Boogie, Chandler & Lou on Why Orlando Magic Are STRUGGLING! Paolo Banchero Needs PHYSICALITY!
Um, more games. Magic at the Pistons in this one. Okay, so the Pistons pull away in this guy. Uh, second half they get an easy win. 135 116. K finishes with 30. Duran finishes with 21. Paulo has 211 and seven. But we start with the the magic in this Chandler because you know after last year I think there were really high expectations and this one and four start seems very very much off and you know we’re looking for a top four finish in the East that this is not it. What’s going on? Well, last year, if you remember, they were a top five defense throughout all the stats. And this year, their defensive rating is 22nd. And then their their offensive rating is 26. And you have a guy Balo who’s struggling from the mid-range. He’s not getting to the basket. He’s not having that efficient kind of type games that he had last year yet. Also, you add a guy like Desmond Bane, which is exactly what they need on paper for shooting. They’re 28th in three-point percentage at 31 and 39th in three-point field goals. So, it’s like everything they added hasn’t panned out yet within this offense. I do think they still got better. They’re obviously not showing that. But this is a team that was so good defensively last year. They went from top three defensive team to now, you know, bottom 10, bottom eight defensive team. And I don’t know if that’s just the addition of Bane or that they haven’t got on the same page yet. But it is starting to get to a level of concern, but they do have the infrastructure. They have the pieces to be a good team. They just haven’t shown it yet. Yeah, I I think it’s a long season for this Orlando team. Um, I do believe there’ll still be a playoff team this year, but I just want to be a little critical on the young fella, uh, Paulo. Um, I think he’s settling too much, you know. Um, everything’s ending in a jump shot. He’s a physical specimen. Nobody can guard you. You got 30 lbs on any any defender that’s on you besides a center. Use that physicality. Use your size. Use your advantage and actually take advantage of it. Settling with the jumper every time. I I think that’s exactly what the defender wants. And as of right now, he’s shooting about 28% on his jump shot. So getting to that basket, getting fouled, getting to the free throw line, I think that’s your strength right now. Using your size against smaller defenders, back to the basket more so. And I and I think, you know, your offensive game starts to open up a little more. But right now, I believe he’s just selling a little too much. Both of y’all make great points, but I’m I’mma blame coach for this one, right? Like if if you look at this Orlando team play, Paulo is catching the ball at the three-point line and he’s putting it on the floor immediately and now he’s the guy trying to create and if he’s getting stopped, he’s just kicking it out and then or he’s just selling for selling for jump shots. He’s not putting any pressure on the rim whatsoever. And I think that’s coaching. Put him put him in some of them old some some of those older ones crosscreen, block the block, give him the ball. Give him a Paul Pierce cut where he can catch the ball with a live dribble. 15 20 feet from the basket instead of facing up playing from the three-point line and trying to create opportunities from there. That that type, like you said, he’s a he’s a physical specimen. He’s one of the more physical young guys that’s playing the game. You got to put him in a position to be successful using his size opposed to putting the ball on the ground and being a face up guy at that side. And he can do that as well. That’s what makes him such a special talent. Yeah. But you don’t want to just settle on that every single possession. And and like I said, I believe teams are playing him like that specifically. If we know, of course, they know. They’re going over the scout every day. We know he’s struggling with his jump shot. So, we’re going to keep making him shoot jumpers and making him settle. So, I think he does need to get a little closer to the basket and use that physicality and that’ll open up the three-point line. And the rest of his game is going to open up. They have to adjust. 10 260. He’s got to take advantage of his strength. But again, when you’re shooting 15% from the three-point line, you’re going to get guarded differently. Guys are going to start going under. So, I think like like you said, you can make adjustments with like a rescreen. Let him get in the paint. Let him do a little off the block post up. Play a little twoman game with him. Let him do what he does best. But then once the shots once once the shots do start falling, you going to find a way, ain’t you? Once the shots start falling, then obviously it’s going to expand the rest of his game. That is this temporary? I mean, right? Because obviously we look at him as a I guess a a growing superstar. He’s going to be a superstar. Is this shooting situation temporary? Is this something that’s going to keep him back a little bit? It’s temporary. It’s temporary. I mean, like I said, this is obviously a talent. We He was the number one pick. We saw what he did at Duke. We saw what he’s done since he’s been in the league. Like I obviously everybody goes through offensive struggles. This is normal. But, uh, he has to find a way to play through those struggles and also use his strengths in the midst of it. So, uh, like I said, I’m not a fan of just settling with the jump. Yeah. And it’s never been his his best part of his game. Watch Giannis film. It’s not It’s not the same as him. He could play similar styles as him. Absolutely could. And so, and he’s never been an efficient sniper from like the perimeter. So, I think he could take a lot from his game just kind of as a guy that’s a big rugged dude that is not an elite jump shooter. Jaylen Durren second 2010 rebound game in the last three. He did not get the rookie scale contract extension in the offseason. Um, Boogie, is he still is he the number two guy there? Can he be Jaylen Dur? Yep. Number two as in the offensive option. I mean, as far as Kade, I think he’s a vital part of this team. I think he’s a foundational piece of this team. Um, but obviously the show runs through Cade. Finding that second option for Detroit, I think they’re still, you know, in search of that. This is still a young up and cominging team. They have the talent. I think they’re a playoff team. But, uh, to say Jaylen Darren is the second option, I don’t I can’t agree with that. But, I do feel he’s a foundational piece for this Orlando team, and he’s doing his job every night. He’s tough. He’s he’s physical in the paint. his presence is shown every possession. Uh that combination of him and Isaiah Stewart, it’s like the Bash brothers like you know what I mean? So um I I just can’t I can’t label him the second option off offensively. You’re sp and you you can’t right. He’s not that score. He’s not that Embiid type. He’s not that Jokic type where you’re going to play through him offensively ever. He’s going to get on the glass. He’s going to be a lob threat. He’s going to do things like that which which is pivotal to this team and the future of this team. But a two option has got to be more of an elite dynamic scorer to go alongside Kate Cunningham. Talk start talking about big threes and you get us you can throw him in there as one but like he’s a critical piece but he’s never going to be that that offensive number two guy. It’s like trying to say Ben Wallace is the second option. Exactly. You know what I mean? It’s a it’s a team it’s a team effort. A trio would work for him. We got to take a quick break on the other side. Which team right now is under the most pressure for the season? When we come back They run it back. Run it over.

My Orlando Magic gonna figure it out eventually only a matter of time we look a bit cooked rn tho lol
Smiles Mosley NEEDS to go!!! Along with Benchdell Carter, Suggs, Jet and JI. They are not playing JI cos he'll be traded… Why you keep playing the garbage Carter over Goga when clearly Goga does a WAY better Job??? The last 3 season i have been saying, New coach, a real Center and a True PG. Team has talent but needs direction and these office clowns only care about their paycheck…
Penny, M. Jackson, Malone & Thibs are available for coaching. Cmon ppl!!!
it has not been true that everything he did ended with a jumpshot these last 2 games. Magic are the first team in the league for attempted free throws.
Once the sharts πππ
Jamal Mosley should be fired for Orlando his offensive scheme always lacked but now the defense gone. Itβs a wrap no excuses with this team they have this. Put them studs in position man
Just think if magic didn't trade shaq and penny didn't get hurt. It would have been magic and bulls in the eastern conference finals for the next 8 years. The Bulls would have struggled with shaq entering his prime. Oh what could have been.
As a Magic fan, NONE of what these guys said is wrong. π―
Love that they are pro Cade ICEWOOD Parker Cunningham channel
Remember when Wemby was about to get drafted , there was a debate of whether you would trade the #1 pick Wemby for paolo banchero. Everyone was saying no way u would make that trade if u were the magic ,but I wonder do people still feel that way?
Jaden Ivey is our second option imo. Talk soon
They need to put Poalo on the block posting up or pick and roll for alley hoops/ drives to basket
FYI Cade was 30 6 and 10. 3 blks, 3 steals, 0 turnovers… FIRST PLAYER IN NBA HISTORY TO DO THAT!
What are you talking about let's talk about cade Cunningham shed him down let's talk about cade Cunningham make history let's talk about the Orlando magic is not better than the Pistons
Paolo Banchero = Josh Smith. I'm not saying he's a bad player, but he's very clearly being miscast as a #1 option. Paolo's most consistent part of his game, is running into defenders yelling AYYYYEEEE tryna foul bait. That's not great, but I'd accept it if he ACTUALLY MADE HIS FREE THROWS. The Magic will never be true contenders with Paolo as the #1 option.
They second option is ivy
Wow. Did they even watch? Morons. Paolo went to the line 17 times yesterday. Took it to the rack every time. Heβs top 3 on the nba in ft attempts. Heβs settling? πππππ. These guys donβt even watch games
Paolo donβt get to the basket enough? HE SHOOT 12 FREETHROWS A GAME! He see the most doubles in the league!!! At least watch the games!
Maybe he did have the sharts lmao
It's not a coincidence that KCP, Bane, Tyus Jones can't shoot in Orlando. Moseley is a great team defensive minded coach but he's weak on coaching offense and it's getting exposed with the expectations they have now
beadle is elite!
Cade is trash
Duren 21 points no defense at the five and bane bringing nothing
Boogie the only right answer to the problem
