You could argue it’s not really that important that an owner stands on the sidelines as a recognizable face on the team. But when that owner is wearing a headset, taking notes, staying locked into every play, it means something different. Some owners (Jerry Jones and Woody Johnson come to mind) pride themselves on being hands-on. But what they do and what Irsay-Gordon does are two different things.
As a JETS fan, I can't stand our ownership. Yeah, let's use MADDEN ratings to make decisions 😐

It’s been half a season. Let’s see how things continue to go
As much as I love her as an owner, Jerry has 3 superbowls. She has one her just being a part of the family.
She hasn’t really made any major decisions yet. Will be interesting to see what she does (if anything) with Ballard this year
SHES HASNT DONE ANYTHING!!! Everything happening now she inherited. She has made 0 roster or coach decisions.
I agree it’s a little too early to make grand proclamations about the new generation of Irsay ownership. But I agree with the thrust of the article.
What’s refreshing is she’s treating it like a business operation she actually is invested in owning and running like a professional rather than enjoying the franchise like it’s a little toy car she gets to play with and bring to show and tell.
You’re delusional.
She has been owner for less than 1/2 of a season, and you are comparing her to folks who have been owners for decades.
Calm down, little buddy.
I’m a fan of another team but I’ve really enjoyed watching this story unfold this season (along with the broader Colts redemption arc).
If someone wants to be an involved owner, *this* is how it’s done; put in the hours, do the work, be on the sidelines rather than the luxury suite, be part of the process to understand the inner workings. Anything less is just high-level meddling.
No doubt!
If the team were playing poorly she’d be pilloried for the sideline/note taking thing.
And then we’d have a billion articles and tweets accusing everyone who criticized her as misogynist.
When teams are winning everything smells like roses.
