Rattler

  1. Imagine if we were so unlucky to be stuck with Bo Nix, Patrick Mahomes, or Baker Mayfield at QB.. Instead our 2nd best QB is a top 10 QB in the league. We really dodged some bullets

  2. Yeah, a list that ranks Daniel Jones higher than Josh Allen, Matthew Stafford, Patrick Mahomes, and Jayden Daniels should absolutely be used to evaluate how well a player is performing.

    This is moronic.

Edit: apparently not watching Indy 😂 point still stands though. You’re talking all those other guys over mahomes?

  3. Not exactly sure the point you’re trying to make. Defenses are very willing to let the saints dink and dunk, so many of their passes are at the line of scrimmage. So yeah his short yardage accuracy is good. But his deep ball is terribly inconsistent and just not good. There’s a reason he’s a backup now

  4. Define “catchable”. I’m sure it’s like within x feet of the receiver or something similar. His problem isn’t getting it in the vicinity of the receiver. His problem is that the passes are almost always behind, low, or so high the receiver has to jump. As a result, the pass goes from an easy catch to a level 8 or 9 on the difficulty scale, and, if they can come down with it, the receivers are basically never in position to run after the catch.

  5. With Rattler’s playstyle, in order to be effective you can’t turn the ball over, and he started turning the ball over.

  6. Who gives a shit.

He’s benched because he is a key component in losing us games without week to week improvement.

Move on and support the starter.

  7. Get over it. DA exposed him. Make him throw over 8 yards and he’s cooked. Take away the run game, get the offense in 3rd and long and it’s over.

  8. Yeah everyone here will regret how this worked out. Shough is horrible. Rattler couldn’t elevate this horrible roster, but he isn’t horrible like Shough will be.

  9. Dang patriots really got another franchise qb already. Meanwhile brees may be all we ever get and will be clinging to the glory days for eternity

  10. How many attempts did he have in the red zone? That tells you everything about how much the coaching staff trusted him

  11. “Catchable ball” is such a laughable metric. Just because it’s “catchable” does not mean it’s a good pass. Rattler’s problem is he lacks anticipation/touch/accuracy. YAC is nonexistent with him and he doesn’t throw receivers open.

  12. 8th on this list correlates pretty closely with completion % (Rattler is 12th on that list).

Unfortunately that’s not good enough to rack up a lot of yards. He’s 27th in yards per attempt because of how short his passes are.

  13. The stat that does matter is 1-13, in a soft division and a pretty even overall league, that’s not an accident. What the chart does show is he’s easy to play against, opposition have a smaller area to defend to shut him down. And that’s exactly what has happened.

  14. This is some top tier cope that doesn’t pass the eye test. Have yall seen Sam Darnold this year? Matt Stafford can still drop dimes and Love is pretty great leading the #1 team in the NFC.

Numbers never tell the whole story. And the fact that Rattlers % are only good in non first down range is a huge red flag. He isn’t on the 2000s Patriots who could do these short screen passes and they’d run for 20 yards after the catch.
