Buffalo Bills wide receiver Keon Coleman responds to Steve Smith Jr.’s criticism

Well, greetings from inside the Bills practice facility everybody. I’m Dom Tibbitz and we are just three days away from kickoff between what seems like an annual rivalry matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Buffalo Bills set for another instant classic over at Highark Stadium. Now, we talk a lot about the offenses, right? Josh Allen, Patrick Mahomes, two MVPs going at each other. But one element for the Chiefs that has always stood the test of time in this growing rivalry is their defense. The playmakers on it like Chris Jones and George Caroftus and cornerback Trent McDuffy. All coached by Steve Spagnola, who has been one of the best and most consistent defensive coordinators around the NFL. So, the challenge for this Bill’s offense will once again be trying to find different ways to beat this Chief’s defense that is known for their consistency. He’s he’s one of the best in the business, if not the best in the business. Um, you know, shows you a lot of different looks and uh he knows how to call a football game, that’s for sure. Constantly it seems like there’s some people who do it in certain situations. Spags does it all the time. And uh and so our our level of communication uh is is um is the first step for us in order for us to execute because like I said, he he does a really good job with with uh moving Chris Jones around. Overall, I enjoy playing against great players. Chris Jones is one of those players that plays the game the right way and uh he’s a good competitor. You know, he’s always true. Like he doesn’t try any extra. He’s just between the whistles and he plays hard, you know, when he wants. Now, flipping to the other side of the ball for the Bills, we did speak to secondyear wide receiver Keon Coleman and asked for his response for these comments. Former NFL wide receiver Steve Smith Jr. said on a recent podcast, “You can’t teach a dog how to bark. You either got it or you don’t. Can he be a dog? I don’t know.” When speaking with reporters, Coleman doubled down on his no comment response, but added that the way he has felt like he’s handled the adversity this season has been up to his standards. I don’t even really know what he said, but you know what I’m saying? So that’s why I said no comment. Okay. But yeah, I mean, I feel like handled things pretty good. The ups and downs of it, uh, so just being a professional, so feel pretty confident about how I handle that. So we’ll see if this adds a little bit of fire to Keon Coleman’s game when the Bills and Chiefs kickoff at 4:25 on Sunday at Highark Stadium. And one injury note I want to get to before we leave. Wide receiver Joshua Palmer was at practice for the first time since suffering a knee and ankle injury back in that Monday night game in Atlanta. So a good sign to see moving forward. No telling if he is going to suit up Sunday, but just seeing him out on the practice field again is a very positive sign. Reporting from the Bills practice facility, Dom Tibbitz, 7 Sports.

  1. We tried Davis white and Poyer ..
We also tried MCD as DC …
None of the above worked then …
    Even worse now …
With them, the team has gotten slower and older ..
    The Klein effect …
Bills lucky to make playoffs …
Unless Josh becomes a magician …
He’s real bad this year …
    So outlook is gloomy

  2. Smith said it like it is ….
    Coleman ain’t got it …
It shows when u got it …
And it hasn’t shown in 2 years …
So I agree with smith , although I said that same thing last year …
Coleman started playing football late in life … he doesn’t know the game or how to play WR …
He’s missed too many years …

  3. MCD does not know talent … nor can he call the proper defense … we are lost … this is the end of the bills of this age …
Time to rebuild , starting from coaching…
I wish I am wrong …. But, history proves otherwise

  4. I'd find it funny if Keon is just thinking "Idk what he said but I gotta do more" and then just catches 12 passes for 140 yards and 2 TDs on sunday lol.

Joking aside, I personally love what Keon has been able to show this last season and a half and really want him to succeed. GO BILLS!!!

  5. I feel like Allen might be injured or he’s no longer confident he has the pieces to win in Buffalo, not sure why those are the options but that’s where my thoughts go lol
