Max Plante is a dawg. Only 19, making UMD a top team in the NCAA. Hell yeah.
His passing and shiftiness really stood out in the brief times I’ve watched him. Was surprised he’s not on many of our top prospects lists and when he is included it is usually as an afterthought/honourable mention. Glad to see he’s starting to turn some heads, if he can keep on this track he’ll definitely fill that pass first playmaker deficit they currently.
Next Patrick Kane
The Red Wings are going to have a rookie problem for the coming seasons.
Fantastic news!
“Listed at 5-foot-11, 176 pounds on the Minnesota-Duluth website, young Plante doesn’t have NHL size.”
Brain dead take. You can definitely play in the NHL at that size, but he’s also 19 years old and his frame is still filling out. He’s not looking to play linebacker for the Lions for fuck sakes.
Center Amadeus Lombardi is also tied for 2nd in points (6 all assists) and 2nd in plus/minus (+6) in 6 games so far this AHL season.
I am very interested to see how he further develops this year in Grand Rapids.
Hopefully, he can also score a few goals in the next couple of games coming up; as he scored 19 goals in 44 games played last season with the Griffins.
