With the information of the passing of one of our greatest player, Nick Mangold, I have set up a petition to retire his number- 74 – so that he will live in infamy for not only his incredible plays that pushed the NY Jets to be the best Defensive Line in the league, but for his love of the game. I remember meeting him at Summer Camp and he was the most appreciative and humble player, so excited to meet fans.
Im not asking for donations, Im just asking that we show how much we appreciate what he did for the team that we love in hopes that the "higher ups" will immortalize him on our walls.

For those who will say that his number is being used- It is allowed to retire the number, even when currently being used. The player can continue to use it, but once he retires/leaves the team. The number is done.

Yeah when he went into the Ring of Honor I just assumed 74 would be retired

It isn’t? Do it now. He should be in the NFL Hall of Fame. The first step is for the Jets to treat his legacy like that’s the case.
