You are watching Landram Cardinals football here on Upstate Prepcast powered by Wings etc. Wings etc. Good food, great times, award-winning wings and amazing etc. 2644 Bowling Springs Road, Bowling Springs, South Carolina. Our first time being able to bring that to you here and we are grateful to the principal here of Chznney High School, Mr. Steven Pisaro for the ability. Like I said, it’s been under contractual uh restrictions of previous years, but this now no longer the case. and we got to go ahead and we’re much grateful to be here live and in video which means all of our games this year were able to be live and in video and we are grateful for that. Land room Cardinals coming into town to face the Chesn Eagles. Land room 3 and six on the year 0 and three in region play. Chzn 4-5, 1-2 in region play and tonight for both these teams a must-win contest if they want to continue their season in these seniors careers. Uh pretty much the layout of the land is for Landram. They have to win to force a potential three-way tie. Um and then that goes to points allowed amongst the three teams which are Chznney, Landram, and Blackburg, which would be tied if Landram were to win. For the Chesn Eagles, a win and they’re in. And there’s no worry about a tie record. They likely go to the third seed. Blackburg would finish fourth. So lot on the line tonight for the Cardinals. Cardinals need to really win this game and give up no more than 40 points to claim that tiebreaker. Blackburg already in the clubhouse if you want to borrow a golf term. Having given up six points to Landram, 48 to Chzn. So Landram having given up 14. You do the math. 40 points a win and less than 40 points could get you into the playoffs here tonight if you’re the Landram Cardinals. We got a lot more to cover about tonight’s game, but we’re right now going to go to our GSP Security pregame show coaches interview. GSP Security. This show presented by Teddy Laster Racing Stables in addition to the Brier Patch of Campabelloo, Inman Fast Stop, Pool Time and Supplies of Bowling Springs, Peach Country of Campabelloo, and now from the Southside Smokehouse and Grill in Landram, South Carolina, your host Steve Roer and Kevin Jackson with head coach of the Landram Cardinals, Mike Reed for over 30 years. Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen, to the Southside smokehouse here at the Landram South Carolina. Landram Cardinals coaches football show here on Upstate Prepcast presented by Teddy Laster Racing Stables. Coach Reed here with me now and we’re going to talk about that big region matchup coach over in Chesn this Friday night. a lot of playoff implications. A very complicated situation if you come out with a victory. Yeah, I mean if we come out with a victory, it’s gonna be a three-way tie between us, Blackburg, and Chzn, and then it’s going to go to points allowed. So, you know, there’s a certain scenario where we do make the playoffs and there’s a certain scenario even if we win, we don’t make the playoffs. So, you know, we just got to take care and do our part and win and you know, everything else take care of itself. Coach, can you define elaborate? Is it that points allowed across all region games or just between the three? Between the three. Okay, that was the question. Yeah. So, no love lost between the two. I we just discussing a while ago. We haven’t beaten Chesnney since 200 what 20 se or 17 19 18 18 I’m told from the crowd. Do I hear 19 20 and a half? But uh anyway, coach, that’s a long little streak and those guys are always come in tough and ready to go, but we got to go over there, like I said, and play on the carpet. So, uh with this playoff implication and all that stuff in mind, how do you approach this week’s game mindset wise with these guys and let them know what’s going on? Well, you approach it like it’s a playoff game. I mean, you know, I told these guys Monday, this is this is your first round of playoffs. You’ve got to win. Um, and you know, I think our kids understand that, you know, if they want to keep on playing, they’ve got to win Friday night. Um, we, you know, losing, you know, the region games we have, we kind of put oursel in a bad situation, but, you know, it’s it’s a playoff game for us. We we win this game with a certain scenario. You know, we we still get in. So, you know, it’s got to be a playoff mindset. We had touched on the subject last week about coaching changes with this senior group that’s come through. They’ve undergone. This is the third coach for this group. It would be very very very special for this group who has, you know, provided much leadership this season. To see the team struggle, you know, on the opposite side of the scoreboard, but to to to squeak out a win this week, how special could that be for these guys? It’d be very special. Like I said before, you know, these guys have kind of went through the ringer. I mean, as far as, you know, the change of coaches and things like that, and it’s nothing nothing they can control and um, you know, it’ just be very special for these guys to go out, you know, getting in the playoffs, you know, possibly win a playoff game, you know, it, you know, it’s just they’ve worked hard, they deserve it, you know, but, you know, I told them, you know, sometimes in life you don’t get things you deserve. Well, coach, with all of that in mind, and we’re going over there this Friday night with the, you know, the intentions of playing as hard as you can and give it all you got. And I know seniors would do that because each snap of the ball could potentially be, you know, just one less time of um that you’re going to have in a Cardinal uniform. Yeah. So, um, last week we faced a team that bunched it up in there, ran a wing formation, something out of right 1960s, but it’s very effective. You know, I love the old offenses and if you got the big line to do it, you can you can do it. Well, what are we going to see this week? I mean, it’s going to be a similar similar type, but they’re going they’re throw it a little more than Liberty did. Um, their quarterback, he’s he’s a great player. He can run in, throw it, and they’ve got a north south wide receiver, so they obviously throw it a little bit, you know. Um, but you know, they’re going to be a kind of a wing team and they’ll get in the spread a little bit, but their spread’s different than our spread. Their spreads with two wings and then two split outs. Um, but they’re going to run, you know, similar stuff to Liberty. They’re going to run power counter. They’re going to run, you know, superpower, um, speed sweeps. It’s kind of pretty similar to what we saw last week, except it’s going to be they’re going to be a little more spread out. They’re not going to be footto. Um, but it’s going to be it’s going to be a challenge again. You know, each week, you know, like I said, I think before our region started, every every team in our region is good. You know, you got to bring your agame. Every region, every region game. Well, anytime you play Chesn, you got to bring your aame because it’s a very good program. Has been for many years. And uh they earn respect when they leave the field and and uh so yeah, got to go over there. Got to play as hard as you can. Try to play flawless football. I guess it’s the same OMO every week, coach. It never changes. All right. We want to thank Coach Reed, Avery West Vest, um, Coach Dylan Threadgill, and Brillan Revvice for joining us tonight. And as always, thank you Cardinal fans for tuning in and supporting Landram football all season long. But before we go close, Kevin wants to uh mention this, folks. Once again, we want to thank you for tuning in all season to the Landram Football Coaches Show. We again always give special thanks to Southside Smokehouse and Grill for being so gracious and uh allowing us to film here every week. It’s possible. We’ve had good weather, so we thank the good Lord up above for that. Um do want to give a special thanks to Travis and Holly Holly Gosnell for taking time out of their week every week to come out here and and prepare this area and Holly for serving all the people that come out and and Bruiser if you’re listening. And Bruiser if you’re listening. And uh so we give a special thanks to all those and of course coach Mike Reed for arranging all the players and coaches all season long and such. And we also want to give a special shout out to our sponsors that make this possible every week and stuff this season has been our primary sponsor has been Teddy Laster Racing Stables. And a big special shout out also we need to give to Rob and Justin for always being our camera operator and McIntyre and his son Justin. Yeah, Justin is a senior at Lander and he stepped up when Rob was having some medical issues earlier in the year. Filled in for his dad and we’ve just kept him and we like him. What is your son, Rob? Not so much, but the son. Yeah, your son’s We love you. We love you, Rob. Jonathan is this son. I meant the our Justin here. Oh, that Justin. Rob, step away from the camera. Come over here with us at the ending here for tonight. We want to get you on here. And uh Rob has just really was working the chain game there at Landon for many years and we brought him on last year on the sidelines and he’s just really really helped us out big time and a Friday night would not be possible ladies and gentlemen for you people at home who watch us without Rob and his son operating the camera sometimes on top of that press box in the cold sleep and rain coach. So, thanks to him and Rob and Jonathan for all and and Justin for coming help us on the coaching show on a PA level as well. All right, folks. Be sure and join us Friday night as the Landram Cardinals travel over to Chesnney, South Carolina to face the Eagles in a must-win playoff implications game. Everything’s on the line. This is for all the beans, all the marbles and the rest of the collard greens. Kevin, beans. Oh, beans. Oh, that’s right. So, uh, if you can’t join us at the stadium, look us up on what, Kevin? www.upstateprepcast.net/landram. And for the first time, we’re going to be able to bring you video from Chznney. All right, welcome back here to Chznney High School as the Landram Cardinals come into town looking to extend their season and get a win to potentially qualify for playoff contention. Li Chzn fighting to get that three seed in the playoff picture as playoff picture I don’t think has went any way that anyone expected coming into these four game stint. I think a lot of people coming into this four-game stint, and I speak for everyone, not just these teams involved, really saw a Clinton Chznney one-two finish along with Liberty and then Blackburg Landram kind of going toward those last three spots and stuff. But the thing that threw the wrong the wrench into everything was the Liberty 35-6 victory over Chzn a few weeks ago, which is really has made these last few games be very chaotic for a playoff picture. Again, as we shared before the break, if you’re just coming in, folks, as they have an invocation here, we’re going to stop right quick. As we celebrate these seniors, we thank you for all they’ve poured into them. And we thank you for all of the memories that they’ve created for all of us. I pray that you will continue to guide them as they go out past the borders of Chesn. And I pray that you will guide their steps. Let them carry the banner of the eagles as they go forward. We thank you for the freedom we celebrate through the men and women that have come before us. and most importantly the freedom that comes through your son Jesus Christ in whose name we pray. Amen. Veterans in active duty may render salute for our national anthem which will be followed by the CHS Alma brought by the CHS marching. Oh, say can you see by the dawn early light what so proudly we held at the twilight last gleaming who broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight. When the ramp parts we watched were so gently stream and the rockets red glare, the bumps bursting in air gave Give proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star spangled Ber yet when the land of the free and the home of the brave. All right, folks. That was a beautiful rendition of the national anthem performed by the member of the Chesn community. I hope we got that audio for you before it played so you’ll know who it was. I’m trying to focus on our production here and make sure that you’re able to see and hear that. And I apologize for not getting the name there, but it was a beautiful, wonderful job done by that young lady. Jeznney band is starting to play the um alma moater. So, we’ll come back to our pregame show here. And again, big story tonight is going to be for these two teams needing a win to qualify for for class 2A playoff eligibility for the Landom Cardinals. Of course, they’ve got to get in to force a potential three-way tie that is made possible. Again, we were saying that by Chzn’s 35-6 loss to Liberty a couple weeks ago. That really put this in a position where and with Landram’s 14-6 loss to Blackburg really put this in a position of chaos, if you will, for the playoff picture as um right now a win by Landram would force a three-way tie between Chzn, Blackburg, and Landram. And the playoff seating for the third and fourth slot would go would be determined by points allowed in those three region contests between these teams. Blackburg already completed in their slate with those two teams having given up 54 points with 48 to Chzn and six to Landram. Of course, Chzn give up 18 to Blackburg and Landram giving up 14. So theoretically for these teams, for Landram, if they can win this game and give up fewer than 40 points, they’re likely in the playoffs and good for Chznney. they win. They’re in and they’re the three seed and it’s pretty cut and dry. As we’re live here at Chzn High School already down to 54°, still feels like 54, but with some of this wind blowing a little bit and the chill setting in now with the sun setting to our backside here. It should get cold here very quickly as we are again very grateful to be here. I want to welcome in any Chznney fans watching our broadcast tonight. We are um the we are covering this game on behalf of Upstate Prepcast, the regular Chesn broadcast, not able to be with us tonight, but so they’ve posted our links here and we’re glad you’re here with us. We won’t be able to quite describe the your players and tell your stories as good as some of your colleagues, but but we will do our best to highlight these young men and their great action here for the Chesn Eagles. Of course, Cardinal fans, you know us. We’re going to give you all the facts and figures of your Land room Cardinals. as we come on down. We’ve got a very surprise for you tonight. We’re consistently trying to innovate here at Landram High School on Upstate Prepcast. And tonight, we got a little bit something new here. And let me pop in here and make sure that it’s ready. I’m I am watching here to see if we’re ready. Not yet. But when we go out for this coin toss for the as the captains meet at midfield, um that is Steve. I’ll quue you in here. All right. Rob’s signaling us down there. Kevin, welcome ladies and gentlemen. We’re trying to bring you something special here, but u thought we had the kinks worked out of it, but hey, big game over here at Chesn today, tonight rather. Glad you’re here on Halloween night. Hope the spooks don’t come out to get us. And either way, captains for the Cardinals, Ty Foster, Cooper Tidwell, Blake Bridges, and Eli Shirley 5. Rob, I’m not getting you yet. Here, folks. We were trying to have us a sideline camera here, but it’s not receiving signal. Rob, check your camera if you can. If you can hear us. We’re not getting a signal, folks. We had a camera right up in there, but do you have the window open and it’s outputting? We had close it and open it again, Rob. We thought we had the kinks worked out, ladies and gentlemen, and going to bring you something special. That’s That’s This time I’m going to let my crew introduce themselves to you. We’ll get the audio of the coin toss at least. Umpire’s going to step forth for the coin toss. The flag’s going to be heads. Star is going to be tails. Call it loud enough so everybody can hear. Tails. Tails and calls. It is a tails. You have won the toss. What do you select? I want the ball. You want the ball. Which way do you all want to kick? All right, guys. We get the ball. All right, Rob. So, Cardinals will get the football first here. We’ll try and work out and I’d love to bring that sideline camera to you, but right now it is still working the bugs out. That’s why we’re kind of using this last game to kind of figure some things out is um it was working in pregame, but that’s about the way technology goes is tonight joining us back on the playbyplay. I’ve kind of used the pregame opportunity to cut a joke on him the last few years, but and stuff tonight. I couldn’t think of anyone finer to work with here on the game 10 of the season is my partner here in crime, Mr. Steve Roer. All right. It’s wonderful to be here at Chesn High School to bring you this game on what we like to call the magic carpet. What a beautiful field. Nice stadium. I’ve been here many times, many years ago, but played on the grass there, Kevin, the in the old days. This something else. Hope all the Cardinal fans at home enjoy tonight’s ball game. And if you’re a Chesy fan tuning in, we’re glad to have you here. We are not professionals. We are just fans with the microphone and we do hear occasionally from the critic or two, but that’s okay. We don’t give you statistics. I can’t. We don’t have a statistician, but I can give you tonight’s starting lineups defensively for the Cardinals. Eli Shirley is going to be at the nose. AJ Lindsay is out at the linebacker. I don’t know who the replacement is at the end. JT Guest, the linebacker Grady Zipper on the corner. Brillan Revvice. Garrett Bridges at a linebacker. JP Brandon at the end. Carson Roach at the left side. Linebacker. Trey Nes on the corner on the left. Ian Patterson is at the safety. Offensively, Maddox White at the center. Corbin Mappy at the guard. Zeke Pori at the tackle on the left side. Blake Bridges at the guard. JT G at the tackle. Wide outs at wide receiver. Ian Patterson. Brillan Revvice, Bryson Morrison, Trey Nesbet. Running back was slated to be AJ Lindsay, but I expect to see Brilen Revvis in that capacity. And of course, the quarterback for the Cardinals is Ty Foster. So, we’re going to try to get this underway here as what they call the Eagle’s Nest here in Chesnney, South Carolina, just situated on the outskirts of the sprawling metropolis of Mayo, South Carolina. Rayquiz kicks it off. Trey Nesbet bounces it between his legs at the 21. Picks it up. He’s got some running room down the the visiting sidelines. Gets it up to about the midfield strike. Good, good, good return. Taking to the tree. He doesn’t do a lot of talking, but he’s makes big plays on the field. Williams, great field position to start the ball game for the Cardinals. Can’t ask for better than that. Let’s see where they set it up. But I think they’re going to set it up at the 49 yd line of the Eagles. Tight sidelines over here. Not much room on this visiting side before there’s a brick wall. Maybe six to 10 feet. Not even 10 ft. Maybe. So, it’s tight over here. I remember working those sidelines one year and wasn’t fun. But I do remember standing on these sidelines many, many years ago over here when it was fun. Foster on first down. Going to hand it off to Revvis. Revvis with some running rim. Straight up the middle. Down to the 25. Still on his feet. Battling to the 19 yd line. First play of the ball game. The Cardinals. Exploit the middle. Terry made by Tamaro. Cardinals first and 10. Hey, gotcha. First and 10 Cardinals. Basically the same play. Revis to the left side. Plenty of running room. Picking his way forward over there. Chesnik comes up and shuts the door on him though after a short game. Well, not a short game. He picked his way for a hard fought three three and a half yards. And Jaden Bridges with the tackle. Kev’s been busy trying to work out the bugs on this surprise for you here shortly. and we’ve worked him out and hopefully we’ll be able to show that here soon when when he returns down second and seven at the 17 of the Eagles. Two men in motion. That’s Brandon and looks like zipper. Foster takes the snap. It’s going to be tripped up in the back field. Good play by number one Brill Blandon of the Eagles makes a good defensive stop there to bring up third down. Kevin and Steve, as we said once pregame again, we’re just grateful to be able to for the first time ever to broadcast via video over here. Thanks to their principal, Steven Fisaro, for giving the okay on that. We’ve always enjoyed our time. Great atmosphere here. Now you get to see it live in Living Color. That’s right. My old buddy Steven to go way back. way back long time ago when that young man was in high school. All right, Foster on third and five takes the snap. Rolling to the left. Just run all the way. Gets away from one fella. Another one. And it’s towards the cones. Does he make it? Just steps out of bounds. Just shy of the goal line. Ty Foster. Cardinal showing some offensive tenacity here early in the ball game. First down and goal from the one. I don’t know what to expect from Chesn. I’ve read and seen them on the news and things this year and earlier this year they in my opinion it was going to be Clinton and Chesn ruling this region. Well, sometimes you have a couple weeks but they they’re like the Cardinals need to refocus tonight. All right, it looks like first and goal. Revvice gets the call and into the end zone. Touchdown Cardinals. They take their initial series of the game 49 yds and get into paid dirt at the 957 mark. That’s a jet sweep across there or a fake jet sweep and then hand it off to Revvis there and right into the end zone. And we’re going to go see if this will work now. Rob McIntyre on this sideline here. Oh, look at that folks from the sidelines. Rob. Do I have Rob’s microphone? Yeah, I’m here. There you go. Yeah. Trying to do a couple of things at once. We got the pulling after going here. It is up and no good to the left. No good. Add a little shank to that. Look at that. Rob, just follow him around there. Let’s enjoy this sideline camera. Kevin, brag on Rob hearing what he’s bringing to folks tonight. Well, what we wanted to do tonight here and we’re it’s going to be experimental. Next year we’ll get it a little more stabilized and stuff cuz we know all of a sudden everyone’s a audio video file out there and has perfect audio. But like we’ve made the joke before, we can’t afford to eat, but we do the best we can here. We’ll cut back to our main camera. But okay, but um we are experimenting here with two two cameras set up and we’d love to be able to bring that to you all next year. Rob kind of loves being behind the camera instead of in front of it. So he said if anybody wants to come be the sideline reporter so he can bring you all these great shots with great ease next year to come on out and volunteer and get on board folks. We’re excited about what we can do. Like I said we are very low budget but we try and get a little better every week and this is our latest attempt. So stick with us while we grow folks. Martinez tease it up for the Cardinals. Ha! Pooch kick down to about the 35 will be filled it and the Cardinals are all over him and slam him out of bounds at the 37 yd line. Kevin, one surprise score from last night’s Liberty and Blackburg game. You want to fill us in there? It was a very tight ball game I hear. Well, we saw how good Blackburg could be defensively in that game versus us few weeks back. Liberty after putting 40 on land the week before and stuff. And Foster run to the left side and they’ll trip him up and then they will take him down pretty hard. Yeah. 57. Yeah. 57 on the stop. But I’ll tell you who made that play was number five. I believe Jaden Bridges I saw in there. I don’t have a 12 on the Eagle roster, but fine run by him anyway. Too bad it has to come back. Good for us. Too bad for them, I guess you would say. But still a fine run by the young man. And that has kind of been the um Achilles heel of both of these teams from what I’ve gathered and just you know I’ve obviously you know just observed Chznney for a far in a couple of their games. A lot of crucial penalties at crucial times has been kind of the ber distance down this region stretch here but they’re looking to get things straighten out. Good snag over there. Bryson Mars the on the reception for the Cardinals. Second down. Good reception, but he got got a yard out of it though. I was reminded by someone last week that I don’t call the timeout enough, Kevin, because unfortunately we don’t have that on our screen. Well, one thing at a time. Next year, if there is a next year, we’ll we’re got Foster’s getting flushed out of the pocket. Penalty marker comes flying in, slings it back towards the sidelines. That’s going to get us for holding here, I believe. No doubt about that. Oh, yeah. Little bit of running room. Trying to fight forward. Yellow helmets everywhere. And they’ll slam him to the turf. 18 on the stop basically. I’m sorry. I don’t have him on my roster either, Andrew. 18. Give him credit. And that’s my fault. I think I printed off an old It could have been a 13, but I think it’s No, it’s 18. I think he sent me a newer one and I and I printed off the old one like a dummy. So, blame me. Third and 15. The scoreboard says I’ll buy it this time. No, it’s not Nesbbit. Pass complete. Ian Ian Patterson number three with a great reception. Gets about nine close to the first down marker. I didn’t get time to really do that, but number three for number five, excuse me. Revis, you got to give him a lot of credit. They sent a blitz on that around that left end that right side of the formation. He picked up that blitz perfectly and provided Foster enough time to get that ball out to move. Great block. Second and one. It’s actually less than one. We got a whistle over here before the snap. Who called timeout? I’m not getting an indication from anybody in a striped uniform here. Not yet. How do we know they’re the real official? How do we know it’s not Halloween and they Yeah, the one standing over the ball looks like that suit. So, it wouldn’t be the first time I’ve been wrong, right, Kevin? Um, in the last 5 minutes, maybe. Hey, I went 72 hours without sleep this week. You did. And we’d like to give a special congratulations. See how I led you into that? to Miss Casey Roer delivering the first grandson of our Steve Roer here. Love see a healthy baby boy and wishing him very best. He’s a whopper foster to throw and get tangled up over there. There comes old Jella Revis was the intended receiver. Oh yeah. Got that first grandson and I mean he is a big one too. You know my daughter’s a tiny little girl. And that’s a eight almost a nine pound baby. And I’m so proud of her. I I love my granddaughters. But come on. I had all daughters and it is going to be personal foul against the Eagles. Can I keep going on? This is about me, Kevin. Okay. Your favorite subject. Let’s get back to the ball game, folks. We like If he had a mirror, he’d go on up. Hey, I’ve got a compact in my pocket. We get a What do we get? We get a free first down. Yeah, we got to get focused, baby. We We’re kind of distracted. I’m talking about grandchildren and and Hey, did I tell you I had a brand new grandchild born this week. Grandson, my first grandson. We’re so distracting sometimes. Moves the ball out to the 31 yd line. New set of chains. First and 10 for the Cardinals. 949. And they wind the clock. Second quarter. Clock down by three. Well, they just wound it. He signaled for him to wind it. The Bull gets the call. 44. The freshman JP Brandon 44. Double four. Two plus two. 22 plus 22 is 44. And he’ll get about four yardds out of that too. Quick on the line here. Second and six. Three receivers to this side. One to the top side. Rev. Oh, Ian Patterson to the top. I do believe. No. Revis to the top side of the field. Morris. Ian Patterson and Trey Nesmet down to this side. The Bulls stands to the left of Foster in the back field. Fosters looking to throw going down that far sideline towards Revvis. Leans out. Almost pulls it in. I tell you, he was riding him like a mule down there. Great coverage by the Eagle defensive back. Revvice made a great effort, but we just came up short. Yeah, a lot of little hand checking between the two. No call there. I’m not going to beg for a call there. That was good coverage. I will say that’s good tight tight coverage and either man could have came up with it there. Unfortunately, our guy didn’t and their guy gets away with being the hero for the moment of making a good defensive play. But it brings up third and six. We got three receivers to our side over here in the grand stands. Revis to the top by himself. Foster under pressure. throws it across the middle just out of the outstretched hands of an Eagle defender back there, Kaden Platt. Number four, and that’s going to bring up a JB Trees. Fourth down for the Cardinals. Good defensive effort, I guess you could say. Defensive effort for Chesn. Uh we had a good thing going. We didn’t make some plays there. And that’s football, you know, high pass here. You know, just the little things. I mean, just off the fingertips kind of things. Great exit. I like the what we were trying to do there. Nothing wrong with that. The effort. Just uh out of the fingertips here and there. That’s what football’s all about. He’ll take this one on a bounce and he drops it. This is going to be a free ball. We’re going to get it. Yes, we do. Carson Roach. Carson Roach jumps on it for the Cardinals. Great Caesar’s ghost. What a play. The junior linebacker outside linebacker Carson Roach pops on the ball at the 26 yd line. We’ve got New Life 842 in the second quarter. We’re down by three. We’re at a football game, but sometimes the old baseball edge, put the ball in play and good things happen. And that time it did. There had to be some sort of payoff the way we were denied. Brillan Revvice gets the call to the left side and they closed that door quickly. That was there 54 Cooper. Cooper Esco according to the PA man there. Yeah, both these teams coming into the last last region game here been struggling. Had to really challenge themselves and dig deep. Not not the way they exactly wanted to go, but still a lot left on the table to play for. Got to get in the playoffs first. Little line Brandon up in a little wing spot over there. Foster rolls that way behind Revvice picking his runners. Stepping, tippytoing, reverses direction, smells the end zone. There he goes into the end zone. Ty Foster scan the field for any soiled laundry. And he’s out of bounds. They saying he stepped out, Rob. Let’s go to Rob. Rob, you have Yeah, they got him out on the one. Well, bring it to us. We’re on you right now. You’re All right, guys. Yeah, they they had him going out of bounds at the oneyd line. So, they’ll line Revvice up this time beside Foster to his right. the bull in front of him at that wing position blocking. Hands it to Foster I to Brilen. I mean they stack him up at the touchdown. Touchdown Brilen Revis take advantage of what the Cards deal you and that’s the turnover on the punt. Kevin hard nose running there. Got it right here on that sideline. Cam, beautiful shot. Rob. Beautiful shots by Jonathan. Two leading up to it. And Rob, take it away on Yeah, I’m kind of sitting here trying to figure out exactly what they want to do here. If they want to go for the two or the straight up pat. I think they trying to debate that out between our offense and or our special teams rather. 12 seconds to decide that. Yeah, it looks like we’re going for the two here. Uh got guys got guys lined up in four out four wide out one in motion. All right, he passes it and no, he drops it. Who did not catch the ball? Almost passed it in. Oh, we we lost a good opportunity right there. All right, Rob, now 746 left in our first half. Your land Cardinals leading the Ches Eagles 18 to 15. We’ll be right back, folks. I had a question about my insurance the other day. So, I called my new State Farm agent and would you believe I talked to the same person who remembered my name. They said that was called service. And then they asked if my dog Max was over his cold. They called that service, too. And then they helped me find ways to save on my home and auto coverage. I asked State Farm what they called that. They said service. Call agent Chad Wagner, Asheville Highway, Spartanberg, 585799. When you need trusted legal guidance, experience matters. Escapes three or four of them. Cooper Tidwell chased him down from behind. That was Carson Roach, excuse me, that trailed him down. Uh we This is kind of one of them give and take games. We We get one and then we give one away and they take one. So, back and forth. Got a we got a good one going on over in Chesney. 2218 the Eagles on top of the Cardinals. just scored again to take the lead and they’ll kick it off and Revvis will pick it up on a roll and take it up to the 34 yd line. Penalty marker comes in very late after the play. We got two guys doing the like we say the Texas two-step over here on the side. And which way this one goes, I don’t know. They look both look guilty just tussling it out on a block. So, I’m interested in seeing how they call this one. Could go either way in my opinion, but might be one of those off settings, but we’ll see. Mhm. That’s just emotions there. Nothing wrong with that. Revis good return though. Back up to 34. We’ve Let’s see what they’re going to call here. I mean, I know what the call is going to be, but which way does it go? No, it it was offsetting penalties. Okay. Well, we’re getting a little dejected looking from one of our players. So, this might it was they he the white hat signal and that’s okay. Offset and penalties and they’ll take over from the 36. Great. No harm, no foul then basically at the 36 yd line. Got four receivers in the formation. Two to each side of pair to each side of the field. Hand oh goes to the bull. He slipped on that turf right there. Cooper with the That is That is one thing about turf that it gets a little slippery now. Yeah, especially if you’re not used to it. I don’t know if Chznney wears any different type of cleat um than than maybe Landon would be accustomed to. Um one would think, but that’s always been kind of the controversial thing for anyone that has it. It’s a beautiful field. It allows for the home school of anybody that has it to do a multitude of different sports easy without having to draw lines and all that. But it does, especially on a cold night like this. Fog sets in. It’s a little slippery to do. He slipped the bull slipped into dew a little bit there. He lost two yards on it. They’ll give it to him again. No, they’ll fake it. Great play action by Foster. Slings it outside. Number three, Ian Patterson pulls it in for the Cardinals and he’s going to pick up a Flounder Seafood first down. Yeah, great second effort. had him down before the line the game, but he made a great move out there. We’ll see it again. Good stutter step and just stay kept his balance and kept going for that first down, Steve. All right, up up near the midfield stripe at the 49 yd line. Look at that Cardinal on that football. Landram Cardinals on the move here. We’ll send out Trey Nesbbit and Mars into formation top side of the field. Ian Patterson looks like Revis in the back field again. stands to the left of Foster. The bull in motion back to the right. Sets in there. Revvice gets the call behind the bull. Battling his way forward and he’s going to get about six out of that. Yeah, Cardinals. I mean, JZ’s got a pretty good size defensive front here. But they guys up front, they have held their own tonight and they’ve been able to move football on the ground which has allowed Ty Foster to be very effective on that play action. Same formation. The Bulls shifts back to the right. Revvice again on the carry and Eagle trips him up. Comes flying in from that left side. Over there’s Max Canrol, the kicker and he got revised by the foot there. So, less than four minutes to go in the game. I’m being approached. All right, here we go. 342. Third and one for the Cardinals. Hand off to Revvis. They get him and they stop him. They stop him short of the line to gain. That’s going to bring up a fourth down. JB Trees and decision time for the Cardinals, Kevin. And no doubt you’re going for it here. So, what do we call what do we reach into the old bag of tricks on Halloween and pull out? Do we get tricked or do we get treat right here? Let’s hope we get a treat. Sorry, I had was I think we’re going to think about it. The play clock’s down to 15 and counting. Let’s see. We’re getting the signal called in. Got the bull in the back field. We need a yard out of the bull. I think he’s going to get the call. And it’s going to be Foster following behind the bull trying to get outside. They had him hemmed up, stepped away, and they got him short. The Eagles step up when it counted most. Kevin, great defensive effort. Yeah, two guys there. One one did not make the tackle, but he did stretched it out. Stretched that thing. Thank you, Steve. Stretched it out and allowed that second guy to get there and Bosters’s got some good moves usually, but he was not able to quite. He reached for it, stretched for it, but just not quite enough for a first down. So, ball goes over to Chesn. Yeah. Yeah. And they’ll start it at the 246 mark in the second quarter. 22 to8 lead over the Cardinals. And they’ve got it up around their own 42 yd line to start it off. And they have made some big plays out of Kyle Thrift the running back. But this time number eight Evan Reese Lauder the quarterback on the keeper down that home sidelines. Cooper Tidwell finally gets him by the collar and chases him out of bounds. Big runs by the Eagles offense on they have exploded for some big runs. Yeah, these new uniforms are usually pretty hard to get a hold of like that. Thankfully could just get enough fabric there to get him down. If he wasn’t able to grab enough fabric there, he would have been down the sideline and gone. 233 and counting. Eli Shirley checks in for the Cardinals. They’ll put him at the nose position. round the left guard right over that left offensive right offensive guard on the Eagles and they’ll run right back towards him and he does make the stop. They’ll give him a yard or two but surely is there. They came back. He cut him back in and still ends up in the pile. And Chzi will call their first charge timeout of the first half and they’ll have two remaining with 212 left to go here in the first half of competition. Folks, want to remind you at our halftime break, stick around immediately at the conclusion of our first half, we’re going to have another segment featuring our FCA coach for Landram High School. Contract negotiations, dear. Yeah. Is it contract negotiations or are our heads on the chopping block? No. Yeah. A little of both. Like a fish at the fish monga. Basically, we’ve said they’ve said that we’ll work for free and we’ll say we’ll work for free, but how free will we work is is going to be the question. All right. Got to like that music. Whatever it is, 212, we’re getting back started here. Evan Reese Lauder, the quarterback, hands it off to number two over there, and he’s going to be tripped up. And now goes to Cochran. The tackle made by Cochran, the ball player. Good tackle over there on that far side coming up. I think it might have been Tidwell coming up to stop him from that cornerback position, but also could have been Bridges the linebacker. Got a stoppage here. We’ll see what it is. Brady zipper. Let’s see. And I think they said timeout Eagles. That’s what I heard. Eagles. Yeah. At the 157 mark. We’ll just keep it right here. And maybe Rob can give us some live action camera work down there at the moment. Let’s go to Rob down there. Rob, there it is. Rob, get up in the Get on in that huddle. Get in that huddle, boy. Let’s see what angle it down cuz we got this. You got your thing. Angle it at the huddle there. Yeah, there you go. There we go. That’s a great shot there. All right, Rob McIntyre on sideline reporter and get some of these fans up here. Yeah, they might want to see their self next week. That’s right. There’s a nice young fella on the front row down there that looks like he needs to be on the Gowensville TV network. Is that what we’re going to call ourselves? No. The Count Beller TV Network these fans here to come on out Cardinals and way up there. Oh, there’s some ugly people at the top there. See me waving my hand. Sammy, I’m way up here. That’s the That’s the one I am ladies. That’s the ugly ones at the top. That’s sitting out here braving the elements on third and five. Loader on the keeper, cuts it back to the inside, stops and then gets outside for the first down. Reese with the kill picks up the Eagles first down. Ian Patterson was the only thing standing between him and the end zone and Ian finally coraled him up over here at the buck 50 mark. We appreciate you watching in. We’ve hovered around 80 people at one time, but we were up to nearly 300 views total. Tell anyone to come on in on YouTube. Blend Cardinals on upstate. We got a burn burner going here. Chesn first and 10 at the Cardinal 21. They’re up 2218 and marching to the outside 12 on the carry. Goodness gracious. He was just kind of marker first. Cardinals in the back. Just picked it picked it along this way there. I don’t have 12 on my roster. You said Andrew caught in. Yes. Let me get it right quick. That is my bad again. I’ve messed up again. Is uh number 12 is Ramier Miller. Well, Mr. Miller, I should got to remember that Mr. Miller had a fine run right there. Picked up the Andrew gave me the correct roster and I went online, got the wrong one, forgot he sent it to me, so blame me. All right. Flounder Seafood first down and 144. Miller again gets away from everybody, reverses direction and into the end zone. Back to the right side. Mr. Miller pays in full in the end zone at the 138 mark. 10-point lead so far. Looking to make it another one. Rob. Yeah, guys. Uh, that was a good uh set of plays coming down the field there. I got some interference here. I was going to question Kevin about when we get done. All right, setting up for the PAT. Got seven on the hold. Fixing it. We’ll fix it at the half, Rob. Looks like 10 on the kick. No, 15 on the kick. Kick is up and is good. Is good. All right. 29 the Chesn Eagles. 18 for our Cardinals. 138 left in the first half. Inflation and other economic factors can keep you from getting the best results from your investments. All right, back here at the Eagles Nest chasing the Eagles 2918 over the Landram Cardinals. Cantrol’s getting ready to tee it up for the Eagles as Trey Nesbet and Brillan Revvice stand back. They look at it come and Nesbbit will drag it down at the sixyd line. brings it up field and he’s going to be snagged by a couple of eagle claws over there up around the 22 yd linear 131 left. Hey, you know that was a Fousaro on the stop there. That’s his son, their principal son. Again, we want to give a special thanks again. We can’t say thanks enough. Um, in previous years, uh, contractual obligations through another streaming company prevented any outside streamers from being able to present here at Chzn High School, and they did that as a free option during the COVID time. So, wasn’t mad at them. You know, contracts are contracts and we don’t get involved in legal matters. So, it just makes me feel old to hear. Those contracts are over and right now we were allowed graciously by him to allow filming for tonight. So, we appreciate it. Buck 30 left in the half. Foster looking to throw over the middle. Ian Patterson is standing there, hauls it in at the 26 yd line. You know what really makes me feel like an old man when you look in the mirror. Well, that and along when you hear the name of of a child on the field and it’s somebody that you wrote about or covered their high school career, which has been 25 27 years ago now. So, well, you know, I feel the same way about Bryson Morris. I remember seeing his dad as an athlete for the first time as an eighth grader. So, you know how I feel. Foster under duress, chased chased out of the pocket down the sidelines looking for Revvice, I believe, and it’s incomplete. Clock stops with 53 seconds. Uh-oh, there’s a man in a mask that just came up from behind us. Don’t go out there. Whatever you do, don’t run to the basement. Don’t go to the basement. That’s what they say. Halloween night here at Chznney High School. Those old horror movies, they always ran to the worst place. Right. Won’t you leave the house for goodness sakes? We got four receivers in the formation. Three down to the bottom side of the field. We’re looking that way. Foster slinging it up. Intercepted at the 45. Lots of running room. He’s holding his fingers up and going into the end zone. Should have been a taunting. Should have been a taunting penalty there, but didn’t get caught. Good play by the Chesn defender. Taking it to the house. Watch the fingers though. Young men everywhere. But a great play. Taking nothing away from that by number one. Get his name out there. Brillan Blandon. BB. I bet they call him BB. As that was right there. Um, we’ll talk more about it after this point after that. Rob, give it to us. All right, guys. Yeah. Uh that was that was a great play. Uh we setting up here for the point after the kick is up and is good. We’ll go back here and look one more time. Not to prolong the agony here, but we’ll go back. I want to just show this instant replay again. I can’t really pause it, but you will see the second time this comes around. Let me try and pause it when it comes through here as they go in the score. We’ll go for that second time right here. player is open here. Nesbit opening up, but just a little high and he read it perfectly. Didn’t come up on the man. Sat back and just let that ball go high right into his arms and was off to the races. Good play. He laid back there where he was supposed to be. And like you say, great play by the Chesny defender. I mean, as we try and get better next year, we’re going to we’re I like that stop motion you got there. Maybe it get a little better. Can you get me one of those diagrams so I can be like John Ben? We’re not there yet. We’re not there. We might can start say we’re we can afford the E, but we’re not on the S yet. So 36 18 38 seconds. Actually 38 and 8/10 of 100 remaining on these fancy play clocks. I remember back in the day we would just say 38 seconds. Well, y’all you had the the actual physical hands on the clock winding around on Not to mention we had one like down at where Scholes. That’s what I’m saying. Oh, okay. I’m sorry. Cantrol lays the cow. Hides to it. Brilland Revis will pull it down at the 11 yd line. Brings it up field. Got some running room a little bit. Gets it up to the 38 yd line. Came close to just a little gap there. He might have taken it to the h. Yeah, y’all had the manual hands and the guy with the starter pistol to indicate that things were open. Yeah, we actually did have a starter pistol when I was in um I think it was little league. We don’t want Muriel to get on to us. She tries to get us to be more serious. She says her her sister Mindy and Tad, their mailman listening every week. And I thought they thought I was at the bingo game last week. They got worried and um they got and she Tad got so upset he had to turn the TV off and go in the other room and couldn’t even deliver the mail to them. I know about lost her social security check. All right, three receivers down to the left. Foster looking to throw. 27 seconds in counting. Penalty barker comes down. So something big will happen for us as it usually happens. But Ian Patterson can’t pull it down. What are they going to get here? I think we got a receiver downfield. I mean a ineligible receiver over here. One of these linemen standing around. I think that’s what it is. Tangled up. I went too far. Yep. Just a little bit too far. two for holding penalty going against the Cardinals will back it up. Uh but I hope everything everybody’s feeling better up there and the mail got delivered and it’s not everybody that lives with a mailman. So you know how that could be very concerning but we’ll we’ll do better. We’ll make it more serious. We don’t didn’t mean to confuse up there. Appreciate that. 21 seconds to go in our career as Foster goes back a little screen. Oh, that lineman 54 right there. He He almost got a early Christmas gift and I don’t have him on the roster. Andrew Fed me some more names. 54 is Cooper Inskow. He Inskco had a split decision to make right there. Knock it down or try to who knows what he might have thought. It was right there at his face and he made the best play he could. He knocked it down and I think Old Yellow’s on the ground there. It’s going to be holding. Well, they’ve got a discussion of the zebras going on here or the men in the white stripes, the black and white stripes there. They’re going to wave that flag off. Don’t want to make anybody mad out there and say I’m calling them zebras and they don’t understand the reference, Kevin. That’s right. You can call them convicts, but you know, I don’t want to go there either. 15 seconds to go. Our intention is always to make you feel like we’re sitting on the couch next to you. And thankfully we’re not cuz we’d be probably eating all your snacks. I was just fixing to say go to the kitchen and make me a sandwich. Yeah. So we like to just have a You got any pastrami? That’s right. Nice relaxed atmosphere on the broadcast and have a lot of fun. Hope you’re having fun at home on Halloween night. Hope you’ve had a lot of trick-or-treaters and got all the kids sugared up and sent back to their parents. Here we go. Third and 10. probably the last play of the half unless something drastic happens. Foster just winds up and throws it down the middle of the field. There’s two Eagles on one Cardinal and the Big Eagle pulls it down and he’s got some running room back towards the home sides just picking his way through the traffic. This is a big play and he scoots out over there and he’s still on the loose. He takes a wallop at the end. Penalty markers come flying in on that and there’s a flag on. They’ll get an extra play out of this, I think, Kevin or an untimed down perhaps. Or will it or will it be after the play? It’ll be maybe on the ensuing kickoff. Yeah. So, we’ll have to sort that out over there for a moment, but I believe that’s what it’s probably going to be. A dead ball foul. They’re kind of telling them not to leave yet. Hold on. Get back here, boys. Come on. Line back up. So, we’ll see. If they said it was during the play, then there would be probably an untimed down, but might give them an opportunity to poke it at the end zone with a quick pass. Oh, certainly. But the way they’ve been running, we are unofficially at the halftime break, but we’ll see what the result is. We’ll see what they say. We think it’s probably going to be something that will apply on the ensuing kickoff of the second half, but he needs to hold that ball up. Oh, he’s saying run the clock. One’s saying run the play clock. Personal foul and we’re confused. They’re confused. Everyone’s confused. So, are they going to give them an extra play? I do believe so. They’re going to mark the ball down around the five yd line probably. And watch this. They will. The way our luck is, Kevin. The way our luck is, they’ll score. And I think Coach Reed’s wanting to talk maybe to the official. That’s what it looks like to me. I don’t like the idea of the UN, but they they have to say that that it happened in the field of live play for that to to be the case. That’s that’s my thinking. I’m no expert. No, I’m no expert in anything. Now you can feel it in your town. Good news on this. There is no worrying about getting out of bounds. No worried about line to gain. You know the line to defend. Put people on that line and let no one pass. Easier said than done. Line up everybody on the goal line. Nobody crosses. I’m drawing the line in the sand right here. All right. As we await, we’re trying to figure out what’s going on here. That’s right. They got some music going up in this place like the club. Until 36. The ball is at the 8 yd line. Number 11 will tote the mail probably. They’re going to look that way. looking to throw though. Quarterback’s probably going to turn it up. Throws it in the back of the end zone and he caught it. Fantastic play. What an effort. I told you. Yeah. Great. Caesar’s ghost jumped on us and uh that’s just the way our luck’s been this season, Kevin. Yeah. and EB he almost reached behind himself to pick that off just before it hit the turf and and go in and go to Rob for Great play by the Eagles. A great I agree with you, Steve. That was a that was an impressive play. All right, we’re going for the PAT right here. Just straight up uh got number seven on the hole. Looks like 15 maybe on the on the kick. The kick is up and it is good. That gives you chestn 43. Land room Cardinals 18 halftime. All right, folks. Well, that does it for our first half and the Cardinals fought hard for most of it, but Eagles with a couple big interception returns and opportunities and unttime down there to kind of stretch this lead out at the half. Your score currently, your Landram Cardinals 18, Chzny Eagles 43. At this time, we’re going to send you to Landram FC co FCA coach Brandon Pore with a special word. We’ll be right back in a few minutes here on Landram Cardinals on Upstate Prep Cast. Hey guys, Brandon Priy here, FCA character coach for the Landram varsity football team. Uh I shared with you a little bit about what I do last time uh during the coaches show and I’ve been asked to share one of the DVOs that I would do with the team. This year we’ve been going through the word legendary uh which I created a I created an acronym out of the word and we used each letter of the word to highlight a characteristic that is crucial not just to being a good football player, being a good teammate for the Landram Cardinals, but also just life lessons as well. And I wanted to share with you the letter D. When we got to the letter D, we highlighted the characteristic of discipline. Now, discipline is one of those key elements that you must have uh as a young man or a young woman, as a as a human being if you want to succeed in life, if you want to be a productive member of society, if you want to advance in in any area of your life. Uh you you’re going to have to have discipline. And as a Christian, I understand where that comes from. And this is what we’ve been trying to share with the guys, even with the coaching staff. This is something that I try to remind myself of every single day. Discipline is something that is actually a gift of the Holy Spirit. I would closely relate it to having self-control, which is directly uh a gift of the Holy Spirit. We see that in Galatians chapter 5. But discipline is something that is crucial and it’s not something that just comes from within. We need self-discipline, but we also just need discipline in our lives. Fathers must discipline their children. Mothers, parents must discipline their children if they desire to lead them and train them up in the way that they are to go. Coaches must discipline players. Players must be they must be self-disciplined. Uh the scripture that we use to highlight how crucial this is comes out of the book of Hebrews. And it’s where God teaches us that all discipline is is painful. It’s it’s not pleasant. It’s painful rather than pleasant. But it is useful and it is necessary. And it also teaches us that God disciplines those that he loves. Why? Because God understands, he invented it after all. He understands that without discipline, there’s only chaos. If we desire to be the best that we can possibly be in whatever we do, whether it be in the classroom, on the football field, at our jobs, as parents, as children, as coaches, doesn’t matter what we’re doing, we must have discipline in our lives. And the more discipline uh that you have, the more disciplined that you can be, the better chance you have at being great at whatever it is that you’re doing. And so with a football team, obviously this starts with the coaches. The coaches have to be self-disciplined, but they have to run a tight ship as well. So they can’t just let things slide. They have to make sure that if someone steps out of line or someone’s being a a bad teammate, if someone refuses to um do their workouts, show up at practice, if they’re always causing dissension on the team, there has to be some type of disciplinary action so that the team understands that’s not going to fly around here. But also the players, they have to receive that discipline. They have to embrace it understanding that the coaches love them, the coaches desire is for the team to be as proficient as possible, as united as possible, and that the coaches love those kids and that they want the best for them. So there it is. Discipline is crucial. It’s crucial for the parents, crucial for coaches, crucial for bosses, employees, children, and everyone in between. The only place you can get true discipline is from the Lord Jesus Christ. The discipline that lasts. So hey, if you are undisiplined and if you lack that, if uh you desire to be the best that you can possibly be and whatever it is, turn to the Lord Jesus Christ. I promise you won’t regret it. All right, till next time. Welcome back to the Wings, etc. Wall of Flame Challenge. We’ve seen some pretty tough competitors come through here today and most left crying. You don’t get it. All right. Well, I tell you what, Joey Martinez is going to lay the cowh high to it. And we’re underway with a little short little pooch kick taken at the 28 yd line by number 13 with some running room. And zipper. No, the bull will get him by the claw there. Get the he the bull got him by the claw. 13 on the return. That’s Bryce Horton for the Eagles. People always hear Steve and I argue back and forth there. Y’all family? Well, actually, we are. We are cousins. We found We discovered that accidentally came in. That came in just in time to sponsor Teddy Lner Racing Stables. His whole his horses just got came to attention. Number 20 is going to tote the tater for the Eagles. James Spivey and he gets swallowed up by that linebacker in the back and again for the Cardinals. I want to touch on that Brady Zipper on the stop for number 12 Garrett Bridges the linebacker. Do want to touch on that again. Thank you again to Teddy last year racing stable stepped up helped sponsor our land football coaches show sponsored the internet also was a very generous contributor to allow to bless our crew here on upstate Prepcast land number 11 on the carry again we’ll stack him up Kale Thrift the ball carrier for the Eagles Grady Zipper with the initial contact. Bridges finishes him off. 54 in the lineup for the Cardinals is according to the roster is Vy Som, but at linebacker that is not Vy Som in 54. Kevin playing this left linebacker here. AJ Lindsay is out this evening, ladies and gentlemen. I think we have failed to mention that number 11 the ball carrier thrift home that silhouette 14 14 again on the stop that’s Grady Zipper again saw that silhouette going across our screen thought that was Tom Landry but also Rob McIntyre going across the screen there Eagles have done a great job tonight where they’ve been as advertised this is fourth down Kevin sponsored by who JB Tree LLC providing great work at reasonable prices. The only people around that can chop a tree down using a ham bone. Lauder on the keeper dancing around this sideline over here. Picks up a flounder seafood first down. Eli Shirley back here to stop him along with Cooper Tidwell and Estabbon double seven. Yeah, sometimes individual effort just wins out. We had him a real good defense called had him on the edge. Just let him get around and he made a fantastic individual effort and moved the chain for the Eagles. So Flounder Seafood first down. In a few moments, young Jonathan will get us a picture of that sign over there when we get time. Show one of our sponsors on the Chesn wall over here on the wall of fame over there in the end zone. Thrift to the left side. Thrift into the secondary down to the nine yd line. Kale thrift with a deep pick up. Eagles first zipper on the stop. That’s got to be at least eight to nine tackles for Grady Zipper this evening, Kevin. Mhm. I’m just theorizing. I know I’ve called his name out many times. Sometimes I have a knack for being kind of close. kid that waited till his senior year really I think I think think it was to come out and he has been a fantastic addition here gave everything fantastic young man seen him on the baseball diamond for several years and glad we’ve got him out here on the football field this season all right Thrift the ball carrier smells the end zone for the Eagles crosses the plane and as you can hear the PA announcer it’s a ches Eagle touchdown at the 8/19 mark in the third quarter and they’ll go up 49 9 to 18. Kevin nothing bench right there. Just hand off right up the middle. He weaved his way through traffic there. Good blocking up front by the Eagle offensive line and they’re in. And you’ll need to call this cuz Rob is unavailable at the moment here. All right, that’s going to be Max Canrell for the point after as Carson Gossip will hold for the Eagles waiting the snap. There it is. It’s down and the kick is up and it is good. 8 minutes and 19 seconds remaining in the third quarter of play. The Chesn Eagles all over Orlando Cardinals 50-8. Back with us is on playbyplay, Mr. Steve Roa. All right, the Eagles at the 50 mark. That’s my favorite number, my favorite jersey, but I don’t like to see it on the scoreboard. Revvis will pull it down for the Cardinals. Gets up to the 40, breaks a tackle up to the 41 yd line. Almost broke it out. The senior playing his heart out here this evening, Kevin. Yeah, absolutely. He has been the very surprised, outstanding player of the year, thrust into some roles that he did not maybe play before, at least at the varsity level, and he has came up here and just absolutely performed and give everything he could. I’ve got figured out now. Carson Roach here on the sideline just took his helmet off and you know it’s very easy to spot Carson without blonde hair. He is wearing number 54 Kevin jersey change here. Maybe his got ripped up. Oh yeah, he’s over here getting taken care of. But when he took that helmet off so Oh, that’s Carson. No mistaking that with that blonde hair. Eight minutes to go in the third. Little reverse. Trey Nesbet toting the mail to the right side and Eagles got him by the foot. Number five makes a absolutely terrific open field tackle. That’s Jaden Bridges. Number five showing up all night. Yeah, that was a good setup play action there. Thought they might have him fooled, but again, one-on-one efforts there and they had it played very well and he’s just able to get him by the shoestrings and bring him down. Sometimes a shoestring is all it takes. Rob’s just trying to get on camera here. He is. Big loss of about five on the play which brought up second and 14 actually the scoreboard says but don’t plead your case to me Rob you’re we’ll get a yard out of that with Revvis you wanted to be production not on air so you don’t get speaking parts off what happened is little batteries run out a should have bought energizers they’re not a sponsor all right third down and 14 to go for our Cardinals 7 minutes in counting in the Third quarter, we’re down 50- 18. Foster fields a low snap around the ankles. Lots of running, lots of time back there. Now he fires down the sideline. Nesbe, I think it was Ian Patterson came back to it. Made a fantastic play. Fumbles it out of bounds, but he made the play. Let’s get a number. Was that Was that Ian P? P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P P Patterson number three. Got a play. We got a penalty marker on the play, but that’s way downfield. They I think it was Patterson on the reception. Yes. Came back. He came back to get that ball and nobody except him knew there was a fumble on the play. He’s looking back and they’re dragging him five yards back down the field. We’ll see what the call is. They’ve allowed the players to come all the way down here. So, one would think if it was I never saw the flag on the field myself. Rob saw it. Personal foul. Say offensive pass interference against the Landram Cardinal. Greet Caesar’s Gast. Maybe the real refs have been replaced by trick-or-treaters here in second half. I appreciate you dressing up tonight, Kevin. You What are you a fat, frustrated broadcaster? It’s what I wear every week. You are not my buddy. You are not that what frustrated. Yeah. And the other the the others undeniable. You’re just you’re just overly full of love and joy and just swelled up for the land of love and joy. That’s right. I’m not far behind you, buddy. But I’m actually feeling pretty good tonight. We both look like a plug for the Titanic, right? Yeah. All right. Brings it back. Makes it third and seven. Let’s see if we can do it again. Foster’s going to take it to the left side. Throwing to the outside. Nesbet makes a diving catch over here near this wall and that’s going to bring up fourth down. Is it Georgia Tech that has the uh field so close a wall so close like this? This is reminiscent. Reminiscent if that’s the correct word. You know me in words, Kevin. I’m think of ones that I can’t say. It’s definitely, like I said, a very nice study, but it’s very close. And it is something you really have to you have to watch for and you see the guys out in pregame warm-ups practicing those routes out to that to get familiar with the depth and the speed of it. We’re going to go for it on fourth and seven at our own 44 yd line. We’re punting. Oh, I’m sorry. I got all excited. I knew that. I was just joking with you. Foster gets that kickoff. Takes a good bounce. See, I was checking on you to see if you would ever say fourth down. Okay. A flag over there on the far side of the field. We probably got off too soon. No, I actually blew that one, Kevin. I’ll That’s okay. I’ll admit that. Once again, it’s been 10 games and I haven’t made a mistake all season. All right. I think I heard this week I’ve only made procedurality, you know. I’ve only made one one mistake all my life and I was mistaken about that. Yeah, you know, I’m on my third cup of coffee up here, too. You know, it’s getting dangerous, folks. Is getting wound up here. It doesn’t take much. Just think of that precious new grandbaby. Oh, my Bubba. Didn’t even give him a name yet. I mean, naming a child’s not like naming a puppy. You know, you can turn a puppy up and look at it. Oh, your name is Spot. I took one look at him and I just called him Bubba. You’ve been wanting a Bubba for many years. I sure have. Your eagle. I sure have. One to take fishing with if I fished. Want to take the ball games if I if he’s got his own ticket to get in. Back to throws. Race Slaughter to the outside. It’s complete. The number four balls on the turf. Estabbon’s digging in there for the Cardinals. And I think 52 for Eagles has recovered. All right, that’s Oscar. Panagora. Estaban was digging in there after it. Hey, that’s one thing we’ve done well tonight that I really haven’t seen us do much this year is poke that ball out and be able to try and force turnover. So, good development here in this last year. Hopefully something that can carry over to these underassmen as they start next year. Lauder hands it off. Hand off to Misaro. Picks up a few. And um I did get clarification that we hear that it’s very similar phonetically, but that is Pasaro, not Pasaro. Um Steve, we said that earlier and stuff, but that is number five. Was that with the ball carrier? Oh, Pasaro. Pasaro. Yeah, Taven Pasaro. Yeah. Nolan P Fusaro is a lineman and that is if I’m not mistaken might be Mr. Steven’s nephew. His son. It’s his son. Okay. Sorry about that. Sorry about that. I’ll tell you a story about Principal Fisaru here in just a minute after Lauder takes it around the right sideline and picks up a first down. right here in this general direction but not actually on this turf and this is just for the Chesy Eagle fans to know at home you know but 2000 Mr. Fisaro was a running back at Chapman High School. Won the region championship over here on a last second one touchdown and I think it was 2000 and they had the big guy over here called the biscuit I believe back then. I could be wrong but it’s been a long time. Number seven catch the carry. That’s Gossip. Gossip, excuse me. But that’s a memory for me and Chesn High School principal Steven Fisaro winning the region championship for another team here on this field. But that’s a long time ago. And we do thank him again. Again, our first time ever being able to provide video to you from Chzn High School. And we appreciate his hospitality and everyone here at Chzn High School for allowing us to broadcast at their facility. He knows me so well. is probably saying, “I’ve never seen Steve sugarcoat it so well in all his life when he’s come over here.” Oh, Lauder on the carry. I don’t mean to say we sugarcoat it, but I did promise to be nice and all the things from years ago of me way I would do in the paper. Sometimes it’s hard to separate us from being the fans, but we have to try and maintain some semblance of professional. This has always been a great rivalry or I don’t know if you want to call it a rivalry or whatnot, but a great matchup for district one schools whether it be Landram andor Chapman in the day. So, um close proximity these kids go to Swford Vocational together and it just makes it a little more exciting, you know. Third and short. Little razledazzle. Little trap play back to the inside. Seven tote in the mail. Yeah, some gossip to be honest with you, Steve. I mean, and I think maybe some of you know Landram and Chzn played a lot 70s, 80s, but then through the 90s and most of the 2000s weren’t in region. Didn’t really play each other a lot and really did wasn’t much of a rivalry until Chznney rejoined the region in 2013. They were out due to realignment for a few years there on the field. It’s becoming due to proximity a very increasingly rivalry but nothing probably like that of Chz and Chapman which now they haven’t played in a few years but that was certainly a closer back you know in in the olden times of Spartanberg County athletics. I’ll just say one cheerleaders chestn one schools or district two and district one schools had great rivalries whether it was Chessie Chapman or whether it was Boling Springs and Chapman but the rivalry of District 1 and District 2 has always been a a good thing and uh thank you very much for acting like the music from Green Acres where you plant the little seeds in the ground and the wife to be a farmer. shoot stuff to the ground. Well, I like to relive a little history of No, it’s wonderful to hear context. It’s It’s a good thing to hear. Like I said, and I’m sure there’s a lot of uh nothing is that. See, my point is nothing has ever changed over 40 years basically of high school football. You know, players might get a little bigger, a little stronger, but the the logic of the game will never change, right? and the things that can happen at crazy moments, the the monkey on your back, little things that you can kind of predict. It never changes. Back in action. Ball is in the turf. Lauder gets away from Zipper back to the left side. He sees something and that is the end zone. When life hands you lemons, Kevin, what do you do? You make lemonade. And Mr. Loader right there. Evan Reese Lauder just made a big picture of lemonade. Let’s see if Rob’s back on our sideline here. Yes, he is. Camera. Yeah, I’ve been getting y’all kind of good shots down here. I don’t know if you’ve been catching them up there. No, but we’ll try and get some. We’ve been trying to switch back and forth. Right. I understand. It’s last game of the season. More than We’re testing this out. I’m I’m just a secondary camera down so I understand. Okay guys, they setting up here for the PAT. Got seven on the hold. Uh looks like that 15 or 18. I can’t see his number from his angle. So, and the kick is up and good. 18 is good. Uh Ches Eagles 57 our Landram Cardinals 18 253 left in the third quarter. That’s Max Cantrol with the point after for the Eagles and we’ll be right back. Chesting Eagles all over the Cardinals 5718 as Trey Nesbet pulls it in on the kickoff for the Cardinals and he’s going to get it up to about the 28 yd line. Kevin, little correction. Of course, you know, I try to remember things from years ago and I get years confused. I remember names and things, but Mr. Andrew corrected me, but these are old memories for me. I remember some great players over here at Chesney. I watch play like Peewee Reese, Paul uh Reese, Pee-Wee Humphre. I mean, I’m getting that wrong. There was a a whis kid that was real good and the guy that went by the name of Biscuit was about 500 lb of a flower sack. Andrew corre corrected me on that. Yeah, the year. Go ahead with what you He said you he thinks you’re thinking of Nick Defio is and they said he was biscuit from 400 lb was the reason for the nickname and Jack Davis Biscuit another biscuit was early 90s. Yeah, Jack Davis Biscuit was here and I remember that one and there I’ve seen some great players over here at Chesn back in the day that they had a absolute fantastic football team under Jerry Cash back in those days and in Miami times day I might have made coach Cash mad a time or two but coach it was all in fun back in the old days if you’re listening to this broadcast always respect acted what you did. You were an absolute great coach at Chesley and at Jonesville High School back in the day, too. And he was assistant coach even over here until a few years ago when we were here. So, he’s been around this community a long time. Dan Willis, always hid from him. You usually had to hide from most opposing coaches. He wouldn’t give a comment to that me and Emman times reporter and I don’t blame him but we had some great times great rivalries back then Kevin different day and time but it was fun time 139 and continuing to count in the third quarter we’re down 5718 Revvis the ball carrier for the Cardinals takes it up to about the 39 yd line oh Blake Blake Bridges and his defensive lineman were engaged and they just went right into the referee and they both had to just stop and put their arms around and brace him back up from falling down, keep him from falling there. Sometimes the refs are right there in the alleyway of action. Fourth down and a yard. It’s a JB Trees LLC fourth down at a minute and counting in the third. Revvice gets the call. He’s going to get that first down. It looks like and he does. Yeah, from this angle it look like he does. Do need to remember. Let’s go down there. 49 second mark. We’ll get Rob. We’ll see if he can give us our sideline angle here. If he’s ready for us here, we’ll see if we can bring it on in here down on the field. Great action. I said this is an experimental thing for us. We’re going to get a lot better at it next year, but we won’t. We hope to buy a stabilizer if Teddy Laster Racing Stables will provide it. Foster slings it outside. Revvis pulls it in from the out of the back field and he may have gotten back to the original line of scrimmage there. Eagles get all over it. And that’s probably going to be the final play of the third quarter here, Kevin. And that will do it into the final stanza. We are fixing to go, ladies and gentlemen. The Jing Eagles here at the Eagles Nest having their way with the Lander Cardinals 57-8. Stick around. We got another quarter of football to go on this Halloween night. Boo. All right, guys. 30 second commercial for GSP Security. You ready? Yeah. Go ahead, Tom. No, it’s your turn to go. I did the last. No. No. This one’s yours, man. I’ve already got a security system from GSP Securities. You’re the one that needs to talk about this. Well, you can talk about it because I don’t know anything about it. So, you tell me. I’ve got cameras. I’ve got motion detectors. I’ve got everything that I need to be safe at my house. Oh, come on. All right, forget it. Forget it, y’all. Both forget it. Just go to www.callgsp.com today to request a free quote. All right. Back here at the Eagles Nest. I always like that commercial. I’ve got cameras. I got this. I got fleas. All right. We do need a pest control sponsor. Yeah, we do. Foster back to throw on second and 10. They’re going to get him from behind. He’s got eyes in the back of his head. He throws it up. Threw it up in coverage back here, but nice effort back there by number 10, Bryson Morris. That’s right. What were we talking about with the father a while ago? I was mixing up some names with the son from a couple of years ago and I said, “Well, I did the gentry kids like that.” So, yeah. Um, yeah. I when I was um when I was a senior in high school, he was an eighth grader and um and I got to see him now. It’s just an honor to see his son Bryson on the field today on third and 10. Believe the Revvis was the ball carrier. Staley into the back field. lost on the play. The senior, he was, like I said earlier, our guest at the coach’s show the other day. And what a fine young man. And brought his little brother. And that was just the medicine this old man needed was to sit beside a little fella like that and see him admire his big brother in that setting. And he’s probably in these stands here tonight rooting for his big brother. And I believe his name was Holston. Yeah, I believe so. Poston Rev. Poston Revvice. So, you remember this in the years to come, watching your brother playing in what is probably going to be his final football game of his high school career. Foster punts it away and we let this guy get away. 13 13 on the return. Just slippery is Bryce Horton and he gets run down by Carson Roach. Watch that instant replay again, folks. Our experimental sideline cam coming right into your living room or onto your mobile phone on the road. Hope you’re not driving and watching the game, but Oh, no. Handsree. Yeah, handsree. But coming right to you if you were. And I’ll make sure to get out the ends the football. First and 10 from the 35. 10 and a half left in the ball game. Need to advance the quarter to the fourth. There we go. Great graphics. Kevin’s up most of the week. You people at home may not realize that these graphics that you’re seeing on our screen take a lot of time to set up to get the program set up. And I just want to what you’re seeing a sideline camera tonight is the first we are record breakers and trend setters at Upstate Prepcast. We’ve got the first HD camera system. Now we’ve got a sideline camera. Sorry it came to you in the 10th game of the season. But you know ideas come along and Rob McIntyre’s idea for that and um hopefully this will work out for you next year. Well, let me just say that. You know, here we are. You know, it’s 57 to 18. You know, we we’re hoping for a rally for Cardinal fans, but folks, next year um we’d like to do even more. And like I said, we appreciate all the sponsors of Upstate Prepcast as a network, but those local sponsors you’ve seen do the coaches show. Those are also essentially open up additional funds for us to be able to do more things like the Starlink service and stuff through Teddy Ler and his thing. Also helps our crews out during the week. And it also allows us to there’s some of this stuff that requires subscriptions that uh enhances our content. We hope you’ll consider if you don’t subscribe, if you please sponsor on the network level, but also if you want to contribute locally next year, we’d love for you to partner with us to bring better land football. Balls on the turf. It’s going to be recovered by the Eagles. Continue, Kevin. That’s great message. I was going to say we’d love we could do a whole lot of things if we had We’re not asking for a king’s ransom. We’re not going to pay ourselves anything out of that and stuff. Um it’s we do for free, ladies and gentlemen. But equipment and like things Kevin’s trying to say, our equipment and um and the services, platforms and things are expensive. We’re not looking to get rich and make a living off this. We just would like a little extra to do that and a lot more support from the Land room community. And I’ll touch on that here in a second after this play. 12 the ball carrier to the right side of the field. That’s Miller if I’m not mistaken and he’s bullying his way forward and staying on his feet. That is Miller. He’s just that’s just an outstanding run by the young that young man. Well, let me tell I hope you know we’re part of the bigger Upstate Prepcast platform. So, we do encourage you if you want to support if you want your business to be featured on four networks and help support local high school football broadcast and other sports broadcast. Please, please sponsor them. But also consider on our local level if you want to sponsor, talk to me next year. Like I said, help us make your broadcast better. The more resources we have, the better we can make it, folks. Run by Chzny number two up the middle. Yeah. Into the end zone he goes. Wow. Blake Cochran, but a flag may be on the play here. We’re going to see a lot of whistles. We’re seeing stoppage in play. heard a lot of whistles, but did it count? Uh, we’re going to see. Holding against the Eagles, so that one will not go on the scoreboard quite yet. Steve first. Broom and Chapman are battling it out, but Broom’s winning 3626. Doesn’t say what quarter here. That’s kind of got some region playoff spots or whatnot going on with Chapman 3A. Chapman and Broom are battling for third and fourth place. A win puts the winner in the third place uh and the loser into the fourth place in that region. Union County finishes fifth and will miss playoffs in that region. So it’ll be Woodruff MVP Woodruff the region champion. And if the score holds Broom and Chapman in the four number four toting the mail for the Eagles around the right side that’s Katan Platt. They are putting up some numbers now. The scoreboard over there is about to catch on fire. Kevin, that’s right. They’re just handing it off and going around breaking a lot of tackles. Not much more you can do. They’ve kind of subbed out and doing what they can do. And we said And we said if we’re going to go out, we’re going to go out in a blaze of glory. Yeah. I thought that’s the way you and I had planned to go out. Yeah, that’s right. We go down to Rob on the sideline. Rob. Hey. Okay, gentlemen. Yeah, it’s uh this score is getting on up there. We probably going to run to a go to a running clock rather here on the next play. All right. Point after is good. It will be the Eagles 64 Orlando Cardinals 18 849 remaining in the fourth quarter. Well, it certainly isn’t pretty on the scoreboard over here in Chesney, but I will say this Kevin, uh we have fans still in the stands. They’ll stick with it to the end in support of their guys. And it’s not just parents of these boys. It is actual fans. And we love our Cardinals. It’s been a tough season. A lot of sophomores and freshman out on this field tonight. It’s baptism by fire on this season. And I tell you what though, some some cornerstones are being laid here for the future. Yeah. Looks like Revvis on the return. And he’s not giving up. This senior is playing the last of his high school football and he’s got 7 minutes and 30 seconds to do it, Kevin. Yeah, and I’ll say it’s not been from lack of effort. There’s a common theme that’s kind of popped up in our games. You know, we’ve been able to really hold our own with most every team we’ve played this year in that first quarter, middle way through that second and stuff, but every game we didn’t have time to quite get our starter graphic up today, but if you look on that starter graphic, usually there is always seven, eight, potentially up to nine. We’ve seen at times players that are playing both ways and that really becomes hard. And that’s why we’ve preached all year. Please, those of you, the fix will come from those younger generations, both your JBD team, but those little league. We need more kids to come out, play football, get involved so that that first team can get breathers and we can stay deeper into ball games. That is exactly right. you know, one, two, 10, 10 10 more guys and oh, we’ve been really pushing, you know, to the forefront the youth association this year and in Lander and, you know, scores may look at it’s not lack of talent. It’s just eventually big plays here in big plays when people start getting tired when you’re playing nine players both way getting close to halftime and we run out of gas and it’s it’s just a natural thing. it’s going to happen and the only fix for that is to have more players that are on the field so that instead of maybe you know we’re on the 2A level you’re always going to have some two-way players and such but on the 2A level but you know we just need to have more so that instead of nine maybe we have two or three think when we play Blue Ridge granted they’re a 4A opponent they had one player going two-way on the field and stuff so again and that only comes from numbers when we can get depth that way we stretch that even talent that we kind of have in that first quarter and part of the first half there and be able to extend that four quarters. So folks sign up and get out and come play Landram football. Foster on the keeper picks up several good blocks. Penalty marker comes in way back out of the way because some shenanigans that took place back here that shouldn’t happen, but we got a big play is coming back. We’ll take a look at this fine run by Ty Foster, the senior, still out here giving all his all. Um, and that’s kind of been also another theme this year that we’ll look to correct going into next play. A lot of big plays on the season have been called back due to penalties and such and it is in a team like I said with the lack of numbers and stuff and you having to do you that’s just yet another additional play in yardage you have to cover. So when you don’t have the numbers you’ve got to really play it off, Kevin, they going to wave it off. We’ll take it. That might have been a mercy penalty wave off there because I saw the infraction and we were guilty. When Rob gets down there, we’re going to come to him on the sideline. Cam there and we appreciate what he’s been doing. He’ll be out of breath by the time he gets down there. He will hopefully by the time he gets down there, we done scored a touchdown. And and we got time out on the field. We got time out. Who’s at the 431 mark? Who’s taking it? So I I don’t know. Well, I didn’t see a signal on that, but I would say it would probably be us. Oh, that’s so I’ll go ahead and I’ll go ahead and mark that off. That is correct. See any reason why Chesny would want to stop the clock? Well, no. You know, that makes sense. Sometimes I’m over here trying to produce and logic goes out the door. So, um, we do, like I said, it’s all about numbers and I can’t we can’t say enough. We’ve been harping on it all year and stuff. Get behind these boys. Get your kids out and play. If you’re in school again, we’ve had several players like Zipper who maybe didn’t play and as an underassman came out his senior year, it’s not too late as long as you still have eligibility. And so if you can come out and play if you’re a Landram Cardinal guys and girls, too, cuz there’s been we’ve had several of those over the years. But you know what, Kevin, these guys that want to come out, they have to realize that football is just not a, you know, nine month or commitment. You got weightlifting to go with it. There’s a lot of things that go with You can still play other sports, but the main thing is conditioning. Make a commitment to the weight room. It It benefits you in every sport that you play. That’s the main thing is the weight room. We You know, you can get pushed. You can be the greatest athlete in the world, but if you’re not strong, you’re going to get pushed around. Foster to the right side. Eagles corral him up. number 15 I think on the stop there for the good start there. Zayn Hensman. Hensman. Hunsman. Hunsman maybe. But um yeah, I mean that’s what it is. You got We got to make the commitment to hit the weights. More kids, more weight room, all that good stuff. Somebody’s Well, that happens to be my the daughter of the baby in the hospital. So, I’m going to have to pause a moment. I’ll let you take that. That’s certainly more important. So, so we come here as Cardinals now have it third and goal from the 2-yd line. 340 left to go in the ball game. Rob McIntyre, our sideline camera, Jonathan McIntyre, our main cam up top. We’re keeping it on the sideline here as Cardinals looking to make this closer. A score would stop this running clock here. And as here we go. Yes, Foster gets the snap, rolls to his right, pitches out to his right. That is Revis going clawing his way forward, but there is a flag on the play down at about the two yd line as Steve comes back in now. Afraid if he takes too much off, he’ll be replaced, ladies and gentlemen. Although many people call for it, we’re not actually going considering it. I’ve been everything good with the baby and that such. Oh, yeah. Baby doll just thought the daddy was through working for the night. Well, almost, baby. Almost. Locking the back penalty going against the car. Almost. Cuz little mama’s bored at the hospital, I guess. Oh, I’m sure. Tell them to put on upstate Prep. Lon Garden on Upstate Prep. Did I tell you? You should have left them a Freeman stick at the hospital. Every house that I go to, I get on their YouTube on their tele television and and I subscribe. Folks, if you are at someone else’s house, subscribe. Take their phone from them. That’s what I do. threaten to send our crews to their way if you don’t cuz they certainly don’t want us to clean out their All right, Kevin. Third and 13. See if we can get a little something on the board. Break that 20point barrier. Foster trying to get it in the cornered end zone. Sets up the middle screen. It’s going to be batted away by number 60 at the line of scrimmage for the Eagles. He just hung around there and he was in the right place at the right time. Mr. Harley Coleman. Harley Coleman gets his name called out tonight with 150. We’ve got to start thinking about our Raymond James financial adviser, Tom Dixon, offensive and defensive players. Well, I’m going to give my nomination for a defensive player. It’s a name that I’ve called several times tonight and several times I didn’t when I should have. And that is the senior linebacker number 12, Garrett Bridges. down student section. He kind of silently got in there tonight in amongst all a lot of these initial contacts were made by Garrett Bridges from the linebacker position. Foster looking to throw on fourth down. Revises in the back of the end zone. All alone, the senior pulls it down at the 116 mark for the Cardinal touchdown. The senior playing right down to the last of it. Kevin giving it his all for Landram High School. We’ll catch that again. We see him as he falls out of the frame, but we’ll see this throw. Great little fade, great touch right to that back boundary, drags the foot in there, and Rob McIntyre will go here to you. That’s worth the hot dog we paid him. All right, guys. That was wonderful to see our guys get in here right here at the end of this game. Uh, get that there TD and get some points on the board. Look like we for the two-point conversion here. One in the back. Three wide outs, two right. All right, quarterback drops back. He puts pass up into the back corner and I think it was picked off. Conversion attempt. No good. Okay, guys. Uh 41 seconds left in the fourth. Chestnles 64, our land Cardinals 24. We’ll say right here, Rob, as we again let me before we continue that that what your train of thought was there with a running clock. It’s been kind of hard to get this in. Fourth quarter play is sponsored by Bergkshire Hathaway Home Services, Ced Joiner Realtors, Spartanberg Office, Jeff Parks, broker in charge, 124 Magnolia Street, Spartanberg 864 6221234. So again, you said your defensive player of the game was who, Steve? Garrett Bridges. Garrett Bridges. You got an off Rob. Do you have any opinion? What you got? wanted something in front of the camera. Guys, guys, I’ll be honest with you. I’ve been so preoccupied with everything I’m doing down here tonight. I I really It wouldn’t be fair for me to try. He wants everybody to see his grandbaby. Come on. Zoom out just a little bit. Get that focus in right there. Come on camera. Come on camera, focus. That’s a happy grandpa right there. A little onside kick bounces off the chest eagle’s helmet. Oh, I’m just so happy. Sorry we missed that JP Brandon. There we see him. Good shot. And that was it. Clock is run out. Final score here from the Eagles Nest, ladies and gentlemen. The Landon Cardinal will end their season 67- 24. No, 64 to 24. Oh, they’ve got that. What in the world is going on over there? They added the touchdown to Chzi instead of landing him on there. Our scoreboard, I believe, is correct. 64-24 final score here. Offensive player of the game, Steve, before we wrap up. Eagles win. You know, lean lean up here. Never mind. Ian Patterson had some great great catches tonight. Mhm. And I’m going to go I’m going to go with Ian Patterson at the wide receiver. Had some great catches. Um, Revvis could be a a candidate for sure. We’ve given it to him so many times. I like to spread it around a little bit, but I don’t think Ian Patterson’s had some love this year. I’m going to love on Ian Patterson tonight. All right, folks. Well, that is going to do it for our final broadcast of the year. As a result of this game, your Cardinals do finish at 3 and seven, 0 and four in region play and do not qualify for the Class 2A football playoffs. We want to thank you all for all of your support all season long. We want to do again, we said this last week on senior night at the Camp Beller Coliseum, but we want to read out these senior names. Again, this is the latest roster that I have. I hope this is everyone. I’m going to try and get everyone on here. So, please bear with me and hope that this is right. So, special thanks to these great seniors that came with us this year who laid a real good foundation for Landram football into the future. Number two, Hayden Martindale. Number four, Cooper Tidwell. Number five, Brilan Revvice. Number six, Joey Martinez. Number seven, CJ Phillips. Number 12, Garrett Bridges. Number 14, Grady Zipper. Number 22, Ty Foster. Number 23, Braden Means. Number 24, we missed you tonight. He’s been battling that shoulder injury and stuff and something, I think Steve said, bit him this week in practice. been him on the practice field. Yeah. And just unfortunate for a fine career, AJ Lindsay, number 24. Shout out to him who couldn’t be at least on the field with us tonight was on the sidelines. Number 50, Eli Shirley. Number 55, Kaden Yarborough. Number 61, Corbin Mafy. And number 66, Blake Bridges, along with number 78, Maddox White. Seniors, thank you for everything you’ve done here. this se the results of this season may not be what you want, but you certainly never quit. You never gave up. Again, you’ve you’ve gave us fine examples, these underassmen, hopefully everything that we’ve said and and everything that’s been that I know that I’ve heard some of you seniors trying fellas, we respect you. We really do for your athletic ability and what you have poured in this season from the early months of August, the hot months of August and over the the the off season, the weights and everything. It is truly uh remarkable the schedule that you young kids keep early in the morning, late in the evening, and you do it for the love of the game, and you do it for the love of each other, and we do it for the love of you. Yeah. And and as we’ve said over and over, we’ve heard the coaches say, we’ve heard these players even say on our coaches show, these boys need help. They need numbers. And these boys have laid a fine example of how to be a Landram Cardinal. And these younger underassmen have shown a great spark, but they need help and they need numbers. So, it takes a village, Kevin. Takes a village. And we need you. I’m willing to dedicate to to donate my firstborn grandson to District 1 schools to play football. Bubba’s on the way, folks. Class of 2043. That’s right. But again, folks, we just thank you for another fine season of Land Roard on Upstate Prepcast. We’ll be very frank. We really need your support out there to be able to do the extensiveness of what we’re able to do. Um it takes a lot of time. Takes a lot of resources to do that. We will hope we hope that you will consider donating to us on this local level along with sponsoring Upstate Prepcast as a whole as well, but especially kick in maybe a little on this local level to help us advance in technology and hopefully provide you. I think we have the finest broadcast. I’m not putting anybody else’s broadcast down anywhere, but I think we’ve got one of the best broadcast in the area. if not the state. And it only can get better with more resources to be able to dedicate to that. We’d love to see Upstate Prepcast as a whole or even on our local level. A lot of Chznney sponsors, a lot of Chapman sponsors, a lot of Bowling Springs sponsors, but you know, we have JB Trees and Brandon Pie and we’re always grateful for what he does for us and stuff, but we’d love to see a lot of Landram names and businesses on there. And you reach out to us and we can give you any of those details. We want to we’d love to come back next year and be able to do just a world class broadcast, but we need your help to be able to do that or else we might have to scale down a little bit, but we don’t want to do that. But we’d like to lose a little on the scales. We definitely do, but you know, again, Kevin, I want to say one thing before I go. Yeah. Not tooting my own horn, you know, I’m not a horn tutor, but tonight, this is the last game of the season. just closes out my basically my 45th year of covering District 1 athletics in one capacity or the other with couple of years off but basically 45 years has come to an end and I have loved every minute of it and if I have offended folks I’m sorry I love you all don’t get me wrong and I love District 1 schools and I am a Landram Cardinal now with the jersey I got a couple of weeks ago five so we love you folks sometimes we get passionate as fans fans. But no, you won’t find a group that loves your Landram Cardinals more than these four gentlemen. John, special thanks again, Jonathan McIntyre, senior here, Landram High School. There’s a lot of things that a young man 18 years old could be doing on a Friday night and stuff, but he’s coming out here with his father Rob and has done everything to give you all season long the greatest camera angles. Uh he is a wonderful cameraman. We hope to have him back next year along with dad Rob who’s really helped us out. And tonight with the innovation of the sideline camera, a first for Upstate Prepcast making records. And I and I cut this man to my left down every week cuz he’s asked me to. That’s a secret I’ve waited to say till now. But you know, again, he keeps me on my toes. He probably put a few extra gray hairs on my head that shouldn’t be there at this age and stuff, but wouldn’t think of doing anybody else than a drive you to be bald before it’s over with. But I wouldn’t think of anyone else to do it with it on a Friday night than miss than cousin Steve Roer and this crew here. Um I’m Kevin Jackson. Again, thank you for all of your support of Upstate Land Cardinal on Upstate Prepcast. Please do consider partnering with us next season and making 2026 of Landram High School football on upstate Prepcast the best season ever. Until then, what do we say one last time, Steve?
