i really hope this signing doesn’t blow up in our face. if ehlers doesn’t improve by the deadline we’re gonna end up with another embarsssing big swing fiasco
His time will come. 11 games isn’t quite late enough to start freaking out yet, but I understand it.
My personal worry is the difference between how we play, vs the Jets/ Avs. Ehlers and Necas seem to be speedy skaters who can dance with the puck and like to flow through the blue zone and set stuff up. Have a steady flowed game, which we do not play.
We sling the puck along the boards and battle it out, which may pose an issue, again, just my thoughts on it. I don’t blame Necas for not wanting this style, but Ehlers chose here knowing how we play. Whether it’s the right fit is another issue. I think he just needs some time. It’ll come
All the guys that “should be scoring” are getting on the board slowly but surely. It’ll happen.
It’ll come. I think he’s in his head.
First game against the Devils he could’ve had 3 assists on his own. Maybe just not on the same wavelength with Fish and Jarv
I think like Svech if he gets one to go he’ll get the monkey off his back and start holding the stick a little less tight
I don’t think he should play on the top line next game. It’s a privilege to play with 20/24 and get the minutes they get, and their linemate needs to pull his weight and not drag down the line. I feel like the whole top line is playing like shit because Ehlers is not fitting with them and the other two are trying to help him out at the expense of their own game.
He has 4 points in 11 games with a brand new team that plays a system. He’s been great on the ice and he will be fine. Anything else is an overreaction.
Everyone will tell you to chill, that its early and that the system takes time to learn. There’s some truth to that – but on the flip side we’ve seen other players come in and have success immediately (Stankoven) so it is possible.
Does this mean Ehlers isn’t going to work out here? Nah, but it also is not a good start.
But he is a really good play maker!
Jets fans themselves have said he tends to start slow. If we were 25-30 games in I’d be concerned as hell. Right now, I worry more about the injury bug
A couple days ago it was Svech. He’ll get there. (I beleeb).
