He’s going to say, “Come on, we have a game to win against the New York Giants with an opportunity to move to six and three.” We’ll talk about that game. We’ll talk about Kusher McAffrey, but you can’t say that to CMC. The guy loves football. All right, we’re about to get the official show started. We’re up to nearly 100 likes as people have gotten that notification. They’re starting to pile in. I can’t wait to talk some Niners here today because there’s so much to get into. Continue to hit that thumbs up icon. Segment number one, Niners injury news and will the Niners go big game hunting? some big trade news for San Francisco, which we’re going to get into right now. Hey there, welcome into the show. You’re watching the San Francisco 49ers Report. My name is Chase Senior. Hope all of you out there are having a fantastic October 30th. Coming up here on the show, Niners injury news on Brock Pury and Ricky Piolaw and also trade buzz continues to hover around this organization even though they made that trade the other day earlier in the week for Keon White. But the NerS are expected to go after another defensive end and will San Francisco go big hunting? Let’s begin here on the injury front. What is going on with Brock Pury, this team’s QB1, and Ricky Pearl, who had emerged as the Niners’s number one wide receiver? What he did in the first three plus games of the year, highly impressive, but it’s been a while since we’ve seen both of these players. In fact, Brock Pery reinjured his turf toe, week four against Jacksonville, Ricky Pearel injured and already banged up knee in that defeat as well. And so, Perie hurt week one, back in week four. We haven’t seen him since the Niners could have put him on injured reserve. They elected to not do that. That could have opened up a roster spot. Kind of roster mismanagement in my opinion here for the Niners. They could have done the same thing with Ricky Pieraw. He injured his knee against Jacksonville after he had an original knee injury that hobbled him going into that game. And he’s dealing with a PCL injury whereas Pertie dealing with a turftoe injury. Neither player placed on IR. Neither player expected to play on Sunday against the Giants, but we could be seeing them soon and that is obviously good news for the Niners. As for what Pertie’s been able to do this year, I just recorded a Niners Giants preview with our Giants host Marshall Green. We’re going to play that segment number two for our live show here on this Thursday. And he was like, “Man, I didn’t realize that M. Jones has been playing so much this year.” Yeah, M. Jones has played a lot for the Niners because Perie has only played two games. He’s completed sub 66% of his passes, 586 yards. Obviously, some good, some bad. The turnovers continue to be a problem. This is an issue that dates back to last year. Four touchdowns, four picks, and an average yards per completion of 12.2. I expect to see better from Pertie, and I think we will because when he’s playing well, he’s a top 10 capable quarterback in the National Football League. And for Ricky Pieraw, the talent isn’t the issue. The ability isn’t the problem. For him, it’s staying healthy. Now, the positive here, he was a durable player in college at Arizona State and at Florida. With the Niners, though, pre-gunshot wound, I’m not docking him for that, but he had dealt with a hamstring injury and a shoulder injury. The gunshot wound happens. He comes back obviously later in the year last year, but then this summer he dealt with hamstring problems and then he injured his knee. So, if he can stay healthy, the NerS know they’ve got a pretty legitimate wide receiver here who is an explosive player who can make plays downfield, is a really good route runner, and can beat both man and zone coverages. 20 catches in four games and he didn’t play those four uh full four games because he went out early against Jacksonville. 327 yards and an average yards per catch of 16.4. Now John Lynch was on the radio this morning and he said this first about we’ll see Mack has done such a great job continues to do so. Brock continues to progress. A lot of it is going to be on trusting Brock how he feels. He’s getting better, ramping up. What he’s doing on the field by the end of the week will make that decision. So, I imagine the ners, we’re going to get more clarity on this Brock party injury front tomorrow on Friday. I just don’t expect him to play. And Shanahan said yesterday on Wednesday, it’s a complicated injury. It’s more complicated than what you guys think. And that’s because the turf toe injury has a very high risk of reagravation. And when you’re a quarterback, when you’re an athlete, you try to plant that foot, you try to make a cut, that toe could get reinjured and give out on you at any moment. As for what Lynch said about Ricky Pearaw, what I can tell you is that those PCL injuries can be very stubborn. They can linger a little. Ricky’s doing his best to get back. He’s making steady progress. Receiver is a position you better be at full speed. There’s been some positive progress, but he’s not there yet. And the biggest thing with the PCL, it really stabilizes the knee. When it’s hurt, your knee has a tendency to bend backwards. And obviously, when you’re a wide out, you need that knee to be sturdy. Now, the expectation is that Perie does not play on Sunday against the New York Giants. There is a belief that he could return against the Rams and that Ricky Pearaw could return against the Rams in what is going to be a big divisional game for the Niners. They played all those divisional games very early in the year. They went 3 and 0. Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams, but this game as the division continues to remain tight in the NFC West going to be a big one in week 10. And with Perie and Piol not playing this Sunday, 100 pm Eastern, 10 a.m. kickoff in New Jersey against the New York Giants in Metife Stadium, it’s probably the best play. Do you really want Pretty or Piol being out on the field on one of the worst, maybe the worst tur surfaces in the National Football League? Keep him right. Bring him back against the Rams on that luscious grass surface at Levi Stadium, the site of Super Bowl 60, and you’re just playing a math game at that point, right? the percentages of them having another week to get healthy and playing on grass that favors you as compared to coming back too early on that bad turf surface. So, M. Jones set to make his seventh start of the year. And if you went into the 2025 season and I told you that basically by the end of October, early November, that M. Jones would have started seven games for the Niners, a lot of us would probably say season over. Probably a repeat of last year record-wise when the Niners went six and 11. But because he’s played so well behind a horrible offensive line, which hasn’t done him any favors, the Niners are right in the thick of things in the NFC and in the NFC West. M. Jones this year completing nearly 66% of his passes, almost 1,600 yards, eight touchdowns, five picks. some of those picks not really on him. He’s been let down by the offensive line. He’s been let down by some of his weapons downfield prior to last week’s game where the NerS lost time of possession 41 minutes to 18. He had been leading all quarterbacks in the NFL in passing yards per game. That’s no longer the case. He is down to 266. But what a job he’s done. What a signing he’s been for the Niners. John Lynch, speaking of him, will remain on the general manager of this football team. He obviously made that trade for Keon White, the defensive end for the Patriots on Tuesday. And for the first time publicly, he was asked on KMBBR about that acquisition. Here’s what he had to say about White. Really good player. Didn’t quite fit with what the Patriots were doing. Our analytics liked him. Bring it downstairs to our coaches. They were huge fans as well. We feel we can untap some of his limitless potential. Keon has to assimilate really quickly. Keon White also talked today and said, “One of the reasons I’m excited to come to the NerS, teaming up with defensive line coach Chris Kerak, who’s one of the best defensive line coaches in the NFL.” And I know a lot of people are going to say, “This isn’t a trade for Trey Hendrickson or Max Crosby. This guy stinks.” Don’t be such a casual. Watch games. Turn on the tape. Do some research. He was a second round pick for a reason. He fits what the Niners really like. A big defensive end who’s an excellent athlete who ran a sub48 40ard dash at 280 plus pounds in the pre-draft process. He could play defensive end. He could play defensive tackle. He’s had good production. He just wasn’t a scheme fit for what Mike Vrabel wants to do. They didn’t utilize him at defensive tackle, only at defensive end. But he’s best suited when he can play both because it allows him to exploit some mismatches. Last year he led the Patriots with five sacks, 45 pressures, and a 76.7 pass rush grade. So Lynch mentioned the analytics. You also turn on the tape. There’s a lot to be intrigued by. And the Niners didn’t cover up anything to bring in a player like Keon White. And what I’m excited to see them do is utilize his alignment and his versatility. This is what he did last year. At edge, 463 snaps, a 9.9% pressure rate. At defensive end, 202 snaps, 13.3% pressure rate. At defensive tackle, 86 snaps, a 15.8% pressure rate. That’s a high number. That’s a high number. That’s a good number. So, look for him whenever he’s active. Hopefully, it’s on Sunday against New York to be utilized all along that defensive line. Yet Gross Matoss could come back for this game, which would be big. Bryce Huff probably gonna come back against the Rams. Maybe the Niners and hopefully the Niners make another trade and all of a sudden a team that a couple of days ago had two healthy defensive ends on the 53man roster could have some depth and some intriguing pieces there. More Niners news here. Eddie Piniro for the month of October named the NFC special teams player of the month. He went a perfect 10 for 10 on his field goals. And as we’ve deemed him here on the show, his name Eddie Diero Pinero. What a pickup he’s been for San Francisco. And with how good he’s been this month in winning NFC Special Teams player of the month. He is now the second most accurate kicker in the history of the National Football League. So, let’s get to some trade buzz here on the show. This has really been a topic of conversation since the NBOSA injury. The Niners continue to get tied to Trey Hendrickson. Obviously, this is significant trade news for the Niners because if they were to make a move like this, it makes them a serious threat in the NFC in my opinion and it makes their defense so much better. And for the future, this is an intriguing player who fits what they like. Guys who love ball, guys who play hard, guys who produce. And for the NerS, he’s been pretty durable, even though right now he’s dealing with a nagging hip injury, not believed to be a long-term ailment. Here’s what Jeremy Fowler, one of the more respected NFL insiders, had to say about Hendrickson. Up to this point, the Bengals have rebuffed trade inquiries, and sources have maintained that Cincinnati has no plans to trade Hendrickson right now. But the Cowboys and the 49ers are among the most interested teams, though San Francisco made a move for a pass rusher on Tuesday night. That move, the aforementioned one for Keon White, which we discussed a little bit just moments ago. But look, the Niners should not stop at just acquiring Keon White. They need to make another move. And if it makes sense for their organization, go big game hunting. Get a big fish. And that big fish could be a player like Trey Hendrickson. NFL.com put together a piece too looking at trade targets and their best fits. They have the NerS making the most sense for Trey Hendrickson. He would also be a great scheme fit. And can you imagine him next year in the future if they resign him opposite of Nick Bosa with Mike Williams and all of those players playing defensive end or a defensive tackle? And can you imagine what Hendrickson can do under Robert Salah and Chris Koserak this year? How he can make others around him better? Here’s what NFL.com said about Hendrickson and the perfect fit to the Niners. The Niners pass rush has been decimated by injury. San Francisco is tied for the second fewest sacks in the league this season with nine despite playing in just two and a half games. Nick Bosa is still tied for third on the team with 10 quarterback pressures. Bryce off has been good, but he’s banged up. Ditto for your Tur Gross Moss hanging on to the final playoff spot in the NFC. The Niners can’t sit around and let the deadline pass without making another deal. Losing Travis Gibson. He played 39 snaps in week eight off the practice squad. Might have been the impetus for the Keon White trade. That was an amuse Buchet though. The NerS need a big honking stake. Acquiring Hendrickson would be that meaty move with an expiring contract. He wouldn’t blow up the Niners off season work of getting their salary cap situation under long-term control. Obviously, the Niners value that. The hip injury is a concern, but attempting to pry away Hendrickson from Cincy for the stretch run is a swing worth taking. The Jets Germaine Johnson could be another option having played under Robert Salah. So, this is a move also that I don’t think is going to damage your future draft capital or really hit your books all that hard. And look, Hendrickson is an elite player. four sacks, 23 pressures this year, eight quarterback hits, and a pass rush grade of 90. Outside of Nick Bosa, the Niners do not have a player close to this on their roster. And when you sh up the defensive line, it makes the linebacker’s jobs easier, cornerback’s jobs easier, and the safety’s jobs a lot easier. So, I think these are the Ner’s prime defensive end options in making a trade. And obviously all of these players are different. They are very interested in Trey Hendrickson. That has been reported by so many people locally and nationally. So I think that is the player who the Niners ideally want to go after. If they want to go with a younger player, Germaine Johnson could Germaine Johnson, excuse me, could make sense. He obviously has that familiarity with Robert Salah. if they want to go with another young player. Jaylen Phillips I think is a long explosive athlete who like Germaine Johnson did tear his Achilles last year but he’s back and healthy starting to round into form. Phillips is on the expiring year of his deal. If the Niners want to go after a veteran, Bradley Chub could make sense. He fits the scheme. And while the Dolphins recently gave him a new deal, no guaranteed money left on that contract. And then if the Niners want to bring in another familiar player like they did with Cleveland Furl, they could trade for Ardan Key who had six and a half sacks with the Niners a few years ago. Don’t forget to give me a follow on X and Instagram. By the way, I’m always talking about the Niners here on YouTube, reaching so many people. I’m talking about the Niners for free as well over on my social media pages. Super Jack coming in from Coach Fieros. $5. Thank you, my man. What’s your favorite Niners Giants moment? minus that comeback in the 2002 NFC wildard game. That would probably have to be it because when Eli Manning came in and beat the Niners in the playoffs, that was a heartbreaking defeat in route to the Giants beating the Patriots that year and they had to beat the Niners in order to get to that spot. So, uh, this has been a really sneaky good rivalry over time between the Niners and the Giants. But the 2002 NFC wildard game, that was a crazy one and that was an epic comeback. Christopher Green with a $ five dollar super chat. Realistically, what are the chances of getting Trey? I would say the chances of getting him are like 60 to 70%. It really comes down to what the Bengals want to do. They just lost to the Jets last week. Joe Burrow ain’t coming back until December. If they lose again this week to the Bears, that could put them in a spot where they decide to sell and get value back for a player who is on the last year of his contract. And if you let them walk in free agency, then you don’t get anything. Now, what makes matters interesting is how wide open the N AFC North is. It’s a bad division. You have the Steelers with four wins. You have the Ravens who are three and five right now. You have the Bengals with three wins. And so, the divisional race is still there. And so the Bengals might be holding out hope that if they stay in it somehow with Joe Flacco and they’re around 500 because at around a 500 record could win that division. If Burrow comes back in December, they can make a playoff push. And if they get into the dance with Burrow, they could be a dangerous team. We are going to be doing a mailbag for segment number four. Segment number two is about to come up. So don’t go anywhere. Why would you? We’re hanging out. We’re talking Niners. But if you want to get questions in, use the hashtag49ers or send in a super chat. And the super chats that did come in, I’ll expand on those during our mailbag. So if you have a super chat, get those in. Obviously, it goes a long way in supporting the show. We appreciate that and we’ll include those super chats in our mailbag. Coming up next here live on the San Francisco 49ers Report. You have seen me do a lot of joint previews here this year with some other hosts here at Chat Sports. I think it’s a blast. One, we have some really talented hosts here at Chat Sports who know ball and love ball, but they also really know their teams. And so, for the purpose of this week, Niners play the Giants. Marshall Green, one of our best hosts here at Chat Sports, he knows the Giants like the back of his hand. So, he’s going to join me and we are going to preview this Niners Giants game. And let’s preview it right now. Continue to hang out here with us. All right, welcome into the show. I’m Chase Senior, host of the 49ers report. To my right, that is Marshall Green, host of Giants. Now, we’re going to preview this Niners Giants game, which is coming up at 100 p.m. Eastern on Sunday. We’ll both be live doing watch parties for our respective channels on the 49ers Report and Giants Now. And what we want to do with this show is just preview this game and give fans from both fan bases insight as to what to expect for this ball game from San Francisco and from the Giants. And Marshall, as you know, I’ve watched a lot of Giants games this year and compared to years prior, this team is more competitive. They have more of an edge. They’re a lot more physical. They’re a feisty team, but they are coming off back-to-back losses. that crazy defeat against the Denver Broncos where they gave up what 30 plus points in the fourth quarter points in the fourth quarter. 33 points in the fourth quarter and then they lose last week in a game to the Philadelphia Eagles where the whistle wasn’t necessarily on their side but they gave up 250 plus rushing yards. And so with where the Giants are now, you didn’t expect them to be really a playoff team this year, but how is the fan base feeling about this team at 2 and six going into week nine? Yeah, I would say the vibes right now are probably the lowest they have been throughout the season after that loss to the Denver Broncos. Hearts were broken. My heart was broken if you’re a Giants fan watching this. Your heart was broken. And then you go into the game against the Philadelphia Eagles and really the heartbeat of your football team. Cam Scataboo goes down with a nasty injury like he did. He is now out for the season. This was never a team that was going to make a Super Bowl run, but we were hoping this is a team that could be maybe in the in the hunt graphic when we got to November, but now you’re also being kind of struck by lightning by the injury gods. Cam Scaboo out for the year. Malik Neighbors out for the year. Last week against the Philadelphia Eagles, Paul Adbo, your star corner didn’t play. Javon Holland did not play. And this roster is just not deep enough to take those kind of hits. So, I guess where we’re at right now is there’s nine games left. Really a sample size for Ryan Dable to keep his job to really get a better evaluation of where this roster is at with Joe Shane. And really, the only reason I’m waking up Chase on Sunday morning, still excited, is to watch Jackson Dart play football. Kyle Shanahan was very complimentary of the way he has played. And I know the Niners are a little bit thinner than they were at the start of the year on defense, but but I’m excited to see how Robert Salah game plans and tried to stop Jackson Dart over the last couple of weeks. Teams are trying to keep him in the pocket a little bit more. I know the Niners aren’t the best pass rush team, but Salah, one of the best in the business. I know he’s going to be creative and he might just throw this kitchen sink at the rookie. Really impressed by what Jackson Dart’s been able to do and in the pre-draft process. I know you and I were big fans of his. His his ability to create plays out of structure, improvise is highly impressive. He has a really good pocket feel. Throwing the football, we knew that he had a really good arm, but I think he’s been even better in that regard in that area, especially considering that, as you said, Malik Neighbors out for the year. He’s probably throwing to one of the worst, if not the worst, wide receiver rooms in the NFL. So, he’s really been able to maximize guys around him. I’m interested to see how the Giants adapt not having Cam Scataboo because he was so good for them and that was another player who I like for the Niners in the pre-draft process. Sticking with Dart here, his ability to extend plays is something that Kyle Shanahan had specifically mentioned on Wednesday. And if the Niners can’t get to him, I think that could spell a lot of trouble for the Niners. And that’s been a big problem for San Francisco because their pass rushing numbers this year are gross. Total sacks nine. That’s 30th among the 32 teams. Total pressure is 86. That ranks 28th. Total hurryries 70. That ranks 18th. Their pressure rate is 29 and a4%. That’s dead last in the NFL. And their sack rate second to last in the National Football League. Yeah, not great. And look, the Giants offensive line, it’s been better this year. Andrew Thomas is back to playing at an allpro level. Germaine Aluminor is playing well before he gets to a contract extension this spring. He’s also coming off an injury playing through a pec injury that he suffered against the Eagles. And and Chase, I know you got to watch the Giants Eagles game. You kind of saw the Eagles in the first half, they kind of just went after Jackson Dart, but in that second half, it was almost just like a mug rush where they were trying to keep him in the pocket, trying to get him to win from in the pocket. And that’s kind of the next step for Dart. The playmaking, it’s obvious. Every everybody sees it. He has great pocket feel. He can get out. He can make that second play, improvise, create. He’s really good in the scramble drill as well. But the Niners, I think, might, as you talked about and have painted very well, aren’t a great pass rush team. Maybe they just try to get him to stay in the pocket and throw to receivers who quite frankly for the New York Giants aren’t very good, don’t create separation, and aren’t really being schemed up open all that often. Up until last week, I actually thought the Giants offensive line had been playing well. Then they had their worst game of the year. The Eagles had 22 pressures and five sacks of Jackson Dart. That was by far Philadelphia’s best pass rushing game of the year. But for the NerS, since that Nick Bosa injury, they probably had their worst game at getting after the quarterback. CJ Strad last week had all day to throw. The Niners had 10 pressures as a team and zero sacks. And that led to CJ Strad probably having one of his best games since he’s had since his rookie year. So was that just a down game for the Giants offensive line, you think? Obviously the revenge factor was huge for the four of the five sacks were technically charged to Jackson Dart. So sometimes in life your biggest strength can be your biggest Achilles heel. He holds on to the football. Is that because people aren’t open? People aren’t getting open? I think there’s a little bit of both of those things. But I thought he held on to the football a little bit longer than he usually had in that game against Philly. I went back and I watched the all 22 film. There also wasn’t people open. So, it’s a double-edged sword there. Four of the five sacks charged to him. So, I know uh Jay Hunt, I believe, is his name, right? He got the best of Andrew Thomas a couple of times. Interested to see how the Giants O line bounces back. want to see Dart remain on schedule while trying to balance the fact of winning in the pocket, letting it rip when you see it, but also still being that playmaker that you’ve been that have helped you be so successful so far this year. And for the Niners along the defensive line, they make the trade this week for Keon White. I imagine he’s going to play because the NerS before that trade had two healthy defensive ends on their 53man roster. They also added Cleon Furl to their practice squad. He had three and a half sacks and started every game for the Niners back in 2023. So, some reinforcements for San Francisco. And Robert Salah has done a great job of making chicken salad out of chicken this year with all of the injuries that have happened on defense to Nick Bosa and Fred Warner against Houston. Though, that was one of the games where everything that he called, everything that he devised and drew up, it just didn’t work. And when the NerS blitzed, they got exposed on that back end. sticking with the defensive line. But for the Giants, one of the biggest concerns that I have in this game from the Niners standpoint, we’re not sure who’s going to play at quarterback. Pretty sure it’s going to be M. Jones who’s immobile. Brock Pury coming off that turftoe injury. I doubt he plays because he’s not quite 100% plus that Metife turf probably not great for his turf toe. But a huge matchup in this game. The Giants defensive line, one of the best personnel-wise in the NFL against the Niners offensive line, one of the worst in the NFL. This could be a game, Marsh, Giants fans, where the Giants defensive line could take over and really get after it. Yeah, they’re going to have to look this back end of the Giants defense. It’s pretty beat up. Cordell Flot still dealing with it to concussion after he got punched in the face by Bobby O’ Carrick in the Eagles game. He had to leave that one. Um Paul Sadivbo, he has not practiced this week after not playing last week. So you could potentially be down your CB1, your CB2, Art Green, a depth piece. He has been injured as well. So you’re going to see a lot of Deontay Banks out there. And we saw Jaylen Herz last week. Where number two was, that’s where I’m going with the football. Deontay Banks has not been a good football player in the National Football League. And the Giant secondary is light. So you’re going to need an Abdul Carter game. We are getting so close. He caused havoc in that Eagles game. Drew holding on Lane Johnson. He forced a 22 yard sack against Jaylen Herz where Brian Burns cleaned it up. That multi-sack game is coming. I’m hoping it’s this week against the San Francisco 49ers. Brian Burns 10 plus sacks this year already. Dexter Lawrence, a lot of stuff going on with him. Carl Banks. Yeah, Carl Banks called him out. Then he called Carl Banks delusional. They played him more a nose tackle against the Eagles than they had before. That’s his position where he is the best. And I’ve done my research as well. I see the Niners aren’t that great at the interior offensive line this year. I know the bookendin tackles are still playing well, but Dexter Lawrence needs to dominate the interior offensive line for the Niners who you know all well have not been all that great this year. Yeah, I’ll say if there’s a game for Dexter Lawrence to get back on track and he’s long been one of the best nose tackles, defensive tackles in football, it’s this game. especially if he lines up over Connor KBY who is last in pressure rate allowed among left guards in football. Rookie seventh round pick out of Iowa has really struggled. You have Matt Matt Hennessy who is the backup center. He’s starting in place of Jake Brendle. And then Dominic Puny, a third round pick from 2024. He has struggled this year. We’ll continue to preview this game coming up just around the corner. Marshall mentioned some of the secondary struggles for New York this year. That’s been obvious when you watch games or you look at the tape. Another thing that I want to point out here, the Giants run defense this year. It’s been one of the worst units in the NFL, if not the worst. Yards per carry allowed, they’re 32nd among 32 teams. EPA per rush given up, 32nd in the NFL. Success rate given up is also dead last. But then you have a Niners team that historically under Kyle Shanahan with the outside zone has been able to be one of the best rushing offenses in the NFL. That hasn’t happened this year. The offensive line has been bad. You’ve been without a lot of marquee players at the receiver tight end spots because of a lot of injuries there. And so that’s impacted the run game, too. Not having Brock Pury obviously takes away the mobility threat at the quarterback spot. Maybe Christian McCaffry’s lost a half step, but he’s looked pretty damn good. What the Niners did a couple of weeks ago against Atlanta, Kyle Shanahan said, “The goal in this game is to play bully ball. We’re going to run it about 40 times.” and they found a lot of success running it. Now, they went from outside zone to more gap and power. They found success. Maybe they do that in this game, but it wouldn’t surprise me, Marshall, if early on you see the Ners really tried to establish that run game. And they should, and they should run the ball outside the tackle. Shout out to my guy Justin Pennock of Talking Giants pulled this awesome stat. Well, not awesome, but the New York Giants, they allow 7.9 yards per carry outside the tackle. Um, that’s the worst in the National Football League. That’s a whole yard worse than the 31st best rush defense outside the tackles. So, I’ve already had nightmares this week of the Christian McCaffrey get right game. You get back to that zone scheme that Shanahan is famous for and it’s 15 yards this way off the tackle. 15 yards this way off the tackle. So, I’m absolutely worried about that. I know a lot of people have been saying it’s because Marshall we’re not good on the defensive line stopping the run. I that’s a part of it, but I think this is more to blame with the lack of talent you have at the offball linebacker spot. Bobby O’ Carrick has not been the same player he was just two years ago. Darius Muisowl, the secondyear linebacker out of UCLA, maybe some Niners fans know who he is. He has not been good in the National Football League. So yeah, if you’re Kyle Shanahan and you want to get back to 49er football of smashmouth, we’re going to run it down your throat, you’re playing the best team to do it, the Philadelphia Eagles. They had their get right game running the ball last week with Saquon Barkley. Second play from scrimmage, 65 yard down, 65 yards down the left side. I’m worried about that, Chase. I’m also worried about the Giants trying to guard Christian McCaffrey out of the backfield as a wide receiver. the numbers that I saw this week, I was shocked how much they’re throwing him the football and how successful he has been in those areas. Do you see that happening again this week? I mean, why would you go away from it at this point? The Giants linebackers can’t cover, they can’t tackle, and if you want a big play, go at number 27. Tyler Newben, he has really struggled in his second year out of Minnesota. Yeah, he had that bad angle, too, on the Saquon run that went for 65 yards. and very few running backs as Giants fans are very familiar with who can beat the safety to the sideline like that and then it’s deuces on the way to the paint. So going back to Christian McCaffrey. Yeah. I mean so the Niners definitely will utilize him as a pass catcher. He’s such a filthy route runner from the slot. His pops was an allp pro and a Super Bowl champion at wide receiver. Ed McCaffrey for the Mike Shanahan Broncos teams that won Super Bowls and made it to Super Bowls with John Elway as a quarterback. Obviously, Christian McCaffry’s brother, Luke McCaffrey, turning into a solid wide receiver for the Washington Commander. So, his footwork and his route running from the slot, very impressive. Obviously, he’ll catch some screen passes out of the back field. A lot of it though, Marsh, has been M. Jones, Brock Party, they go through their progressions and because the Niners are so short-handed at wide out, nobody’s open because they don’t have a lot of explosiveness there. And so, the last read of the play, okay, nothing’s open. Let’s dump it off to McAffrey. He still has some wiggle and burst. He can make guys miss in a phone booth and he can pick up yards to rack up some of those receiving yards. But you’re right, he has 56 catches this year. That is number two in the NFL behind Jamar Chase. And then as far as receiving players, not just running backs. Exactly. Who Jamar Chase in my opinion is the best wide receiver in football. And then he has 559 receiving yards. That’s behind Jackson Smith and Jigba, Jamar Chase, George Pickkins, Puka Nakua, Justin Jefferson, Devonte Smith, Amecha Igbuka, and then McAffrey is right there. So, it’s ridiculous what he’s doing this year. He’s on pace to have a 1,000 season, and he’s done that, I think, once before in his NFL career. Chip giving me the nod on that because we were looking at those numbers last week. And so, that is a way to target kind of a weakness for this Giants defense. I do want to ask you about the Giants defense. I know Shane Bowen has come under criticism in the city of New York and for Giants fans everywhere. The famous on the Broncos game-winning drive, rush three, drop back eight. Has that just been a consistent problem? Just play calling and scheme that doesn’t really make sense in the moment of games. Yeah. I mean, you go back to the game against the Dallas Cowboys in week two. You you should have closed that game out where Dak Prescott throws an 18yd ball up the seam to get you in field goal range. the game against the Denver Broncos, the Giants have just not been good situationally on defense to close out games and then when their defensive line does put them in advantageous situations, they do not capitalize. Second and 35 last week and Tank Bsby or second and 31 and Tank Bsby rips off a 35 yd run to move the chain. 25 of 35 times where the Giants defense has had the opposing offense in first or second and 11 plus yards, they’ve gotten a first down. That makes no sense. So even if you’re the Niners and you suffer a sack on first down and it’s second and 12, second and 18, the drive is not dead. You can keep it alive. For Shane Bowen, look, he has not been great, but the players at some point they need to execute as well. So I it’s the classic is are they bad because of the players, are they bad because the play clock. I think it’s a mix of both and I don’t really believe in the way that Shane Bowen operates on defense. Like when you think of the New York Giants in their heyday, fast, physical, aggressive, downhill, Shane Bowen is bend but don’t break. Let’s let them make a mistake and not force it. We’re going to be passive. And overall, this defense, it is just a slow defense sideline to sideline. And and that is why I just I see a big game coming for Christian McCaffrey. I I really do. Yeah, and one of the big storylines for this game as well, this game is big for the Niners, right? The difference between six and three and five and four going into the NFL trade deadline, which is coming up on Tuesday. That’s a big swing. And obviously for the Giants, the sole focus right now is the development of Jackson Dart. For the Giants, there is a pass rusher who Niner fans very interested in, and I am as well. That’s Kavon Tibido, who I think would be a good scheme fit under contract next year, can get after the quarterback. He’s good against the run. There’s been a lot of chatter that maybe he gets moved. Is there any chance that he could just hop on the plane with the Niners, come back to Santa Clara? Do you think he gets dealt? I I mean, look, are the Niners gonna offer a first round pick? I think the Giants would have to listen. I mean, look, I did a video. I want to keep Kavon Tibido. Um, in my five years of covering the Giants here, I’ve learned one thing. talent or roster as many talented football players as you can, no matter the position and no matter how much depth you have at the position, especially the guys that you draft and you develop. That’s the blueprint for good football teams in this league. Draft good players, develop them into good better players and retain those players. The Giants under Joe Shane, um, they have not really done that. So, I know you have Brian Burns. I know you got Abdul Carter and Dexter Lawrence, but Kavon Tibido is a good player. He’s having his best year in the NFL. There’s a reason other teams want him now because he’s playing good football. I’m hoping I see Kavon Tibido maybe sack M. Jones a couple of times. And Chase, I wanted to ask you in the what, six games M. Jones has actually started this year. I didn’t even realize it was that high. What has he done well when the offense looks good with the NerS with M. Jones? How are they moving the ball? How are they putting up points? They’re four and two in the games he’s started this year. So, I think if you’re a Niners fan, you could say it better than me. You got to be pretty happy with the way he’s played. And I think Giants fans may be looking at it, oh, M. Jones, we got to win. I would kind of pump the brakes on that. Uh M. Jones has played great. I mean, anytime you can have a backup quarterback go four and two, and up until last game, he was leading the NFL in passing yards per game. You’ll take that. I think he’s filled in really nicely for Brock Pury. Obviously, they are different quarterbacks. Brock Pury, like Jackson Dart, different players, but in the same sense going to be able to create. He’s going to be able to buy time and either make a play downfield with his arm out of structure or he’s going to be able to utilize his legs and pick up chunks of yards on the ground. M. Jones is more of that pocket quarterback who’s not going to move around all that much, but he does have a good pocket feel. I I’d say he also has a better deep ball than Pertie. Sometimes he can make that opposite hash to opposite sideline throw better than Pertie. puts some more velocity behind the football because he does have a stronger arm. He’s also a bigger athlete. And another thing, too, when Mack has played well, he’s been protected. They’ve gotten the ball out on time. When he’s played poorly, it’s really not on him. It’s because his offensive line has been horrible and he’s gotten a pass rush right up the gut, which blurs his sighteline as a quarterback. It muddies up the pocket and he’s had no chance back there. So, all things considered, we’ve seen why Kyle Shanahan really liked Mack in the pre-draft process in 2021. Why for a little while he advocated for the NerS to take him ahead of Trey Lance. He does a great job of running the offense, playing point guard, getting the rid of the ball on time, accurately to his playmakers. This is such an interesting game because the things the Giants do well, the Ners don’t do good at stopping it. What the Ner’s do well, the Giants don’t do good at stopping. Giants can rush the passer. Niners don’t block all that well. The Ners are struggling to run the football. The Giants don’t run stop the run well at all. So, while we’ve talked about it could be a get right game for the Niners. Like, there’s still a part of me that believes the Giants could win this football game. Not the most talented receivers. Still know Brandon Aayuk. Like, I know you’re thin at corner, but this is a game I do think the Giants can win. Vegas has the Niners as two and a half point favorites. crosscountry flight. So five and a half early body clock game for them on the West Coast. Yeah, I could see us going multiple ways. I expect McCaffrey to have a good game, but like what if Dexter Lawrence comes out and dominates a weak interior offensive line? He muddies up that pocket for M. Jones and he can’t escape. That’s kind of where the Giants have been burned sometimes. We’ve seen Dak Prescott extend plays. We’ve seen Jaylen Herz extend some plays. We saw Bo Knicks extend some plays. So, look, I think if I if I had to bet, I would maybe lean towards the Niners, but I might hedge and put some money on Giants money line as well. Look, the two games that M. Jones has lost as a starter against Tampa Bay, against Houston, what did those two teams do very well? They were relentless in getting after M. Jones, beating up on an inferior offensive line. So, there is certainly a reality here in which this Giants defensive line, personnel-wise, one of the most talented groups in the NFL. they can take over this game and it would surprise me if the Niners lose this game. I do think it’s going to be a close one. We’re both going to be live for watch parties on our channels. Giants now, San Francisco 49ers report. Been having a blast doing these previews, bringing in a different perspective from some great talented people here at Chat Sports. Hopefully you enjoyed it too and subscribe to our channels. We’ll see you Sunday. Awesome to have Marshall Green join me for that Giants Niners preview as we outline going to be a really good game between San Francisco and New York coming up on Sunday. Did get a super chat that came in. Matthew Short with this $5 super chat. Chase, I would love to see McDaniels on this team. Young player, great motor, but what do you think that the Jets would part with him? Oh, so you’re talking about Oh, McDonald. Um, Will McDonald. Okay, so I got what you’re saying there. Uh, Will McDonald. Really like him, man. uh good player for the Jets obviously like Germaine Johnson has that familiarity with Robert Salah doesn’t have the injury history that Germaine Johnson has because obviously Johnson suffered that torn Achilles last year if it’s Germaine Johnson if it’s Will McDonald I’m in on both I think both of them are really good players they’re both young I have seen that the Jets would rather keep McDonald because he’s under contract next year whereas Germaine Johnson is not but I’ll expand on that with our mailbag coming up here. Segment number four. Joseph Nberg $2 super chat. Giants committing football murder on Sunday. Chase, you think so? I mean, as I talked about in that preview, I’m worried about that Giants defensive line against this Ner’s offensive line. It could be a blood bath if the Ner’s offensive line doesn’t bring it. And from a talent standpoint, it’s really not close between the two ball clubs. Bill Kennedy, does Chat Sports have reps at games in press boxes? So, I’ve gone to games before and that’s part of what we do. We’ll interview coaches, we’ll interview players, but honestly, I kind of prefer this where we go live for games for our watch parties and we can watch the game together. We can react to it and obviously we do better watch party numbers than anybody out there. So, I’ve gone to the Super Bowl. I’ve been to NFL combines. We’ve done some stuff like that. Uh, and in my previous job, I did some Big Jay stuff like that. But honestly, the platform that we have here at Chat Sports and what we do as a company, we have a studio where we have 16 studios. We’re all content creators and we host shows from our studios and we’re live during the games instead of being at the games. And we kind of put together like a strategy where this show is kind of like a radio show, podcast, television show all kind of put together. And so you think about what radio shows do, what studio shows do. They’re not at games either. And so that’s kind of the model that we have as well, but obviously on a YouTube platform. Johnny Yam, $10 super chat. Yam yam yam. Thank you for that. Much appreciated, my brother. You are the man. All right. Segment number three is coming up here live on the 49ers report. Some more trade buzz to get to for San Francisco. Another reminder, if you want to join our mailbag, use the hashtag49ers or send in a super chat. That’s49ers or send in a super chat. We’ve gotten a lot of super chats already. Those will be included in the mailbag, which is coming up right after this segment. And then we’ll get to your questions as well using the hasht 49ers. All right, segment number three coming up. Niners trade buzz. Let’s dive in. NFL trade deadline is coming up on Tuesday, November 4th. So, let’s get into it here on the San Francisco 49ers report. We’re talking about some Niners trade buzz, a look into the latest rumblings around the Niners going into the deadline. And with the deadline coming up on Tuesday, a programming reminder, a programming alert, we’re going to be live here all day on the San Francisco 49ers report. So, subscribe to the channel, but when you do that, hit that bell icon, turn on your notifications, and hit all. Therefore, anytime I push out a video, anytime we go live for a live show or a watch party, you’ll be notified and you can help us grow the empire, we’re approaching 179,000 subscribers, less than 200 people away from that milestone. So, the deadline coming up for all 32 teams across the National Football League. We’re going into week nine for San Francisco. They’re on the road playing the Giants. They play the Rams at home in week 10. And so this deadline is after week nine going into week 10 on Tuesday, November 4th. As I mentioned, the Niners so far have made one move during the season. That’s trading for defensive end Keon White. A move that I like because of his positional versatility. Still a young player under contract next year. The Niners didn’t give up a lot and he fits the prototype for what the Niners look for and like at the defensive end spot. playing defensive end, defensive tackle with really good size and he can win with some power moves. Here’s what John Lynch said on KNBR about the possibility of him making a move for San Francisco. I’ll never say never because we still have some time left on this deadline. We like whoever we trade for to be here for more than just the end of the season. We also want to keep our draft picks. We don’t want to eat into that too much, but also want to bolster our team this year. Obviously, the Niners did that with Keon White giving up a late rounder. It’s no big deal. And I think that move is going to be beneficial for San Francisco because they were desperate to do something at defensive end. And speaking of this game, looking ahead to Sunday, right, think about it. This game against the Giants is huge. There is a massive difference between being six and three going into the trade deadline and five and four. Now, it might only be a oneame swing, but three games above 500 compared to one game above 500, that’s the swing that I’m talking about in the standings. But the belief that you have in yourselves as a football team if you’re the general manager thinking about pondering about potentially making a move. Now, I’ve said for a long while here that I think the Niners need to make a move or moves, and I predicted they could make a couple. Well, Keon White was one trade that the Niners made on Tuesday, and I think there’s another move that they could make, especially if they beat the Giants. I think it’s a little bit too late in the week to make a trade going into week nine, but going into the deadline, that’s when the Niners could strike. And you look at where things stand in the NFC West right now. Niners, Rams, Seahawks all have five wins. The Seahawks and Rams are above the Niners because they have a fewer loss, right? Two losses, two losses. But what the Niners have working for them, they are 3-0 in the NFC West right now. They beat Seattle. They beat the Rams. They beat the Cardinals. And so in this division, they’re in a good spot. And still in the NFL, even though this has been a little bit controversial, you win your division, you host a playoff game. Then you look at some of the other standings across the entire NFC to see the outlook here for the NerS and other teams and you’ll see how closely contested everything is. And Chip, I can just pull this up real quick on my front. It is such a wideopen conference and it’s a year where I don’t know if anybody knows who the best team is. If there’s a bonafide Super Bowl favorite, I’d say right now the Kansas City Chiefs are playing the best among all teams, but to start the year, they looked very talent deficient. The Indianapolis Colts are certainly a threat. They’re currently the number one seed in the AFC, but obviously they don’t have a long track record of success with their current regime under Shane Stiken. And they have Daniel Jones who the Giants let go because they couldn’t take him any longer. And then in the NFC, it’s competitive, it’s close, but it’s wide open. And so if you’re the Niners, you get to six and three, I think you have to make a move because you are a factor inside this conference. Now, here’s how the standings go. Green Bay Packers have the number one spot at 51 and one. The Niners have as many wins as Green Bay does. The Philadelphia Eagles two seed at 6-2. Buccaneers three seed at 6-2. Then you have the Seahawks at 5-2. Niners already have the head-to-head. They’ll play them the final week of the season. Lions at 5-2. Rams at 5-2. And right now, the final playoff spot would go to San Francisco at 5-3. If the season were to end today in the wildard round, they’d be on the road to play the Philadelphia Eagles in that 2-7 matchup on their heels. The Bears who they play this year, the Panthers, who they play this year, then the Dallas Cowboys at 34 and one. And so if the Niners go out there and they trade for a defensive end, that improves your pass rush, which has been one of the worst pass rushing units in the NFL. But if you’re able to generate a pass rush and that defensive end can help improve against the run, what does it do for the rest of your defense? It benefits everybody else. If you can’t get pressure on the quarterback, it is impossible to play quarterback and safety and play defensive back back there when the quarterback has all day to survey the field, go through their reads and progressions, and pick you apart. That’s what happened against CJ Strad last week. And this is something that the ners need to improve upon. They trade for Keon White. They sign Cleon Furlos Matsos might be able to play against the Giants on Sunday. We’ll see. Dealing with that hammy. Bryce Huff not going to play against the Giants. Could play in week 10 against the Rams. So obviously those are reinforcements there. But I still think the Ners could stand to make another move because look at their pass rushing stats this year. Total sacks only nine as a team. and they’ve played eight games. That’s 30th in the NFL. Total pressures, 86 of them. It’s 28th in the league. Total hurries, 70 hurries. That’s 18th. Pressure rate 29.25% dead last in the NFL. Sack rate 3%. That’s 31st. So, you also think about it from this standpoint, too, right? You might only have Robert Salah this year. Robert Salah has been maybe the best defensive coordinator in football considering what he’s done with all of these injuries to Nick Bosa, Fred Warner, others combined with having to have all of these young players play big roles maximize and take advantage of the one year that you might have Robert Salah. Plus, if you give him some more ingredients for the recipe, he’s going to be able to make it work. And so, you think about what the Niners have done so far at defensive end. Keon White, he helps you inside, outside. He can play defensive end. He could play defensive tackle. Cleveland Furl added to the practice squad. He replaces Travis Gibson who you lost. Still to come, get a true pass rusher in here and that will make this defense a scary unit in my opinion because you’re good and good enough at linebacker. You’re good in the secondary. Safeties need to improve a little bit, but again, it’s not it’s not fair to safeties, I should say, if you can’t get pressure on the QB. Now, coming up next, more Niners trade intel from ESPN. Don’t go anywhere. That’s coming up here just around the corner. But let’s get to our sponsor, our friends at Harry’s. I’ve been using their razors for a really long time, and we have a phenomenal deal. If you go to harrys.com/hat and use the code chat, this really has been a game-changing product for me, and I’ve been using them over the last several months. You think about razors, right? Sometimes they can dull too fast or they can irritate your neck. Oftentimes they cost way too much. Like $30 for eight refills, that is a total scam. So my first reaction when I started the shave with Harry’s, how smooth of a shave it was. The weighted handle allowed for me to control the razor even better. And my skin wasn’t really impacted. I have very sensitive skin. So Harry’s Plus has an advanced pivoting system to reach every corner of your face. Every cartridge includes a lubricating strip with aloe and vitamin E to calm your skin while you shave. And Harry’s owns their own worldclass blade factory in Germany. I love this because there’s no outsourcing. There’s no middleman. That same facility has been perfecting blade making for over 100 years. Because they control the entire process from steel to shelf. They keep their costs low. That’s why it’s so affordable. More on that in a moment. Why pay $30 for refills when Harrias gives you better blades for a fraction of that cost? Harries has launched their most advanced razor ever, and it’s still cheaper than Gillette Fusion 5. If you don’t love your shave, Harry’s will make it right. No questions asked. Risk-free trial means there’s zero downside to giving it a shot. So, for a limited time, our listeners can get the Har’s Plush trial set for only $10. That’s right, only $10 at harryas.com/hat. This set includes the allnew Harris Plus razor, one refined fiveblade cartridge, a 2o foaming shave gel, and a travel cover to protect your blades on the go. Again, just go to harrys.com/hat. Let them know that we sent you. I’ve already seen so many people down in the comment section saying, “Great razor.” I agree. So ESPN put together an article looking at the trade possibilities of all teams across the NFL and ESPN through their model has the ners with an 81% chance of making the playoffs. That’s again another reason and more ammunition for I would why I would make a trade because you’ve got a realistic shot here. And some people might say there’s a ceiling on this team. They can only be so good without Fred Warner and Nick Bosa. That is true and I’ll give credence to that. But at the same time, how valuable would it be if you can get this young team more playoff experience? And when you get in the dance with a coaching staff like this, Kyle Shanahan on offense with all of his good playoff history outside of Super Bowls because that is a fact. And you have Robert Salah, you’ve got a chance to win any game. And the Niners right now, the projected first round pick slot 22 overall because they’re the seven seed in the NFC. And so here’s what Jeremy Fowler, NFL insider, said about the NerS, adding, subtracting, or sitting it out. He has the ners adding. The 49ers have been active on the phone lines looking at several pass rushers and landed Keon White from the Patriots on Tuesday. Linebacker is a need, too, but the focus seems to be on the defensive front. Bengals pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is firmly on the radar, but so are several others. And that’s why I’ve been talking about this on the show. This is why we discuss trade rumors, trade buzz, and trade targets because the Niners are active working the phones, and they’re looking to improve their roster. They just made that trade for Keon White, and especially if they beat the Giants on Sunday, more moves could be coming. Here’s what Joe Shots said about the Niners. And a lot of fans are going to like this. the key position of need guard for the ners going into the deadline. Left guard Connor Kby, a seventhround rookie, ranks last among all qualified guards in pass block win rate at 84.3%. Now, I agree and I’ve been saying since 2021, the NerS need to improve the offensive line. The NerS need to improve the offensive line. The issue with that though is that other teams who are bad either have a young quarterback or they’re going to draft a quarterback. And so they want to keep their offensive lineman to keep those young quarterbacks upright and healthy. Very hard to bring in a quality offensive lineman at the NFL trade deadline. Nick Wagner on the Niners. He covers San Francisco locally. Who could be on the move? Wide receiver Jawan Jennings is a player who the Niners could trade. The Niners aren’t in position to trade anybody as injuries have ravaged the roster, but Jennings could probably be had if things aligned a certain way. Those conditions would include the Niners getting the likes of Brandon Aayuk, Ricky Pearaw. They’re coming back healthy and not losing any of their other healthy receivers to injury. Jennings is in the last year of his deal. He requested a trade in training camp. Though he has had a down season amid a variety of his own injuries, it’s hard to envision a scenario in which the Niners can retain him after this season. Now, Kyle Shanahan did say on Wednesday, I’d be surprised if Jawan Jennings wasn’t on our team. But what if a team wowed the NerS with a trade offer? fourth round pick, fifth round pick for a player who is probably going to walk after this year when you’re in a good spot at that wide receiver position. Something to consider, something to monitor. If I was Jawan Jennings, he wants a bag after one good year. He has to play better. And this year, he hasn’t played well. Plus, the attitude hasn’t been great. Ben Solac looking at linebacker for the NerS. Who could be targeted? Jets linebacker Quincy Williams. He broke out as an allp pro in 2023 under Robert Salah. He has one year left on his contract. The Jets probably don’t want to move the talented 29-year-old linebacker, but the 49ers should be desperate for a quick boost to their linebacker play after Fred Warner season ending ankle injury. Williams could bring in a decent return accordingly. I talked a lot about Williams here on the show. He’s a really good player who knows the scheme, thrived under Robert Salah. I do think the Niners can survive at linebacker if they make another move at pass rusher. This is also where Nick Martin not being ready to play and a little bit of a reach potentially in that third round has hurt the NerS because he can’t see the field. But I think we’ve seen good things from Tatum Mthune. Dwyers has been up and down. You have some other players like Luke Gford who can step in and give you some snaps. I wouldn’t expect the Niners to trade for a backer just because pass rusher is a lot more important. Whatever happens, I’m going to have you covered right here on the San Francisco 49ers report. So, don’t forget to hit that sub button. I’m man report. Maybe Trey Jennings and a pick to Vegas for Jacobe Meyers. Yeah, that’s interesting. And I really like Jacobe Myers as a player, but the thing is you’re giving up an expiring contract for an expiring contract unless you had plans to have Meyers on your team for the future. But think about it. You have Ricky Pearl. You have Brandon Au coming back healthy. You have Demarcus Robinson under contract next year. You like Jordan Watkins. Jacob Cowing if he ever comes back. He’s got some ability as well. And if anything, why not draft a wide receiver next year if that is a need for your football team who’s going to come at a fraction of the cost of Jacobe Myers? One segment left to get to. Going to do a mailbag. Use the hashtag 49ers. Send in a super chat. That’s #49ers or send in a super chat. Appreciate all the good questions today. Got a bunch of super chats coming in. Got a decent amount of questions here so we can get into this thing. Last chance to get your questions in and really last chance to ask about trades as next time we’ll be live for the deadline. But then after that, that’s it for the rest of the regular season at least. So, yeah, get those trade questions in. Genie Wyatt, make sure you do 49ers instead of just 49 or else it uh it won’t show up. And I’ve seen you ask a few good ones, but it’s got to be 49ers instead of 49. #49ers. Shout out to the real ones. Did the Dylan thing again. God damn it. What’ you say? The Dylan thing again. I’m so I’m so used to it just being my name. Dilly came in here and took over. Dylan Chipper. Shout out to Dilly, man. How did Dylan do it, buddy? How’d y’all like Dylan? The people like Dylan. At one point, they wanted to see more energy, but uh Dylan did a great job. There we go, Genie. Perfect. Perfect. Barry asking a question. Got some good stuff. I think we’re good to go. Let’s get it. Let’s go. Let’s answer your questions. Leon Sandcastle’s back in the building. What up, Leon Sastle? It’s a good question there. All right, mailbag coming up live 49ers report. Let’s dive right in. Let’s go. Welcome into the San Francisco 49ers report. We’ll be live for a pregame show, live during the game, live for a postgame show as well. You don’t want to miss it. Therefore, anytime I push out a video, anytime we go live, you will get that push notification. Let’s begin here with Christopher Green $5 super chat. Realistically, what are the chances of getting Trey Hendrickson? It really comes down to what happens with the Bengals this week. Bengals play the Chicago Bears. If they lose, I think that enhances the chances of the Bengals trading him away because he’s on an expiring contract. He wanted to stay long-term. He wanted to sign a long-term deal. The Bengals, a historically cheap organization, didn’t want to give him that long-term contract. And so they could get value back for a player who they would otherwise lose for nothing in free agency. The thing that throws a wrench into all of this is that the AFC North has been a horrible division. The Steelers have four wins, the Ravens have three. They’re in the mix, but so too are the Browns with two wins, and the Bengals have three wins. And so things are so close in that division where Cincinnati could say, “Let’s hold on to Hendrickson despite our record.” Because if we can hover around 500, Joe Burrow comes back in December, we’ll have an opportunity to potentially make it to the playoffs. And if the Bengals are in the playoffs, I’m telling you this right now, no team will want to face them because they’re going to have to go up against Joe Burrow, who went healthy, is a top three quarterback in football. So, I’d say the chances are solid for the Niners to bring in Trey Hendrickson. They really want him. It all comes down to what Cincinnati will do. I man report. Maybe trade Jawan Jennings and a pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for Jacobe Meyers. I like Jacobe Myers as a player. I like Jawan Jennings as a player when he has good body language, he’s not moping and complaining, when he doesn’t have a bad attitude, and he’s actually catching the football. But all of those issues have been issues this year. Now, I would say that Jennings and Meyers are somewhat similar players. Myers is a little bit faster. I did say this prior to the year that I think the deal that Jennings should be looking at getting is the Jacobe Myers contract that he got a few years ago from the Raiders, right in that like $15 million per year range. But why I don’t think that trade makes sense is because Jennings is on the final year of his contract. Myers is going to be a free agent after this year. So, you’d basically be swapping wide receivers while losing them after the season, I would imagine. Matthew Short, $5. I would love to see Will McDonald on this team as a young player. He has a great motor, but do you think that the Jets would part with him? So, the Jets are another team that could go on a fire sale going into the trade deadline. And there are two pass rushers on that team who they could part ways with. one, Germaine Johnson, and two, Will McDonald. I like Will McDonald as a player. 15th overall pick in the 2023 draft. Obviously has a familiarity with Robert Salah. He was the head coach for the team when they drafted him in that first round. Salah also knows Germaine Johnson. Will McDonald 64 245. Johnson’s a little bit bigger. McDonald has had some success in his career. Three sacks in year one, 10 and a half last year. And obviously Si got fired a little more than a year ago at this point last year. Three sacks this year. He is a good player, has a good motor. He’d be under contract for potentially two more years if you exercise his fifth year option. But because of that, he could be a young building block who the Jets want to keep. Whereas Germaine Johnson going to be a free agent after this year, I believe. Soulless, what about going after Max Crosby now? He would be a dream target for me. He’d be number one ahead of Troy Hendrickson. Max Crosby’s the better player. He’s the younger player. He would be the perfect niner. Loves the game of football. Plays the game the right way. Always gives it 110%. Empties the gas tank, plays with so much hustle, plays with so much toughness, plays with so much swagger, never gives up uh on a play. I mean, he has this relentless pursuit to be great, both as an athlete, but when he gets in between the lines on any given snap. But the Raiders have told him, “We’re not trading you.” Max Crosby has told the Raiders, “I’m fine with being here. I personally don’t want to see him waste his career with an awful organization, but if he wants to go down as a Raider, great. That’s fine. Respect to him.” Gabriel Barios $2 super chat. You think Fred Warner can be back for later in the playoffs? I highly doubt it. I think the only reason that that would be a possibility is if San Francisco made it to the Super Bowl, which would be crazy. I mean, can you imagine the Niners make it to Super Bowl 60, it’s at Levi Stadium, and Fred Warner, who got hurt against the Bucks, makes his return and comes out of the tunnel at the sight of the Super Bowl, playing for the NerS in front of a lot of Niner fans at home. That would be crazy. Just don’t see it happening. We can dream though. Ricardo, hey Chase, do you think the Niners should trade for offensive linemen? I mean, that would be ideal, but offensive linemen are very hard to be had at the NFL trade deadline because even bad teams value offensive linemen. So, I think what’s going to happen with the Niners, they could get Ben Bart back at left guard. He’s going to help and be a little bit better than Connor Colby, although Ben Bart has always been injured throughout his career. For the 2026 draft though, I want to see San Francisco go allin on offensive line. Now, they probably won’t do it because they don’t value offensive linemen enough, but that’s what they should do. Trent Williams old, showing his age. They don’t have a left guard. They don’t have a good enough center. And hopefully Dominic Pony can improve as he gets healthier. It’s good to be right. Jamie Wyatt, will the Niners trade for a quarterback? I know a lot of people have been down on Ronaldo Green this year. Obviously, his play has been up and down. As far as giving up catches and receiving yards, he’s been pretty good. As far as some of the other things, there’s no doubt he struggled a little bit. Um, I think the Niners want to see him grow. They love Demodor Lenor has been one of the top shutdown corners in the NFL. They have upped Stout in the slot who they really like. He’s had some good moments. He’s had some bad moments. Obviously, that’s going to happen with some rookie players. I don’t see cornerback as being a move that the NerS make. N8 Balden Chase. Why do you think the 49ers haven’t reached out to John Feliciano about our guard injuries and our troubles? Probably because he had that knee injury last year, couldn’t get healthy and they have concerns about that. Also an older player. I will say in 2023 he stepped in and he played some really good football at both guard spots. He can also play center. He’s done that in his career. He has said, “Look, John Lynch, I’m a call away.” and he said to a question, “Hey, John, why did you retire?” Um, he had said, “Look, I retired because I couldn’t get my knee right.” But it seems as though he’d be interested in coming back, but he’s an older player, has injury history with San Francisco, and I think they’re just not going to go that route. I man report. I think Miami is the Ner’s best trade partner without them or with them, excuse me, about to have a fire sale. So, I’m recording the show on Thursday and the Dolphins play the Baltimore Ravens tonight. They have two wins on the year. They’ve beaten the Atlanta Falcons. They beat the New York Jets. If the Dolphins lose badly to Baltimore, they could go into cell mode. And that game on Thursday night is going to determine a lot as far as which players could be available both for Baltimore, both for Miami, but what players on those teams could give up or what players on those teams could be available in a trade. So basically what other teams could do in targeting their players. So I agree Dolphins are a prime team to look at at defensive end specifically. You have Jaylen Phillips and you have Bradley Chub. Um, for teams that need safety help, Ma Fitzpatrick would be fascinating. Zeer, how is Ben Bart looking in terms of his injury? The Niners open up his practice window, so he can come back at any point. They have three weeks in order to activate him. And so, he’s an upgrade over Connor KBY at this point of their respective careers. But the thing with Bartch always hurt Dev. You think the Niners could make a pitch at Kair White if the Titans are willing to trade potentially? And I like Ka Zero White. He’s been a tackling machine. He’s had multiple 100 plus tackle seasons over the last few years. Um, obviously the Titans are horrendous. They only have one win this year. They’re in line to get that number one pick. And a veteran on an expiring deal who’s very cheap at linebacker could peak the Ner’s interest if they don’t believe in their young players there. Boxing fan $5 super chat. Who’s a realistic offensive tackle who could fall to them? You also don’t want to draft one just because you need one top offensive tackle. They’re not diamonds and they’re rough. Yeah. So, what I want the Niners to do, they’ve said, “We prioritize early picks, skilled players, late picks, offensive linemen.” Well, you haven’t hit on this late round offensive lineman. So, look, I’m in the thick of the NFL season. I watch college football every single Saturday. Um, as far as like scouting and doing deep dives on prospects, I’m not really there yet. As far as offensive tackles, but let’s take a look at some of the top offensive tackles on the 2026 ESPN big board. Spencer Feno, Utah. Francis Moyaga, Miami. Kaden Proctor, Alabama, although his tape’s iffy. I know that. Caleb Lomu, Utah, Utah. Uh, Jennings Dunker, Iowa. Caleb Tieran, Northwestern. Trevor Gooseby, Texas. Isaiah World, Oregon. So, those are the top players right now at offensive tackle. Leon San Castle, what’s up, legend? Eric Kendricks has been visiting teams. Is that bridge burned or is he an option? It’s funny because he signed the deal verbally or I guess didn’t sign it. He agreed to a deal verbally to use the right verbiage with the Niners last year and then he ended up spurning the Niners, went to the Dallas Cowboys, didn’t play poorly, and then that left the Niners with Devonte Campbell and obviously that ended up being a disaster. I don’t think the bridge is burned, right? I mean, that was last year. Yeah, the Niners thought that they were going to bring him in. He signed with Dallas, had a solid year. He’s at the end of the of the road as far as his professional football career, but you’re looking for somebody to potentially help you right now. And if you think Eric Hendrickx can help you right now, who cares about the situation that happened last year? All right, who you got in this football game coming up on Sunday? Another EDGE would be nice. Mebbe Mebbe Mebbe aNOTHER dt.
<—Niners fan since 1965
I would rather go get that MLB from the Bengals than Hendrickson….we really need someone who can run our Defense……He would add to the two DE’s we just picked up. We really really need another cover CB….if we pick up a starting MLB and a starting CB we could be okay for a while to make a run.
Thanks!
Any chance we could get Antwuan Powell-Ryland off Philadelphia's practice squad to get a better pass rush
Truth is Mac Jones' & CMC's supporting cast has been awful. Poor pass protection, mediocre run-blocking and countless missed blocks & dropped passes at critical times. It's a miracle they are 5-3. They could easily be 0-8. The game against Houston was UGLY. F_____ UGLY!
I like everything that the 49ers are trying to do the playoff super bowl keeps your job
LET'S GO RED N GOLD 💪
