Tampa Bay Buccaneers Get A Double Dose Of Good News During The Bye Week
All right, what is up everybody? Let’s talk some Tampa Bay Buccaneers football. Hey, if you are new to this channel, my name is Craig. Me and my buddy Chris started this channel. We’re Lions fans. We are. And uh we we admit that, but we loved starting this channel because we wanted to talk about other teams that we felt like the national media ignored. Now granted, we started this channel a few years ago when the Lions were still being ignored. I feel like they do get some press, but not nearly as much as they should still. And Tampa Bay is always kind of been one of those teams. Really, every team in the NFC South falls under that, except maybe the Saints. And uh anyways, with all that being said, let’s talk some Tampa Bay football. And before we get rolling on the double dose of good news that they got with rookies, I have two things for you. Uh story story time will come at the end. First is a question. Jason Lic like do you like this guy as a GM? He’s been there for over a decade now. no matter what happens, he just keeps reinventing success. I think some GMs get stuck in we’re going to do it this way, we’re going to do it that way. And he is like, nope, we are going to do it with um a old quarterback, we are going to do it with a retread quarterback, and we are going to do it with an offensive-minded head coach. We are going to do it with a defensive-minded head coach. He doesn’t care. and he is going to get he is going to find a way to match a roster to what his coach is and get it done and then he is going to draft successfully for that. And I want to talk about two players in specific um as we’re kind of have some time. You got some you can breathe. All right. And the Bucks have time to get healthy this week. So let’s talk about two guys that he drafted this year. The first one is simple and easy. It’s the second one that I’m excited to talk about. The first one is a person who is getting some definite NFL offensive rookie of the year um glout or clout. All right, and that is a Eggbuka. He has been fantastic. All right, he’s been fantastic. You don’t need to doubt that. Um this is very interesting to me though because um when you when you look at what he’s done, this is according to PFF. He’s grading out as 31st of 70 qualifying wide receivers. Um, here’s what’s interesting to me. Uh, his receiving yards are seventh. He has five touchdowns. Like, he’s playing really, really well, but as of late, and I think a lot of it’s some of the injury, he’s clearly playing through an injury. Um, but 34 receptions on 61 targets isn’t phenomenal. So, I would look for um that to be uh a little bit increased over the by-week as he gets healthy. I would love to see what that looks like. Um, you can see here like, hey, against Philly, against Seattle, things were going really, really well. Injury happens and then there are some struggles against Detroit and the Saints. Um, and so like I would look for that to get even better. I really would. I really would. But the guy that I want to talk about is is right here, and it is Jacob Parish. Um, this is pretty cool. nickel corner. He is playing he’s rated 35th among 113 qualifying cornerbacks. Uh but here’s what’s very interesting about him. His coverage grade is fine and he has some good stats that we’ll get into in a minute, but his run defense is phenomenal. I don’t think anybody expected it to be that good. Um he is 10th in total solo tackles amongst all corners. All right. He is seventh in total pressure or he has seven total pressures which is first amongst all corners. Usually rookies aren’t that adept to getting a good pass rush on them. And he’s ninth in receptions allowed with only 27. Honestly, I thought that was pretty impressive the way these these numbers all kind of stack up. And um this is this is pretty cool. Um Joe Bucks fan. All right. the most popular blog on the internet, which is hilarious. Um, that’s what he says. He did some comparisons. All right. And he got angry, I think, because there was this there was this that was put out um by the NFL. Who you got defensive rookie of the year? And you got Jiad Campbell, you got Abdul Carter, and Nick Amani on the cover of this bad boy. Who you got? who’s your rookie of the year or defensive rookie of the year. And then he goes out and he puts out this little gem right here. Jacob Parish has two sacks, five tackles for loss, three pass deflections, and 37 tackles. Campbell Carter and Emmani combined have half a sack, five tackles for loss, four pass deflections, and 83 tackles. So, he beats them, which is hilarious, or ties them in two of the categories. Um, has one less pass deflected, and obviously the tackles is where the biggest difference is made. Um, look, those numbers don’t tell the whole story, but what it does tell is that you have a player that is playing beyond what it is. And do I think some of it is because of where those other guys are from? Of course, I think some of that’s where it’s from. All right. He didn’t play at a blueb blood college program. All right. Eggbuka was Ohio State. So, he’s going to get love. You get to benefit from that. Um Campbell was Alabama. Carter was Penn State. And yes, Emmany didn’t play for a blueb blood. He played for South Carolina. However, he’s playing really well. And he was in the SEC. All right. Paris was at Kansas State. It was in the Big 12. And the Big 12 isn’t what the Big 12 used to be. So, I just thought that was interesting. Um, another reason for that probably when you look at PFF, as far as PFF ratings go, has the top 15 rookies through week eight and Mitchell Evans, tight end for the Panthers. I don’t know if that even counts. All right, because he’s not doing a ton of stuff, but Jiad Campbell is right there at number two. All right, that’s he’s number two. Emani is number three for his overall grade. So that’s probably a lot of the reason you see Cam Scataboo here. Feel bad for him. Your guys don’t actually make the list. Now, if you were to ask people around the league, would you rather have a Mecca Ibuka or T McMillan? I have a feeling it’d be about a 50/50 response. T McMillan has played very well for the Panthers, and they’re different types. Um, but with all of that being said, I think a lot of people would still like to take Ebuka in that one. Here’s basically the gist of what I’m trying to say here. Um, if I am a Tampa Bay Buccaneers fan, I am just I’m just so happy with the state of the organization. Like, you’re six and two when you were pretty banged up. Yes, you lost to the Lions and the Legion of Whom, which is still a great nickname. Come on, you got to admit it if you know the Legion of Boom in Seattle. And we had nobody in that secondary in that game. But, um, you were banged up on the offensive side, too. And you came back and while still banged up, you were able to, you know, defensively dominate an inferior New Orleans Saints team. And this is just a team that is, it’s just talented. And to be able to do this, uh, for the length that that he’s done it, um, it’s a fun program to watch. So hopefully you enjoy the fandom and realizing that there’s not a lot of teams that get consistent winning seasons. All right. No, maybe it’s been a second since you’ve been 13 and three or 13 and four now that it’s 17 games or 12 and five. Um but you’re kind of on your way this year and things could go really really well. So, keep Baker healthy, keep him upright, enjoy the roster that you have created, and see if some noise can be made when you make the playoffs. All right, thanks for watching. I disagree, The Falcons have been hyped the past two years as the team who will win the division. How has that played out for them so far. They need to take betting out of sports again, there have been many shitty and questionable calls the entire season. Includes all games, even against the lions. The only difference is the bucs should had won against the eagles if not for the ref interreference. Lions honestly straight up man handled us though. I feel comfortable about saying yeah, they actually beat us even though the refs sucked. They also tried to pull the upset with the Jets and we still won (watch the calls in the 4th.)
Parris is honestly really really good.
Hell yeah Jason is a beast GM. he is very smart
His name is not Licked, it’s Light. Jason Licht, pronounced like a lightbulb. Please pronounce the guys name right before you talk about how he has done at his job (which is absolutely amazing).
you kinda stole this narrative from JBF wtf
This is why pff is such a joke.
😊yea i like Jason licht
Jason Licht is a Super Bowl winning general manager and loaded our team with talented players from the draft and free agency. We just need better edge rushers
Parrish is off the hinges. Bowles has a very good young DB room that the Bucs have not had since he’s been here.
Love the content as a Bucs fan LOL always had much respect for the lions also. I think as teams that used to be consistently bad we head nod to each other as we’ve turned things around.
Divide the 83 tackles by 3 and you get 28 tackles per person, which is a lot less than Parrish’s 37 tackles.
Buc fan here. Like your channel but you need to learn hot to pronounce our GM's last name. It is pronounced with a long I. His last name sounds like light not lick.
