Today’s episode, we’re going to talk about the things that are scaring the Dallas Mavericks or scaring Mavs fans right now. Klay Thompson and his fit and the runway that Jason Kid seems to be giving him is something that is a little a little scary. Some of the numbers are looking a little scary. Maybe we’ll talk about Cooper flag and there’s some numbers there. We’ll talk about that and maybe you’re scared of that situation. But let’s start here with Anthony Davis, Isaac Harris, because Anthony Davis went into the game on Wednesday with bilateral Achilles issues. knew some something was going on with his with his Achilles and bilateral means both of them. And so there was something going on with both of his Achilles. And don’t Google it. You’re going to get discouraged. And then and uh and of course I’d like to preface this all by saying I’m not a doctor, so I don’t know. But then he leaves the game, checks himself out of the game, is like kind of holding his Achilles, kind of holding the front of his leg. Like I don’t know what he was doing. Then he’s walked to the locker room on his own power. The Mavs initially said that he was questionable and then they decided that he was going to be out for the game. I was not surprised. Thought there’s no way he’s coming back in this game. I even texted the text line uh you know listeners and said, “Hey, there’s no way he’s coming back in this game.” I think you said the same thing. And now he’s out. And I did see that he did make the flight to Mexico City, which is the Mavs next game on Saturday night. And so he is with them and he is he did fly with the team. So that is notable. They have not put the injury report out that as far as I’ve seen that I’m as we’re recording this. So, we don’t know his status yet. Jason Kidd said that he’s fine and that he should be, you know, we’ll see what happens. Although, Anon Davis said he was fine after the Houston half last season and he had the abductor adductor strain and he missed like 20 games or something like that. And so, why is this scaring the Dallas Mavericks and should it scare the Dallas Mavericks fans? Oh, yeah. Of course it it should scare him. I mean, uh, you’ve seen the history and stuff with AD and injuries. It’s the number one thing talking point with him. It’s not his talent. um up until the start of this year and some of the conditioning or I guess over the past like year or so. Um you know, some people’s talked about like his decision to put on more like muscle and stuff instead of going the leaner route. Um but still people weren’t like really questioning his like talent, conditioning, ability, all the stuff. It’s always just been about the injury stuff. And so of course whenever you see him it’s just like you see him pop up on the injury report it’s even if it’s just probable and it’s this bilateral stuff with his Achilles and it’s like on both sides. So it’s like the first game after that or the game that he’s probable for he checks out of the game and goes to locker room because and he’s holding like one of his Achilles. So on a non-cont thing it was like a jump shot. He was just like taking kind of a fadeaway jumper and landed and then just walked over to the scores table. Yeah. So I I think you’re one you’re scared about like hey you don’t want want any like big injury to him or anything of that which didn’t look like it was anything like huge but there’s also the scary part of too like it’s just like the uncertain lingering thing too of you know the he was probably because there’s like soreness there and then he like leaves the game. So is it does he need rest? Is he cuz everybody’s going to flame them if he just comes out and plays in Mexico City and god forbid he gets hurt or something and it’s like oh he left the game and he was probable swordness and he’s still playing through this like what uh so I think just a little like well crap now what do we do what we do is I don’t know I mean we just keep we just follow it as it goes because what else are we supposed to do right what else we supposed to look at and see I I think the thing that though that I said yesterday on the show is that it just showed what kind of like what house what a house of cards this Dallas Mavericks team is right now that Anthony Davis is like the lynch pin for this team being competitive it seems like and yes they are missing their other two don’t be discrediting Dwight Pal Dwight Powell stepped in in a big way MVP chance I mean dogs I mean just just stepped up in a massive way for them I mean that Dennis drop about Dwight is even more important now all these changes and you know I still got my dog Dwight pal I still got you know what I mean I I still DP still in here. So I said I’m like, “What up, bro?” Like, you know, he was excited. He like, “Man, I’ve been waiting on this.” I’m like, “You and me both.” Oh, we got the full drop there. Deserved. Just needed that full drop. But but without Anthony Davis, without the other two centers, this team we already talked about have has no identity with with two of the centers healthy. And then now that they’re out, uh it looks like Gaffford also made the trip. I did not see Lively in photos. That doesn’t mean he doesn’t make made the trip. We probably did, but um but it looks like they’re all going to at least make the trip to Mexico City. So, let’s see what happens with them. But, um and we also saw the the other two centers, Lively and Gaffford, both at shootaround, like participating in shoot around, which I think is a positive thing. I saw a comment yesterday on the show that said we’re we’re tracking if our centers are playing in sneakers or or not at at shootaround. This is the state of the Dallas Mavericks right now. I’m like, yep, that’s where we are. Because I was going to say, was that you that because I almost made fun of you about it. Was that you to send a text or something like, “Hey, they’re out there in shoes.” I did say that because Gaffford had been in Gaffford had been at shoot around in slides for like the last like every every single one. He’d been at every shoot around in slides and he finally wasn’t in Gaffford has antas on today. So that he is getting his own antas. He did tell us that. He Hey, he told us that when we sat down and talked to him at media day. It probably helps the pees if you if you play in them. Well, he was at shoot around and he he’d been in the slides before then. He practiced in him reported by you. But anyway, this is scaring this this is scaring the Mavericks because Anthony Davis injury situation is is all of it. Like that’s everything that’s all the caveats we said all offseason. We were very high on what this team could be and what you know when when put all together and working well and all that and so far it has not looked like that at all. Not looked anything like what we thought it it could look like. And Anthony Davis, I think, has been part of that. And now he’s potentially out or could be out for a long time. And it you finally get to see the picture of like, all right, this is this is the story with Anthony Davis. And honestly, goes back to why you don’t trade for a guy like this because it’s an injury scare all the time. You just never know. He could he could play the next game. Like I I don’t know, but he could it’s you’re always just kind of in a limbo. Yes. Yeah. I mean, I think anything with that is is scary. I mean, it was just a Yeah. I don’t Yeah. I don’t want to stay positive right now. Um, we’re talking about scary things today. You know, you know that one of the things I’m scared of with it with this team is I’m scared that they’re going to ride the ship down with no like big changes. Like I think they’re g I think I’m scared that we’re going to hear the same talking point of like, hey, this is going to take time or injuries. They’ve been doing that. They’ve been doing that for three or four years. It feels like we just Yeah. for for just too long. Um, and if I hear one more time that the other side like the excuse is for the other like, hey, the offense is bad tonight. Well, you know what? It starts on the defensive side and we got to be better defensively. And it’s like, all right, your defense sucked tonight. And it’s a whole separate game. Well, it starts when we make shots and on the offensive side, it starts there. We’ve heard both of those so far this year and we’re five games in. We have. We’ve literally heard both. If I hear one of those again, I might lose my um but are you are you suggesting that Jason kid I don’t always tell you guys the truth. If like is there a world that we’re sitting here at Christmas and they’re still not starting and running a point guard a lot because they’re still trying to like force this thing to happen? That’s what I’m scared about. Scared that they’ll not make any moves. Scared that they’ll they’ll stay where they are. Coming up, let’s talk about some of the reasons why they they could do that. Let’s talk about Klay Thompson because I think that’s one of the reasons why they’re not changing the starting lineup. I think Jason Kid needs to make a choice. We’ll talk about that coming up. We’re talking about things that are scaring the Dallas Mavericks right now. And um you’ve been sharing some numbers. I’ve been looking at some numbers about Klay Thompson and those are pretty scary right now because I’m not sharing them publicly. They have. Okay. So there there are some numbers on there are some numbers on Klay Thompson. They’re too scary to share to the public. Um the Mavs have just not been good when he when he plays, right? Like they they just haven’t been and it’s been that starting lineup. The Mats have been starting slow. It feels like every postgame show slightly and I get on here and we’re like, well, the starting lineup started slow again and then they put DLO in and then all of a sudden they, you know, it picked up and we’re seeing that again. And I think Jason Kid’s got to make a choice here. And I know what he wants to do. I know what Jason Kid is saying. Um, I have to apologize that you felt that he should have played less. I think he’s saying that he’s apologizing. You think that Clay should have played should play less, but he’s going to give him a runway. What he said after after the last game, after the Pacers game, he said, “Hey, he’s a vet. We’ve got to get him going. He’s got to, you know, get his rhythm. He’s got to get that under him. And I think he’s just going to give him a runway because he trusts veterans. He always kind of has. He’s always put them out there and be like, “All right, they’ll eventually figure it out.” And man, the difference between Klay Thompson and Max Christie right now is just like miles right now between athleticism, defensive intensity, and just like shooting and the shots that they are getting and the shots that they are taking and the ones they’re making. Frankly, like it’s only been what, five games, but man, that that is just a big gap right now. Yeah, that’s the thing is really sucks for the Clay part because you you have Clay out there for the spacing and the shooting and right now Max has given you the spacing and shooting along with defense and athleticism. And so, yeah, I mean, you could look a bunch of numbers, Clay on numbers, Clay off numbers. um you know it’s over a hundred minutes on both of both of those on and off and uh it shows you a decent picture there. Uh now now has Max played more minutes with like um a point guard on the floor compared to like Clay. Uh I’ve said this before and I’m not taking it’s not a I’m trying to take up for Clay thing. It is Clay is especially at this point in his career, he is maximized when he’s playing off some point guards and that he can uh get some shots of some actions or stuff that happening for him to get the ball to where he’s not having to create and he’s not having to, you know, they’re not running a play for him. He’s catching on the wing and the guy’s up in his face already and it’s like, “All right, cool. Clay, take it. You’re, we need someone to shoot it.” And it’s like one dribble pump fake. The guy doesn’t jump and then he shoots it anyway. Yeah. And it’s like, dang. Again, so it kind of sucks that he’s not he doesn’t get to be in offense right now to where he’s getting set up to maximize his shooting. Um, but it’s more it’s a little bit more than that, too. Uh, looks like he’s taking a step a little step back defensively, too. Um, yeah, Max’s just playing better than him. And we could go back and forth on like who should start and all this stuff. It’s more about who closes. And I think Max should clearly be the closer over Clay. I think if they’re closing with Clay over Max, I think that’s that’s more of a bigger problem probably. It is more about who closes, but I think these like you’re starting off slow every single game. Oh, yeah. With this, I mean, it’s just like happening over and over. And who should start is DL and Max. That should be the that should be the two that should that should start. Like they need the playmaking of D’Angelo Russell. As long as Lively’s out. Yeah. But if Lively comes back, what what are you doing then? Are you benching PJ? I’ll bench Lively. Oh, yeah. Yeah. No. No, right now. Um I think yeah I think I would if it was up to me if someone asked in the subtext mailbag the other day like hey what would you do with the starting lineup right now? I said I would do DL Christy PJ Cooper AD and I would force AD to play the five and say here you go this is our this is our five that we’re that we’re rolling with. So yeah I’m with you on that. Yeah but I don’t think they’re going to do it. I think they’re going to keep Klay in there and I think they’re going to keep this non-point guard lineup because even even after the game where DLO played really well, he started Max and Klay Thompson and I think they’re he’s going to keep forcing this lineup. But how long how long can he do it before he just it’s just so obvious that they’re not going to he’s he’s done this too where he’s given people a runway like in that in that mailbag somebody responded and said remember Javal McGee it was like it was six it was eight games for Javel McGee in that starting lineup before he finally pulled the plug on it. Yeah. I would also not blame Clay or do the whole like Clay should play or not for a point guard. Like there’s other spots that they could put a point guard in. It doesn’t have to be just for Clay. Um Well, that’s what it be like if you start DLO. Yeah, like right now. I mean, you’re saying it could be somebody else. I just I just don’t know who you’re putting down. You’re not putting down AD. You’re not putting down Flag. PJ’s playing too well right now. I mean, you could start him over Max if you really wanted to. Sure. But whatever. Um, dang. I was about to say something else about the team now. I can’t remember. That’s scary. That means you’re getting old. No, I was starting to think about something else. Now we’re starting I don’t know. We were talking about point guards. If anything shows you again the importance of a point guard, look what Brandon William he just did. Like you have another point guard that is a backup point guard. I like Be will like him a lot. He played really really well the other night. But it’s like you have another bench point guard in that you put in and he looked like a star point guard because you just need someone out there that can create and drive and uh touch the paint and get other people. It’s like all right now you’ve had two point guards that get in and they really stand out because you just desperately need that. Well, and throw Ryan Nemhard in preseason where he had that 12 assist game and you’re like, “Oh, that stand like” like, “Oh, a playmaker.” Like, “Oh, that that stands out.” Right. Shout out to him and his brother’s jersey swap in the tunnel last night. Do you like the jersey swap when they don’t play? Both players didn’t play here. Here’s I’m going to be really Andrew Nehard is giving Ryan Nehard a jersey that he did not wear that night. You know, he gave him a green jersey. Wasn’t even jersey what they were wearing. Come on. It wasn’t even the jersey from that night. That is funny. Just go up to the freaking hanger and just get it. Like, do they have damn hard jerseys in the hanger? Oh, do they? Do I got time? Do I got time to go to get something to eat? Do I got time to go to the hanger? You got time to go to mass, man. Okay, I said this on the on the bonus episode yesterday. I want your thoughts on it. The Mavs have three of these backup point guards right now, and they each can do or three of these backup guards right now. They each can do one thing. Nehard can pass. Hardy can shoot and be well can drive. Are you counting Hardy as a point guard? I guess I’m just I’m just saying back backup guards like you get these guards coming in. They can each do one thing and you get one thing from each of them and it’s like kid has to decide like each game, right? What do I need right now? Do I need Brandon Williams attacking? Do I need Hardy shooting? Do I need passing? I think you need be wills attacking like I think Brandon Williams if you’re not going to okay there’s one thing to not if if somebody in making decisions isn’t a fan of DLO there’s one thing of like hey I’m going to bring DL in at the 8minute mark which is around the mark that he’s been coming checking into the game given that first four minutes without point guard there’s one thing to like be hesitant about the DLO experience because you’ve seen different things in the past okay well now you’ve seen a good Brandon Williams experience. So, if you were hesitant of like, dude, like, well, I’m not, you know, we’re not really the biggest, you know, like DLO guys, but, you know, we really need a point guard. If you’re not going to like put Brandon Williams in the starting lineup either, then it’s it’s not just a DLO thing. It’s like you’re purely just saying we don’t want a point guard out on the floor because it’s worked. It’s worked with multiple guys now. And it sucks to it sucks so bad for Cooper Flag because I’ve listened to multiple national podcasts now just because I’ve like purposely did it of just want to hear Mavs takes from like some national people and it’s like they all it’s like they’re all collectively having the same frustration as us of even like a guy like Sam Vini who you know follow on Twitter and stuff great Twitter follow NBA and prospects and stuff and he you know he’s tweeting about how frustrating it is that the Mavericks are trying to force this point you know point guard thing on on Cooper flag and it’s like all right cool. How long are we going to do this to the team and to Cooper and he’s not even being used as a point guard? Like PJ has run more pick and rolls than Flag has. I know. Yeah. It’s just it’s just a weird it’s just a weird thing and I do I do not get the the fascination with with doing this lineup still. Coming up other things to be afraid about for the Dallas Mavericks right now. Um, Derek Lively, Mavs Man. I’m not afraid of Mavs Man anymore. I haven’t seen him this year. I have I’ll tell you why I’m not afraid of him coming up. Today’s episode of Lock Maps brought to you by FanDuel. FanDuel Sportsbook. The NBA is back. But if you’re real confident in the Mavs still and you’re still one of those people that is like, “Hey, they’re coming back. I feel real confident this Mavs team is going to make this happen. They’re going to make the playoffs or whatever.” Uh, take that over. And if you feel real confident about something like that right now, if you’re a new customer, you can put down $5 and if you win, you get $300 in bonus bets from your first $5 bet wins. Yeah, Terry. It’s Halloween on Friday and uh if you’re listening to this on Friday and we’re talking about things that are scaring the Dallas Mavericks, things that are scaring Mavericks fans. This Derek Lively thing, I’m a little bit I’m a little bit afraid of the injury situation with Lively. It was a knee contusion. Now it’s being listed as a knee sprain and he’s out again. And you know what actually stinks about it is that I’m looking at like some of these stats and like he has the highest plus minus like on on the team right now. He he had the he had the most he was the most impactful when he was on the team in terms of like who like the Mavericks outscoring the other team and now they’re going to be without him again. And the Mavs were supposed to have this great advantage and I thought the Lively Flag PJ Washington trio looked really really good and fun together and we’re not going to see that as as much and I’m just afraid of the injury bug for for Derek Lively. I am too. Yeah. I think it’s hard not to be scared about it. um big lively guys both of us like big believer in him and um I originally back last year I I thought it was a little unfair that the injury uh label was kind of getting thrown on him already and uh but now we’re we’re like another injury in and it’s like all right we don’t like the sevenfooters having lower body injuries over here so uh it’s tough it’s like the I feel like it was like the day after I tweeted out protect Cooper Lively pairing at all cost and now it’s like well crap is Lively gonna protect that I don’t know maybe they took that real serious and just put Lively in bubble wrap for maybe they just decided hey we’ll just sideline them and just see see what happens cuz like I like you you look at the roster and you like you look at like the future and it’s you know there’s a lot of people throwing out because what the Mavericks are two and three now but it was like oh man what the Mavericks like change course at some point and they you know really like blow it up or whatever it is. It’s like, all right, if they if they ever do decide to do that, they have like a little young core with Cooper and Lively. Max Christie is still super young. Like, you have some guys there that you would keep in that process. And if Lively, yeah, it’s just a bummer if Lively isn’t doesn’t pan out because of injury stuff or if this is like a common thing for him. And I mean, his contract stuff’s going to be coming up soon, too, in the next year or so for for him and Dallas. And that’ll be interesting. Yeah, they picked up his his fourth year, right? And so next year, they’ll have to to decide on that that contract extension and what they’re what they’re going to do with him. Yeah, that is that’s going to be a choice if he still struggled with injury. Maybe he comes back from the knee sprain and maybe he’s he’s healthy the rest of the year and maybe it make he makes it easier for him. Um, but then yeah, you you just always have that in the back of your mind. Yeah. Are you afraid of the way they’re using Cooper flag? You talked about how the all the national, you know, shows and stuff are talking about, well, why do they keep pushing this point flag? Are you afraid that kids just going to keep pushing this with Cooper flag and that they’re going to like just use him the wrong way for a year or months or whatever? Yeah, I’m not I’m not afraid for him. I think he is that type of prospect where I don’t think it does anything to like um hinder like his growth or the ceiling that he’s going to hit one day. Um I just think it’s like unfortunate. I think it’s unfortunate for the team. And you know I think Leggler said it best on on Bill Simmons pod. He was like, you know, a lot of times when you have a rec a prospect like this, you want to you want to instill confidence in him early on. And they’re not really instilling the confidence in him because you’re asking this 18-year-old to do this thing, you know, do these different things like playing him out of position. Like you’re not even talking about confidence. You’re talking about uncomfortable stuff. Like, hey, we want to make him feel uncomfortable. Well, kid literally has said that multiple times. We want to make him feel uncomfortable. It’s like he’s doing the opposite of that. Yeah. So, it’s like you kind of like if you’re the Wizards and you were and you were just sitting there talking about like, “Hey, we’re we’re taking this like we have some young pieces. We want to grow. We’re taking this like long-term approach and all this stuff with our prospects. We want them to grow.” If that was kind of like your message out the whole time, then maybe it makes sense. But your message is win now. like your message is so at the same like you’re you’re at the same time you’re trying to like ride both of those and that’s just a that’s just a weird I think it’s I think it’s weirder and more difficult to ride the in between of the two timelines of that than it is for like roster building and stuff. I think a lot of times people talk about timeline stuff and it’s about roster building of like oh they’re not going to get a win now player because they’re going to get a young piece or whatever because they’re, you know, on that timeline and not the current timeline and all. I roster building is the it’s more about like this is where the two timelines things gets really difficult of are you really trying to win or do you just like Yeah. So, but like are they trying to develop Flag? I guess they’re putting him they’re making him uncomfortable in a way, but it doesn’t even seem like they’re featuring him. It’s not like they’re I’m not seeing what the current trajectory of like development and process is to get to where they want to go. That’s what that that’s what I don’t think I’m seeing yet. Like if they keep running this this like flag at quoteunquote point guard lineup over and over again like what’s the process that is getting them to a place where like oh I see for lack of a better term the vision now I see what Jason kid was was trying to do and it’s and now it’s working and I was wrong and this is going to be completely completely great. Like I’m not seeing where I’m not even seeing the process to get there. Well, yeah. I said this a little bit the other day. I want to talk about when I did that one more thing on the offense, but you know, they probably look at it, it’s like, hey, we’re running this flow Princeton Jr. offense and it’s like we don’t really need like a firm point guard in this because it’s so much movement spacing. It’s positionless. A lot of people brand that as that compared to like a high isolation offense in which you have all these defined roles. So much of it is positionless. But in order to get those those systems going and those motions going and the actions going, you got to have somebody that can bring the ball down the floor and a point guard who can set things up and get that motion and stuff going. And that’s what they’re I think they’ve underrated is, hey, we don’t really need a point guard because we’re going to run this type of offense. And it’s like, yeah, you kind of do. like you do kind of need a point guard to like get that offense and stuff going. And I don’t know. I mean, obviously I’m not a coach making millions of dollars. They are, but I think for me it would been more like, hey, let’s instill confidence in Cooper and like really maximize what he does well to start off his career. And then maybe like year one or year two, then it’s the hey, we want him to feel uncomfortable right now. Like we want him to grow. We want to push him now. like or even like in January, you know, even like three months from now, two months from now, like let’s I don’t I don’t know. I So that’s my thing. It’s like I don’t think it’s the best thing for Cooper right now and I don’t think it’s the best thing for the team right now, but they stay committed to it. And I don’t know how Jason Kid, who was a point guard his entire career and who like one of the big things here in in Dallas in the 2011 season was he went to Rick Carile and was like, “Hey, let me call like I’m going to call the play. Let me call let me call the plays here on the court because it’s so important to have a floor general and somebody that is like here on the team calling calling plays. He told Rick Carlile that like the genius mastermind that he is and it ended up working out. They won a title because of it. And like how did that lesson like not make it? Maybe he looks at DA Russell and just says you’re nothing like me. So we’re just going to run no point. We’re just gonna run no point guard on this. We we my GM didn’t give me a good enough point guard to run this. So we’re just gonna run no point guard. That’s what it feels like it is to me right now. Yeah. I mean and it goes back to the the disconnect between head coach and front office and yeah so which that’s that’s not a unique thing to douse like there’s that has been a age-old thing that’s happened for so many years in different franchises and stuff of you got one person that’s building the roster and envisioning a certain way. You got another person who’s calling the shots during the game and is trying to win basketball games and make the best decisions then. And it’s like, all right, well, who’s going to who’s going to win out here? And when you lose, you got a lot of fingerpointing, but when you win, everything’s kind of fun. I’m going to do a first here for us. Uhoh. Two more things. I’m so I’m not afraid of Mavs man anymore. He’s not scaring me. You know why? I’ve said this a couple times, I think, on the show, but in case you haven’t listened in a little while, Mazman is part of the raccoon squad. Do you know this? Yeah. He is part of the He has he has told me he told me through the mask. He told me he shook my hand one time in one of the tunnels underneath and it kind of scared me at first, but he let me know he’s raccoon squad. So, he is shorter than you think though. So, you’re like, “Okay.” I didn’t think it was a giant. I didn’t think it was Champ. Champ also like Champ put his hand on my shoulder the other day. Didn’t say anything but if he was taller I’d be like maybe this is what Nerland is doing now. I don’t think horses talk. My last thing something I’m afraid of. They have this like new scoreboard celebration thing. They’ve been doing this where they like put celebrations up on the scoreboard. They put like a C captain thing for Clay. They do like all these things. The one for Anthony Davis is terrifying and I cannot I cannot get it out of my head. On the big jumbotrons like on the sides of the of like the baseline se like ceiling walls like up in the way top like the big long video boards they have this giant photo like of Anthony Davis where his it’s like not just his whole head it’s like forehead to chin. So, it’s he his face is huge on it and his eyes are just rolling in his in his head like back and forth and up and down and all over the place and it is terrifying to me and I can’t I can’t look at it like and they make the eyes go like in different directions like how they shouldn’t be able to go and you’re just like it scares me. It scares me. I I don’t like it. You might need to stay inside on Friday. You might see other things if that if that scares me. Yeah, Halloween uh might not be good for you outside. So, have you have you you’ve seen it though, right? The Anthony face. I mean, I wouldn’t say that I got like freaked out by it, but does isn’t it unsettling though? I mean, it was a little odd the first time I’ve seen it, but I was like I mean, I’ve seen a lot of odd things they’ve put up on that jumbo. So, I’ve seen Dirk Nitzky do the the what does the fox say song that a lot of weird animated things, a lot of weird AI stuff. Yeah. just Yeah, but there’s been some weird things on that board. A lot of weird halftime performers, too. All right, there you go. There’s some things that are scaring the Mavs and Mavericks fans. 1. Trade away the stars, fire Nico and rebuild around Flagg, Lively and Christie.

Collect 1st round picks and/or young players with available assets.

  2. Pelinka would've given Austin Reaves had Nico insisted. Losing Luka is a fucking disaster, but looking at Reaves becoming an all star is making it even worse every FUCKING DAY!

  3. For the guys here who still reminisce the Luka era, it's time to move on. Luka has moved on and will never, ever return to Dallas. Like zero %. Hes in a better franchise now. Go Lakers.

  4. Well we’re the Mavs winning the nba championship with a healthy AD? I don’t think so and if they’re not then who cares if he plays or not. Might as well have that spot open up so the rest of the guys that are going to be playing can play their natural positions. He’ll be gone in a couple years and he’s probably not going to be playing much during that time do to injury anyway. Why mess up chemistry with the guys that will be playing the vast majority of the time? Maybe have him come off the bench with low minutes. If he contributes great if not then we have an expensive non contributor for a few years until he leaves, can’t unmake that bed now. Just don’t screw up the team cohesion with him in and out of the lineup
