning winning a lot of draws on on the tough side of the ice for him, winning him to his forehand. Um, you know, I was putting him out there late to take those draws. Uh, I I think it is it’s a it’s a more than one and it’s a mentality to make sure we share the responsibility. I’m not making excuses for him, but we all know what happened on the overtime goal, but a young kid like that who just missed a breakaway, is his mind still down at that breakaway? Maybe. Possibly, for sure. um you know it uh again a breakdown that you know ended up ended up hurting us but it was the it was in the right place to give us the opportunity to win. Um and usually when you get a great chance like even in in Toronto when powers alone going in but mishandles now you get a big opportunity going the other way that’s three and three playoff I mean so uh three and three overtime hockey. Where are you with Owen? Owen. Yeah, maybe he didn’t have a great game overall last game, but overall his overall game, have you seen a lot of improvement this year? Yeah, I have. Um, you know, I think there’s going to be tough games by different individuals, but I’ve seen it vastly improved play. Um, so, you know, continue. Uh, last game I thought a little bit of a little bit of a rough game for him. Put that behind you, move on to the next one. Are there big differences you’ve noticed home versus road with this team? I know you haven’t won on the road, but seems like the numbers say you haven’t played too poorly away from home. Yeah, we got to score more. We got to get our offense going. If we’re going to win road games, we got to get our offense going. And I thought uh the the focus yesterday, the focus this morning is is talking about generating more and and playing more in the offensive zone on the road. In the last Boston game, it kind of pretty simple. if you had a good first period, you probably would had a pretty good chance to win a hockey game, which was a onegoal game down the stretch, even though you didn’t play well. Yeah, I mean, that first period looked a lot like the Columbus first period. Um, you know, and I think we’ve uh we’re going to spend a lot of time on where our first period is at and going to continue to because we in probably the 10 games have been I might stretch it when I say two games where I like the first period. Um, that’s a tough place to put your team in. Um, so we definitely definitely have to be a better team. You’re going with line? No, not disclosing. How How are you going to deal with that situation having three of them in? We’re really going to go uh Mike uh game by game for me. I’ve never had three or had to deal with three. We’re going to take this uh game by game and I think the solution will come out. It’ll come out of it. Uh on how that goes. I was asked this this morning and you’re the coach. I think you’re better qualified to answer it. Um thanks. Yeah. At least you’re qualified. Yeah. Yeah. That’s that’s what I like. Anyway, thank god I’m qualified for this question. What if I didn’t qualify? Well, I was asked if if you’re going to do like anything you can to get a goal Lucan and go in. My answer was he’s going to do pick the goalie that’s going to give him the best chance to win a hockey game. Is that really what it boils down to? I I I think uh right now that it’s probably the best answer I can give. We’re going to go a game at a time and you worry about winning the game you’re playing and who’s going to give us that best chance right now. Um you know, UPL’s coming off injury. Um we we know that uh the first game back was wasn’t what we had hoped for, but it is the first game back coming off injury. Um eventually you’re going to see what the second game looks like. Um I’m not going to say that uh he’s probably in a position to to be pretty damn good for us. Um but right now we’re going to worry about one game at a time.
Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff spoke with the media ahead of the team’s game against the Boston Bruins on October 30, 2025. He confirmed Jordan Greenway would likely play that night, and Noah Ostlund would be loaned to Rochester as the corresponding move.

Go Sabres!
Why? The PK is number 1 in the league without him and we have 2 short handed goals, with Greenway all you have is wasted roster spot and last place PK

OP has the highest xgf% of all our d-men. Dahlin is worst.
Audio good today for a change
Paul asking about a young kid and “we all know what happened in OT”. I thought he was gonna ask about power sucking and failing to tie up his guy… for the second time in the game
