When Cizikas and MacLean come out and Pelech and Pulock are broken up this team won’t be bad enough to have a good chance to get this kid.
Look, he’s already wearing 72, he must be an Islander!
(Or on the Flames…)
I love the idea of getting McKenna but I think the Isles luck was all used up on Schaefer and I’m 100% ok with that. This is a deeper draft than the previous year and I hope we get a solid player or 2 out of it. I think the chances of getting McKenna is basically 0% even if the Isles finish at bottom 5.
explain the obsession with him?
He seems to be heating up now as well, at least statistically. I have zero expectations or even hope of us lucking into another lotto win, even if we finish in the basement, but a Schaefer/McKenna duo to build around is about as good as you can ask for.
Even after Schaefer we’re still owed some luck after all the torture we’ve endured. Spano, 10 years of Milbury trading away future Hall of Famers. Tavares stringing us along and peacing out. Unfortunately though Calgary still probably deserves it a bit more than us. Just not the Sharks, please. I’m sure they’ll be just as happy with Verhoeff but Celebrini, McKenna, Misa, Smith and Eklund would just be absurd.
