The Eagles made ANOTHER unexpected move but the aftermath is WILD…

Okay, so the Eagles finally made a trade. However, it’s for a quarterback that left quite a few mixed emotions. Although, honestly, it’s the implications for that move that are wild. In this video, I’ll break down just how Michael Carter fits into Fio’s defense and how that affects Cooper to Gene, plus the latest updates around the league and why Roseman might be gearing up for a bigger move at Edge. So, let’s talk about that and everything else around the birds. But first, let’s run it. feel like. What’s up, guys? Do me a favor, drop a like on this video because Howie Roseman finally made a trade as it was announced that he acquired Jets slot quarterback Michael Carter II and New York’s 2027 7th round pick in exchange for giving up wide receiver John Mechy and Philadelphia’s 2027 sixth round pick. Can’t exactly say that was a big league move. Okay. No, it wasn’t. And quite honestly, I can understand the let down that a lot of people have coming away from this move. However, the possible implications for this type of trade are wild, especially when you hear MC2 is pretty much strictly a slot corner with 85% of his career snaps in the slot. Of course, in 65 games played, the former fifth round pick in 2021 has logged 25 starts. And although he hasn’t lived up to it this season, Carter does have a track record of a lot of promise inside. As the 26-year-old quarterback has two interceptions to go with his 26 passes defended and an 83.4 4 passer rating when targeted. FYI, that number there is pretty good. It’s just the recent sample size of this season has him at a 109.7 passer rating allowed. And that’s the big question of this move. Which player are you getting? By the way, it’s totally fair to think injuries to his back, shoulder, and also a concussion have affected Carter’s play because like I mentioned, he showed a lot of promise in his first couple seasons. In fact, so much so that former GM Joe Douglas gave him a three-year $30 million extension. Yeah, that’s right. the same guy who is now back in an assistant role to Howy Roseman. Now, who’s to say if this pays massive dividends, but it does speak a lot or speaks volumes to the fact that Joe Douglas was willing to at one point, not that long ago, one year ago, pay Michael Carter a $30 million extension. Although, the flip side of that argument is naturally with the birds making a trade for a slot corner. I can’t fault anyone for starting to imply or wonder if that means Cooper to Gene is moving outside. Cooper, if if he has the skill set to be one of the top two corners, what makes you want to keep him in the slot? Is it is it because he’s so exceptional in that role? Did you consider having him full-time on the outside? We considered it. Yeah. But, you know, when you have one of the better players at a certain position and it’s an important position where you get involved more, um, you hate to take a really good player at one position to maybe not be as good a player or impactful of a player at another position, but it’s definitely something that we’ve talked about. Is the school of thought that it’s it’s easier to find a slot than an outside owner. Is that incorrect? Um, that might not No, that might be correct, but we haven’t solved that here yet. By the way, that was about 24 hours before Philly made the trade for MC2 for what Vic Fangio said there. Now, personally, I still think it means Coopa is playing in the nickel spot. And NFL insider James Palmer agrees, saying his understanding is that Carter will provide more overall versatility to the secondary, but more so in a depth position than kicking Deji to the outside. Because again, Coupe is way too good in the slot to make him play predominantly on the outside or at least for this season. But for next year, I mean, who knows? The beauty is you’re not in a rush anyway because Carter signed through the 2027 season. So, it’s not like I mean, look, if he comes in here, he plays well, great. If he doesn’t, you still have him for another season to develop, which is what Fangio’s talked about, regardless if it’s an edge, corner, whoever on his defense. You need them here long term to get fully acclimated. So, yeah, if and when he can stay healthy, Carter has the chance to really fight for that spot down the road. Also, in terms of the character and locker room vibes, one, Joe Douglas knows what kind of player how he’s getting, so he could speak to that. And two, Carter wanted to join the Eagles so badly that, get this, he actually agreed to delete his $5 million guaranteed injury clause for this season just to help get the deal done. I feel better already. I like the move. Is it a blockbuster one that most of us wanted? No. But at the same time, it’s basically zero risk involved. Seriously, it’s a win-win because yeah, you gave up John Mechy, but the Eagles weren’t going to use him anyway. If anything, credit to Darius Cooper for taking over there, making the decision easy for Howy to trade and add some depth at a position of need. Having said that, I do want to caution everyone again to not overreact if we don’t see MC2 for the first couple weeks. Like I said, it takes time to acclimate to Vic Fangio’s defense. Plus, just about everyone, myself included, felt like the Tank Bsby trade was a huge swing and a miss by Howie up until about a week ago. Yet, all it took was one insane outing to change the narrative and call that move a win. Oh, speaking of win, uh, congrats to Philly Rocks or aka Philly Mark for winning the ticket giveaway via the randomized spinner following the Eagles win last week. Mark, just need to hear back from you. So, email me or DM me on one of the socials so that I can confirm it’s you and get the tickets to you. Now, for everybody else, go ahead and leave a comment in this video because if Mark does not claim them, then I’m going to pick one person from this video to win those tickets. Last week, Donald took a little bit, but I did hear back from Donald. Mark, you’re on the clock. You got one week. If I don’t hear from you, somebody in the comments is getting those. Feel free to let Mark know which game you should go to or maybe which game you would choose if you get those tickets. Come on. The Eagles Bears Black Friday game is definitely getting a little more hype. Not only because the speculation is that the birds will go with their all black uniforms, but also because CJ Garner Johnson will be returning to Philly. Yep. Believe it or not, the Chicago Bears recently added him to their roster. And the rumored strategy is that they’re going to play CJ in the slot. And naturally, that did stir up some conversation of, you know, should the Eagles have brought back CJ Garner Johnson instead of Michael Carter because, you know, the slot element there should CJ been it’s an argument for another day. Feel free to weigh in on that. I I believe that Michael Carter for a number of reasons like I’ve said a number of different times is a better move than CJ Garner Johnson coming back here, but he’ll be returning to Philly for the Chicago game, like I said. Nonetheless, we’ll talk about that later. The most important implications this weekend with the Eagles on a buy are a couple different NFL games to keep your eye on. For instance, Anthony Deona reminded a couple things in that tonight’s Dolphins Ravens contest could have a huge impact on this year’s trade deadline since whichever team loses will have just two wins and pretty likely be sellers of the trade deadline. Or, you know, at least if it’s Miami because it certainly feels that way given their division standings. Plus, shout out to the Ant-Man, but he already called the Eagles trade for Michael Carter weeks ago with the second part of his prediction being Miami’s Bradley Chub. How does he know? It’s uncanny. It’s uncanny how many times Anony’s predictions come true. So, I mean, yeah, it’s probably more likely than not that Chub ends up an Eagle. Either way, they’re getting closer to moving edge. Granted, it’s not just the Dolphins who could be sellers. Heck, if Cincinnati loses to the Bears, then maybe those of you who keep saying Trey Hendrickson get your shot. Personally, I’m not of that mindset, but I suppose crazier things have happened. You’ve also got the Titans, Giants, and Saints as viable options as well. So, keep your eye on how those games play out because Monday or Tuesday has some potential to be the move for the edge we wanted. But before I get to the potential options there that make sense, make sure to sign up with Underdog for this weekend. Because right now, as one of the official season long sponsors, you can get $100 in bonus funds when you play $5 and get additional gimme picks. All you got to do is scan the QR code there on your top right and use code Philly special or click the link in the description. Also, we’re currently in Bootober, meaning underdog is giving out boosted payouts every single day. Plus, with the NFL action and deadline heating up, there’s all kinds of other boosts you can take advantage of. So, here’s what I’m doing. Even though the Eagles don’t play this weekend, there’s a couple plays that I really like. And I’m going with Josh Allen to rush for more than 36 yards against Kansas City. Meanwhile, with the focus on Rashi Rice, I think Xavier Worthy will go higher than 45 receiving yards. And then for my third pick, I’m taking Jaden Daniels to throw at least two touchdown passes. Kind of risky, I know, especially with Terry McLaren out after reinjuring his quad last week. But at three and five in their backs against the wall, I think Jaden does all he can to try to keep the commies in it. By the way, I still think they lose, but they’ll be trailing, so at least, you know, he’ll be throwing it. Anyway, feel free to let me know what you think about those plays. In the meantime, make sure to get signed up. Scan the QR code. Use code Philly special. $5 gets you $100 in bonus funds. Give me pics. Crazy boost to end the month. get signed up. All right, quarterback doesn’t feel as likely anymore with Howy, but there’s still a need on the D line, which is why I had Eagles writer Anthony Dabona on earlier this week to discuss potential legit options Philly could consider. Yeah, I’ve said this even before the Brandon Graham like coming out of retirement and Nolan Smith coming back. still thinking that edge should be more of a priority over cornerback because I mean all all along I’ve been a little bit more confident in Adori Jackson than than most people but also the fact that Vic Fangio kind of spoke relatively highly of Jakorian Bennett because he was saying like listen like he showed flashes but I didn’t I didn’t still get my full evaluation of him. So, the fact that it seems like he’s going to be healthy coming out of the by-week and Keel Ringo, he’s had a couple rough showings, but he bounced back this week where he didn’t let Darius Sllayton or Wendell Robinson, they were targeted, each targeted at least once against him, didn’t allow a single completion. So, obviously not the greatest caliber of opponent and then wide receiver that he went against, but it’s better than the performance he had against them the first time around. So, I I’m personally more comfortable with the quarterback room. I also just feel like if you’re going to add somebody in the middle of the season, if you just look at the way Vic Angel’s defense is structured, it seems like the quarterbacks need more time than the edge rushers to get acclimated and then to play right away because we saw a guy like Jix Hunt play a lot sooner than than we expected as a rookie. And he was not even not only was he new to Vic Fanio’s scheme, he was new to playing the position. So now if you’re bringing in a guy from another team like an edge rusher, there are plenty of guys that we’re going to get into that have experience playing under Vic Fanio, but also just you’re being able you don’t have to give those guys a ton of snaps. They can play 10, 15 snaps, rotate in along with all these other guys and give you that help as well. So there are people that say, “Oh, these guys are starters elsewhere. Why would they want to come to Philadelphia and be a backup?” But a lot of these guys are on terrible teams right now. Maybe they just want to play on a on a team that’s competing for a potential Super Bowl run. So, and and plus they don’t really have a choice because they would be getting trade. It’s not it’s traded. It’s not the NBA where they have no trade clauses. They’re like at least these at least these players don’t have no trade clauses. So, also one more thing I want to touch on because I see a lot of people saying like, “Oh, the Eagles have 10 picks to trade. Like, they can just trade.” Technically, they only have seven that they can trade right now because the other three are compensatory picks. So right now the picks that they can trade are their own first round pick, their own second round pick, their own third round pick. They have the third round pick from the Jets, their own fourth, a fifth round pick that’s conditional from the 49ers, which could become a fourth round pick depending on how many sacks uh if Bryce Huff ends up getting eight sacks or not, and then the sixth round pick from the Vikings. So those are the picks that they can trade right away ahead of the trade deadline. And then they’re scheduled to get a third round pick for Milton Williams, a fourth round pick for Josh Sweat, and a fifth round pick for Mai Mai Beckton for the compensatory picks in the 2026 draft. So, lots of of ammunition, which you know, I mean, it can go both ways. It’s like, okay, they can’t technically trade them like you say, but if Howie Roseman knows in the back of his mind, okay, we we’ve got some of these, then, you know, trade away some of theirs, keep the compensatory picks. Um, still a lot of different potentials for what he could throw out there. Uh, and I like what you said, you know, the cornerback spot, the differences of how long it takes to acclimate. Heck, we’ve seen the same thing for Jakoran Bennett. Big FO has admitted same thing for him, too. Like, if you’re not a believer of Dory Jackson or Keely Ringo, I totally understand that, which we’ve gotten lots of those comments. Jacoran was traded for towards the very end of training camp or or, you know, right at the end of of preseason and it took him a good bit of time to still get acclimated and even like very remotely trusted. But yet, Fangio himself has said, “Yeah, well, he hasn’t gotten in enough time. We haven’t we haven’t seen for sure yet. We’re kind of getting there.” And you wonder if he’s going to get a chance against Green Bay or if you know, like we’ve seen, Keely’s bounced back and forth in favor, out of favor, in favor, out of favor. So maybe he does, but it did seem to take quite a bit of time. And you even think back to Cooper Dean, I know rookie and kind of a little bit of a differences there, but he was even dealing with the injury. Once he came back, Fangio was not quite ready. He’s like, “Well, he hasn’t gotten into practices. Like, we need to get in practices.” It wasn’t until after the bye-week and then finally getting him to play, which, you know, hindsight being 2020, you see that, you’re like, where was this guy? Like, why wasn’t he out there before? But it it does take some time. And I think you’re right, even more so with the quarterback spot. So, with that being said, edge rusher andor interior defensive line, if we kind of narrow it down, narrow it down to defensive line help. Is there do you think a more likelihood because you don’t want to take too many snaps away from Jaylen? You don’t want to take too many snaps away from Nolan Smith. Do they still make a move for an edge rusher? And I guess if so, is it uh I don’t I don’t know how to phrase it necessarily, but like a a lesser, you know, not like a a big blockbuster move. Yeah. So, let me just get my scroll out of all the edge rushers. Here we go. That are apparently in trades. I mean, that’s another reason why I’m also saying they should target an edge rusher over a quarterback. It just seems like there’s so many more players available and just better players overall because I mean we’ll probably get into quarterback but the names there aren’t necessarily as enticing as some of the names at Edge. And I feel like you have to start with there’s three guys that have experience under Vic Fangio. Two of them have multiple years of experience playing under Vic Fangio and the first one and that’s Draymond Jones. He’s he’s currently on the Titans. He actually played under Clint Hurt in Seattle and then he was playing under Fangio in Denver for several years and now he’s potentially available. We’ve seen the Titans already trade Roger McCra for just a late day three pick swap. So it seemed like they’re going to be sellers at the deadline and he feels like a player that when he was cut in the offseason I said he would fit perfectly along the the Eagles. Like if you look especially bringing the table for quite a bit for Draymond Jones. I remember I think I sent Josh like three screenshots of tweets from like May when he was first cut and I mean he was available for like maybe like a week before he was scooped up by the Titans. Unfortunately, he signed the one-year deal with them, but I was very hopeful for those couple days because of the connection with Vic Fanjo and Clint Hurt because he has that inside outside versatility that you mentioned where he can you you could even if just if you just search his name, there are some sites that have him listed as an as as a defensive end, some that have him as an outside linebacker, some that have him as a defensive tackle. But that’s what he can do. He can literally play. He’s a bigger guy on the edge, but he could also slide inside and play, which we’ve seen the Eagles do at times with Jaylen Carter where they have him all of a sudden he’s way outside the tackle, then sometimes he’s inside, especially with all these stunts they’ve been running and having a lot of success with lately. Like he would help a ton with that with his size. So, he’s probably the top target on my list just given that he has that experience, but also that positional versatility. And then the other two guys I feel like we’ve talked about so much, but they’re both in the Dolphins. Jaylen Phillips who’s more of the younger like like I guess the the the better more higher upside like longterm but he’s only he’s on the final year of his deal and that’s Jaylen Phillips side like I said he’s battled a ton of injuries but when he is healthy he looked like he was going to have a career year in that one season with thick Vanjo in 2023 but on the flip side you could go with a safer veteran and Bradley Chub who’s a little bit older has more production but doesn’t necessarily have the same upside if you’re going to sign him to a contract extension because he does have some years remaining on his contract, but I don’t think he has any remaining guaranteed money because of the restructure that he did with the Dolphins. So, those three are the names that I would really focus on because of their experience, but there are I literally have five other names here and I don’t want you I don’t know if you want me to rattle them all off, but I mean there’s just so many possibilities with this edge market there. Yeah, there are a ton of names. Um I am curious. I may have you run through those here in a second, but but I I agree with you. We talked about this going back and forth again to the extent of maybe you get someone who’s more versatile. And I was texting you. I’m like, it just feels like Jaylen Phillips, which which I’m I’m holding to. It feels like Jaylen Phillips is the most likely um c certainly for edge rusher. But you did make a great point. You’re kind of alluding to it here as well, but you did make a great point as we’re texting back and forth. It’s like the way things have shaped up now. And if you’re getting Nolan Smith back and BG and all these other guys that are, you know, going to be making some plays, it might behoove you to go with the guy who’s got more of the versatility like a Draymond Jones who can play at both both of those spots or or multiple spots because you’ve got Jaylen Carter. Sure, you got Jordan Davis, you got Moro Jomo, but then that that fourth guy in the rotation there, it it’s kind of been it’s kind of been hit or miss. I mean, I know Byron Youngs had made some plays, you’ve had instances, but it’s kind of been a hit or miss for that other guy. Yeah. And Ty Robinson has been relatively like underwhelming. He’s shown a few flashes, but just hasn’t really played enough to kind of establish itself. It doesn’t seem like Vic Fanjo really wants him to play too much right now. But a name that also like kind of fits that Draymond Jones mold. This is maybe more of an interior guy, but I don’t want to take any credit from Jimmy Kempky because he had proposed the idea in his article, but old man Kas Campbell is still out there balling. And apparently both I think there was a report that both the Chiefs and the Eagles were interested in signing him this offseason, but obviously he he didn’t sign with either team, but if he is available, he’s another guy and maybe he is just at the point where he’s chasing a ring in his career and he he wants to get traded and they’re going to like do do better by him. But he’s another guy that it feels like for probably over a decade now people have been wanting to see him on the Eagles or some some like some iteration of him with we talked about I I remember we had a specific stream where we talked about him the same thing you know it’s like there he is he’s out there he’s available and and and yeah I mentioned it uh in in a recent video also but it’s like the the Eagles and Chiefs wanted him. He has said in the past that he’s trying to win a championship. I don’t know necessarily why you would choose Jonathan Ganon over the Eagles or the Chiefs. Uh but you know that that’s where he’s from, right? Or that’s where he’s got his his house and all. So like, okay, I I get that. But um maybe little second thought later part of the season now. You know, he’s only got to play half the amount of games away from home and and uh move out there, get a championship ring possibility. So I I wouldn’t mind that as just, you know, another veteran presence in the room. Um, but but like you say there, there’s just a plethora of options. So, you might as well like your your list. You might as well run through some of the other guys to see. Should I do it in like in an auction voice? Here we go. This guy. Here’s the chances of possibility. Next one’s going to be another popular name that I feel like a lot of people have talked about and I’ve hyped him up on Twitter as well. I don’t know if he’s actually going to be traded, but Germaine Johnson from the Jets played at Georgia with a couple of current Eagles players, was obviously drafted by Joe Douglas in that great like first round that that trio that he drafted. So, he w didn’t sign an extension unlike the other two, but I mean, he would just fit so well. I feel like because he is under contract, they picked up his fifth year option. So, you would be getting the player not it wouldn’t just be a one-year rental for eight games or in the playoffs or whatever it is. you’re going to be getting him for next season two, which is huge because right now you only have Jay Hunt and Nolan Smith as far as guys on the edge that are under contract beyond this season. So now if you’re just adding Germaine Johnson into that mix, you have those three guaranteed for next season, that would be a phenomenal situation to be in. But beyond that, I mean, Carl Grannerson on the Saints is another kind of bigger bodied guy. He’s been super productive this year, but because they’re so bad and because they gave Chase Young that contract, does he possibly become available? He was he would be a name that I would find intriguing. Kavon Tibido, a guy that we talked about already who the Eagles hosted on the top 30 visit. I don’t think the Giants would ever trade him to the Eagles, but if they did, I would uh greatly appreciate that because I think he’s a damn good player. Very much so. Uh another guy that the Eagles hosted on the top 30 visit, Arnold Ebiki on the Falcons, who we’ve talked about before, but he’s kind of been lost in the shuffle because they added those two young pass rushers. So, is he maybe the odd man out in Atlanta and could potentially get moved? And then lastly, the other guy in Tennessee, and that’s Ardan Key, who’s potentially available. He’s been mentioned. He’s he’s younger than Draymond Jones, but he feels like he’s always been that guy like he has this upside, but hasn’t necessarily reached it, but he has shown flashes. So, which might be the perfect kind of rotational guy to bring in where you’re not relying on him to play 30, 40 snaps. He can come in and play kind of that Bryce Huff role that obviously he failed at last year, but you just bring him in on situational pass rushing downs or he can just be that mixup guy, play five to 15 snaps, something like that in that range. So yeah, I mean, like I said, eight names right there and there’s probably more that I missed. I mean, if you want to throw in a Trey Hendrickson, but I feel like we’ve talked about those guys so much and I don’t think he’s actually going to be available, especially with all the injuries that he’s dealt with recently. But yeah, the like I said, I could literally probably rattle off 20 different names on the edge that would intrigue me for the Eagles. It’s non-stop. You’re right. Um and and we won’t because as you said there, Trey Hendrickson, Max Crosby, heck, Miles Garrett, people have thrown out there, Trayvon Walker. It’s just it’s not going to be a big blockbuster move of of those names, right? Like, and and I’ll say this, too, 0.0% chance. So, now we’ve thrown that out there. There’s a possibility that it’ll happen. And if it does, then you know, we’ll take credit for jinxing it in the the reverse jinx, but it it does not feel like they’re going to that far to the extreme. I know it was earlier in the offseason that that was the case, but I think you and I have talked about it. There’s there’s a difference of acquiring a player like that in the offseason. Fangio has made reference to it before as well, but there’s a difference of acquiring a player like that in the offseason to give them time to acclimate versus going, “Hey, we’re going to, you know, trade away a lot of assets, whether it’s draft capital, players, combo, whatever. Trade away a lot there to rent a player that yes, they’re really good, but when it comes to an edge player, I mean, how long are we getting them for like half a season?” I mean, if he gets you a Super Bowl, sure, everyone’s going to sign up for that, but I but Spangio himself is like that’s not his preference. if you’re going to get someone, get me somebody who’s going to be here. Maybe they help us this year, but more so it’s we got them for this year and the next year, too, to kind of grow into the system. So, that’s where I I I just don’t see that combined with you’re they’re eventually going to have to get Jaylen Carter’s deal done. They’re going to have to get Nolan Smith here done. And it does come down to a certain amount of snaps. I understand that, you know, still there’s some some great guys there, but there is a whole lot of belief. Fangio’s first one of his his first pass rusher, right? I mean, one of his first, but his first pass rusher that he drafted that he handpicked was Jix Hunt. So, you know, there’s some affinity for that. You hear it in every press conference, you know, like you can’t help but tell he is incredibly high on Jix’s ability and he’s still pushing him cuz he’s like, he’s not there yet. He’s getting better, you know, but you can tell how much he appreciates that. So, if Vic and Howie, which I got to imagine they’re having these conversations like, “Oh, hey, where we at? What do we Fio doesn’t want to take away snaps to where all of a sudden it’s like, “Hey, Jaylen’s got 10 snaps this game, right?” Like that there’s the belief there. The pressures are there, too. And so, I think that it’s like, “Hey, we’re close. We could probably add another body as far as the edge rusher goes.” But I don’t think, and maybe I’m wrong. I’ll admit if I am, but I don’t think that there’s a a big blockbuster trade for an edge that’s coming. Yeah. I just don’t I don’t see it happening. Not only because of like you mentioned just like the midseason of it all like that’s usually it seems like if a team is going to take that gamble. It’s like they’re really desperate where they have like no talent at that position and they’re like a Super Bowl contend like you saw the Rams do a couple years ago when they they traded for Von Miller and it worked out. But a lot of times those these mid-season trades to be completely honest they usually don’t work out. A lot of the times those teams regret that move and that’s why maybe you’re seeing teams be a little bit more conservative this time around where all of the recent trades that we’ve seen have been just late day three pick swaps. I mean Roger McCra was traded along with a 2026 sixth round pick to the Rams for a 2026 fifth round pick. Then today the Patriots made two deals. Yeah. Whereas Keon White who was a guy that was kind of in that same list that I that I just rattled off where he’s another young guy. He has shown promise. He actually has another year remaining on on his rookie deal. And he was traded along with a 2026 seventh round pick to the 49ers for a 2026 sixth round pick. Like these this it’s crazy to see these guys go at such little value. And that’s why I tweeted right away when the competition was reported that like if this is the asking price for these kind of inconsistent young players that are on their rookie deals, I could see how I think how is definitely going to make at least one trade. But you also have to realize with these rentals, you like if you think that you’re going to maximize this player’s potential in this second half of the season and a playoff run where all these games are nationally televised, now all of a sudden when that guy hits free agency in the offseason, even if you’re not going to resign him, maybe he signs for a decent contract somewhere else and now you’re getting a compensatory pick kind of like they did with with Mai Beckton last year. you if you trust in your building and your culture to get the best out of these guys. Now that that late picks off that you traded might turn into a fifth round pick in 2027 and that’s great value because you got this guy for that stretch run and now you’re essentially trading him for a pick two years down the road. So that’s also another thing to kind of think about when you’re thinking of these rentals is the competitor pick formula as well because sure the Eagles might spend some money next year but I think a lot of it’s going to be more so extending the guys that are already in the building as well. So they might still kind of like kind of walk that tight rope of maneuverings at certain times to avoid the compensatory pick formula and then waiting until after June 1st or whenever it is that they can sign players without impacting their compensatory picks. And you think about too uh kind of reminded me, but the the idea of a player coming in maybe not making a or having a great impact. It’s it’s not just the Eagles. It’s all over the place, you know, and you think about the Chiefs trading for and getting Josh Ushay. It did nothing. Like there was there was there was absolutely nothing. And you know, you could say like, has he been great this season? You know, probably not great, but he’s made some plays. I mean, he’s he’s been impactful. So, it’s not like he couldn’t have somehow gotten on the field a little bit and helped KC, but he just like, you know, in the in the Super Bowl was the healthy and active. And if you had gone back and asked the Chiefs, was that the plan when they traded for him? Absolutely not. You don’t you don’t make a move at the trade deadline like that and go, “Oh, we’re going to have a healthy and active here and him basically do nothing all season long.” You’re hoping to trade and get that guy on the field where it’s like, “Hey, he’s getting like, you know, a couple sacks for us, make some big plays in the playoffs.” It just didn’t happen. So, I’m I’m right there with you. Again, is not at the level of I’m not saying that for people, you know, he’s not Trey Hendrickson, Max. I get I get that. But to the extent of like going and making a blockbuster trade, getting one of these guys in here, I I I don’t a lot of those apparently are off the market anyway. But even if you wanted to, teams know you’re desperate and it’s going to be ridiculous. There you go. Which option makes the most sense to you out of the ones that we discussed? I’ll tell you one that’s not realistic, and that’s trading AJ Brown. Even though according to Matt Cooer, he said that his sources told him the Patriots recently made an offer of a second round pick in exchange for AJ Brown, but the Eagles declined the offer. First off, I’m not even sure if that’s a legit report because Matt is not a big prominent player in terms of any NFL insiders, anything like that. He’s got a podcast, which is Raise the Banner podcast, a thousand followers on Twitter. But this thing’s taking off and running like crazy now. People just seeing that and going, “Oh my gosh, the Eagles are trading AJ Brown are thinking about it.” But the other part that comes into play is that the dead cap would just be insane. Philly is not going to move on from AJ Brown ahead of the deadline. However, at this point, it wouldn’t surprise me if after in the off season, sure, then maybe you explore something, but that’s for another time and another day. Regardless, maybe this would actually be a good reason to hurry up and get done with the trade deadline because I’m sick and tired of talking about AJ Brown and potential trades or hypotheticals or everything else there. He’s staying for this season. And the Eagles have been much better recently on offense. And just imagine what he could do with the Eagles continuing to build on Kevin Pulo’s offense. Crossers, the digs, and again, if they’re going to lean in more into play action, I think there’s such big play potential here for AJ Brown, maybe make him happy. I don’t know. But it’s something that I think they have to do more again if they’re going to use Look, I’ve said it in the past. The by-week came at the perfect time. Reset. Take some time away. Get refocused. Figure it out. Whatever it is, the the the silence is deafening at this point, especially not hearing from AJ Brown. But I’m still 100% believing the Eagles are going to figure it out. AJ Brown’s going to figure it out. We’re going to be fine. Reminder, I’m out of town until next week. So, if it’s delayed, you don’t hear from me for a little bit. There was some breaking news. Probably won’t be able to get a video out. Maybe a breaking live if it’s just something absolutely crazy. But, I’m taking some time away. A little bit difficult to do it, but some family time on the by-week, a mini buy for us. But be back next week. See you guys then. Make sure to like and subscribe. Appreciate you as always. More giveaways to come. Till next time, this has been the Philly Special.

The Eagles did finally make a move for a CB by trading for Michael Carter II from the Jets. However, it’s the aftermath of that trade that has led to some pretty wild implications and rumors. Like the idea that the Patriots have offered a trade for AJ Brown? In this video, I’ll break down all of the latest moves, look at what’s next for Philadelphia, and discuss the impact trading for a corner will have on Cooper DeJean. Plus, Eagles Writer Anthony DiBona joins to offer several different options that Howie Roseman could trade for at Edge Rusher.

  1. As a birds fan in Chicago, I’m trying to bring my wife to her first nfl game and we’re trying to go to the game in Green Bay, let’s make it happen! GO BIRDS!

  2. There's always going to be noise in the locker room. No locker room is perfect. The trade is whatever when we could have gotten CJGJ and his physical play for free. Just makes no sense. We all remember CJGJ speech that was posted that helped inspire the team to prep for the Superbowl. Just saying
    Fly Eagles Fly 🦅🦅🦅
