POSTGAME POD: Celtics role players step up in NBA Cup win over Sixers
Celtics Talk podcast is presented by 24autogroup.com. New England gets more at 24. What’s up everybody? Three straight wins, Chris. Three straight wins. The vibes in this room have been just growing better and better and better. Happy Halloween everybody. Celtics win 109 108 down in Philadelphia. Had it the whole way. Had it the whole way. There’s no doubt about it. You know, 24-point lead uh for the Celtics in the first half. They they’re up 11 at half. I was like, I’ve seen this movie. Yeah. The the game is then tied. Then they go on a 17 to five run. It’s like, okay, they’re up 10 with a few minutes to go. Everything’s fine. And yet it all came down to uh not one but two defensive stops. And the Celtics make the plays, which they did not do when Philly was here on opening night, and find a way to win. And I think that matters. Like I always say there’s no pictures on the scorecard. We used to when it’s a team like last year we’d always fret like ah it wasn’t even like a nice win. This year like wins are wins or wins. No style points doesn’t matter. You are especially when it comes to the NBA cup and the Emirates Cup whatever we’re calling it this year. It is all about you know just survive and advance. Didn’t really do any benefits to the uh point differential. So they’re going to have to really going to have to crank it up a little bit depending on like how the next few games go. But going into Philly who was undefeated, who was vibing, who had come back in like nine straight games in the fourth quarter and found a way to win and you can see why the Sixers are that team again. You know, Tyrese Maxi shakes loose for a three. Celtics go to double team Embiid and that leaves VJ Edgecomb open for a three. It’s just little plays like that allowed Philly to kind of get back in it, but they had to make the shots and uh yeah, it was it was a little nerve-wracking in that final those closing moments there. dare I say the trick-or- treat Celtics because some moments they look so good and some moments they look so bad but they found a way to win. So Giles, yeah, what is your headline tonight? My headline as it relates back to the season opener is Celts flip the script in the final 30 seconds because if you look at it the season opener, right, the Celtics were the ones that were down by one in the final 30 seconds. You saw VJ Edgecomb miss a couple free throws that allowed Pton Pritchard to get one look and then a second look. this situation. It’s the Celtics up by one, Philadelphia trying to take the lead. You had Josh Min missing a couple free throws. Sixers get two cracks at it. And you know, I I I guess they got a decent look on on the first one, but the second one they didn’t even get off. So, it was it was interesting to me in the fact that both games decided by one point and it was the the team making the defensive stop that that won the game in the final seconds. And how crazy that uh we spent so much time in the aftermath of that game going, “Man, how does Jaylen Brown not get one of those opportunities?” Now, they did get Maxi a look on the first possession. It was like a really good like as soon as they started drawing up, I said, “All you want is Maxi with a head of steam.” And that scared me because now, you know, Mod as good as he was defensively in this game is on his heels and you’re going to get screened somewhere. And sure enough, they get exactly what they want. Uh but credit to the Celtics, they forced a missed. Uh May not closes out the possession even though he was, you know, kind of falling chasing from behind, gets the possession. The Sixers clearly draw up another look for Maxi. As Scal said, maybe overthought it a little bit too much. Instead of going right back to Maxi with a head of steam, they try to get him coming off a couple screens. Jaylen Brown heads up play, switches the screen, denies the inbound so they get it to Grimes, and then kind of like uh uh Jaylen kind of cheats over so that they can’t have a passing lane back to Maxi. just high level execution for a team that really couldn’t get out of its own way for much of the fourth quarter. Yeah. And uh it I think it’s a it’s good and you were talking about this, but it’s good for them to win a close game, too. You know, they were able to blow out New Orleans with a a strong finish there. Cleveland they uh separated themselves from. So, those were the first two wins that were, you know, they kind of just uh took off late in those games. This one to me was all right, you got to make plays. you got to make plays on the road against a team that is is trying to give you their best punch. So I this is the type of season and the type of team you got to take wins any way you can and and I think that maybe until tonight you would still look back and maybe we will still look back at the season opener and say that was one that got away from them. So, um I think that whole first week, the more the further remove and the further we see like what this team is capable of, it makes it a little bit more maddening that if even if they just don’t give up as many second chance points on opening night, if they’re a little bit more crisp to the finish line of that game, if they know how to play with a lead, like if they don’t lose their mind, now I think we’ve seen there there’s going to be some wild inconsistencies this year. They’re still figuring out exactly how this looks. You know, until Derek White and Pton Pritchard kind of lock in a little bit more, it’s going to be a little bit up and down. But Jaylen Bar Brown has been super steady, has been big in those moments. You know, I wonder what happens if he gets a final look in that first game. And does he produce a winner? And do we feel different about the tenor of the season if they don’t start 0 and3? Like there’s been a lot of good strides here and I think it’s reflected in you find a way to win instead of finding a way to lose. And you also got contributions uh across the board. Across the board from absolutely everybody. Chris, what are you going with for a headline? And I’m talk about a pro there, Jos, because you are leading right into my headline, which is the bench. And I I would I would even just say the bench. I would just say all the role players on this team have been superstars in their roles because I want to include Minot in this because every podcast is now has to have at least like five sponsored minutes of Chris Forsber talking about Josh Minot. And so I thought gave him a good burst at the start, had his moments throughout this game. I thought the most important part was he defended Maxi. So after the makes, especially in the first half, he would pick up full court on Maxi, make him at least work to get up the court. He would try to chase him around on on the defensive end. They would sometimes switch stuff like just to try to keep a body on him. They were much more attached than they were in the first meeting. They never let him get feeling as comfortable as he did. What did Nexi finish with? I mean, he still got 26 on eight of 16. It’s hard to say. He came in a 37 and a half. Yeah, it’s like it they to keep a guy 11 points below average is like it feels like a win for the night and so I really like that they just were a little bit more engaged and I think again it started with Mon doesn’t play a ton in this game 22 minutes. Didn’t you find that weird? Hold on. I just want to bring that up because it felt like for much of the second half he wasn’t in there like he I think he was in there at the beginning of the third quarter and then you didn’t see him again till like the final five minutes. So two early fouls and he got pulled and so I think that limited his overall time. I do think it was weird that they didn’t go back to him as much in the second half. I don’t know if that’s again there was a there’s a sequence you can see when he’s coming out after that second foul like Joe is screaming at him on the way to the bench and he has been very very tough on Mod just because one and you know we talk about this all the time right they’re not hard on you unless they think you can give more and be better and I think he understands how vital Josh is to this because they’ve just been so much better since he’s entered that starting lineup but he also has to you know fight through screens a little bit more he needs to not cheat off defenders and it’s just like little stuff. He’s still making so many hustle and and grit plays that um that I think really have have just turned the season around. But um yeah, a little I’m a little surprised that number wasn’t as high. I you know play what I would think played into it is Xavier Tilman plays 13 minutes in this game. They love putting Tilman out there against Embiid. Yeah. And he had some big minutes down the stretch. He had a huge three and also a big another big two. I was there was multiple points where I was screaming at at Scale that we have to give Xavier Tilman the the Tommy award because I just felt like he had enough little moments where, you know, if he I think he had a second look in an open three and if he had knocked that down, I was like, we’re going that way. And uh but just the defense against Embiid, the switchability, versatility that he gives you. I mean, I think he was out there for that that that final possession against Maxi, right? Like he was the one that that that deterred the the shot before Min closed it out. Um, I just like the way that I mean Tilman’s got to know from night to night he might not get in there, right? And yet when he’s called upon, he’s ready. And uh, how about Luca Garza, too? I mean, in the in the third quarter in particular, when this game was tight, uh, I I can’t remember the two that he had set up and then made a three on the on the uh, following possession. Just they had a quick five points or nine and all, but he had a little push shot and then got in the corner. you can see him turn toward the Philly bench because they were probably giving him some grief about whether he was going to make that shot. I guess just looking at that it’s it’s to your point the the role players kind of stepping up in different moments in this game which you know it felt like in those first few games of the season you’d get one or two guys to kind of pop. You weren’t getting a collection of guys and this felt more like a collection of guys having their moment in this game 100%. And SC love to point this out like every starter was in the negative tonight. Yep. So even though Jaylen Brown goes for 32 points and was like just vital to to winning this game, he’s a minus 11 overall. You know, minus4 from Mina, – 3K to minus4 Pritchard, minus 15 Derrick White, people love when you read box scores on podcasts. They love it. Um and but everybody on the bench had good numbers and Anthony Simons, who we haven’t even talked to about being a star in their role, plus 23 while going for 19 points on seven of 21 shooting. Wasn’t super efficient, but there were large stretches of this game where you just needed some offense and Anthony Simons gave it to you. So I I I might even save Ugo for the lightning round because there was like nine different sequences, but dude just comes in and plays hard. Yeah. And like good things happen. I think what Joe is trying to show everybody is just come in and play your ass off for five minutes. And that’s all I want from you. If shots go in, great. But if you just play hard and play defense, like you have a role on this team. Yeah. which the like guys like Baylor Shyman probably need to to figure out as well. You there was a great sequence at the end of the first quarter where Kada had the block on one end and then it went back the other way for the Ugo three just you know that that to me is kind of like all the role players kind of rolled up into one and Kada had a few big blocks in this game as well. You know just four points and and four rebounds but had a few big blocks in in a game where he didn’t play as many minutes. So good. And I’m just I’m just really excited because if you if you had told me coming into the year, what’s your biggest concern, you know, but beyond just the big man depth, I think I would have said depth in general. You don’t lose Christophs, Luke, and Drew and and and Al, and all these players and then just like magically replace them. That you found someone who seems like a legitimate piece of the next puzzle in May not is great. That Garza and H Ugo and everybody seems like they, you know, could be have their roles this year and maybe even deeper into the future. uh is really really encouraging. So uh shout out to the bench for just being ready for it. And you know that’s what’s and Buchet who was one of your best players in the preseason has been a DMP lately and I think he will find times to contribute like this. It’s again it’s almost like the Tilman theory where there’s nights there’s going to be a Tilman night. It’s going to be nice Bouche night and I think Buchche will find it. He’s been around too long not to to get it going. So shout out to the bench man like they they’ve just been just been bringing it. They have. They have. Um, okay. Now, let’s talk about Jaylen Brown because I mean 30 32 points. He had 16 in the first quarter like right away. His first stretch of the game 16 points. He’s been scoring so incredibly efficiently so far this year, last few games. So, he was four of seven on the threes, I think. I mean, last time I looked, he was up like 47% for threes, and he was 13 of 19 from the field in general. It’s It’s kind of crazy how efficient he’s been and and he’s not getting to the free throw line as much as he probably should. You wonder if that that’ll turn a corner too when he’s feeling when the hamstrings feeling good and exploding to the basket a little bit more. Um yeah, we we were we did it the other night. We were joking. We said uh every night on our program on our postgame show, it feels like it takes 20 minutes to get to the Jaylen Brown segment and yet he’s just been so good. It almost feels offensive that we’re not there. But it’s been the role players have been so good. they tend to take a little bit of that spotlight or just, you know, finding a way to win. Uh Jaylen deserves a ton of credit for gutting it out, you know, while dealing with this hamstring. You know, 0 and three, we know the situation. Could have taken the night off in New Orleans, decided to play, helped get this thing on track, has had big nights, has had nights where he set everybody else up like the night in Philly, the the the first game against Philly, where got guys open shots, they just didn’t knock them down. uh but feels like he’s playing the right way and doing everything he can to steer this team the right way. Absolutely. Um and and again just it’s this is a Celtics team that you brought up the depth of this team. I I kind of wondered going into the year, can they get enough scoring from even their stars to fill that out and fill that up before you have to get to the depth of it? And uh so far Jaylen Brown has has answered the call every time. Six assists as well to go along with those 32 points. All right. You ready to do a little lightning round? Okay. Uh I said we were going to get back to Ugo. Uh Ugo nearly died in this game. He tried he he tried to chase down Quentyn Grimes on a breakaway and ended up doing like a helicopter into the stin. Um he had a play where the ball squirted into the back court and it was clear he had zero chance to get it. But he still I think watching that live I was like is that going to stay? Is that going to stay? And then it was it was like watching a ball dribble down the third baseline. You’re like is that going to stay fair? and it was no chance. Uh, but he still went to the ground to try to make something happen. Had a breakaway dunk off of a Sam Hower steel. I go back to it. There’s going to be moments where you’re where Ugo struggles. Um, but he was he did wasn’t bashful with his three-point shot. He had one look right in front of Joe where I was like, “Oh man, if he doesn’t take this, Joe’s going to pull him.” You know, because they they needed him to be offensively aggressive. Um, I thought he he played really well. He had one and he admitted it afterward. You’ll hear that in a second. He had one bad foul against Joel Embiid and got kicked in the jewels for his troubles, but like I thought Ugo was really good and you know it’s not a ton of time, but 1433 and he just seems okay with I’m a rookie. It’s going to be a little bit of a roller coaster and I thought he was super impactful. Three offensive rebounds for Ugo. Celtics in general had 16 offensive rebounds. They outscored the Sixers as far as second chance points 17 to1. Outrebounded the Sixers 45 to 40. and on the offensive glass 16 to9. So the rebounding Joe brought it up pretty early in his press conference as well. Uh so because people can’t get enough Ugo. Uh let’s listen to some back in the locker room. How do you like this role where you’re coming into the game to guard some of the best players? Like did you expect that and how do you feel like you’re doing? Um well I’m enjoying my role um type of things um that this coaching staff is asking me to do. Um, I’m pretty happy with with anything they they they got for me cuz they uh looking for team success and also looking for my for my own development. So, anything they got for me, I’ll I’ll take it. You did that sometimes with Real E Forier and some other guys over there. When did you start doing that for them sometimes? And do you feel like that prepares you for this? Well, obviously when you’re when you’re a young player, um basic thing that they’re going to ask you and 99% of the times that you got to be able to defend and whenever you’re opening sharply with confidence, whatever, but that’s a primary iss. And so I want to get minutes on this team, I need to defend. When you saw Quinton Grimes going toward the basket for a dunk, uh did you think you were going to catch him? Did did you really care about that or was it just hustling to get there, try to make a difference that way? Yeah, I mean if if I if I see somebody that is going to try to make a D in our basket, I’ll I’ll go 100 times with the I don’t care the result. I’m I’m not allowing or we’re not allowing easy baskets. And if I got the opportunity to hustle that and if it’s on my hand, I’m going to do it 100 times. So basically it when you checked out of the game, Joe kind of like patted you on the back when you patted him on the back. What was his message to you after that last play when you you fouled? Well, it was more like um you did a great job, but obviously you got to know that you got to have always in every play, especially me concentration. That was a bad foul. Um that’s a foul that um wasn’t required for the time and the momentum of the game. So, basically just giving me a feedback and just cheering me up and um getting me prepared just in case I need to come back to the game. when you have different minutes on different nights, how are you able to have the ability to come in and make the impact that you did here tonight? Well, I think that’s more like uh you just got to be prepared. Sometimes the the matchups and whatever they they ask you to to play more, to play less, you got to be you got to be able to to manage those type of situations. I think that it would be really selfish and if you think that you’re going to play, especially in my case right now that I’m going to pay 35 minutes every single night, that that wouldn’t be the case uh right now, but you’re going to be able to to do whatever they ask you. If they ask you to to guard the best player, you got to do it for the team. So, basically it. All right. Lightning round really wasn’t lightning when we’re talking to But like, you know, I don’t make the rules. Um let’s uh let let’s uh go through a few more of these things. Uh Derek White. Yeah. What’s going on with the shot with I mean poor guy got knocked in the head at the end of the game. It was ironically like on Halloween you’re going to be seeing people with like the fake like wounds you know like like the makeup artist they’ll put on and everything else. Derek White was wearing a real one right on like the corner here just like little egg like everything. Um do do you worry at all? I don’t I don’t worry about him. It’s I’d be worried if he was forcing bad shots. And there was one game, was it New York, where he was kind of double clutching the three-point shot a little bit there. There just felt like there was a hesitation there. I didn’t think he was taking bad shots. He just had some open looks that he couldn’t hit. Um it’s got to come around at some point between him and Peyton Pritchard who is one of nine from three. Y like the fact that they’re three and three. They’ve won these last few games and they’re not even getting great shooting from their two best shooters. I mean that’s that’s plus money. That’s house money there. I feel like a little bit of a broken record on the pod because for the three wins I keep saying well you know they’re doing this and Derek and Pritchard really haven’t benefiting from three-point. I mean even Pritchard tonight they’re combined three of 16. Unbelievable. One of nine on three-pointers and I mean he was super effective inside the arc and he’s and that probably deserves its own segment about mid-range P. Uh but like if what happens when when those two guys get going, you feel pretty good about where this team is at. Well, there was a point in the first half where you already felt pretty good about where this team was at when they had a 24-point lead. That was the other thing, too. Like at halftime, you bring up the three-point shooting. They were attacking with the mid-range as you just brought up like crazy. I mean, uh well, let’s let’s do it. Mid lightning round topic. Mid-range mid-range Celtics just the way everyone thought. Joe Misol taking tons of mid-range shots. I can’t remember what the numbers were at halftime. Uh, but the Celtics had something like, you know, I think it was like 21. See, I tried to do the math and was like, you know, throw some I had I just don’t have the Yeah, I don’t have the the box score from don’t worry about it. My point was though that slow. I think they had nine threes in the first half and maybe like 18 twos. M. So they made an effort to get in there and uh get some easy buckets and before you knew it and then you start making a couple threes that the league’s just growing and growing and kind of felt like wow they they might just totally crush Philadelphia here. Didn’t happen. But what’ you think of the court? Uh court was fine to me. It’s it’s always jarring at first. Yeah, it’s always jarring the first few minutes of the game and they just get used to it. I don’t mind the blue. Something something about I mean the blue was fine. The red ring around I didn’t love. Um, I know it’s their colors, but like I don’t know. It just felt like it needed a neutral or something like that. Can I bring up a concern? The Sure. Lightning round. We’ll do concerns. Okay. Lightning round concern. Closing out quarters. Oh, probably should have been a It could have been It could have been the lead topic. It would have been the lead topic had they lost the game. Uh, great first half, everyone’s vibing, and then they just forget how to play basketball for for four minutes or so. Uh, and then, you know, same deal. It’s uh end of third quarter was not great. uh 100% I guarantee you Joe Missoula who is big on like three things margins generating two-on ones offensively and closing quarters is going to sit there and in whatever brief film session they have before Houston will be on them about that 174 Philly run to close out the second quarter and then they continue with a 15-4 run to start the third quarter was a 32 to8 run to tie the game he’s got them ready for more more selection more savings means more ways to win during the drive for more savings event at Chrysler Jeep 24. Shoot to save more up to $1,500 more. Plus, during the drive it to fall event, lease a new Jeep Grand Cherokee for just $2.85 a month. And get more for your trade with up to $2,400 over book value. Family-owned and operated. You’ll save more at Chrysler Jeep 24. New England gets more at Chrysler Jeep 24. Houston tomorrow night. Yes. How you feeling about that? You know, it’s it’s a daunting task considering their size. Uh Houston’s bigger than even they want to be because Fred Van Vleet there. He he would normally be starting for them, right? 100%. And he’s not on the floor. So that means that they are gigantic across the board, which gave up a ton of size. Like I almost wonder, do you stay big? I guess you have no choice. Stay big with who? I mean, may not and do. Is this a Buché night? Maybe. I I just even at their biggest, they’re not as big as Houston. Yeah. I mean, I you you can’t even like stack people on top of each other. It’s almost like you you can’t Why are you going to change what you do to try to compete with what they’ll still be able to do better than you as far as size goes? I’m intrigued. Five and seven nights. Uh I’ll be interested to see if everyone’s out there for the Celtics and how it looks. The Rockets are well rested. They’ve turned the corner, 0 and2 start, won their last two. We know what a challenge it will be. EOA on the other side. There’s a whole bunch of storylines. It’s going to be a fun game. Uh, you know, so we’ll we’ll see how it goes. Uh, plenty of time to break that down tomorrow night on the pod. Best Halloween costume when you were a kid. I was literally a baseball one year. Like a a giant baseball. That’s one I remember. Um, when you start I thought you been like a baseball player. No, no, this was just like a baseball. Just a baseball. It was like I was like an orb. Like a white orb. like had the stitches on it and everything. Did anyone try to take a bat to you? So, those jokes were made. I think I was still young enough that no one actually did it. At least not with like If you had been a teen, there probably would have been like chaos. Yeah. Uh but yeah, I remember that one as a kid. I I don’t know if I remember that that many. I was always I was like very regularly sports themed. I remember being like an Oakland Oakland A at one point because I’m 100 years old and Bash Brothers were popular. I remember being a Denver Bronco at one point because the Patriots were god awful. Um and then eventually like I started wearing uh Boston sports stuff. My my favorite and I I reprised us on Boston Sports Tonight at one point was uh Gar from Wayne’s World. Oh, and uh I was I uh I was I was Wayne one year. Oh, we should have gone together. Yeah, I was Wayne one year. Swing. Uh would have been great if we had uh who would have thought we have our own little like this is practically Wayne’s world like the way we produce this thing. So, uh, it might as well be, uh, uh, one day we’ll just have to we’ll have to break out those costumes. Um, how about Scal being the only one of us that actually showed up ready for Halloween? He showed up like like in a costume. He’s like, “What? You didn’t dress up?” I’m like like this is something we would probably discuss like ahead of time, right? Left me and Giles scrambling to, you know, match. The irony there as well. Like, if anything, wouldn’t you expect that like we would have costumes on and he’d be the one person. That was actually my fear. I was like, I don’t want to be the only one who shows up in a costume. Anyway, Scout walks through and he’s got his flannel on and his main Celtics jersey. I mean, never good would you have to explain your costume, but like, you know, it was worth a shot. I liked it. Yeah. Yeah. Uh big Cooper flag guy. Big maniac guy. Big Cooper flag. It It is like interesting. Here we are sitting hours later, but we started the night like with that kind of vibe. It was, you know, nice fun pregame show. Yeah. Everyone’s, you know, having fun and and goofing off. And then he got down to the the end of the game, man. It was like there would there would be no costumes in that postgame show. We cannot we cannot go down this road. Uh who speaking of baseballs, uh who wins the World Series? Well, I think it’s uh it’s official. There’s a game seven. Oh, it is official. Huh. I have no idea who’s pitching. I am a baseball guy. I have no idea who’s pitching game seven. If it is, I mean, I I would think the Dodgers are going to be favored. That means they got to win two in Toronto. I I I It’s I should have told you this. I would like to see I would like to see Toronto win. Same. We’ll see if they can rise to the occasion. The Dodgers have been there. You’ve heard my my Toronto story, but when I was uh a young lad, my parents loved to uh to vacation north of the border. Uh often in Nova Scotia, uh but we uh gradually made our way across much of Canada. And so, uh, one year when I was in my Oakland A’s Revalry, uh, they bought tickets to, or we scalped tickets to a game at Skydome right after it had opened, which was an experience in and of itself, right? Like this is, you know, marvel of a stadium, retractable roof. U, I think we sat in a hard rock cafe in the outfield and watched BP. It was amazing. Paid like a million dollars for a plate of wings. And then we watched Dave Stewart throw a no hitter for the Oakland. Oh, that’s wild. And I was like, “What are the chances?” Like, you just scalp a random game. Uh, and then pretty much immediately after that, I was like, “Boy, baseball is super boring. I don’t want to ever watch this sport again.” Uh, and I really didn’t. But, uh, it was an amazing experience as a kid, and I always appreciated that even though I was a little jerk of a kid wearing Oakland A stuff in the in the visiting uh, arena, no, none of the fans really gave me any crap. They were they were respectful. Was good, right? They were like, and so I was always like, you know, Canadians, very polite, very, very much so. Uh, so, and I have now as as an older uh person, uh, I love going to Toronto and one of my favorite cities that we go to, Billy Bishop Airport is top five airport in the world for like flying into and amazingness. Um, great city of Toronto, like going in the summer, like sell the same thing if people were coming here. Um, yeah, like a Porter Airlines, everything. Everything. I’m just I’m gushing about Canada right now. So, uh, go Blue Jays. Then plus they have like every kid of a famous 90s baseball player plays for the the for them. So, Bobette, Vlad Jr. Lot of fun. Watch. Same deal. I was a big We eventually went to Montreal and did an Expose game. I I enjoyed that. So, interesting. Yeah. I’ve never did for you. My kids, the Expos, they used to be a baseball team, right? They drafted Tom Brady. That’s right. Wild. Look at this. We just brought it from Change it to the Patriots talk logo. Um, all right. Any final thoughts before we get out of here? Favorite favorite Halloween candy? Uh, I’ll I’ll eat it. I mean, the Kit Kats, Milky Ways, uh, Almond Joy has become a big favorite in my adult years. Yes. Coconut, no good as a kid. I don’t know what I was thinking. Delicious. Lifelong coconut fan hair. I am all in. And and you know, like I’ll settle for my own, but an almond joy is where it’s at. Yeah, agreed. Uh, I hope my children are ready for they’ll be fast asleep by the time I get home, but I cannot wait to raid the candy bag. Yeah. Then you hate milk duds apparently. We’ve covered that in the pregame show. So I don’t say I again I will say they’re they’re very inefficiently packed. Like they’re supposed like two in a box. has any other team had two back to back games in their first 7? Not only that but facing cavs on the second and now Houston… who did we piss off in the league office? lol
JB has become a good help defender. He was already a good on-ball defender. This team is serious. He’s still our most efficient offensive player and provides the majority of our offensive power/presence.
DW and PP will come around. Still combined they had 30 points and 9 assists. Not worried as a Celtic fan. The rest of the league should be worried when they get going
Tillman was so clutch switching onto Maxey and forcing a tough shot in that second-to-last attempt.
Love Garza and Tillman’s minutes. Never thought I’d say that!
it's all about the culture and the attitude, as it's always been with the celtics throughout history. this team has a little bit of the same feeling those IT teams had, figuring out the line ups, but the grit and the first sparks of chemistry are showing, i'm hopeful for this squad.
What happened to CHRIS
BOUCHER?
