over the time. How did you find out that the game wasn’t over? I mean, I guess we we we were leaving and then like we started replay and it was you kind of saw like it was in the crease and like people had contact or something and we just waited waited out and uh good for us wasn’t goal and uh got to win the game in a shootout. That’s always good for us. Anybody make it back in here? Oh, I don’t know. I I I saw it pretty fast, but uh A couple guys probably made it pretty hard on the but the last Yeah. Yeah. Um, I think like I was just trying to straight away I mean I’ve talked about it before like obviously wasn’t wasn’t really scoring like the last two games and uh to just try to go out there and uh do little things right compete on the right side of the park stuff like that and uh just go to that stuff like that you know what can you say about the pace it made to set up your goal. Yeah, it was a pretty nice pass in the back of his head or something. I don’t know. That was a good pass. Just tried to put it in nice. This is a wilder game as you can recent memory just mean the two goal lead and then I mean everything. Yeah, I mean we got to close out this the game really. We we got to be better in six and five just uh super I don’t know like win maybe better and stuff like that. But yeah, it’s it was a crazy game. I mean, unfortunately, we got the win, but we just got closer closed out early. Can you talk about Telus tonight? Just the way that he stood tall throughout the game and in the shootout, too. Yeah, I mean, was huge today. I mean, lots of saves um that you can see he really wanted that win, too. And uh he played a great game. Uh saved all three penalty shots. Probably knew knew some of the moves from from when he played here. So, no, it’s it’s awesome. He was he was playing great. Dinket, I think three goals in his last three. It seemed like every time he gets the puck in space, something great happens. Is is he feeling it out there and can you guys feel that on your line as well? Yeah, for sure. Um, he’s a great player and great scorer. So, tried to put him in good situations like today and Paul played just just a good shot, you know, like that’s that’s what that’s what he does and uh no, it’s awesome. I think we just go like we talked about we tried to simplify the game just uh being right side of the puck on defensively just uh get pucks but play the right way too, you know. Everything was down in the last minute and a half game from from the time that the overtime goal appears to be scored to getting everyone back out there. Yeah, I came down the hallway and truth be told, my stick didn’t make it down the hallway and uh it was in a few pieces and I heard Todd say, “Hold on, Tubs. You know, we’re going to go out there and challenge it.” And uh so then we all just kind of funneled back into the into the tunnel there and um you know I knew that um Kev came right through my crease there and I was kind of spun. So I mean um I was hoping for that that call and we got it. So how do you regroup after that the emotional swing of that? You know I think we did a heck of a job. Um obviously it’s not easy especially you know giving the two late goals too and then that one and then you know killing off the last 38 seconds that we got to give our PK a ton of credit. They did a heck of a job all night. Uh killed back to back penalties there in the third and a little bit of five on three times. So, um PK was uh probably won us this game tonight and um you know, great great job by the guys sticking with it after we get with that lead late. Your team’s been off to such a good start this season. What do you attribute that to mostly? I think a little bit of everything. I mean, we’re getting scoring up and down the lineup. Uh Larks has been elite all all season. he’s uh he’s leading us right now and and we look to him when we need uh need to get going and uh he’s leading leading us in the right direction right now. So, I mean obviously certain guys different guys are stepping up every night and that’s what you need to to win in this league. So, um we’re getting a little bit of contributions from everybody right now and uh you know hopefully we can keep it rolling to start a trip this way. I mean, how much of a lift does that give you guys? It’s huge. I mean, these are never easy buildings to come into. A lot of travel uh late nights. So to come out here and and you know start the road trip off with two big wins is is huge for the rest of the trip for sure. It was just a satisfying game for you personally. I mean not just your former team but you really dialed in through most of regulation. I six on five and then to close it out in the shootout authoritatively too. Yeah I felt felt good obviously you know sitting around for a week or so after letting in seven last games. I wanted to come out and make sure I was ready. So, um, you know, I make that that big save right in the first minute there off off the two-on-one and, you know, just kind of kept kept rolling from there. Confidence kept building and I felt pretty comfortable all night. There looked like half you guys were already back here. How’d you find out? Um, yeah, I saw the replay and I saw um, a little bit of contact. So, I I was I was one of the ones who stayed out just to um, see if they were going to review it and um, luckily it came back. I think um you know Talps battled in there all night and um you know it’s nice to to get that one back. How satisfying was it too after what happened late in regulation? Yeah, it’s good um obviously we we don’t want that to happen but um to battle through that um good PK in in overtime and um to to win in a shootout is is great. Two points is two points and doesn’t matter how you get them. Um you know I thought we we battled well today. The mentality of the group to allow that shorty then get one right back on the power play. What what type of mindset are you guys playing with right now that’s allowing you to get those back and respond? Yeah. Um, a couple unfortunate bounces there on the power play and they get a breakaway. Um, you know, I think we’re pretty confident in our abilities on the power play and um, you know, just not let it bother us. Go out there um, pulling in the net. So, um, it was a good thing we could do it that quick and, um, get the momentum back. Were you had your teammates come back, come back or Oh, where’s Oh, oh, um, no. I think everyone kind of got the got the news like halfway down the tunnel and they were all standing there. So, um you know, I think it was it was good. We we stayed out there. Obviously, this building is such a tough building to win in and your team’s been off to such a good start. What do you attribute that to? Um yeah, I think we’ve got a deep lineup. Every every line can contribute and um you know, I think we’ve been playing a lot better defense this year than than last year. um you know, focusing on the little details, managing the game, um you know, a lot of different things that really help us out throughout the game and um keep us in it. 505 tonight on the defense. How essential is that, especially down the road? Yeah, it’s huge. I think um you know, momentum swings and um they can get the crowd in it, but um you know, I thought we did a good job today of limiting that and kind of getting it in their end as well. And um you know obviously the power play was um you know two goals there and then um one five on five goals. So um good thing we got the job done. What did you think of Mason’s pass? Yeah, it was awesome. I think uh you know not many guys have visions like that. So um you know it was a a great pass by him. Thanks C. Take us through that uh wild sequence there in overtime and Cam said he had already left the ice. Yeah, we were uh we were all in the back here really to tell you the truth. And um our video guy goes, you know, get back out. I think this is going to come back and gathered up the team and we went back out. Um obviously emotions were all over the place. We’ given up the two goal lead and uh thought we were only leaving with a point. So um give the guys credit, you know, for sticking with it, recovering, finding a way to uh you know to get the lead and then recover after we gave it up. So it was not a coach’s challenge that that came from that that league reviews in the last two minutes in a while. How how tough was it just to like you said get everybody on the same page right away again cuz it it was an emotional um are you talking at at that overtime moment? Well it was it was you know we had guys in the locker room that were already starting to undress and we had other guys on the bench. So we had to gather everybody up, get them there and then get them focused on actually starting the game. if if it didn’t go our way, we’re done anyhow. So, we had to bring them back out, get them focused on what was left on the kill and uh and then go from there. And they did a good job. They got to rest and think a little bit, which is what we needed. Did you see on the two six on five goals that a lot of them tie the game? Well, we didn’t win any type of important faceoff down the stretch, even in overtime. Um, you know, and we have pretty good centermen. Uh so that was uh a little disappointing but after that the first one they they took a shot and both our D were were playing up and they got underneath us. So you know if one guy gets there it’s going to happen but both that that’s that can’t happen. Second one was a rebound and went off Albert and went right back to to Q. So uh ping pong um I think the first one’s very preventable. Uh the second one those things you know how difficult it is to win in this building physic teams. What what kind of perseverance does it require? Well, it, you know, it took all 65 minutes and I guess two shooters to get it done and a lot of emotional ups and downs. I thought we had some heavy legs to start the game and uh allowed us to to play into it. And then I thought when we got our legs going, we were a better team. Um I could stand here and say, you know, special teams won us the game. you know, we scored two in the power play and didn’t give up anything on the penalty kill, but six on five in my mind is uh is part of that. Uh but then you throw in the shootout, we won that. So, it’s it was a strange night. Uh but all in all, a good night for our team. You see Marco simplifying his game at all these last couple times. I think Marco’s playing harder. Um I think he’s going to harder areas. The second goal, he’s going to the net, he’s stopping in the paint. um you know so he’s uh he’s a competitive individual that has put some pressure on himself uh and maybe this will really get him going but um you know we’re counting on him and we forget this what 20 21 years old like it’s we think he’s 27 the way he played last year you guys have a game in less than 24 hours now how do you take the momentum and the learning lessons from tonight and apply that to tomorrow well I I don’t believe in in carrying momentum through I think tomorrow’s going to be its own event um I I think we get on the bus right now and get to Anaheim, which is is nice. It’s fairly close. Uh we’ve got to get our energy levels back up and then we got to be be prepared to play a smart smart game. They’re uh they’re playing really well and all hands on deck. It’s it can’t be two or three guys that carry the team. It has to be all 20. For Cam to come through that emotional swing at the end and be as good as he was in a shootout. What does that say about him? Well, tells me that he was really focused that he uh a veteran goalender got it back quick. Um, you know, he was obviously wasn’t happy when he was walking in here thinking the game was over. Uh, but he certainly got it back. And, you know, I don’t know. I was thinking on the bench, you know, who are they going to put? I had a pretty good idea of guys who were going to come. And I don’t know if that favors Talbs or if that would favor Kempe or Fiala, you know, in that case that they’ve known each other for so long and and their moves. Um, you know, with Juice, I thought Juice was going to do something different. Um, you know, with Kevin, he’s so crafty and and quick. Uh, but maybe Talps have had the edge on it. I don’t know. Good.

I went through every emotion possible watching this game
I shut the game off after the overtime goal. Went to twitter to cry and saw shootout comments. Turned it back on and we win. What in the fuck
let's win a game the normal way, 40+ shots, 5-1
Talbs deserved that Win .. Great to see Kasper doing work! LGRW!!!!!!!!!!!
Why does sport need to play with my emotions at 5am in the morning haha! Good for Kasper, he needed those goals. Talbot was solid and Cat is catching fire. Defense really needs to tighten up though, just far too easy and soft. Los Angeles is always a tough place to play so that's a solid win even if they made it harder than they needed too.
Why do you fair weather fans shut off the game? It was 100% obvious that lt wasnβt gonna count lmao, goofs. Have faith in your team, LGRW
Good call on the league disallowing that stupid overtime goal. Way to win the shootout, boys!
Kasper coming alive would be huge. Todd rightly called him out a few days ago
Unironically think if we kept it 2-1 we'd have won in regulation
LA remembered to venmo the refs but forgot to venmo Bettman
Hamonic giving Cat the "meow" during the interview
Anyone hear the βmeowβ @ 6:03 while interviewing cat π
This extra point could be the difference between making the playoffs
This game was almost exclusively special teams scoring, plus a shootout.
It was like 5v5 kryptonite.
So happy i stayed up for this one, ill be remembering this for the whole season
I want Talb's hat…
Damn that looks like a fun game to watch hate i had to miss it live since i work at 5am glad the boys won tho
Larkin is a third line center on a cup contender
Talbot still gave up a bad tying goal. That can't go in he stayed on his knees for 10 seconds. He gave up 10 goals his last two starts. We need way better then that. Postava at GR is tearing it up he should be Gibsons backup. Postava is flat out better talent then talbot and better foot work. Postava was amazing in Czech league and hes been excellent with GR. Talbot is very inconsistent and too many bad goals.
Why we had chats or chomper on the ice with the last 2 mins of game left is dumb they canβt perform in big moments.
Anyone know where I can buy the hat El Gato is wearing
Soderblom looks like a monster out there. Whenever he hits bodies are flying lol
Thank you for giving us a team worth rooting for again, Coach Todd!
