Can the Minnesota Vikings Rally and Salvage the Season? (SPOILER: Heck Yeah)
[Music] What’s going on, Jeromes? So, I I know that the season hasn’t started out the way that everyone wanted it to, right? So, three and four, wanting some more is just been a really odd season. All the injuries, notably at the quarterback position, and we said that this is going to be a unique start to the season. You know, we start on Monday Night Football, short week at home, Sunday Night Football, then two international games, and then also the early buy, also an early Thursday night game. The schedule was going to be odd, right? And and head coach Kevin Con has even talked about it’s nice getting back to the Sunday to Sunday routine, uh, which the Vikings will be doing, uh, from weeks 9 through 15 or 16. Yeah. Uh, and the teams you thought were going to be good, sometimes they’re not. the teams that you thought were bad sometimes aren’t. And this frankly has been a a wild season where nobody is good except for the Colts, probably the Chiefs now. All right. And everyone can get got on on a on a different day, which has been kind of weird. Uh and Kevin McConnell, like we’ve had some uh great moments this season. We’ve also had some bad moments this season. just the unevenness and the the fact that the team has no called no show a couple of times already this season just you don’t want to say that a coach has lot lost the locker room but this is what happens when teams do right and Kevin McConnell like definitely deserves a lot of leeway and some scholarship NFL coach of the year we’ve had some great moments with him but just the way that the team has played at times is completely unacceptable sloppiness iness, penalties, looking unmotivated, not getting up for games, just not showing up, right? And the defense has been an issue, too. Stopping the run as well as consistently getting a pass rush, can’t do it, breakdowns in the secondary, just clear miscommunications, and also things, simple things like miss tackles, rally tackling. It’s just been just hasn’t been great, right? And don’t say the floor has been figured out, but yeah, also the, you know, the offensive struggles have have greatly impacted the defense as well. They’re always uh out there after a three now. The the loss losing time of possession. They’re playing in a negative game script. It’s just no good, right? Uh but Jonathan James McCarthy is now back and also what Carson wants going on IR. He’s the only option unless the bro show comes in, right? And as of right meow, uh the Vikings are on the outside looking in at the playoffs right now. Oh, it’s weird. The the new NFL rules, there’s no one seed in the NFC. Yeah. Uh but the Eagles and the Niners, the the Bucks hosting the Rams, Seahawks, and the Lions. That’d be a good game. Uh and the Vikings currently uh chilling out outside of the playoff places with a with three and four record, but in the draft order, they’d be drafted number 13 overall. Right. So, we’re at an inflection point right now where, you know, half the fan base wants to tank, half the fan base thinks that we can rally. Of course, I’m always the eternal optimist. And even though the Vikings are three and four, staring down the barrel of a game at Detroit, saying Detroit, man, this Super Bowl, we have a gentleman who’s never lost a game in the state of Michigan. So, no big deal. All right. Uh, not that that matters at all, right? But the Lions coming off the buy, they got all the momentum in the world. They’re looking really damn good. It’s going to be a daunting task, but if this season has shown you anything around the league that any given Sunday truly means any given Sunday. And the Vikings, you the plan coming into the season was average quarterback play. You know, JJ McCarthy 10 and two, hands on the Ferrari and everyone else steps up. Except everyone else has not stepped up. Well, including Jay McCarthy who’s been out with the injury, the high ankle sprain that took seven weeks to heal. He’s back, but everything around him, everything that was promised this off season, everything that that looked good on paper on purpose has not really panned out. The offensive line has been dealing with a string of injuries. And ideally, uh, Ryan Kelly off the two concussions, which is scary, but he returns week 10 against the Ravens when he’s eligible to come back off of IR. Hopefully that is the case because Kelly, yeah, a small sample size, but when Kelly’s been in there, he’s actually played pretty damn well. and having the first team offensive line of Darasaw, Jackson, Kelly, Fry, and O’Neal. Uh hopefully being able to run the ball, hopefully being able to protect JJ McCarthy. All of a sudden, baby, we got Stew going because if JJ McCarthy has time, the weapons are there. Addison, who he hasn’t played down with. Jefferson, uh, of course, Jeff J.J. McCarthy is the only quarterback to throw J uh Justin Jefferson a touchdown this year. Of course, he got Hawinson as well. hopefully his game steps up uh in the interim and then defensively, you know, once the offense is putting up some crooked points on the board and the defense able to play downhill a little bit, suddenly things get a little bit easier. But, you know, Allen Hargrave, those probably have been the two most disappointing signings so far. Jonathan Allen, three years, $51 million. His production outside the Bears game hasn’t been great. Uh did get a sack uh in the Chargers game, but whatever. and Hargrave his snaps have been reduced greatly because of the rise of Jaylen Redmond. So, respect there. But yeah, just the whole defense has been dealing with with injuries as well. Ideally, they get Andrew Van Ginkle back at some point because he was the straw that started the drink on the defense last season and making big plays, sending the edge, playing the run well, of course, uh careerhigh and sacks and pressures. So, all the pieces are there, right? So, I I I do know that it’s been disappointing so far uh for the Vikings, but everything that they need is in-house, right? I I don’t really see them making any big time moves at the trade deadline, either buying or selling. Maybe buying. Uh but the the game Sunday against Detroit is big. And yeah, the Vikings are nine and a half point underdogs. Do do not care in the slightest. It’s going to be a tough game, but guess what? The Vikings, they have the makings of being a tough team. they just haven’t acted like it uh as of yet. And frankly, the the Chargers game was a no call, no show. I I think the Eagles game was a perfect encapsulation of what this Vikings team has been so far this year. Just would a could have should have massively disappointing penalties at the wrong times, one of six in the red zone. Uh inability to stop the big play on defense. It’s just, you know, special teams penalties, too. Just that that’s what it is, right? And we’ve seen highs, we’ve seen lows, but with McCarthy back, I I I feel like we can get some semblance of what this team was supposed to be. And this team can certainly get hot down the stretch with the defense, with the running game, and with McCarthy out here making plays. I I I I truly feel that the Vikings, even with the tough schedule, all the toughest in the league, uh they can make a run at this thing. So at Detroit is at Detroit, but then you got two home games in a row. Baltimore suddenly getting a little spicy and probably getting Lamar back. And then you got Chicago at home. Chicago, don’t believe in them. Uh at Bay, bring it. We got the Ben Sims playbook. It’s all it’s all we need. And then then you’re at Seattle with Sling and Sam Darnold doing the damn thing. Great defense up there, too. Washington is sort of reeling to get them at home at Dallas. And that’s Dallas. Dallas has really been a Jacqueline High team this year, too. And then you you’re at New York or sorry, New Jersey. Jackson Dart. No Scataboo, no Malik neighbors, but they’re they’re certainly interesting team, especially that defensive front seven. Then you got Detroit at home Christmas afternoon. And then you got Green Bay at home. Uh wrapping up two games at home. This is going to be important. And guess what? Hey, if if whether or not the Vikings make a run in this thing, the development and seeing what you have in JJ McCarthy, it’s going to be paramount. And you know, Carson Wentz got got beat to hell, but I I feel like Kevin McConnell had the long-term vision of the franchise in mind, getting McCarthy back to 100 100% even though Carson Wentz was like 40%. Uh, and getting the offensive line as healthy as possible, seeing what this team can be. Just that’s all we want the rest of the way. Whether you get back in the Derby or not, just show some fight, show some pride, and show some promise. It’s all we’re asking, right? And also, we we can sneak back in this thing, right? I’m not buying the Packers. I’m not buying the Lions. I’m not buying anyone in the NFC. To be honest, on any given week, anybody can be anybody can beat anybody. And Sunday, we’re going to see it. I I I have a feeling that this this 22-year-old Jabroni go up to Michigan and burn you to get to the ground. It’s going to be great, man. Anyways, your thoughts are thoughts. Can the Vikings save this season? Salvage the season? Get back in the thing. Yes, I’m back in. You son of a be. I’m back in. They tricked me again. We’ll see. Uh, anyways, let us know your thoughts. Our thoughts, comment section. You guys are the best, you know, to do. Skull production value.

The way the Vikings are playing I see maybe 2 more wins the rest of the season. You can't run the ball. You can protect the quarterback. You can't stop the run. You can't get pressure on the quarterback. You can't stop these quarterbacks from running freely down field. And you allow too many passing yards. Other than that the Vikes are pretty good.
So depressed rn
I GOT A THIELEN…. THAT SUNDAY NIGHTS GONNA BE A GOOD NIGHT!!!🎼🎵🎶🎹
Oline just needs to give McCarthy 4 seconds, and jj and ja need to actually make separation. If that happens, our defense will also lock in, as they are better at playing with the lead when they can really steal momentum. 11-6 if that happens is ez
Emergency QB hunt is on like Donkey Kong. The Win windows dirty business Glad Darasaws knee is being treated better then Carsons shoulder.
Defense was supposed to be our identity; there's no rule that I know of that the defense can't go three and out as well. We have too many playmakers not to be competitive down the stretch. We need to stay within striking distance, get healthy come crunch time and just get into the "dance". Anything can happen at that point. I've been a diehard fan for over 50 years. The reason we are easily the most winningest franchise without a ring, is the VIKINGS culture,… we don't tank seasons! –
I said in the beginning of the season, this secondary was not what it needed to be. And it is what it is at this point. No real dawgs in it. Just a bunch of some timers. I keep telling people if you put lipstick on a pig it's still a pig…
I really don’t see a win in the rest of the schedule
Detroit is gonna blow Minnesota out.
Play clean football, develop your young QB.Time for players and especially coaches to step up.
Hey Andy. Thanks for keeping our spirits up. Just a thought–maybe KOC didn't LOSE the locker room. Maybe with all the mercenaries added to the roster, he never had it to lose. Just a bunch of banged up, grumpy strangers that never felt the vibe, never joined the team, and kind of poisoned the well. I'd cut Isiah Rogers and Carson Wentz some slaci, but the rest of them????
Lions are gonna cook us bro 😂
Help what happened to Spotify it’s literally the best part of my day😩
I needed that kinda purp talk, gellar horn blow! SKOL!
If we can beat the lions this week, we can beat anyone. We need a W this weekend to get the life back into this team. If we can do that, I have faith
For some reason, I’m more worried about the defense than the offense. Teams have picked apart their zone defense
Thinking bigger picture, even if we lost this week, as long as the game is played close we’ve got a team still. A lot can change between week 10 and week 18 and if your team is hot at the right time can still be a playoff contender
JJ needs to play good or at least show signs of development. If he sucks, let him suck but we ain't doing anything this year (or even any year in the near future if we continue to draft like s***)
time to tank…..to many holes on the team
I suspect that the Vikings won't win more than three more games and will indeed be the cellar dwellers in the North. UNLESS… JJ turns out to be remarkable and they recover from injuries in a huge way. And even then, I doubt they'll contend for a playoff spot. I'm looking at 5-12 tops if things continue the way they have been. But I won't be watching anymore, for my own sanity, and will just wish them the best from afar. 😐🏈 Thank goodness the Buckeyes at least show up every week.
Games are won and lost on the line of scrimmage. If the line OL does not get fixed they will not win another game.
Vikings are gunna pull one outta their ass against the Lions.
Been watching them since Warren Moon was their QB and I got the vibe they're gunna shine on Sunday.
Not saying they're gunna go on an 8 game winning streak, but Sunday will be a good day
Good for Jalen Redmond 15th ranked DT on pff rn.
There is no salvaging this season. Detroit will put up a forty burger against us, so it’s time to realize that we don’t have a lot of talent!
Its in JJ's hands now. If he can play well this team can still reach double digit wins. If he looks like first 3 Qtr Bears game then we'll be picking top 6
