Josh Minott at LOSS FOR WORDS over Garden Crowd | Celtics vs Cavs Postgame
Josh, I know you talked about it before decision, the conscious decision to just go get a rebound. Joe just said it like you guys have to wake up and make that choice. Was there any shift or message change from the first three games to these last two? Cuz it looks like there’s been like a pretty significant improvement. Um say just as a team, you know, we just turned that switch on. Um you know, collectively we’re all trying to make sure our, you know, man doesn’t get it and then after that it’s like a team effort to make sure like, okay, now my man doesn’t have it. Now it’s like which one of us is going to go get it, you know? So, um, I mean, it’s just a collective effort on the rebounding, for sure. Josh, this is your first time experiencing a win at TD Garden as a member of the Celtics. What was it like walking out of the tunnel afterwards? What was that feeling like? I can’t even can’t even explain it, man. Like, just thanking God, thanking the fans, um, just for the energy. I mean, it’s like, you know, my teammates, you know, everyone just everyone here associated with Boston just empowers me. Um, it’s just just a blessing to be here truthfully. Um, I mean from the coaching staff to the training staff to the equipment managers, teammates, you know, it’s just like everyone just helps me to be the person I’m trying to be. You felt about the three-point shot so far? Is that something you tinkered with over the summer at all? And where do you feel like you’re at with it? Um, really just getting repetitions. Um, I’m just trying to hit an above break three on time, bro. Um, I don’t mind the corner ones, but um, yeah. Yeah, I mean just over the summer just, you know, continue to just sharpen tools. Uh my three ball was definitely one of them. What works well you and Nei playing together. Um say just respecting space, you know, he’s seen as like a trigger to our offense. So he’s like initiating a lot of it. Um I’m seeing as just like um some of that can help to, you know, get our targets like, you know, JB in the middle. Um just continuing to space the floor, trying to get second chance opportunities. It’s a It’s a good little forgot the word for it, but like just a good like codependent relationship. Josh, what kind of things are are you looking for when you’re [Music] driving the ball? What what’s kind of going through your mind as you see a potential opportunity for it? A lot of it’s luck, you know, the way it bounces, but um I’d say as long as I’m not, you know, behind the backboard and out of bounds, I got the chance to get it. So, um, say it starts with that, just being on the top side and just praying God, you know, let it come my way. Joe said that you know the standard, what’s kind of expected of you. What is it been that process learning what the team wants from you and him especially coaching you probably pretty hard to to get there. Uh, when you really think about it, I mean, they’re not really asking for much. Um, just you doing my best to, you know, defend the other teams, you know, best player. um rebound, defend, and you know, space for an offense. And truthfully, I mean, after that, they see everything as like a plus. And I mean, and I’m just trying to hone in on what they expect out of me and uh, you know, just help my team to continue to look, you know, the best they can. Have you always seen the game that way where it’s like do all the simple things and everything’s okay? Or is that been something that you’ve kind of had to adjust to? Um, I mean, we were all stars in high school, you know, I mean, and I’d say most of us were stars in college. Um, so it’s like just coming here, you got to understand, you know, that not everybody’s going to be a star. So it’s just like I got no problem with that. You know what I mean? I’ll go, you know, make y’all look good. You know, just rebound, defend, you know, try and make the other teams, you know, you know, good players, you know, not look as good and uh, I’ll just continue to do what y’all do. I mean, just blessed to have a great group of guys around me and and y’all see it, man. They they good. Like they good at basketball. Josh, what’s it been like to play with Jaylen just as a teammate and a leader from what you’ve seen with him and like what’s he been like? I mean, it’s um I can’t compare it to, you know, last year’s Jaylen cuz I wasn’t here, but uh from what I’ve experienced, man, he’s definitely, you know, becoming so much more of a vocal leader. Um he’s someone it’s easy to listen to him, you know, cuz it’s like he speaks to you. He doesn’t speak too loud, you know, you kind of got to listen up, but um you know, he definitely uh definitely knows the right stuff. So, it’s been a pretty easy transition, you know, coming here because, you know, I got people like JB, D White, Payton, X, Sam, you know, they all, you know, in my ear, especially, you know, coming from a championship culture and, uh, they’ve kind of, you know, brought me up to speed with what they expect. You feel like you’ve kind of showed some flashes, you guys showed some flashes what you can do tonight? Um, tiny bit, tiny bit. Do you feel like you guys are starting to understand and get comfortable with the shorter stints, but you know, you have to go out there and leave it all on the floor and then he’ll come get you when someone else will. Um, I’d say so. Um, I think we’re just all uh, you know, bought into whatever strategy Joe has. You know, we just, uh, believe in him, trusting him, and, um, yeah, I mean, I’m just a player, man. You know, he got a way tougher job. Um, I won’t say that, but I don’t want to give too, you know, I don’t want to gas his head too much, but uh, yeah. Yeah. No, I mean, we’re just, you know, just vi in on, you know, the strategies Joe has each night and, um, whatever that looks like, you know, we’re just trying to go out there and execute it. You were saying kind of take a little while to get your footing with the way you’ve played, how fast you are, how intense you’re playing with threes. Like, have you felt that at all that like you’re getting used to shooting while playing that hard? It’s definitely an adjustment for sure. Um, just the workload and then like kind of got to like slow it down a little bit cuz defense, you know, like defensively you’re trying to speed them up, you know, rush them, make them uncomfortable. Now, offensively, it’s like you want to do the exact opposite. I’m kind of trying to like make that switch, you know, like don’t be so sporadic, you know, just like take a chill pill, understand like, you know, the offense has to flow, you know, like defense, you don’t want no flow, you know. So, um, so I’m just trying to make that switch, especially, you know, keeping my wind up, stuff like that. After you guys started the season 03, it feels like everybody was pretty, you know, com confident with where this team was headed despite the record. Uh, did you feel like there were a lot of good stretches that just weren’t resulting in wins and now kind of you’ve seen those stretches kind of have that outcome? Like is that how it felt internally? No, for a fact. Um, you know, like postgame, no one’s been holding their head down. I mean, we’ve all been, you know, together collectively. We understood that like, you know, it’s uh, it’s going to change for a lot of people on the team and, uh, we respected that, you know. I mean, we’re not going to put our head down and just give up on a season because we started off at three. I mean, it’s just like I said, man, the energy here is just like amazing, you know, like the entire locker room just bought into, you know, championship culture and uh I don’t think it’s dropped off from, you know, the year they won. Thanks Josh.

Josh Minott energy & hustle 💪🔥💪
Likable young man both humble and introspective. Hope you have a great year here in Boston. The first of many!
don't what happened before 2025, but someone dropped the ball on this kid. he's so intense and has great defensive instincts.
it's beginning to feel like Joe has figured out a starting five that works really well together, and "why not Minott?"
Don't understand why he didn't get minutes against the Knicks, he's an energy shifter forreal! Gotta find minutes first chris boucher too
Great game !You have the Celtic mentality looking forward to your success
why the hell did chris finch not have him playing any minutes
This kid is a keeper. I like Hugo too!
Some of these questions be funny, u go get reb because u need the ball in order to get pts weather it’s on def/off
Regardless of total wins this year, watching these guys develop is going to be a nice journey.
He will be a star in this league watch mark my words
amazing baller. And he is 22 years old!

Woii that was a good win! I am patiently waiting to see a starting lineup of PG: WHITE, SG: BROWN, SF: TATUM, PF: MINOTT CF: QUETA that's my starting lineup I'm praying to one day be extraordinary and bring banner #19. It shall be great with Payton, Afernee, Hugo, Sam, Luka/Chris and Baylor/ Xavier is the 12/13 guys I really want to see jell. That on JT return they can return to the very top of the NBA!
