28 on defense. They outscored you guys 28 to was it 28 to9 in the second half. What were there some miscommunication issues? Was it because of someone like Mike Chenelli getting hurt? Just didn’t play good enough football. That’s point blank. We need to watch the film and see what happened, but not seeing football. I know you guys have been frustrated by the lack of turnovers lately. When you look at the tape from previous games and when you look at this game tonight, what do you think is just lacking in that area? Just not enough playmaking. Were they getting the ball off fast that way when they were get home and No excuse, man. We need to find ways to affect the game. What was working so well for Jordan Love and Pepper Craft today? Uh they were just able to uh capitalize on getting him getting open, not getting pressure on the quarterback and uh we need to do better. What’s your confidence level? You guys can turn things around defensively. Uh, I I’ll stay optimistic. Always have a lot of confidence. Jaylen, you had started off redhot on third downs and then there were some mistakes in the second half. What did you see that that you guys needed to fix? I got to watch the film to be able to tell you accurately. Jaylen, you know Jordan personally through your agent. How would you describe the way he played tonight? Good. Did things change with Deshawn out at all whenever he gets injured? [Music] Potentially. How deflating was that, you know, scheme wise, but also personally just to see him go down like that at that point in the game? Well, you you you want all your guys out there. So, um yeah, that’s for anybody. What was Mike’s message to you guys in the locker after the game? Just didn’t get the job done tonight, but um we got to stay together. Um we can’t can’t hang our heads on this. You know, we can’t let these two these back toback losses uh fester. Um we got to, you know, watch the film. Uh you know, we got to own it. But the end of the day, you know, we we just got to we got to flush it because we got a good team coming in here next week. So, um we just got to play better, a lot better and fast. What what changed about the third down defense? You guys were shutting it down early, 0 for four for them on the other side early and then it seemed like they popped a few plays and it just kind of broke open. I mean, they were making some good plays, but you know, we just didn’t execute like we should have. Um and I think, you know, it’s just kind of been the trend for us the past couple weeks and we just got to get back to playing steel football, steel defense. And like I said, it’s just unacceptable the way we’ve been playing the past couple weeks. So, we got to figure out what’s wrong and um get get back in the film room um analyze it because like I said, we got a good team coming in next week. So, we got to get better fast. The issues that you guys have had, is it scheme or is it execution of the scheme? No, it’s not nobody to blame. You know, uh as a group, as a team, we just got to come together and uh and figure things out. Uh I mean, I guess all these questions, but how frustrating is to not get that one for Aaron with everything? Oh, it’s big, man. you know, it’s very big cuz I I realized that would have been the only team he, you know, hadn’t beaten because he been on that team for so long. We would have he would have completed that. So, uh, you know, that was the goal to try to do that for him for sure. I know he was trying to be keep it to himself, but, uh, we wanted to do that for him and we, you know, and we come through. Expect you’ll be back in there at your usual workload going forward. Uh, I’m ready for whatever. Juan, how how much of this is just the confidence? Even even great athletes can have a lapse in confidence collectively, too. I don’t I don’t think it’s confidence at all, if I’m being honest. I I don’t um I don’t think anybody’s going out there just like expecting to be beat or nervous or something like that. Um literally, I just feel like, you know, we just got to work on the things like finding the ball when they throw it, uh making the tackles that we’re supposed to make. Um things simple as that. Do you feel like these are fixable things that you’re seeing? Definitely. I mean, just make the tackle literally like we can do certain drills in practice that will allow us to make those tackles, stay in that gaps. Uh, when the ball’s in the air, track it, things like that. It’s easy to fix. Deshawn going forward is enough secondary you guys can get together. Assuming he’s not, huh? Assuming he’s out secondary, you guys have the bodies to win. I mean, we got guys everywhere. I mean, you got me, you got Pep. Um, we got a lot of guys that can step in and help with that role. you know, Deshawn was one of our leaders, you know, um he did a lot for our defense. Um I don’t I’m not really sure what his injury is. Hopefully, he’s back. Um but I I think we got the guys that can step in and make those plays. What was the impact of losing him just as far as he covers several roles for you guys? I mean, it was huge, man. Like like I said, he did a lot for us. And then once he went down, we had other guys that were trying to play a lot of positions that they really haven’t had a lot of reps um like in practice cuz Deshawn’s always out there. He’s working. Um, and then he go down and it’s like, “Oh, so what are we going to do now?” Um, but like I said, we got the guys to do it. Um, I think we’re ready for it.

  2. They need to get better at hiding behind the "We need to get better" excuse. Contracts should be "incentive" driven and paid weekly. No guarantees. Players should be paid on wins, tackles, sacks, turnovers, hits, rushes, and 3rd down stops, etc. No way should a defense be paid 180 million bucks and be allowed to lose week in week out and say "We need to get better" and yet, never get better each week.

  4. How bout some passion, calling people out and holding them accountable. The same bullshit lines of "gotta look at tape and get better" are old, stale, and pissing true fans off. I haven't not watched a game in 34 years and next week will be my first.

Slay and the rest of the secondary needs to be replaced with better stronger younger faster more physical CBs and safety's there communication and position this group is not going anywhere Joey Porter Jr is garbage they can't tackle they are to slow Patrick queen is soft and can't red the offensive he doesn't cover the Gap he tackles soft all of off the secondary besides ramesy is soft and they are injury proem the middle linebackers position has to be address we need another green dot leader that communicates better and knows what position they suppose to be in and cover their gaps don't wait until the offensive players are running to you your suppose to run and tackle them as far back as possible the less the better but know they wait to get ran over ran by through and they can't stop anyone receivers from catching the ball specifically going across the middle of the field were Patrick queen is suppose to be but he's always out of place and he doesn't look comfortable and he kinda stays out of play he makes a play maybe every few weeks if that the other teams know that they are soft and can't guard anybody without holding and they can't tackle

  24. A lot of new players elite players, it takes time to gel! By end of season this unit if it stays healthy will be dominant and it will come at the time it matters most. Win the division and sky is the limit , they will be in the championship game if they stay healthy

  25. Start putting in the second string on defense, and it can't hurt. The second string could be a good change. At least if they are better, then you know where the problem is.
